Cucm DRS backup components missing 8.6(1a)

hi,
we are in the process of migrating to latest 10 version.  the current version is 8.6(1a) CUCM.  I tried build the customer exact environment in the lab (same ip/dns .same version of cucm..etc)...finally when I brought the backup to the lab to restore to this newly built cucm, I noticed the cucm drs components which will be listed on the Disaster recovery restore wizard after the tar file has been accessed, missing few components.
for example, in ideal situation you will see the components car, cdpagt, syslogagt, ccmprefs, bat, platform, tct, ccmdb, clm, tftp, moh, ann, reporter. (see attached pic, "supposed to see") but my situation
cdpagt, reporter, bat, tftp, cef, ann, moh components are not shown.  thus when I initiate the restore, it fails.  this is not to say that customer may have not given all the backup files. I was there when I dragged and dropped in my pc.

resolved it.
all we need to do is deactivate and reactivate the services for the missing components.  for ex. if tftp component is missing then we will have to deactivate and reactivate.  go to DRS page and check to see if that shows up as component being backed up.. it will show up. I found a bug for this version.  but the details of it does not tell you about all the components missing on mine. it only shows tftp component missing. with work around being the same.
thanks

  • CUCM DRS backups to a Synology NAS

Has anyone had any experience with doing CUCM DRS backups to a Synology NAS setup for SFTP. I am having problems getting backups from both the CUCM pub and the PLM server. Basically when defining the backup server it cannot connect via SFTP
Strange thing is if that I connect using WinSCP and the same credentials I'm putting into CUCM it works fine.
    Any ideas welcome!

I am trying to set up the same thing here.
Everything looks good via WinSCP, can log in upload & download files, create directories, etc.
    The CUCM box says:
Unable to save Backup Device successfully. Update failed : Unable to access SFTP server or SFTP server too slow to respond.
I have tried all sorts of values for the path as that is known to be very picky.  None of them make a difference.
I also know it's not "too slow" because that message is returned almost instantly -- no waiting on timeouts.
I did a packet capture on this, which ironically involved me using SFTP to upload the capture file to a Linux box.  The capture shows 13 packets, where there is the initial handshake, then the SSH protocol identifiers, Key Exchange Inits, and then is closed.  The first FIN comes from the synology box, followed by an ACK & FIN from the CUCM.  So this points at the synology not being able to agree with the client and just terminating the connection.
Digging in furhter & comparing the algorithm lists sent by each, it seems they could not agree on a common cipher.

  • CUCM 9.1.2 DRS backup takes extremely long time to complete

Anybody else noticed that DRS backups from CUCM 9.1.2 to a Windows SFTP server (ex: OpenSSH) takes up to 6-7 hours to complete?
Backup to a Linux SFTP server runs fine.
All backup worked fine on Windows or Linux with CUCM 9.1.1.

    Hi Sebastien,
Can you try taking the backup on a machine in the same subnet as cucm and see if the issue persists? Have you tried restarting the DRF MA and LA services yet? Openssh is one of the supported options for DRS backup so you can engage TAC if the issue persists.

  • Restoring single server DRS backup to cluster?

    Hi all,
We are migrating to a new cluster from a single MCS server. I have a DRS backup from the single server, and we have already built up the new Pub and Sub for testing pursposes. We have finished testing and want to migrate. The new hardware has been set up with the same hostname and IP as the existing hardware, so I can just do a DRS restore straight on to the new publisher.
My question is, do I need to restore to the publisher, then rebuild and re-add the subscriber? Or if I simply disconnect the sub, restore to the pub and reconnect the sub, will the database replication take care of it?
All the security passwords and hostnames and IPs will be the same between the old and new hardware.
    Thanks

I suggest that you reinstall the publisher OS, restore the DRS backup, and then reinstall and join the subscriber to the cluster. I say this because there are OS and database-level changes that take place when you add a node to the cluster. The DRS restore will cleanly restore the publisher database and cause the database replication to tear down. It's not documented whether this would clear out the OS-level configuration as well though. If this is production it's not worth the risk of 'maybe'. To be frank, the whole cluster replication setup is a bit touchy.

  • Installed PS, used once, now 'components missing'. How do I reinstall?

I downloaded PS, then used it.  It started immediately and seemed to work fine. Saved and closed application.  Attempted to use again and got message 'components missing' then 'reinstall program'.  Application Manager no help, says all is fine.
So, now I look for help and end up in a forum instead of getting help from Adobe for their program which I paid for.  Who knows how long I'll be down.  Seems a poor system!!

  • Kona Components missing.

I had some work done to my G5 and when I got it back up and running, FCP is telling me that I do not have the proper codec/hardware installed for my timeline settings.
I have a Kona LH card installed, and was previously running all of my timelines in uncompressed 8bit. This option no longer exists in my FCP sequence settings, only 3 10bit compressors. In the Kona control panel, under info, it reads this for /library/quicktime:
    MISSING! - FCP Uncompressed 422.component
    MISSING! - DVCPROHDCodec.component
So my question is this: How do I recover these lost quicktime components so my Kona card will talk to FCP and allow it to use an uncompressed 8bit setting?
I have tried reinstalling/updating the Kona software and tried reinstalling Quicktime.
    Thanks!
      Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I'm not an expert on this, by any means, but last week I got the same "do not have the proper codec/hardware." Scary. This was after I had borrowed a Kona card for a few days to import from HDcam, then removed the card to return to its owner - the Kona software remained. I could no longer open any of my 720p timelines or import P2 files. Tried reinstalls of Final Cut, and Quicktime - no luck. Finally got timelines to open again after doing a clone of everything - OSX, Final Cut, and Quicktime from a cloned backup I made before the Kona card use. This working version now has no Kona drivers or plug-ins or anything. You want your Kona, so I don't know if this is a help, but it seemed that the order of the reinstalls and possibly the OSX had something to do with plug-ins and the folders in which they were installed. Maybe try a reinstall of OSX, then Final Cut, then Quicktime, then Kona. But this is a lot of work and you may want to wait for another more expert opinion.

  • CUCM SERVERS BACKUP PROBLEMS

    Hi,
We can´t make backup of the CUCM servers. The CUCM System version is 8.6.2.22036-1.
    The Database replication is OK.
The Backup completed is the 66% and doesn´t continuous. We try stop the BU but it is not possible. Attached document I send an screenshot of the Backup status.
    Thanks for your help,
    Regards,

    Hi Davd,
I'll just add this bug reference to the good tips from Java (+5 Java-Man!)
Duplicate bug CSCtq70875 is superceded by CSCtc49288 At present, CSCtc49288 is under review, hence the details are not shown
CSCtq70875 - Manual backup job cancellation does not terminate properly
    Description
    Symptom:
Manual Backup process  not getting cancelled for 20 hrs when we hit the cancel button. This is  encountered if SFTP server does not have enough space or there is some  connectivity issue.
    Conditions:
There are various conditions where this situation could be hit :-
    1) SFTP connectivity bad or intermittently lost.
    2) SFTP server does not have space or almost full.
When  a end user or Admin is initiating the manual backup job in this case,  the backup might not be completed because of one of above issues. If  user tries to hit cancel button, the component which is on-going right  now will have to be completed and then only backup will be cancelled.  This can make backup process hang for 20 hours.
In this case, another  backup can not be started. User also can not perform an upgrade until  the on-going backup process is cancelled.
    Workaround:
In CUCM, restart DRS Master, local service and can proceed with manual backup again.
IN CUCMBE3K, customer should tak ecare of following:-
    1) Take backups regulerly and ensure backup copies are saved in moe than 1 SFTP device.
    2) Ensure network connectivity with SFTP server is good.
    3)  Ensure SFTP server has enough space to take backups. If there is very  less space or no space, free some space or use another backup device.

  • Core Audio Components Missing After Clean Install and Update to 10.3.9?

I did a clean install of 10.3.x onto my hard disk and then updated to 10.3.9 through Software Update.
Before this install I'd been running 10.3.9 (my disk crashed -- or so I thought -- hence the re-install of all above). I'd been running a music recording program and taking advantage of Apple's Core Audio AU components (e.g. AUDelay, etc), which should be in /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ or something like that. Now they are missing entirely.
How do I get them back? Where are they to find?
    Thanks!

It was a problem with the 3rd party software -- I hadn't run the installation update to interface with the AU Components -- after the reinstall. Thanks.

  • Windows 7 backup program missing - backup error 0x80070424

    hi guys
pc is win 7 pro with 80gb left on HD
real tough one here which i can't find an answer for or the answers i've found do not work. in the control panel - backup and restore - there is nothing but a blank page (it was working two weeks ago). i do not have an option to backup. the message i get
    is
"the backup application could not start due to an internal error. the specified service does not exist as an installed serveice (0x80070424)"
i have tried some fixes but none work. the reg file
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\wbengine
exists and as far as i can figure out is correct. i have also replaced it with a new reg entry which i downloaded as a fix for the 0x80070424 problem. windows backup service file is not listed in services. also i have updaterd windows in the last two
days which i think accounts for why i only have two restore points - none of which are any good (why would an update delete restore points especailly when i have 80gb ledft on HD?). no i do not have system mechanic installed which has been causing this problem.
i am using windows 7 manager which does have a "1 click cleaner" option which i ran two days ago (did this cause the problem?). i have also ran the win 7 dvd in repair mode with no success.
i do not want to do a full install or even a 'in place upgrade' if i can help it.
anybody any ideas? if not will it 'damage' my machine if i do not run windows backups? i am backing up all my own files but i do this manually
any help would be really appreciated.
    thanks in advance

well i've answered my own question.
so i have a program called windows 7 manager by yamicsoft. there is a function in this program called 'repair all system components'. i thought i'd run it on the slight off chance it would fix my problem and surprisingly it did. so if you have the problem
i did then try running the program above. first thing i did is then do a restore point. however i'm still puzzled why a windows update would delete all my previous restore points?
    hope this helps someone

  • My backup is missing from the list?

We use our Time Capsule for multiple Macs.  Recently my laptop started acting up, (which turned out to be a hard drive problem), but when I logged into the Time Machine to restore the backup to another Mac I don't see my laptop in the list of Backups.  I know that the backups have been running so I was wondering if there is there a way to dig deeper inside the Time Machine and find my backup.
    Thanks,
    Shane

Sounds like you didnt' check the box for it when you went through the application loader process.
Just plug it back in and run application loader again and check the boxes.  It will install the missing apps.

  • Backup/Restore Missed Some Things

Had to swap out my iPhone 4 yesterday for a new one. I had been getting the "No SIM..." message multiple times. Before I went to the Apple store, I did a backup of the phone. When I got home with the new one, I did a restore, selecting the backup which I had just done. After the restore, it did a sync and loaded everything (music, photos, apps, etc) on the new phone. However, there were a couple of things missing.
The main issue was my wireless connections. I had 4 of them setup, but after the restore, they were all gone. I then noticed that the Exchange Server profile for my work email/calendar/contacts was gone. Had to redo that also.
I really don't remember if I went through this when I did the 3g -> 4 upgrade. It was the same scenario; backup the 3G, plug the 4 in and restore.
Did I miss doing something, or shouldn't the restore put the phone back exactly like it was when the backup was done?

    UPDATE:
I discovered that iTunes did not recover ALL of the files on one of the backup DVDs I burned. I restored from the DVD again, using the "delete duplicates" option, and most songs seem to be back. I'm still missing about 100, but I suspect most of these are podcasts, which would have auto-deleted anyway.
FYI: Based on this experience, I STRONGLY suggest doing a library backup periodically, as a precuation. Using the iTunes backup option enables you to keep much of the metadata in your library (playlists and ratings, for instance). Copying your iTunes folder to an external HD as a double precaution isn't a bad idea either.

  • MAX Reports-Initialization Error, Editing Components missing?

Using a NI PXI-1042Q and an 4472B Daq card to capture data.  Running LabVIEW 8.2 on a Windows XP system.  The program controls an MID7604 which controls a motor.  Using a program that was written and is now an executable.  To run the program minor file related inputs are required, the motor moves to calibrate its' position, then a test piece is requested to be adjusted.  After the adjustment, file request information is acknowledged (location for data to be placed is ok'd).
After pressing OK, the following error message is generated:
[ ERROR-200428 occurred at DAQmx Start Task.vi, Possible reasons: Value passed to the Task/Channels In control is invalid.  The value must refer to a valid task or valid virtual channels, Then it identifies the Task Name: __________.]
This of course refers to the Task/Channels IN input of the DAQmx Start Task.vi, which points to the task that was setup, not being setup properly or not there.  In our case, it was there and has somehow been removed.
When going to MAX and trying to setup a new Task:  Data Neighborhood --> Right Click --> Create New NI DAQmx Task,
    the following message is generated:
    !INITIALIZATION ERROR
Some components required for editing are missing.  Please contact National Instruments for more information.
We have already viewed the NI-DAQmx Error-200428 message, and also tried the "How Do I Recover From MAX Database Corruption?" procedure, no change.
    Please respond. Thanks.

Typically with an executable you only have the run-time versions and I don't think you can create a task with just the run-time. Somehow the hardware configuration has been corrupted. If you can find the original .nce file that was used on the development system, you can just import that I believe. Otherwise, you may have to install full versions of DAQmx.
The reliance of existing tasks in MAX is one reason that I avoid them and create everything in the LabVIEW program. Just one thing to keep in mind.
