  • Concatenation of Data from 4 infoobjects into a single cell in Bex Report

    Hi,
I have loaded ODS with the description data. The source system for loading the ODS is the flat file. The ODS data should be a replica of the flat file.
In the flat file, there is a description field corresponding to a particular ID. This Description is greater than the standard 60 char length. So, I had to split the description while loading the flat file using single line routine in the Transfer Structure.
So, while loading different  the data, I split the description field data from the flat file into 4 infoobjects and the flat file data was loaded into the ODS.
Now, from the reporting point of view, I need to display the entire description data from the 4 info-objects into a single cell in the Bex report.
Please suggest a solution for this.

  • Text elements in the Bex Report

    Bex Gurus,
When we execute the Bex report, it will display with icons on top as Chart, Filter and Information - Information will display all the text elements as standard. Right now I want to modify these standard elements and disply the text elements which are more meaningful to any business user when they execute any report/query in Bex
    Left Side:
    Current User     II79747
    InfoProvider     ZBYDCTBUD
    Status of Data     04/18/2008 10:01:05
    Query Technical Name     Y_ZBYDCTBUD_VP_POOL
Query Description     VP Matrix by Pool - Actual
Right Side: (based on Variable Enteries/selection)
    Fiscal Year
    Posting Period
    Value Type
    Version:
I want to implement this in Bex excel report when we click on Informaion icon which will show the text elements as explaiend above. (I know it is possible with WAD when we design the code)

You may do this in a workbook inserting Buttons in design mode.
I dont think so there is an easy way to accomplish this when a report is executed.
May be possible with lot of coding....

  • Cumulation problem in BEX REPORT?

    hi,
i am generating reporting FISCAL PERIOD WISE. the values of standard price(OPRICE_STD), moving average price(0PRICE_AVG) values are basically coming from R/3 directly.
0fiscper    Company period            std price           mov avg price
    2009001     20090101                      40                         50
    2009001     20090102                      40                         50
    2009001     20090103                      40                         50
    2009001     20090104                      40                         50
no, when i run the report by fiscal period the values are showing 160 instead of 40, and 200 instead of 50 respectively.
when u drill down the values are 40,50 only for the company period wise. but how to display overall result as 40 for std price, and 50 for mov avg price in the bex report. that means how to do it in bex query designer.
    regards
    vadlamudi

thanks one and all , that problem has been resolved.
i have created structure for material types( Ingredients, packaging materials in rows)
when i execute the query by fiscal period the values which are showing is very high in the final result.
when i drill down by material and keyfigure(formula) values are not matching with the final result.
and if we execute by material wise rather than period wise the values are perfect.
    pl tell me the solutio

  • Inventory days of supply bex report

    Hi experts,
I am working on inventory days of supply bex report which i would like some help on. I do know that we have a standard query for this, however i feel standard wont fit the requirement completely. We have around 3-4 plants. Each plant will have list of material codes which will be maintained in its inventory. These material code are not unique to a plant i.e one material can be stocked for multiple place at various storage locations.
Now where this gets tricky is that material have been classified based on their criticality. for Ex M1001 is classified non critical for plant1001,however this same material code  m1001 can be classified as non critical for plant 1002.
I was wondering if any one could help me in the changes i would need to do in my standard inventory flow to incorporate this requirement. The user requirement is that he should have plant and material classification in the drilldown .
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi Rahul
Since you have your classifications in MARC then use material plant infoobject (0mat_plant) if you can find in the std ds your field then activate as navigational and use it in your report.
    Thank you

  • ODS reporting without Bex  Reporting activated

    Hello
As part of a review I have been doing on our current BW data loading strategy I have uncovered a number of ODS objects that have the Bex reprorting indicator active. The consequence of this is that it has a negative impact on performance when loading data into BW, particularly if we have to re-initialise the data.
We currently do not actually report off the ODS object and from the research I have done the consensus seems to be that you should leave the bex reporting indicator turned off unless absolutely necessary and to use an infoset for reporting.
In the coming week we will be faced with having to reload 15 millions+ records back into these ODS objects after doing a redesign so thought it a good time to untick this option.
I should mention that we are using a BW 3.5 system.
Any comments would be appreciated and if the preference is to use an infoset, then can someone give a practical example why you would ever want to set an ODS to allow bex reporting other than the obvious response of not wanting to create an infoset Would i be correct in stating that I wouldn't be able to use indexes to aid performance if i use infosets. I'm reluctant to pass this data into an infocube given the amount of data as it contains asset transaction postings.
An additional side question which is more for my personal interest is whether it is true that it is not preferential to include ODS objects (or infosets) within a multiprovider given that strictly speaking the ODS object is not multi-dimensional. I recently read this in an article and had not considered this before so was wondering if it is correct.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
    Regards
    Mark

    Hi Christoper
Thank you for your response. You seem very passionate about not reporting on ODS objects
What I do find interesting is that there are a number of standard content ODS objects which do have the bex reporting indicator active.
I'm forming the view that if you do not have performance issue considerations loading data into ODS objects and you can control the amount of data selected via reporting using indexes and query restrictions etc then an ODS is still useful for reporting or alternatively the infoset option. That said, this does not apply to the ODS objects I was referring to in my main post and I will be deselecting the bex reporting indicator before re-initialising the data.
I have always been led to believe by people who know more about BW than myself that the infocube is designed for summarised / targeted multidimensional data and that storing line item information in an infocube seems to be contrary to this position.
Our current design approach standard in that we load data into a staging layer (Generally ODS objects, most of which do not allow bex reporting, and some of which contain line item information), then into a transformation layer (generally infocubes) and finally we report out of multi-providers in our reporting layer.
Our general reporting strategy has been that operational style reports which would include line item reporting should be done within ECC and all other strategic, summarised reporting etc is delivered in BW.

    Venkata,
It is very easy to create such report.
    1. Open the BEx Query Designer
    2. IF you are using 7.0 you will see tabs with Filter and Rows/Colum
    3. Goto Rows/ Column
4.You must be using KEy Figures for Years of Exp, Years of  Service
    drag those in the rows
    5. SAve the query and execute it using the BEx Analyzer. Open Query.

  • OPEN VIEW button missing in BEx report

    Hello!
When I open BEx report, I can see buttons for managing report. I can see SAVE VIEW, BOOKMARK, VARIABLE SCREEN, Exceptions and Conditions, COMMENTS, EXPORT TO EXCEL, EXPORT TO CSV.
I have SAP BW 7.0 installation.
Button OPEN VIEW is missing, although I saw this button in one other 7.0 BW installation. Why is this button missing?
On WAD reports I can put this button on report.
    Thank you
    Gorazd

    Hello,
Is this Java Web or Abap Web?
Due you are on BW 700, I assume you aer using Java.
First, the Open View button doesn't exist.
You have to click on New Analysis and select View.
However, per I can see you don't have New Analysis button.
Ensure you are using the standard SAP templates.
Go to RSCUSTV27 and let all fields blank.
    Then, re-active the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN template.
    This should works...
    Kind regards,

  • XML Publisher Report in EBS without Standard Oracle Report

    Hi folks ,
    i have some questions.
Can I create a XML Publisher Report for the EBS without a Standard Oracle Report in EBS.
So that I can build up the files with the Desktop Publisher, create Data Definition / Template with Upload / Create the executable und concurrent and than only start the new program in EBS ?
I have the situation that I can start my program with the template in the background but ít is searching for the report on the file system.
Thanks in advance for the feedback.
    regards
    Kay

    Hi Ravi ,
can i do it only with the xml Publisher , because when i tried it in the past and get all the staff like Template / DD / CP up and running and started the CR i get an error from the system that he is missing a report directly in the file system... so he searched for the report himself on system like a standard 6i Report. But the template and the dd is stored in the db. So my question again, can I use the XML Puplisher without a Standard Report or can i use a dummy file only for checking and after that he use my template / dd.
    regards
    Kay

  • Header and Footer in a BEx report

    Hi Everyone,
I have a requirement where I need to provide a space for the user to sign-off with their name and signature at the bottom of the print-out of a BEx report. For this purpose I need to provide a space at the bottom of the report where the user can write their names and sign-off. It should be something like:
    Name: _________________________________-
    Signature: _______________________________
    Date: ___________________________________
Is there some way I can add all this as the footer text in the BEx query?
    Thanks,
    Ram

If the BEx query can use a "structure" in the rows section....
Under last row, add a selection = company code, set it not equal to the company code, & change the description =
    NAME:  ____________________________________________
Then, copy the above row, but change description to =
    SIGNATURE: _____________________________________
Repeat, copy the above row, change description =
    DATE:  ____________________________________
If you want to add blank lines, copy one of these rows, but change description = a period = .
By setting the restriction <> to the real company code, then that row should be blank straight across, except for the description.
A better/more professional looking option is to put the BEx query into a web template, add 3 HTML rows under the query result table, add text per your specs.  Then save web template to the appropriate role/folder to publish it on the portal.
