Standard Logon screen background color

Hello,
I have about 60 domain computers that I would like to change the Logon screen background without having to go to each computer and changing it. Is there a way to push it out through domain GPO or another more productive way.
Also why is my logon screen background different, when I log in remotely to my workstation, then if I logged in at my desk?
Thank you,
Richard

Hi,
Meanwhile, do you mean that you want to change the default logon screen for all computers? To do this, you need to set the regsitry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Authentication/LogonUI/Background
OEMBackground change its value from 0 to 1 We can deploy the registry to all clients via GPP\Registry
or use GPMC.msc to enable Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Logon.
it has the same impacts as the registry above
Then we need to create a new image (less than 256 K) under %windir%\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds\backgrounddefault.jpg.
This can be done via Computer Configuration\Preferences\Windows Settings\Files
I would like to share this detailed guide with you as reference.

  • Change screen background color without any defer

I would like to change the screen background color using the Framed color box.  I can do this using property node. The problem is I cannot update the screen simultaneously as that in VI edit mode. I hope the screen background color can update as the mouse moving on the framed color box.   Does anyone know a solution? Thanks.

Here is an OK cheat.  Dont use a background, make the color box larger than the screen and move to the back most element.  Looks the same but isnt perfect.

  • Screen background color

I'm looking for a way of getting the RGB value of the screen background color (a solid color selected in System Preferences). Possible via Terminal?

I can't see how you can do it in Terminal 'cause none of these show actual RGB value:
    doug-penningtons-power-mac-g4:~ dougp$ file /Library/Desktop\ Pictures/Solid\ Colors/Solid\ White.png
    /Library/Desktop Pictures/Solid Colors/Solid White.png: PNG image data, 128 x 128, 8-bit/color RGB, non-interlaced
    doug-penningtons-power-mac-g4:~ dougp$ file /Library/Desktop\ Pictures/Solid\ Colors/Solid\ Kelp.png
    /Library/Desktop Pictures/Solid Colors/Solid Kelp.png: PNG image data, 128 x 128, 8-bit/color RGBA, non-interlaced

But there is a non Terminal ray of hope with open Apps/Util/DigitalColor Meter. Go to /Library/Desktop\ Pictures/Solid\ Colors/Solid\ Kelp.png(or whatever solid.png), click to open it in Preview, hold cursor on solid opened color sample and with DColMeter you will get a reading of RGB value. See image.

  • My screen background color is off-white & this color comes through on the print page. Page Setup/Print Background is set off. How do I fix this? Problem first popped up with version 6, still there with version 8.0.1

    File/Page Setup/Format & Options/Options/Print Background (colors & images): Check box set off.
This setting does not work as my screen background color still comes through on the print preview & the print page.
Is this because the newer Firefox versions have blocked my graphics driver version?

See [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=683139 Bug 683139] – Using the 'High Contrast Black' 'Accessibility Option' in Win XP results in the screen colours being printed.

  • How Do I Change The Logon Screen Background?

    Hi...
I was wondering how to go about changing the logon screen background... You know... The screen background you see when you first boot the Mac and it's sitting at the logon window waiting to be logged on?
    Thanks in advance!!

You can do this with OnyX: http://www.titanium.free.fr/download.php
The image you want to use has to be in one of a few locations:
This button allows you to choose a replacement image for the background of the Login Window. By default, the application directs you to the folder containing the Desktop Pictures of Mac OS X (/Library/Desktop Pictures/...). You can choose another image but it must be accessible by all users, for example in the Public, Shared or Sites folder.
Formats accepted: PNG, JPEG, JPEG-2000, GIF, PSD, TIFF, TGA, BMP.
It's in the Parameters > Login tab.

  • How to set full screen background color in new Pages

I just updated to Mavericks and the new Pages...I often use a certain background color when I work in full screen mode, but that color is gone withe the upgrade and I don't see how to specify a color any longer...any ideas?
    Thx.

Given over 90 removed features in Pages 5, I guess they were busy "not noticing" a lot more than the background color:

  • SCREEN BACKGROUND COLOR CHANGED SUDDENLY

Hello: The background color of the Internet Explorer Email Screen changed suddenly from light blue to orange-pink!How can I turn it back to light blue?Thank you,Elba

    Hi
Are you talking about the AT&T Yahoo! Mail background? If so, go to your email and then look at the top right corner of the email page. You should see a little cog icon next to your name and the home button. Move your mouse over the cog icon and select "Themes" from the list. Now, choose the correct color that you want. Most of the base themes are located at the end of the theme list.

  • How to change screen background color in iTunes

Try this solution which has been advised in many posts on this problem. Go to the Windows XP Start menu > Control Panel > Appearance and Themes (in Category view) > Display > Settings tab and make sure Colour Display is set at Highest (32 bit): iTunes - Pink iTunes window under iTunes XP/Vista

  • PageTitle Bar Background Color

    Hello.
I would like to know how to change background color for the "PageTitle Bar". I don't see how to change it in the Theme Editor. I have also downloaded the theme but I can't find where to make my change.
    Any ideas?
    My portal is 2004s.
    Thanks.

    Hi Senthil.
It didn't work, I changed "Background Color of Standard Toolbar" and "Background Color of Emphasized Toolbar".
As far as I know "Page Title Bar" is an iview on its own: com.sap.portal.pageToolbar. It contains "history", "back" and "forward" links and the current Page Title.
Toolbar iview is com.sap.toolAreaIview, it contains the search box.
In my instalation they have different colors, as I changed the color for the Portal Tool Area.
I also tried changing Complex Elements -> Menu Bar and Complex Elements -> Link Bar, but didn't work either.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks.

  • How do you change the logon screen in 10.7.4

A few months ago I changed my logon screen background to something more desirable for my tastes. Recently, I updated my software to vers. 10.7.4 and the update reverted my custom logon screen back to the original. I tried changing it back, but it seems as though the location of the image has been changed as when I navigated there, my original "Custom image" was still there, but my actual logon screen still displays the factory image. What gives? Where do I go to change back to my custom image?

I love Apple and I love my MBP. Also, I understand where your coming from when you say I shouldn't be messing around with the OS resources. Normally, a person would not go through the trouble (and/or the possible catastrophic consequences) of changing things like this, but computers fascinate me and I love learning about them. I'm sure there are many others out there like me. It is just a personal preference of mine to want to change the logon background (and gain the learning experience that goes along with it). My preferred logon screen DOES pay homage to Apple and being a second year programming major (yes, I am thus far only in my second year) it is what I like to learn about. I would not have endeavored in something like this if I did not think I could fix it if something went wrong. Like I said before, it would be nice to be able to change it as easy as it is to change the desktop background, but the learning experience is valuable too.

  • EP 6.0 SP13: Logon Screen Development: UME accessing

    hi all
I am new to Portal Development.
I have been asked to do the follwoing Development:
Bespoke copy of the standard logon screen with the addition of a new field called Client.
The <b>Client field will be a pull down</b> and will get it’s values by calling the ABAP function module Z_EP_GET_CLIENT_LIST which runs in the backend ABAP system acting as the UME database for the Portal. This function model will return a list of clients as a table with a field called CLIENT_LIST, which is char(3). The field should be blank at launch time to force the user to select from the pull down and suitable error message should be displayed if the user does not select a client from the pull down list.
The logon details for calling the function module should be read from the UME parameters – the UME parameters are :-
    ume.r3.connection.master.client          Client
    ume.r3.connection.master.ashost          Server
    ume.r3.connection.master.sysnr          System Number
    ume.r3.connection.master.user          User
    ume.r3.connection.master.password      Password
Once the user has selected the client and logged on, the system mapping table for that client should be got by calling ABAP function model Z_EP_GET_SYSTEM_MAPPING passing in as a parameter the Client entered by the user. This function model will return the following table called SYSTEM_MAPPING.
This data should be persisted for the duration of the user logon in memory to avoid subsequent reads on the UMD ABAP system.
This is my new requirement??? Could anybody Guide me in this Development.
    My Understanding:
      1. Logon Page is: umLogonPage.jsp
    2. PAR file to be downloaded com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.
    Many Thanks
    Kam

    Kirupanand venkatapathi
       Thanks for that!!!!
Sorry i am bit nervous. SO i was unable to open the file. Now i could!!!!
What is the name of the JSP i have modified inorder to put CLIENT Filed below the password field ????
Becoz i am finding many JSPs with same name !!!!
Link below shows the ways but it is different from the one u gave:

  • Screen background appearance

iMac startup (power on) is normal with a blue background screen. Upon installation of the following software, on line, (Digital Camera Raw Compatib... 2.2, Remote Desktop Client update, 3.2.2, and Mac OS X update, 10.5.5) the background screen appearance and color randomly changed from the normal blue colors. On start up, randomly, when just before the appearance of the icons and dock, the screen background color and pattern changed to a multicolor "weave type" appearance. Not all the icons would appear and the ones that did appear had black block base to the icons. On restart, the screen reappeared normal with a blue background and all icons on board. Again, on shut down, the weave pattern would randomly appeared.
The computer is on a DSL line.

I've tried to do this fix as well and it will solve some problems, but not all of them. We've experienced several background issues (particularly screen bleed, but this we fix by changing the compression settings).
If the issue is the one I detailed in the original post, the only way I've found to fix it is to graphically edit the background with the image (100%) shown in Captivate.
If the issue is that no matter what graphic edit you do to the background image, the image on publish refuses to change. We've found you can fix it in one of two ways:
Pasting an image of the background over the actual background.
Pasting all the slides in a new Captivate project.
I received a phone call from Sumit Tokas <[email protected]> back in February and mentioned this issue to him. He asked me to email him the problem and said he would look into it. I did, and have yet to hear back. Here's hoping that other people having the same issue will get a more satisfying response.
