Standard dynpro field input "help"

For any editable field when user enter value, this value is remeberd by SAP client, and later last few of them can be chosen in "drop down" list. I want to disable this "feature" for particular field, for example for quantity entering in document position list when this old values are useless but this appearing "drop down" list make entering data "harder".

Hi,
Not sure if this is possible for one field.
Goto SE80 or SE38 and pres ALT + F12.
Then select Options there.
Then goto Local Data tab.
There under Histroy select Turn off and click on clear history.

  • Dynpro field: value help via function module

    Hi all!
    I've got a subscreen with an input field. We would like to use function module RH_OBJID_REQUEST_46A to create a popup where the user is able to select values.
    In a normal report I would do this with AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR. I wonder how it to do it in a dynpro? Is it neccessary to implement a search help and call the function module in a search exit?
    Thank you a lot!

  • Input Help in BSP application

    Hi,
    I need to associate standard and custom input helps to a custom field in the standard BSP of Opportunity in the Details tab. I don't know nothing about this so where can I find some documentation?
    I want to understand the meaning of:
    Field Name --> Obj. Type
    Method
    Field --> Object ID
    Field Name --> Method
    Example:
    How the standard Input help COMM_BUPA_SEARCH for the field PROSPECT_LIST is linked to the standard Search Help BUPA?
    How can I create a custom Input help?
    Thanks a lot,
    Sara

    Hi Shailaja,
    I've recuperated the PCUI book and I'm implementing the method FILL_DROPDOWN_LISTBOX but I have an error in htmlb code:
    <htmlb:dropdownlistbox>: (table) Table does not have FIELDNAME column from nameOfKeyColumn attribute
    What does it mean? I'm using the standard BSP so I don't have the html code.
    Have you any idea?

  • Getting the value of a dynpro field in an exit for a standard search help.

    Hallo Experts!
    I need to modify the selected data displayed in standard sap search help: H_T357
    What I've done is create an exit for the search help.
    Then, when CALLCONTROL-STEP = 'DISP' I use the function module F4UT_PARAMETER_VALUE_GET and I get the value of the parameter 'WERKS' correctly. I think that this function module can only obtain values from the parameters of the search help. Well, here is the problem, I would like to get the values of dynpro fields
    'ILOA-STORT' and 'VIQMEL-QMART' (warning type) in transaction IW21.
    I prefer not to add these fields as parameters to the standard search help: H_T357.
    Any ideas for getting the value of these fields? I've seen functions modules: F4UT_GET_ENVIRONMENT and F4UT_SH_SIC_GET_FIELDS. But I don't know if I can use them  for my porpuses.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hello again,
    I have already solved the problem using function module 'DYNP_VALUES_READ'.
    Thanks, David.

    That is not true that this is the only way.  The standard Data Dictory based search help can return more than one value as long as there are multiple exporting values defined in the search help, the search help is attached to a Data Dictionary Structure, and this same data dictionary structure is used as the source of the context node. You can read more about this in the online help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/47/9f724642314aabe10000000a42189b/frameset.htm
    The Note section under Integration:
    If an input help structure is stored in a field in the ABAP Dictionary, and if you want to use the field mapping of search help parameters stored in the ABAP Dictionary as the field name for the structure for your Web Dynpro input help, then map your context nodes to this structure. This ensures that all components of the structure are available dynamically at runtime as attributes of the node.
    If the context node is not mapped to the structure, the data element's input help can be used if there is one.

  • Need some help in creating Search Help for standard screen/field

    I need some help in adding a search-help to a standard screen-field.
    Transaction Code - PP01,
    Plan Version - Current Plan (PLVAR = '01'),
    Object Type - Position ( OTYPE = 'S'),
    Click on Infotype Name - Object ( Infotype 1000) and Create.
    I need to add search help to fields Object Abbr (P1000-SHORT) / Object Name (P1000-STEXT).
    I want to create one custom table with fields, Position Abb, Position Name, Job. Position Abb should be Primary Key. And when object type is Position (S), I should be able to press F4 for Object Abb/Object Name fields and should return Position Abbr and Position Name.
    I specify again, I have to add a new search help to standard screen/field and not to enhance it.
    This is HR specific transaction. If someone has done similar thing with some other transation, please let me know.
    There is no existing search help for these fields. If sm1 ever tried or has an idea how to add new search help to a standard screen/field.
    It's urgent.
    Thanks in advace. Suitable answers will be rewarded

    A search help exit is a function module for making the input help process described by the search help more flexible than possible with the standard version.
    This function module must have the same interface as function module F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE. The search help exit may also have further optional parameters (in particular any EXPORTING parameters).
    A search help exit is called at certain timepoints in the input help process.
    Note: The source text and long documentation of the above-specified function module (including the long documentation about the parameters) contain information about using search help exits.
    Function modules are provided in the function library for operations that are frequently executed in search help exits. The names of these function modules begin with the prefix F4UT_. These function modules can either be used directly as search help exits or used within other search help exits. You can find precise instructions for use in the long documentation for the corresponding function module.
    During the input help process, a number of timepoints are defined that each define the beginning of an important operation of the input help process.
    If the input help process is defined with a search help having a search help exit, this search help exit is called at each of these timepoints. If required, the search help exit can also influence the process and even determine that the process should be continued at a different timepoint.
    timepoints
    The following timepoints are defined:
    1. SELONE
    Call before selecting an elementary search help. The possible elementary search helps are already in SHLP_TAB. This timepoint can be used in a search help exit of a collective search help to restrict the selection possibilities for the elementary search helps.
    Entries that are deleted from SHLP_TAB in this step are not offered in the elementary search help selection. If there is only one entry remaining in SHLP_TAB, the dialog box for selecting elementary search helps is skipped. You may not change the next timepoint.
    The timepoint is not accessed again if another elementary search help is to be selected during the dialog.
    2. PRESEL1
    After selecting an elementary search help. Table INTERFACE has not yet been copied to table SELOPT at this timepoint in the definition of the search help (type SHLP_DESCR_T). This means that you can still influence the attachment of the search help to the screen here. (Table INTERFACE contains the information about how the search help parameters are related to the screen fields).
    3. PRESEL
    Before sending the dialog box for restricting values. This timepoint is suitable for predefining the value restriction or for completely suppressing or copying the dialog.
    4. SELECT
    Before selecting the values. If you do not want the default selection, you should copy this timepoint with a search help exit. DISP should be set as the next timepoint.
    5. DISP
    Before displaying the hit list. This timepoint is suitable for restricting the values to be displayed, e.g. depending on authorizations.
    6. RETURN (usually as return value for the next timepoint)
    The RETURN timepoint should be returned as the next step if a single hit was selected in a search help exit.
    It can make sense to change the F4 flow at this timepoint if control of the process sequence of the Transaction should depend on the selected value (typical example: setting SET/GET parameters). However, you should note that the process will then depend on whether a value was entered manually or with an input help.
    7. RETTOP
    You only go to this timepoint if the input help is controlled by a collective search help. It directly follows the timepoint RETURN. The search help exit of the collective search help, however, is called at timepoint RETTOP.
    8. EXIT (only for return as next timepoint)
    The EXIT timepoint should be returned as the next step if the user had the opportunity to terminate the dialog within the search help exit.
    9. CREATE
    The CREATE timepoint is only accessed if the user selects the function "Create new values". This function is only available if field CUSTTAB of the control string CALLCONTROL was given a value not equal to SPACE earlier on.
    The name of the (customizing) table to be maintained is normally entered there. The next step returned after CREATE should be SELECT so that the newly entered value can be selected and then displayed.
    10. APP1, APP2, APP3
    If further pushbuttons are introduced in the hit list with function module F4UT_LIST_EXIT, these timepoints are introduced. They are accessed when the user presses the corresponding pushbutton.
    Note: If the F4 help is controlled by a collective search help, the search help exit of the collective search help is called at timepoints SELONE and RETTOP. (RETTOP only if the user selects a value.) At all other timepoints the search help exit of the selected elementary search help is called.
    If the F4 help is controlled by an elementary search help, timepoint RETTOP is not executed. The search help exit of the elementary search help is called at timepoint SELONE (at the
    F4IF_SHLP_EXIT_EXAMPLE
    This module has been created as an example for the interface and design of Search help exits in Search help.
    All the interface parameters defined here are mandatory for a function module to be used as a search help exit, because the calling program does not know which parameters are actually used internally.
    A search help exit is called repeatedly in connection with several
    events during the F4 process. The relevant step of the process is passed on in the CALLCONTROL step. If the module is intended to perform only a few modifications before the step, CALLCONTROL-STEP should remain unchanged.
    However, if the step is performed completely by the module, the following step must be returned in CALLCONTROL-STEP.
    The module must react with an immediate EXIT to all steps that it does not know or does not want to handle.
    Hope this info will help you.

  • PA30 - Personnel Number field greyed out - No input help available.

    Hi Experts,
    In our System in DEV, & Quality  in PA30, we are unable to select employees either by directly giving the number (greyed out) or by selecting through F4 (No input help is available).
    But in Production System we can directly give Pernr or select through F4.
    Any body tell me what is the reason behind this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Samanvita.

    Hi Hariprasath,
    It is not the issue with NUMKR, The number Ranges are already maintained, and are defaulted in NUMKR feature.
    This is showing same in DEV / QA/ Prod.
    Issue is in DEV / QA,  The Personnel Number Field is Greyed out, and not able to select any number.
    For that we are going to PA20, open the personnel number first, and open PA30 in another window, then we are changing the data of the employee.
    But we want to give Personnel Number in PA30 itself as per SAP Standard.
    Any Idea, why it is like this.
    Thanks,
    Samanvita

  • Disable input help for a webdynpro field in ESS

    I need to disable the drop down capability of a field in ESS (field is "Bank Key" available in the ESS page "Bank Information"). So I need the field to stay visible and ready for input... I just want the input help to not show up (the entries in the input help are not applicable to the user and they confuse them).  how can I do that?
    Tiberiu
    Edited by: Tiberiu Sasu on Apr 27, 2010 11:25 PM

    Just throwing ideas around...
    you could create a custom field which is of the same length as bank key - but no value helps etc assigned to it. Add this into the CI_append structure of the bank details structure used by ESS.
    Then in the inbound and outbound mappings - UI conversion class BAdIs move the bank key to and from this plain text field and into the "real" bank key field.
    You could then "decorate" the iView with the additional customer field and hide the standard bank key field.
    Sounds like a lot of bother! But depends on how much you dislike modifying standard WD Java apps (personally I'd put that in the definitely worthwhile basket - maintenance after support packs on WD Java is not fun!)
    Cheers,

    Thanks for very helpful reply. After implementing the suggested SAP note, I am able to see the getter and setter methods.
    So one of my problem has got solved with your kind help:)
    As per your another suggestion,I have created the enhanced fields without the search help from AET in the node BTAdminI with names Plant(ZZPLANT) and Storage Location(ZZStoarge_Loc).
    Now I am facing below problem:
    Since Plant needs to autopopulated by Storage Location (search Help ZOFI_SHLP_STORAGE_LOC),So I need to Implement Getter setter method.
    I have written below code into Get_V_ZZStorage_Loc Method:
    method GET_V_ZZSTORAGE_LOC.
      DATA:

  • I defaulted input help field (pick list) but SAP CRM still asking for one

    We are running SAP CRM 7.0.
    Some fields as you know are dialog / pick list fields.
    What I mean by this is they are input help fields where you
    can click a little square (in sap crm 7.0) to the right of the text box
    and it brings up a dialog screen of values that you can select from.
    Here is an example screen shot of what I am talking about:
    http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/5676/imageschak.png
    So what I have done is implemented the GETTER function for this input help field so that by default it has a value.
    The code is like so:
    method GET_CURRENCY.
    CALL METHOD SUPER->GET_CURRENCY
      EXPORTING
        ATTRIBUTE_PATH = attribute_path
       ITERATOR       = iterator
      RECEIVING
        VALUE          = value.
          if value eq ''.
            IF sy-langu EQ 'E'.
              VALUE = 'USD'.
            elseif sy-langu EQ 'D'.
              VALUE = 'EUR'.
            ENDIF.
          endif.
    endmethod.
    Here even is a link to this method that I created: Field Currency of Context Node BTADMINH - How to set default
    The method works great it sets the default of the currency to say USD.  When I click the create button to create an opportunity the field currency is set to USD, this is great because it makes my job easier that I dont have to click the input help button and select a currency, it is already there.
    But once I click the "Save" button for an opportunity I get a small error in the error notification box that tells me I need to select a currency!  But why is this happening a currency already exists?  So If I click the input help (the little button) and reselect the currency value USD then save my opportunity this error goes away.
    The question is why does this happen?  I need it so that the default currency value is recognized by the SAP CRM system.  Why do I have to go back in and re-select the currency if it is already set?  Is there some sort of consistency check or something I need to do to eliminate this problem?
    Here is a screen shot after creating an opportunity with the default Currency set to USD (this means I did not select USD in the dialog input help it was defaulted by the getter method:
    http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/3011/enteracurrency.png
    Only if I go back into edit mode and actually click the little square to bring up the dialog of values and select USD does this error go away.  Why does this happen ?

    I called SET_CURRENCY right after setting my value and the error is now gone.
      SET_CURRENCY( EXPORTING ATTRIBUTE_PATH = ATTRIBUTE_PATH
                    iterator = iterator
                    value = value ).
    Got the tip from Pieter who has a good blog on SAP CRM: http://sapcrmweblog.blogspot.com/
