Standalone OC4J 9.0.4 - Loading sapsoext.dll - Unsatisfied Link Error

Hi,
I was trying web based ssosample.jsp in a Standalone OC4J 9.0.4.
The problem i am facing is java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError:getVersion()
The call to load sapsoext.dll via System.loadLibrary() is successful. However when I attempt to call any method on it, it fails with UnsatisfiedLinkError.
So why is it that the call to loadLibrary is successful but the call to actual function is failing?
This works fine when i run the satndalone ssosample from the command line. but the problem occuring when i deploy and run jsp sample using OC4J.
Is this a path problem, if so how do I configure it in OC4J standalone.
I have tried setting Variables like PATH, java.library.path, LD_LIBRARY_PATH none of them seem to have any effect on this.
I tried debugging using a windows file monitor. The library DLL1 is being read from the correct path and is being opened successfully.
Platform Windows 2000, JDK 1.4.2
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Karunya.

Finally We could able to find what was the issue.
>>call to loadLibrary is successful but the call to
>> actual function is failing
This is because assigning a package structure to the SSO2Ticket and trying to call its native methods.
So, the JNI calls resulting with UnsatisfiedLinkError as the JNI export functions bound to this class
would be of the name JAVA_SSO2Ticket_<FUNCTION> instead of JAVA_<PACKAGE>_SSO2Ticket_<FUNCTION>
In Actual SSO2Filter sample the class SSO2Ticket present in the default package (a class which is not associated with any package).
The approach i have followed to load this SSO2Ticket class which doesn't have package structure is
Loading the class using class.forname() and then used reflection api to invoke methods on it.
i) What are the other approaches ? How other people are using SSO2Ticket.java when calling from a another Java file?
ii) In the Latest versions of sample, Is SSO2Ticket available with package structure?
Any body have an idea?

• Standalone OC4J 9.0.4 - Loading Native Libraries - Unsatisfied Link Error

Hello,
I incidentally happen to have a similar problem as has been described in several posts in this forum. The problem is that of loading Native libraries in OC4J.
The scenario is
1) Environment is Standalone OC4J 9.0.4, Windows 2000, JDK 1.4.2
2) A Java wrapper loads DLL1 which internally loads DLL2.
(To be more specific the DLL1 is a SAPSSOEXT.DLL and the DLL2 is SAPSECU.DLL. These are used for establishing SSO with SAP portal)
The phase-1 of Java wrapper loading DLL1 is achieved by setting either the PATH or the java.library.path variables.
The phase-2 of DLL1 loading DLL2 is what is failing with an Unsatisfied Link Error.
Since I am using a standalone version and not a OC4J app-server, the OPMN related configuration for specified PATH variables will not be relevant here. Is there any other place where I can configure these.
regards
Shivaram

A small correction to my observation above.
The call to load DLL1 via System.loadLibrary() is successful. However when I attempt to call any method on it it fails with UnsatisfiedLinkError.
Contrary to what was written above the error occured even before DLL1 attempted to load DLL2.
So why is it that the call to loadLibrary is successful but the call to actual function is failing? (This works flawlessly on the command line)
Is this a path problem, if so how do I configure it in OC4J standalone. Variables PATH, java.library.path, LD_LIBRARY_PATH none of them seem to have any effect on this.
I tried debugging using a windows file monitor. The library DLL1 is being read from the correct path and is being opened successfully.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

• Unsatisfied Link Error caused by attempting to load DLL twice

Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me out with this issue.
My current situation is that I have an application which loads a Delphi based DLL when it loads. This application is in turn loaded from a seperate Java Application using reflection. The first time the application is opened it loads the DLL and works fine, however if I close the application and then re-open it i.e. create a new instance of the application, it crashes with
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native Library <filepath>\DataReader.dll already loaded in another classloader
I'm really not sure how to resolve this, I understand DLL's remain loaded until the VM terminates, but if I close the application and re-open it then I can't access the loaded version, or even test if it has been loaded. If anyone has any ideas about possible solutions, or where I should start looking for them I would apreciate it.
Many thanks

Ah, okay, this is probabbly me not being very clear, sorry. By application I was refering to a contained collection of Java Classes rather than an Application in the sense of a new OS Level Process. And I understand that when the Java VM Process ends the OS will unload the DLL's. Maybe my question should more be, how do I test if a particular instance of a DLL is already loaded?
Will try and explain a little bit better what the process is, in an attempt to figure out a solution. This all takes place within a single Java VM:
I have a Java "Application", lets call it A running on my system. The User clicks on a button in this application to load another "Application" (B).
A creates an instance of B using reflection, when an instance of B is created it loads a DLL into memory. This currently works fine.
The user then closes the instance of B.
The user then clicks the button in A again, A then creates a new instance of B using reflection. This new instance of B attempts to load the DLL into memory again.
This is the point where the crash occurs, with the "already loaded" error.
So, what I'm hoping someone could assist me with is how to determine if a DLL has already been loaded into memory. So far I've tried both setting a static flag when the DLL is loaded (the loading of the dll takes place inside a static constructor as recommended), and also tried
if (System.getProperty("MYDLL") == null)
System.loadLibrary("MYDLL");
}neither of which have proved effective. If anyone has any thoughts on what else I could try that would be appreciated.
Many thanks

• Obaccess.dll causes link error on hot deploy

I'm doing web services development with AccessServerSDK 10G, Glassfish v3, on windows XP using Eclipse. It works fine except whenever I change my code and eclipse attempts to hot deploy the application, the following error occurs and the deploy bombs:
"org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: org.apache.catalina.LifecycleException: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Native Library C:\NetPoint\AccessServerSDK\oblix\lib\obaccess.dll already loaded in another classloader"
It seems that the obaccess.dll reloads without checking whether if it is already loaded. The only way to redeploy the application is to shutdown Glassfish and restart it for every change I make. It's impeding my progress.
So far I've tried the following:
--removing jobaccess.jar from inside my application and putting it into Glassfish_HOME/domain/domain1/lib; it didn't help.
--put an ObConfig.shutdown before the ObConfig.initialize; it didn't help.
--catching the exception and ignoring it, but then the application gets a null pointer exception when it runs.
I can't find anyone else in cyberspace complaining about this problem. I hope it isn't an issue with Windows because we do all our development on our desktops, but I wouldn't be surprised.
Anyone else having this problem or found a fix for it?

Hi,
I already faced with this problem on WLS11gR3 (10.3.4) and I try with all your workaround.
The solution I found was to install on separate server chain in order to reboot the server instead of use Hot Deploy.
We have also think to migrate the application to J2SE.
It seam that it is not possible to remove Jni 'till jvm is up and running.
Wile summer have you found any solution?

• Unsatisfied Link Error and creating DLL error

I am having some problems getting my DLL to work properly. I am following the basic Hello World example and seem to be getting a problem.
I am running on Windows XP with, j2sdk1.4.2_04, and using the gcc that comes with Dev-C++ (Bloodshed). The following is the steps I went through.
1. Create a basic Java program.
* Sample program for testing JNI Interfaces
public class HelloWorld
//Define the Native interface
public native void displayHelloWorld( String prompt );
* The following is the main method. It will perform the
* JNI call to displayHelloWorld
* @param args
public static void main(String[] args)
System.out.println("Start of program");
System.loadLibrary("HelloWorld");
System.out.println("Loaded Library");
HelloWorld test = new HelloWorld();
System.out.println("Created Class");
test.displayHelloWorld("JNI Hello World Program");
System.out.println("Called Function");
2. I compile the above program with out any problems
3. I run the command javah HelloWorld and it generates the following header file
/* DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE - it is machine generated */
#include <jni.h>
/* Header for class HelloWorld */
#ifndef IncludedHelloWorld
#define IncludedHelloWorld
#ifdef __cplusplus
extern "C" {
#endif
* Class: HelloWorld
* Method: displayHelloWorld
* Signature: (Ljava/lang/String;)V
JNIEXPORT void JNICALL Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld
(JNIEnv *, jobject, jstring);
#ifdef __cplusplus
#endif
#endif
4. Create the C source file
#include <jni.h>
#include "HelloWorld.h"
#include <stdio.h>
JNIEXPORT void JNICALL
Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld(JNIEnv *env, jobject obj, jstring pString)
printf("Hello world! %s\n", pString);
return;
5. I compile the program using the following command
gcc -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include\win32 -c HelloWorld.c
The gcc compiler generates the HelloWorld.o without errors
6. I then try to create the dll using the following command:
dllwrap -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include\win32 --dllname HelloWorld.dll HelloWorld.o
The program spits out the following warning
Warning: no export definition file provided
dllwrap will create one, but may not be what you want
It creates the dll succussfully
7. I run the Java program
java HelloWorld and I get the following output
Start of program
Loaded Library
Created Class
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: displayHelloWorld
at HelloWorld.displayHelloWorld(Native Method)
at HelloWorld.main( HelloWorld.java:25)
So I try to generate the definition file for the dll (I saw from previous posting)
8. I run the following command
dlltool -z HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
It generates the following file Helloworld.def
; dlltool -z HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
EXPORTS
Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld@12 @ 1 ;
9. I modifiy the HelloWorld.def (as described in other postings)
; dlltool -z HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
EXPORTS
Java_HelloWorld_displayHelloWorld @ 1 ;
10. I then try to recreate the dll using the def again using the command
C:\F_Drive\Apps\C_Samples\hello>dllwrap -IC:\j2sdk1.4.2_04\include -IC:\j2sdk1.4
.2_04\include\win32 dllname HelloWorld.dll def HelloWorld.def HelloWorld.o
It gives me the following error when trying to create the dll.
HelloWorld.exp(.edata+0x38):fake: undefined reference to `Java_HelloWorld_displa
yHelloWorld'
dllwrap: gcc exited with status 1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Try the --kill-at flag on the compile line, and don't bother with the .def file, you shouldn't need it.
See http://bleaklow.com/blog/archive/000162.html for a detailed dissertation on how I got this to work for me.

• Loading a Dynamic Library on Mac OSX 10.5.6: Unsatisfied Link Error: Matlab

Hi guys,
The Matlab Builder JA generates JAR files that allow you to use Matlab functions in JAVA. I have had a friend run through the process of creating the files and running them on WINDOWS and it works fine, but it fails on Mac OSX.
The program uses the JAR file displayTest2.jar, and also requires the JAR file javabuilder.jar, which are both loaded as external JARS in eclipse. My code is as follows:
{color:#0000ff}import com.mathworks.toolbox.javabuilder.*;
import displayTest2.*;
public class Tester
public static void main(String[] args) throws MWException
System.out.println("Hello");
DisplayTest2 object = new DisplayTest2();
}{color}
This gives the following output:
Hello
{color:#ff0000}Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Failed to find the library libmwmclmcrrt.7.10.dylib, required by MATLAB Builder JA, on java.library.path

at displayTest2.DisplayTest2.<init>(DisplayTest2.java:61)
at Tester.main(Tester.java:9){color}
I have tried placing the missing library in the folders on java.library.path, but this has no effect. I have also tried loading the library like so:
{color:#0000ff}public static void main(String[] args) throws MWException
System.out.println("Hello");
System.load("/Applications/MATLAB/MATLAB_Compiler_Runtime/v710/runtime/maci/libmwmclmcrrt.7.10.dylib");
DisplayTest2 object = new DisplayTest2();
}{color}
But I get the following output:
Hello
{color:#ff0000}Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /Applications/MATLAB/MATLAB_Compiler_Runtime/v710/runtime/maci/libmwmclmcrrt.7.10.dylib:

at java.lang.Runtime.load0(Runtime.java:770)
at java.lang.System.load(System.java:1005)
at Tester.main(Tester.java:8){color}
Is this not the correct way to load the library? I have scoured the internet to the best of my ability but can’t find any solutions. As I said it works on Windows. Is there something special that needs to happened on Mac OSX. I could just develop on Windows, but there has to be a way to make it work on Mac, right?
I appreciate any help at all so I can get on with my project!
Thanks,

I wouldn't expect to see the oracle.jbo.dt.objects.JboException class referenced by anything at runtime. The oracle.jbo.dt.* packages are for use by ADF BC design time extensions to JDevelopers, but not used for any runtime of your applications.
This class appears in your stack trace.
Instead, at runtime the class oracle.jbo.JboException (NOTE: no extra ".dt.objects." packages in there).
Since the stack trace is occurring when entity object XML is being loaded, and the entity object row class is being set (based on the metadata found for the RowClass="xxx" property in the XML file), it is possible that you somehow accidentally included an import in your entity object class of the "oracle.jbo.dt.objects.JboException" class instead of the base oracle.jbo.JboException class?

Please could somebody help me out with this? Basically I am not able to understand how to deploy the EAR file created under the MyWork folder under jdeveloper\jdev to the applications folder of j2ee\home. I am new to both EAR deployment as well as web services and would like to get a good understanding of the working of a web service which includes SOAP components and the like.
Any help with regards to building and deploying a web service on standalone OC4J would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Initially I followed the following steps to start up OC4J:-
Settings :-
1) Jdeveloper is setup under C:\Lester\Testing as Jdev10.1.3 folder
2) I downloaded the extended oc4j zip folder and unzipped it under a new folder oc4j at the location C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3
Steps followed to run oc4j and deploy application
1) Setup a standalone oc4j from the jdeveloper ide giving C:\Lester\Testing\Jdev10.1.3\oc4j as the root folder for oc4j.
2) While doing step 1 added password and deployed it. Changed server.xml under C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/config
to include the following:-
<shared-library name="global.libraries" version="1.0" library-compatible="true">
<code-source path="C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/applib"/>
</shared-library>
AND
<java-compiler name="javac" in-process="false" options="-J-Xmx1024m -encoding UTF8" bindir="C:\Jdeveloper\jdk" extdirs="C:\Jdeveloper/jdk" />
3) Opened a command prompt and went to the location C:\Lester\Testing\JDev10.1.3\oc4j\j2ee\home and ran the following command:-
--> java -jar oc4j.jar
4) Deployment: Then I deployed my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
using:-
--> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -deploy -file PrimeNumberService.ear -deploymentName DocStyleWebService
5) Web Binding: Then I bound my primewebservice application from command prompt at C:\Lester\Smart Cylinder\Example code\prime\PrimeNumberService>
using:-
--> java -jar C:\Lester/Testing/JDev10.1.3/oc4j/j2ee/home/admin.jar ormi://172.20.13.164:8888 oc4jadmin welcome -bindWebApp DocStyleWebService PrimeNumberService_web http-web-site /docws
6) Steps 4 and 5 went through without error.
7) However when trying to access the web service using the following link I get the standard HTTP 404 (Page not found) error:-
http://localhost:8888/docws/prime
This was before I tried deploying the web service through jdeveloper IDE.
I had tried the document web service given at the following link:-
http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/docservice/index.html
from the web services how to links
http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/codesnippet/webservices/index.html
Please could somebody help me out? Also periodically I recieve the ojc.exe not found error when trying to deploy an application using jdeveloper ide. There are two conflicting jdeveloper versions one comes with this exe and one without.

• Acrobat fatal error: failed to load core dll

Hi,
I have a problem with acrobat reader on my laptop.
My OS is Vista Home Premium.
I had Master collection CS4 installed.
When starting up acrobat reader; i got following error:
failed to load core dll.
I went to the log and this is the explenatoin written in there: (i'm dutch speaking)
Kan activeringscontext voor 'C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\AcroRd32.dll' niet maken. Fout in manifest of beleidsbestand '' op regel . I simultaneously had a problem with Dreamweaver.
I think all this is caused by an Side By Side configuration issue.
I've tried to do following steps:
-redistibrutable 2008 c++ package geinstall
-system recoverage tool
-reinstall cs4 master collection
-uninstall master collection, clean up, install reeware acrobat reader
-uninstall acrobat reader, ccleaner register issues resolver , also older than 24 uur , reboot, install acrobat reader freeware
-revo uninstall tool to remove acrobat
none of the above actions were successful.
What could u suggest or give as a solution.
Atm i'm using an altarnative pdf-reader.
But as i bought the master collection,
i'd rather have my adobe acrobat reader pro and dreamweaver working.
Thanks in advance,
With friendly regards
Anton

Hi Anton
I am sorry, I do not have an answer just a similar problem.
I am no expert, but all these manifest files are to ensure that different developers can ensure that the appropriate versions of common libraries are used by particular versions of their software.
Deatils are below. The original problem was a corrupted manifest file, probably due to a disk error. This resulted in several programs failing to run. In particular I was unable to access backup on my Windows Home Server. From the logs I was able to identify the manifest file in error and located a copy of a file with the same name on another of my computers. Using notepad I then changed the file causing the problem to match the file on the other computer.
This appeared to resolve all my problems.
When the Acrobat Reader updated itself, however, the"failed to load core DLL" message appeared. Simply uninstalling all adobe programs and re-installing makes no difference.
If you have the solution please post.
If not, I will continue to research this problem.
Very best wishes
Graham

• Debugging JSP with standalone OC4J

Hi All,
I am trying to debug a JSP using JDeveloper 10.1.3.2 on standalone OC4J 10.1.3.2 . I find that it is not stopping at the breakpoints I have set. My settings in the global-web-application.xml are as follows
<servlet>
<servlet-name>JDevOJSP</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet</servlet-class>
<init-param>
<param-name>check_page_scope</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>debug_mode</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>developer_mode</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>encode_to_java</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>emit_debuginfo</param-name>
<param-value>true</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>jspjavacompiler</param-name>
<param-value>oracle.jdevimpl.jsp.JspOjcCompiler</param-value>
</init-param>
<init-param>
<param-name>jspcompiler</param-name>
<param-value>oracle.jdevimpl.jsp.JspOjcCompiler</param-value>
</init-param>
<load-on-startup>0</load-on-startup>
</servlet>
However when I try accessing the JSP(test.jsp) from the browser, I get an error saying _test.class is not found.
I verified this by checking under the application-deployments folder and I found that the .java & .class files are not created under the persistence\_pages folder.
So I changed the entry in global-web-application.xml as follows to get the .java & .class files generated
<servlet>
<servlet-name>JDevOJSP</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>oracle.jsp.runtimev2.JspServlet</servlet-class>
</servlet>
Once they are generated, I reverted the setting back to as it was before and tried to debug the JSP. But still it does not find the break points
I have jdev-rt.jar,xmlparserv2.jar,ojc.jar & jdev-remote.jar in <OC4J_HOME>/lib folder.
I am starting OC4J with OJVM option debug mode listening to port 4000 and I have configured my project in JDeveloper for remote debugging.Please let me know where I am going wrong.
Thanks in advance,
Prasanna

• Has anyone had a WebService running on standalone OC4J 101300 / 101310

I am trying to run the most basic of webservices on these containers - what was achieved within minutes on IBM WAS 6.0, JBoss 4.0 and WLS 9.1 is just not getting possible with this release of the container!
Initially thought it was a deployment / code issue - but have been consistently able to take the same WSDL and generate the WebService (and deploy) on other containers except OC4J. The same service runs successfully within JDev embedded OC4J.
Using JDeveloper, I was able to generate both top-down and bottom-up services. Neither got deployed - either through uploading the EAR file, ANT build file, JDeveloper deploy to connections etc...
Even tried changed entries in the server.xml and the default-web-site.xml file - but it is of no use.
No extra libraries were added - same results were obtained even with a fresh install of the container in this environment: WinXP Pro + JDK 1.5.2_09 + OC4J 101300 / 101310.
All these come back with the same error:

This doesn't help with your specific issue, but it's an example of a WS being generated in JDeveloper then deployed to a separate standalone OC4J 10.1.3.1.0 instance.
The WS was created from a simple Java class like yours, then deployed using JDeveloper remote connection to a separate OC4J instance.

So it does work. What the specific problem is with your situation, one of our WS PMs most likely be able to help with.
The error you have:
2006-11-16 20:01:15.764 WARNING java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.dom.DeferredElementNSImpl
Is strange -- can you check your WAR file and see if there are other libraries in the WEB-INF/lib that may be being loaded?
Do you have xerces-impl.jar or anything like that in the JRE/lib directory of your JDK?
cheers
