Standard ESS components missing!!!

Hi Experts,
I am working on ESS components in WD ABAP. But there is a problem the standard ESS componets for travel and expense which strats with prefix FITE are missing in Sandbox system and production system. But these components are available in development system. What could be the reason for it and the preffered solution in this case. Please help.

Hi,
Make sure the FITE* and FITV* services are activated in transaction "SICF" under the path: default_host --> sap --> bc --> webdynpro --> sap.

For our client, they need a report for missing parts analysis at production order operation level. Do we have any such standard report in the SAP?

1. List: Components, Layout: Standard layout          set the Missing part
       It shows the component requirement/withdrawn quantity for each operation of production order. It is not showing the commit quantity.
2. List: Components, Layout: Pick list          set the Missing part
       It shows the component requirement/withdrawn quantity for each production order.
3. List: Components, Layout: Missing Parts List-Material View          set the Missing part
       It shows the component requirement/commit quantity for each production order. It is not showing the commit quantity at opertion level.
4. List: Components, Layout: Missing Parts List-Order View          set the Missing part
       It shows the component requirement/commit quantity for each production order. It is not showing the commit quantity at opertion level.
      We are unable to get the solution from all these 1 to 4 reports from COOIS.
Do we have any option to change the existing layout (ex: 3 ) to get the commit quantity for operation with missing parts indicator?
If avilable, what is the procedure to be followed?

I have a problem with Transport the personalization of standard ess compone

I have a problem with Transport the personalization of standard ess component.
My problem is in several components, such as:
portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.roles/
com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service/
com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_personal_information/persinfo_es/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.13.pdata
I have personalized this page (into rol, not directly in the page), with Ctrl+Right button.
Now i transport the rol, from Development to Quality environment, but i don't see the changes in Quality.
My system is NW 7.01 SP7, Can be that the problem?
Any idea to solve this problem?

"If an iView is transported to another portal all these properties are
also transported. This is needed to make sure that role-specific changes
could be transported together with the role. End user personalization
data is NOT transported in this way as end user personalization is only
local to the current portal."
Could you please ensure that personalization was done by an admin user?
I'm afraid that if it was done by an end user, personalization isn´t
transported as it's explained in the documentation provided.
Could you please confirm whether you are using exactly the same language
to access to both systems, development and quality? Maybe you are using
language en(us) in one system and en(gb) in the other one. Please take
into account that personalization is language specific.
From the web dynpro end, the WebDynpro personalization is stored
NOT in the PCD prior to 710 release. And as such it cannot be included
in a portal role transport. This feature is available with NW 7.10 SP2
or later (from webdynpro point stand). The best option is to
go with NW 7.30 as this is the first NetWeaver release with EP since
NW 7.02.

Standard iViews are missing under MSS ?

I wanted to configure few ivews under MSS. However, I see that some standard ivews are missing. Can someone please help what could be the reason?

This happens when some files are not deployed on the server.In total 5 files are needed for ESS/MSS installation.

How to allow modification of Country key in standard ESS "Adress" Iview ?

Dear all,
In the standard ESS Personal Information Iview and especially "Adress" Iview, the COUNTRY drop down list can't be modified, modification is deactivated, Country drop down list isn't accessible. But I need to let people select their country when they indicate a new adress (emergency, foreign adress, secondary adress...).
In SPRO>ESS>Personal data/information -->I use country 06, infotype 0006, application case 1 permanent residence.
I tried the CTRL+right click method but I can't activate the country "modification" (no button to solve my issue).
I looked at the below thread but I do want to know if there's really no standard way to allow people to modify that usual field?

I've tested it on another system (EHP3 this time) and you need, indeed, to activate business functions (new releases of EHP) in the customizing to allow editing of other country forms. The address iview is a new one too, so no way on an ECC6.0. We tried to search a solution within the abap way but it would generate such a big specific development that I'm not sure we will implement it..

I down load the packages to my NWDS from NWDI.But after down load,I am getting this error."The type AbstractStringBuilder is not visible".
Please suggest me how to resolve this error.

What are the Standard Software Components needed to devolop Portal DC?

I am trying to port the code from local portal project to
DC Portal Project.
i think i have to add dependencies in the 'Used DCS' in the DC Project for the Corresponding Build Path Entries(jars).
But iam not getting the Standard Software Components where i will get the references for

How To hide buttons in standard ESS /MSS applications .

I have implemented standard ESS/MSS business package version mySAP2005 in ECC 6.0. Now in a standard iView buttons like Edit ,Previous ,etc are present . Now how can I hide these buttons ,say Edit button from iview level ?Now since this is Client Requirement .
My main problem is I do not have adequate time to customize the standard applications through coding .Is there any other way to do it ?Thanks in advance for any solution provided quickly as goalive is near .

Open the iview in question and do a CTRL+right click.

Error when importing ESS components into PRD

Hi All,
I am importing ESS components into PRD in NWDI environment. One component goes through with status 'Import finished' but other components give status
'Outdated'. I see the error log and it is empty. What does 'Outdated' status mean.

I have requirement where in which set up is ready ESS/MSS business packges are available in NWDI now my question is......
How to do the modification in certain ESS/MSS standard iviews? using your local machine NWDS?
How will you download the ESS/MSS iviews that are available in NWDS?
My EP server version is EP 7.0 and backend ecc5.0......
Can you guys tell me how to do the changes in standard ESS/MSS stuff that are avaiable in NWDI using your local machine NWDS.
once the changes is done how you will upload the same into NWDI to reflect the changes globally.
Its an urgent requirement....Please provide me step by step approach of the same.

For your 1st Question:
"How to do the modification in certain ESS/MSS standard iviews? using your local machine NWDS?" -
1.After you configured your track for ESS/MSS business package in NWDI try importing the track in NWDI by configuring NWDI server in NWDS, goto Windowsàpreferences-Java Development Infrastructure-Development Configuration
and specify the URL where you have configured your NWDI
2. create a project for the views which you want to modify.
3. Checkout and create a new activity for the DC
4. Make the changes as per your requirement
5. Checkin the activty once you are done with the changes
6.Activate and release
These are all the steps involved in customization of any business package.

Cucm DRS backup components missing 8.6(1a)

hi,
we are in the process of migrating to latest 10 version. the current version is 8.6(1a) CUCM. I tried build the customer exact environment in the lab (same ip/dns .same version of cucm..etc)...finally when I brought the backup to the lab to restore to this newly built cucm, I noticed the cucm drs components which will be listed on the Disaster recovery restore wizard after the tar file has been accessed, missing few components.
for example, in ideal situation you will see the components car,cdpagt,syslogagt,ccmprefs,bat,platform,tct,ccmdb,clm,tftp,moh,ann, reporter. (see attached pic, "supposed to see") but my situation
cdpagt,reporter,bat,tftp,cef,ann,moh components are not shown. thus when I initiate the restore, it fails. this is not to say that customer may have not given all the backup files. I was there when I dragged and dropped in my pc.

resolved it.
all we need to do is deactivate and reactivate the services for the missing components. for ex. if tftp component is missing then we will have to deactivate and reactivate. go to DRS page and check to see if that shows up as component being backed up.. it will show up. I found a bug for this version. but the details of it does not tell you about all the components missing on mine. it only shows tftp component missing. with work around being the same.

Itunes components missing :(

i updated itunes and it now says components missing -42404 and i have completely uninstalled and reinstalled with the same problem 3 times can anybody help me as i now cannot retrieve my music through home share with my sister and my iphone cant be detected

Style sheet of the SAP standard ESS package.

Our client installed the standard ESS package and after adding a theme to portal the dropdowns , calendar widgets doesn't take the style sheet correctly and therefore the dropdowns , calendar widgets and other display attributes doesn't appear properly.
It would be great if any one provide the solution why this is occuring.

Hi Ritushree,
we experienced the same thing a couple of month ago. Some of the ESS/MSS GUI elements were not properly rendered after we applied a new SP (SAP NW 7.0 SPS 9 or SPS 11). As far as I remember SAP promised to fix the probleme in the next SPs.
As a workaround we configured the affected ESS/MSS iViews in a way that they did not use the Portal Theme. As a result the iViews had a slightly different design but the GUI elements were working again.

Enhancing standard webdynpro components

Hi Experts,
I need to change the layout of the standard web dynpro components. I started enhancing the relevant methods in the component controller with pre, post and overwrite methods but when it comesto the UI, after enhancing the componenet if i go to the enhancement to change the UI it is changing the standard UI. In my case the requirement is grouping the UI elements on the SAP standard Webdynpro components and change the format of the data on the screen.Can you please provide suggestions on how to enhance the web dynpro layout without modifying the layout? Please feel freeto askme for further info on the same.

hallo Ravi,
You can delete the layout and create a new layout with the changes you needed. for example the standard UI consists a group with layout as flowlayout.
You have to delete this group and create the group with same name and change the layout to Matrix layout.
