Broadcasting Bex Report via email

Hi
I just want to know how can we broadcast Bex report from EP Portal to Email.
When I execute a Bex report, upon rt click I get to see Broadcast and Export Option.
Can anybody explains me in detail how can we broadcast a Bex Query via email.
Please explain me in detail how we make setting at Portal End, in BI.
Is standard templates say 0analy.. is something to do with all these. like if I want to add a new feature in the Broadcast and Export setting say Export to Excel 2000.

You can use ABAP program RSRD_BORADCAST_STARTER with the variant value set to Broadcaster Technical Name.

reports6i sends mails where the Report itself is attached as a file in the format you specified. The support for sending a report as part of the HTML mail body is provided in Reports9i.

Hi Zahid
From Forms 6.0, you need to call Reports using standard SRW.Run_Product call. Please refer to the product document for other SRw calls which can be used for Forms/Reports integration. In this SRW call, you need to sent the runtime argument to Reports. In your case, write a pl/sql code which would set the destype=mail, desformat=html and desname set to the email address for reciever which you would be fetching from DB in Forms application. And then send these arguments in the SRW call to run the Reports.

Send BEx report by email?

BEx report is integrated into EP. We want to know can we send the report (URL link or result) to others by email? How?
I noticed there is a "Send" button on the BEx report, but it seems it does not work.
NetWeaver 2004s for BI and EP, SP 9.

Great! Broadcasting works for us.
I found the URL sent by broadcaster is an BW URL, such as http://bwFQDN:8001/xxxxxxxx, not an EP URL. We've integrated BEx into EP, and EP is integrated with LDAP, so no active password exist for users in BW ABAP system. The problem is when I click the URL and was pointed to BW directly, I can not pass the authentication.
Is there a way to send the URL linked to EP?

Bursting Reports via email with seperate email address for each page

I have been reading "Oracle® Application Server Reports Services Publishing Reports to the Web" (most specifically chapter 15 Creating Advanced Distributions) trying to figure this out but still having difficulty getting my head around it.
I am trying to email invoices when applicable. Here is the "perfect world scenario".
Report is scheduled to run once a day.
Any qualifying invoices are picked up in the run.
If there is an email address associated with the record the invoice is sent via email. (email address would be included on report and variable)
If no email address is associated, the invoice is printed.
There could/would be several different invoices on a single run.
Does this mean I have to write dynamically write a distribution.xml file for each run or can I pass the email address as a variable to the distribution.xml?

Hi !
You're able to use Report-Variables (e.g. from a Group in the Data Model) in the distribution.xml-File to send email to different adresses.
Just bear in mind that you also need to set the "repeat-on" Property of the relevant layout section and use a "foreach"-Loop in the distribution.xml.
So, no, no "dynamic" building of xml-Files necessary (though we do it at times...).

I would, however, run the report twice, once for "all email-invoices" with email-distribution file, once for "all invoices w/o email-adress" with (probably) printer-distribution file, as "exception" handling inside a distribution.xml could be a bit awkward...

Sorry if this is not the correct forum. It's both a forms and reports question, but I think it fits better in the reports forum. I have queried into the forums for similar questions and found some threads without any replies around this same issue. I wish I am lucky today.
I have developed some web forms which generate pdf and txt reports. The latter ones make use of desformat=delimiteddata when calling the reports. They run fine. I have also developed one form which suscribes those reports to email addresses. To do so, I am setting those email addresses in the DESNAME reports parameter and setting DESTYPE parameter as MAIL. They arrive as an attachment with pdf or txt extensions.
Now, I am required to deliver those reports as xls files. I have been reading that desformat=spreadsheet would allow me to do so (as well as formatting the reports and make them look "cuter" than by using just delimiteddata), but have been unable to do it so far. When setting desformat=spreadsheet, reports are sent via email as html attachments, and when they are opened they look awful. Is there any way I can do this? It shouldn't be a too big deal, but I feel completely unable.

Problems in Broadcasting BEx Workbook through email

I am having this problem for quite some time now i have also searched SDN for related articles but to no avail kindly help me out anyone plss plss; i am having problems broadcasting workbooks via email; i get the following error:

Hardware Error Reporting Via Email

Hello All
I have a question i hope someone can help me out with.
what i want to know is if there is a oem and or third part software that would send you server errors (mainly looking at windows) via emails. For example: if a hardware issue was to arise with lets say a HDD or some other component and the error is logged.
Would i be able to get a program to send me that error via email automatically every time an issue arises with a any hardware component or software.

what you really need is a monitoring tool. Something like say System Center Operation Manager, nagios, HP SIM...
Many OEMS (HP, Dell, IBM/Lenovo,..) offer specific tools and configuratiotns for server grade hardware. this mostly consists of an IPMI with some vendor specifics (think HP ILO, Dell iDrac,..). this is modelspecific hardware to monitor (and configure) the
hardware. Most of these can send out emails.
Yous should never rely on the local server (only) to alert you of problems; it might be on fire when it needs to send out that mail! Have dedicated monitoring hardware.

Hi Vijay!
its very simple. just go to any of the form and on the top left side you will find a icon for "post new topic" if you click that that will take you to new post and there you can type yopu question. if the radio button below that windo showing to mark it as question is clicked then you can reward points to the answers. then your post will be displayed as a seperate thread with the subject that you have given while creating it.
and for viewing the answers its same as what you did with this post. just click on the topic like you did now.

Quiz reporting via Email. Can I have your recommendations please?

I'm building a questionnaire via Captivate 4 which is to be distributed throughout all users in my organisation. For about half of the people I am able to distribute this quiz via a LMS so that I can get the tracking/reporting back via SCORM 2004.
Unfortunately I am not able to use this method of tracking for the rest of the people (who are stationed in our retail branches). The IT network bandwidth in these branches are so small and already occupied by other softwares, our IT team would not let me use the network (or the LMS) to distribute the questionnaire. The only option I've got is to save the questionnaire package in each branch PC and use the Email reporting facility on Captivate to get the scores back from the learners.
So I want to find out from other users (like yourself!) about how your experience was with this Email reporting feature (if you have used it at all). Browsing through Adobe Captivate forums (including this one) I am got the vibe that its not a very reliable function. Saying that.. most of those threads are quite old (posted couple of years ago). So I am hoping whether Adobe have fixed any of these bugs by now and if this functionality has become more reliable.

You'd have to try harder than that to offend me.
My personal bugbear is people getting blamed for things that are not their fault, especially when no apology is forthcoming to the people maligned. It's not me you need to apologise to. It's all those hardworking souls at Adobe who you claim "let you down" for something that was most likely totally outside their control.
Let's say for argument's sake YOU were Adobe, and you include a feature in a software app, because people said they want it, and then this feature doesn't work for reasons that are NOT your fault. Wouldn't YOU feel YOU were being unfairly treated if someone said it was YOU that let them down when the real reason is something else? I definitely would.
Adobe isn't going to step in and tell you you're being unfair. But if that's the way I see it, count on me to defend them, just as I would defend YOU if I thought you were getting a raw deal from another person on this list.
I don't have a problem with people complaining about features in Captivate that genuinely don't work as advertised. I've done that myself. Ask anyone on the Captivate DEV team or the Pre-release team.
So by all means express your opinion. This list is as open as any you'll find in the IT world. Just don't count on everyone here agreeing with you when the facts don't support your allegations.

Delivery Confirmation when distributing Reports via email

I have setup a report that distributes based on the mail ID in the group header. Is there a way to report if each mail ID was sent successfully? I am using reports server 9.0.4.2.

SMTP server has worked for HFM to send mail.
I have a question. Where are the area's that I need to modify the file.
I update.
1. fr_global.properties file with SMTPmailserver
2. Navigate -> Administer ->Notification

Broadcasting BEx report using custom date

Hello All,
Presently we are broadcasting reports where for every period change we are manually changing the period and broadcasting it.
Eg: P1 starts from 13th Jan, 2014, ends on 10th Feb, 2014 and P2 starts from 11th Feb, 2014, ends on 12th March, 2014.
So, when P1 ends we are manually changing the period value to P2 and broadcasting it.
Is there a way by which we can automate the process where at every period change the period value will get changed and the report will get broadcasted without any manuall intervention. I heard that it is possible to do it using a custom table where the period start and end date will be maintained and trigger the broadcast through process chain.
Can you please help me out with it?

Yes it is very much possible.The broadcasting settings which you create gets stored in the table
RSRD_SETT_NODE_A
You should create one test broadcast setting by giving proper technical name through RSRT and then check if you can find the same in the mentioned table or not.
If you have the entry there then you can update the table based on your logic through custom program.

How can I set up a daily report of all the data collected from my form to email to the authors and readers of that form?
