Standard tools for Event raising

Hai all,
I know that we can raise an event with an ABAP program at the end of a chain. Does any body know any standard tools in BW for raising an event after completion of a process chain like the other processes like loading data, creating deleting indices etc.? I can create and trigger events in SM62 and SM64. But any drag and drop or selection things...any standard SAP delivered things..??

To check the status for load of data, SAP standard BAPI that you can use is BAPI_ISREQUEST_GETSTATUS.
It returns status as 'Y','G','R'.

SAP Standard Tools for compliance

Hello,
i heard that SAP has standard tools available for compliance i.e. AIS, MIC..etc. They are smaller in scope than GRC. Could someone help show me where I can find them in my SAP v4.6c system.

Officially, that would be non-compliant with the SoX "rules of engagement" of this site
However I can understand special cases where it is usefull to go beyond forum boundaries and have made a suggestion for a feature to mirror threads to other related forums. However that is on a long and prioritized list of suggestions.
Back to your question: If you start transaction SECR then a 46C system will tell you more about the AIS. Also see report RSUSR009 (and the newer one RSUSR008_009_NEW). Tcode AUT10 might also be of interest.
To my knowledge there is nothing in the standard 46C system which "brings it all together" like GRC intends to.

We are using VS 2013 (premium) and IE 10.0, scripts have been created on the same versions. It is working fine on
developers command prompt but the same tests are getting failed in lab center test agent machine

Payload for an exent & Source from where Event Raised

In Oracle Applications 11.5.10 I want to subscribe to "oracle.apps.ap.event.invoice.approval" event.
I want to add a custom "Rule Function", I require to know the payload for this event.
And I want to know from where is this event raised in the base product.

You are right.. The payload will be generated by the application raising the event. How do I come to know that from where is "oracle.apps.ap.event.invoice.approval" event raised. Is it raised from a form, workflow, pl/sql package, db trigger?
Secondly I agree it is of type WF_EVENT_T, but in addition to that I want to know what are the granular contents of the payload being passed to my rule function. What all data can I reference from this seeded Payload. What is the name of this payload.

Standard tool bar for custom Dialog program

Hi,
I need to have a standard tool bar functionality like (Search & Print) for my screen 9000. Could you please let me know how can i get it. And i have a ALV in that screen, if i print the data will all the lines will be printed or only displayed lines will be printed, could you please let me know how to get all the lines of ALV. Basically i have some fields & ALV... everything should be printed out.

my question is when you create a custom screen like 9000, pf-status also need to created. If i need to printing functionality what needs to be done. If i need all the standard functions in my custom screen...what i need to do.
In that custom screen i have normal fields and one ALV. if i have print button in the standard tool bar and if i use it will it print all the lines of alv along with other fields. {please note that i am not talking about the alv print icon, i am talking about that standard tool bar print icon}.

Is there an HTML help authoring tool for LV?

Ideally one tool fits all, LabView, C# and MSVC++.

The standard Common User Access (CUA) states that the key F1 will open help. Unfortunatly you cannot associate this key with a help file and topic as you can in other development systems.
On windows systems the behaviour seem to be common with what I have tested with MS Outlook, MS Internet explorer, LV and my favourite Help authouring tool (HAT). All open the default topic of the help file.
On IBMs AS /400, now iSeries, F1 will open a window which depends on the field where the cursor is. On GUI system this is related to the control who has the key focus. If the cursor is outside any field a help window explaining the current screen will be opened.
LV allows you to simulate this using the event structure. Make a event case for "Key up". Look into help for scan codes and how the keys are mapped to the values in this case. This event exists for the VI and for each control/indicator. If you have detected a F1 key you can open the help file with the corresponding topic.
The other way of context sensitiv help is Shift-F1. This works different in different applications. MS Outlook will open a popup window depending on the part where the mouse cursor is. MS IE will open the default topic of the help. My HAT will change the cursor and when you click somewhere you get a corresponding popup window. LV will ignore this key. The best way LV has for that is the "Tip" or "Tip Strip".
I think that NI will not make a new property to VIs and controls containing help file information and to associate the F1 key with that properties because you can connect F1 to a control using Key Navigation. This is another method of providing help. Place a control outside the visible aera and connect it with F1 using key navigation. This way you can open a help file with a topic with the context sensitivity of the window.
Another thing I have to comment is that why will you use HTML files instead of HTML based help (Win98, this is the same help LV uses)? If you have a medium sized application you will have to be careful to deploy a lot of files (more than 30 I would expect, 1 for ech topic and two or three for the frame, navigation and table of contents). You have to take into concern various browsers (4 Versions of MS IE, some versions of Netscape, some versions of Opera) with various versions of JavaScript if you will use a dynamic table of contents. And you will loose such things like Search and Favourites. Win98-Help looks always the same because there is only one viewer installed with every Windows and there are no third party products doing some things different. The only answer I would really accept is you are not on a windows platform.

Tools for Compliance

I am aiming at eventual HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance. Right now from a tools perspective I have only Nessus, a scanning tool. As far as tools that I may need to invest in, what are the areas and best tools in those areas that I need to look at, to have a shot at HIPAA + SOC 2.
Has anyone tried to quantify the areas that you need purchase tooling and/or develop automated reporting around in order to faciliate the process of driving toward compliance standards such as these and can help me quantify what is needed as represented below?

It can be used but only sees a little of the VE, it however will see your VM environment. Compliance is really about the workloads. What they touch and whether what they indirectly touch. Start with figuring out the actual scope of the compliance.

Where are your workloads in relation to everything. Generally I would say Yes, but how is HIPAA handled today? First check that with your compliance folks. Compliance is really about the workloads. Error during DatabaseCopy using SAP tools for SQL Server (v7.12)

I'm trying to perform a system copy from PRD to QAS. The database has been mounted to QAS via detach and attach method. I did a DBCC on the database and everything looks OK. I'm running SAPINST (SAP Tools for MSSQL) and selecting the Database Copy option. The source database has a schema of DBO. Both PRD and QAS are running SAP 4.7/Basis 620. The target schema is QAS. SAPINST fails in step 2 (Define Params) with:
"This service cannot be used for a system with SAP ABAP release 620"
Is this message misleading? Has anyone receive this message before.
UPDATE:
I donwloaded the latest version of SAP Tools for MSSQL and now it failes during the execution phase on step, "Convert DB objects to new schema".

This is looks like permission issue on source folder
Copy source in to your local drive and try again.
I had same issue and able to resolve after copy EXP1 EXP2 and EXP3 folder in to local drive C: with Everyone full access

Which method is used for event creation

Dear All,
My client has more then one Purchase Organization. Workflow for Purchase order release very from pur org to pur org. For example - workflow WS92000030 is trigger when PO is created for India pur org where as workflow WS92000021 is trigger when PO is created for US pur org.
I checked and found that same Object Type - BUS2012 & event - RELEASESTEPCREATED is used in all Pur. Org PO release workflow. Also I found in Transaction code - SWETYP that Type linkage activate for BUS2012, RELEASESTEPCREATED in all the PO workflow - WS92000030 & WS92000021.
As per my knowledge, event can be created in various way such as Function module, Change document, General status management, Business Transaction Events etc.
Can some one guide me, how can I found that which method is used for event creation in different pur org?
How can I fould what is the fuctional module used for event creation if Fuctional module used for event creation.
For your information, I can see in T. Code - SWUO that 'Result dependent on a check function module' for all the workflow - WS92000030, WS92000021 etc.

Hi Sahu,
I dont think they have used the Function module or change document or any other kind of methods to trigger the workflow. This is because RELEASESTEPCREATED method is a standard method and it will be triggered by standard SAP. They can not make changes in standard sap saying RELEASESTEPCREATED should be triggered for this Purchase Org .
Istead what i think is, they might have given the Event Condition for each workflow.
In SWDD>> basic settings>> Start Events, we can give condition on triggering the workflow.
Please check this.

Missing chain step name in events raised by the scheduler

I use events raised by the scheduler (SYS.SCHEDULER$_EVENT_QUEUE) to monitor scheduler chains processing.
For event_type = "JOB_STARTED" (chain step started in case of chains) in event message (sys.scheduler$_event_info) there is no log_id (log_id is null).
In user_scheduler_job_log view there is column job_subname that contains chain step name but this column is missing in the event message.
Is there any way to get chain step name for event_type = "JOB_STARTED"?

I want to track chain processing by dequeue messages from SCHEDULER$_EVENT_QUEUE.

For event JOB_SUCCEEDED there is log_id = 340374 so we can find job_subname (chain step name) in log table.
For JOB_STARTED and JOB_CHAIN_STALLED there is no log_id so we do not know wich chain step in this case was started and wich chain was stalled.
JOB_NAME is the same for all steps in case of chain processing

How to create instant quote tool for website? Customer enters height and width and price is calculated.

I am trying to create a instant quote tool for my site.. so customer type in there height and width and a price appears but I have no clue where to start.. is there any tutorial or would someone kindly give me some advice on how to do this on dreamweaver. I havent used Dreamweaver in years and I cant even remember anything now
