Standard vs Professional  - forms/javascript

I need the ability to add/edit from fields, add submit buttons, and add Adobe javascript to PDF documents.
Can this be done in Standard or do I need Professional?
Thanks.
kpg

I use Acrobat Pro at work to "chop up" scanned documents into smaller pdfs. I would like to do this on my home computer too. Should I purchase Professional or will Standard be good enough?

  • Error while editing standard HCM Processes & Forms

    Hi experts,
    I would Iike to test the standard HCM processes & Forms & for which I have imported the standard forms from Client 000. I have also configured the ADS & have tested the credentials as well. Everything is fine & new custom ADOBE interactive forms (Not HCM Forms) are working fine through WDA. When I test any of the standard processes using HR Administrator role in Portal, I am able to select the relevant standard process (e.g. TERMINATION) for a given employee, but when I click on the  Edi Process button, the system generates an error (short dump): "'WebDynpro Exception: ADS call failed ". I have checked OSS, but did not find any suitable note for it. I have the HR administrator role assigned in the back end & have confirmed that the ADS configuration as well as credential are working fine using the recommended reports. We are on EhP4 SP06.
    Appreciate if anyone has already experienced these probelms & can suggest any solutions. Thanks in advance.
    Best regards,
    Sameer

    Sameer,
    To me it appears that ADS is conencted to only backend ECC not to the portal system.
    Please try below:
    1. Launch WDA for HCMPF in SE80 with appropriate parameters and see if this displays interactive adobe form when you click in edit button.
    2. May be test the ADS connectivity to portal system.

  • PDF Form javascript for making readonly field by using button

    Please let me know the PDF Form JavaScript for making selected fields(Text field,Drop down list,..) as read-only by using Button.

    Do you want your button to be made read only?
    One starts with Acrobat JS Reference.
    // make all fields in a form read only;
    var oField; // variable for field being processed;
    // loop through the form fields;
    for (var i = 0; i < this.numFields; i++) {
    // process each field name;
    oField = this.getField(this.getNthFieldName(i)).readonly = true;

  • Which license type do we need to buy, standard or professional?

    We have been helping a customer to develop a web based system built around Flash media server.
    For our work we have used the developer edition. Things are going well and now our customer is now looking to go live and so wants to purchase a full media server license, however we are not sure which particular license they should purchase, either Standard or Professional ?
    From looking at the product specification it would appear standard would seem to be the one but we make use of action script to create custom “applications” on the FMS server, some of which are used to record the session and the specification about what is available in professional isn't totally clear.
    Finally is possible to upgrade from standard to professional at a later date if we end up picking the wrong one by mistake?

    Hello, you’d definitely need a Professional licence for these types of apps (provided you use custom Server-Side ActionScript code). To avoid an erroneous situation with the licence – Standard edition is good for streaming media to a whole plethora of devices, but it can’t store custom code, can’t record streams from Flash Player, and doesn’t support rtmfp connections (p2p commu8nication). • Security question about opening PDFs in Reader as opposed to Standard or Professional

    Our ITC wants us to open all downloaded PDFs in Acrobat Reader 9 as opposed to Acrobat 7.0 Standard. We currently have both. We download a lot of PDFs and frequently need to Reduce File Size or extract pages, etc. I am hoping to upgrade my Acrobat 7.0 Standard to Professional 9.
    Is there a valid security reason to always open first in Reader? Based on what I have read Acrobat Reader 9 and Professional 9 both had security risks and it is my understanding that a patch has been released today.
    Is there a security risk still for Acrobat Professional 9 and is there a security risk for Acrobat Standard 7.0? Does requiring us to download, save and open PDFs in Reader 9 first make sense from a security standpoint?
    Thanks very much for any input.

    I don't remember any claims that Reader was safer than Acrobat. I use Acrobat exclusively and Adobe recommends against installing both due to conflicts (they use a lot of the same files). The biggest factor to be careful about is to not open any attachments or applications that may be built in. These can be put in the PDF and both Acrobat and Reader open such tools. I would tend to question the basis for the IT folks decision, particularly based on the Adobe recommendation and problems that it creates. At least that is my opinion.

  • Where has Menu Item : "Edit Links..." within MSP (Standard or Professional) 2007 gone to in version 2010 and/ or 2013 ?

    Hi folks,
    Can someone please tell me where I can find the "Links..." menu item in version 2010 and ver. 2013 that is under the EDIT menu, up until MS Project (Standard or Professiona) version 2007 ?
    Just as a refresher, the Links dialog window has an Update Now,
    Open Source, Change Source..., and Break Link
    buttons, etc.
    Thanks in advance,

    You're welcome Spiro.
    Maybe it is the tool you're talking about, but here is the

  • Office 2004 standard or professional?

    I am wondering if I should get Office standard or professional. The cost is not so much an issue, since I can have a student deal with my school (for the MS Student Select Office 2004, standard or pro).
    I know the basic difference is that the professional version has Virtual PC, but I'm not sure I 1) understand what it does 2) if it's worth the additional memory space needed to install it.
    Thank you for helping me!

    The only difference between Standard and Professional is VirtualPC.
    What it does (VirtualPC):
    Allows you to run a copy of Windows (in a window) on your Mac. And it will facilitate sharing files between your Mac and this copy of Windows. It's useful if there is some Windows only program that you absolutely need (or want) to run on your Mac.
    Is VirtualPC worth it: That depends. If you need Virtual PC to get work done than yes, it's worth it. If you don't NEED it, but just want to run a Win only game or app, then sure, again, it's worth it.
    The fact that you are asking what VirtualPC is though, pretty much suggests you don't need it. Not to offend, but if you needed the program you would already know what VirtualPC does.
    Hope that helps.

  • COM dlls in the Standard and Professional Editions of Crystal Reports

    CA Forum: Deployment
    Hi.
    Do the Standard and Professional editions of Crystal reports install all the com dlls?
    thanks

    Hi,
    The crystal reports trainign for SAP Business One is designed for partners and customers and provided for free to them.
    It's not available to non-customers. You will need to have a login to the partner or customer portal to use it.
    Alternatively you can use the regular Crystal Reports training resources or available books to get yourself skilled for Crystal Reports. Being able to work with Crystal Reports is 90% of the work where as the SAP Business One specific's are in the area of ....
    - Release 8.8: the datasource connections; working with variables in the report; intergration and distribution of reports
    - Release 2007: linking the reports into the SAP Business One menu and making them secured available to the end users.
    Best regards,

  • PDF Form Javascript for getting User LoginName

    Please let me know PDF Form JavaScript for showing User Login Name (login id) in the Text Field (text1), when using Button (button1).

    As noted there has to be a special folder level script installed on each user's system. This script can be written to access individual properties of the identity object or only a specific property. One can also create a function to access the identity object or even create new properties.

  • No submit button in distributed form - JavaScript help

    I have creted a from in Live Cycle Designer. After distribution submit button is not visible in Acrobat and Reader. I've looked at the form JavaScript and find out this part of code which probably hide submit button in Acrobat 9:
    showAutoGenSubmitBtn = function(bShow)
        var autoGenSubmitName = "%AUTO_GEN_SUBMIT_NAME%";
        var fld = this.getField(autoGenSubmitName);
        if (fld != null)
            var b= this.dirty;
            if (bShow)
                fld.display = display.noPrint;
            else

    if (app.viewerVersion >= 9)
        showAutoGenSubmitBtn(false);
    else
        showAutoGenSubmitBtn(true);
    I am not familair with JavaScript so I would apprecite if someone can help me how to edit it to make submit button visible.

    I'm distributing the form in Acrobat Pro 9.
    I created the form in Live Cycle Designer.  Save, then open in Acrobat pro.  Extend Features to Acrobat Reader, click the drop down box on Forms and hit distribute.  I save a local copy.  When I open the distributed form the buttons do fall silent, the Submit Button on the purple line up top still works, but that doesn't appear in reader and the people who will be completing the form all use reader.  Any suggestions for a fix?
    I'd like to distribute because that automates the tracking.  It works undistributed.

  • Isuppliers included in customer Lov in Standard Find Customer Form

    Issue:
    On the Customer Standard form, when queried for the customer name, the lov gives list of true customers and isuppliers (Which i think are internally created as parties after isupplier registration and may be thats the reason its showing in the list).
    But we want only the true customers (has account number) not the isuppliers (no account number) in the list.
    1.Please let me know if isuppliers are created as parties? I am pretty confused here.
    2. Is it the oracle standard functionality to pull all the parties (including the party created due to the isupplier registration) in the customer name field of the standard find customer form ?
    3. Also, is there a way to modify the standard form to include only the true customers in the lov of customer name?
    4. Is there a way to query suppliers which are registered in iSupplier from po_vendors or hz_parties tables?
    Please assist. Thanks.

    Hello Shrilakshmi,
    The fields which are used in additional data while creating customer master are must define in customer master table using ci_include or append structure. So it automatically comes in bapi or everywhere wher u used that table.

  • List of Standard Sap ineteractive forms

    Hi Experts
    i would like to know if there is a list of standard sap interactive forms that can be utilised. I know if you do a drop down in transaction SFP you can view all the standard sap forms availble for you to utilise but a large number of them do not have a description next to them and some of the one's that do have description, the descriptions are not very helpfull.
    i want to see if there are standard sap forms available before going and creating a new one, also how do i know in which program these forms are utilised eg webdynpro's etc.

    Hi ,
    Go to SE38 and use FP*  to get reports used for Interactive forms , similarly go to SFP transcation and serach forms FP*.
    You will get list of it.
    Reward if helpful.

  • Disable a Form Javascript in Acro 7 Professional

    Hi all,
    I have a form with some alerts that appear when you open the form (with messages like: "you need to have the latest adobe reader" and things like that).
    I have a server arquitecture in which I open the pdf with an Acro 7 professional, of course every time that I open the pdfs the messages are shown.
    My question is, anybody knows how can I disable the javascript execution in Acro 7 Professional?
    I have found a way to do that in Edition, Preferences, Javascript, Disable javascript. But that option seems to be not working when you create the form with Designer!
    Thanks in Advance.

    try it without the quotes maybe?
    document.forms[0].textBoxPropertyName.disabled=true;Without seeing the html generated for the page, it is impossible to say if your javascript is right or not.
    What about it doesn't work?
    Do you get a javascript error?
    Does it disable the field, and the error is later?
