Start a BPEL process automatically all 30 seconds

Hello,
I would to check all 30 seconds a database for changes. If that is possible with the DatabaseAdapter? And if so like this is done?
Or if there are there still other possibilities.
It should be also begun automatically all 30 seconds a BPEL process which looks in a database.
If somebody can help me there?
Thanks
Cathleen

quick comment on the previous post ..a while loop with wait will flood sooner or later the audit trail ..
you can configure the file adapter to poll the database for new records . and based on this strt a new process instance .. if the process should be started from outside the bpel manager (which is what I recommend, instead of a while/wait loop) check out this here ..

  • Invoking the BPEL process automatically

    Hi All,
    I wanted to invoke the BPEL process automatically when ever it is deployed.
    Any thoughts...
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    if you deploy your bpel via ant you can do the following options:
    add a target and within this target call a script which calls the bpel (e.g. PERL http://dietrichschroff.blogspot.com/2008/10/lost-collaxa-bpel-tutorials.html)
    or
    create a test suite (http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/testsuite.htm#CACDIFFJ) and include it within ant (http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28981/testsuite.htm#CACGIHGA). You can use "Emulations" or the real partner webservices

  • Can start a BPEL process using email?

    Hi all
    Is it possible to start a BPEL process for the event of an incoming email??
    Thanks!

    Hi
    Even if I still have the question above, I created a simple BPEL process to test it. The flow is:
    1) The process is started (by BPEL Console, for instance)
    2) Send an email to the specified user
    3) Wait for the email reply
    4) Receive the reply and finish.
    (seems like a 117 tutorial copy and paste no? :-)
    However I´m getting this error when the process is waiting (step 3):
    ORABPEL-02152
    Instance not found in datasource.
    The process domain was unable to fetch the instance with key "506" from the datasource. Please check that the instance key "506" refers to a valid instance that has been started and not removed from the process domain.
    The instance 506 is the process instance and it is there.
    Looking at BPEL Server logs, I found another related error:
    Caught exception while performing 506-BpRcv1-BpSeq0.3-7 work item faultName: {{http://services.oracle.com/bpel/mail}onMessageFault}

  • Howto start a bpel process by using a http-get browser request

    Hi,
    i need some help with the start of a bpel-process.
    My process will be started by a receive-activity which comes from a http-get browser request. Then the process will redirect the request-string to a synchronous service to get back its response to process it (this service has of course a wsdl).
    The initial receive-activity needs a port Type and an operation to be declared. These concrete binding declarations must be defined in a wsdl-document i think. But the browser-client has no wsdl (and doesn’t need it since it is no webservice, i think). Where do i declare the operation, port Type, etc.? Is it possible that it will be declared in an extra WSDL which represents the bpel-process?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    check out 102.invokingProcesses tutorial/jsp and the html page .. that uses http invocation ..

    Hi,
    I assume you mean the JMS example under the $OH BPEL examples area. Unfortunately, this only shows how to get a BPEL process kicked off by awaiting a JMS message - but there is no test code there! There are specific examples which show off the testing framework facilities but it appears that all the examples which use async type of interactions are in the middle of a process which is kicked off by a normal synchronous client interaction.
    Any further help much appreciated.

    Please advise

    you are right the file adapter doesnt invoke any bpel
    process, instead it is polling the file from
    directory location?If it is polling for new files, shouldn't it create a new instance of the BPEL process automatically the moment it finds a new file? In other words, should a new file trigger an instance of the BPEL process rather than being started from PL/SQL?
    Can this file adapter not be invoked as bpel process
    in that case?The file adapter is part of a BPEL process. The BPEL process can be invoked from e.g. PL/SQL.
    In this case this file adapeter return to an RECEIVE
    activity...I think this receive cannot be invoked as
    a BPEL process rite?Can you explain what you mean with this?
    Also , will all synchronous request return "TIMEOUT"
    error, if tried to invoke from pl/sql?Only if the synchronous process instance takes more time to complete (and thus to return) than the value specified for a time-out to occur. If the instance completes in for example 10 ms and the time-out time is specified as 30 seconds, no time-out will occur.

  • How to get response from an asynchronous BPEL process in Java

    I'm experimenting with BPEL and doesn't seem to be able to get response from an asynchronous BPEL process. Here's the deal:
    I have a BPEL process that takes a string as input, and gives another string as output. This is a asyncronous process.
    I want to initiate this BPEL process as a web service so I generate a Webservice Proxy in JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3.0.4). The function to call the process is now called "initiate" and takes three arguments: the input string, a "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.EndpointReferenceType replyTo" and a
    "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.AttributedURI messageID".
    HTTP-Analyzer shows that invoking the BPEL process with initiate("somestring", null, null) results in sending a SOAP message to the BPEL process, which returns a "202 Accepted". How do I get the response from the process? My intuition tells me that I have to use that second argument, that EnpointReferenceType thing. How do I use that?
    Another question: If a asynchronous BPEL process does not exists (so the endpoint does not exist) the Java proxy does not throw an error when runned. It does not even sends a message. It exits with status 0! (This happens for example when deploying a new version of a process and when the "old" version is undeployed). Calling a non-existing synchronous BPEL process, the Java proxy DOES throw an error.

    Clemens,
    That all sounds logical. But somehow it is still a mystery for me ... Somehow I don't see what should be done.
    To call the async BPEL process I have the following procedure:
    initiate(String input, org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.EndpointReferenceType replyTo, org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing.AttributedURI messageID)
    The first argument is the input for my BPEL process. The second is the address to a webservice that should handle the callback, right? The third is a messageID (makes sense, but why of the type AttributedURI?).
    Here lies my problem. It is not clear to me how these EndpointReferenceType & AttributedURI work. I can't find anything on the net about it. The AXIS examples as where mentioned earlier use other types (namely the "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws.addressing.MessageID" and "org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws.addressing.ReplyTo") which are completely different.
    What I did so far:
    - I created an webservice proxy that listens on the onResult endpoint of the BPEL process.
    - I created an webservice proxy that calls the BPEL process through the initiate procedure, but it is not completely clear to me how to construct the EndPointreferenceType replyTo, and the MessageID. I did something like this:
    EndpointReferenceType replyTo = new EndpointReferenceType();
    // callback service running on local machine
    // This URI class is the java.net's version
    URI replyToURI = new URI("http://vaccinatie:8988/syncro-callback-context-root/stringconcatCallbackBindingPort");
    // This AttributedURI is the org.xmlsoap.schemas.ws._2003._03.addressing's version
    AttributedURI address = new AttributedURI();
    // the only public methos that made sense to me:
    address.set_value(replyToURI);
    replyTo.setAddress(address);
    // call the BPEL process
    myPort.initiate("test123", replyTo, address);
    But the above doesn't work (largely because I don't know what I'm doing here prob.:-) ) It does send the "test123" message, and the BPEL process does process it, but I don't seem to get the callback right.
    I hope this makes my problems somewhat clearer. I hope someone can help me, because I'm just a beginner in this whole "web service area" and seems to do something terribly wrong here, because it should be very simple. Thx.

    The strange problem that i am currently encountering right now is for each time the bpel process execution time scales up. For example, the first time i fired the request, the bpel process took 29 seconds to completely execute. The second time it took 39 seconds and the third time it has taken around 56 seconds to execute.
    When i cleared the wsdl cache from within the bpel console, the execution again came down to around 21 seconds.
    Can i know which is the property which we can set in bpel.xml file of the bpel process to clear the wsdl cache each time a request is fired.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vijay S

    Jay,
    You don't say how these links on the menu page are constructed. If you are using an apex list then for each list entry there would be a target page section in which you would put the target page ID in the Clear Cache field. For example, if the link goes to a page in the current application, say page 10, then you'd put 10 in the Clear Cache field.
    If you are building a link yourself, just put 10 (for page 10) in the clear-cache position of the f?p URL, e.g.,
    f?p=&APP_ID.:10:&APP_SESSION.::NO:10:P10_ITEM:&SOME_ITEM.

  • Invoking BPEL process on startup

    Hi there,
    Does anyone have suggestions as to how i can run a BPEL process automatically when BPEL PM starts up? I would prefer not to use external tools. I tried using the OC4J startup classes invoking it via java, but the BPEL engine has not started the processes yet.
    I'm using 10.1.3.3.0
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Your current usecase:
    Step 1.java app polls db-->jms topic1 written to that jmsbroker/consumers consume
    Step 2.jms broker receives msgs from topic1-->invokes http post
    Question: It is unclear whether you will have other consumers to this jms msg or not and hence two options.
    Here are the ways to use BPEL with this:
    Option 1:
    If you dont want the current JMS broker but want a JMS provider so other consumers can consume the msg
    1.java app polls db, gets xml msg, puts msgs into Oracle JMS.
    2. Within a bpel process, the jms adapter listens for arrival of msgs on a q/topic and calls http post (inline java exec or http binding)
    For bpel process doing http post refer: for inline java call<bpelhome>/samples/references/javaexec) and "702Bindings" for http binding.
    Application specific JMS headers will be set by the enqueuing client (your java app in this case). In general getting and setting of JMS headers is possible within bpel.
    Option 2:
    If you dont want the current JMS broker and dont care about other msg consumers either
    1. java app polls db, gets xml msg, invokes bpel process thro bpel java api
    Ref: 102.InvokingProcesses
    2. Within the bpel process, the steps are : a) receive msg frm client b) do http post
    Again, if you directly have access to the underlying tables, refer to Option 1 in the previous post.
    Wrt "Also, is there a way that I can make my existing java application to be initialized by a bpel process",
    yes within bpel you can write inline java or do wsif binding to invoke java code.

  • How to know BPEL process is running

    Hi,
    I have BPEL process which is triggerred by FileAdapter. File Adapter polls for every 120seconds and if any file exists, it reads and BPEL process is initiated.
    As BPEL proccess is big and sometimes it executes more than 120seconds and it depends on environment with less load process faster and more load its takes more time.
    Due to this is there a way to know BPEL process is running before fetching new file or before starting actual BPEL process.
    JDev: 11.1.1.6.0
    Thanks,
    Bhaskar

    Can a singleton bpel will resolve your problem ?
    At a time only one bpel process will be running there wont be any parallel instances for that bpel. In that way there wont be any second instance created until the first instance has done with its job.

    IDeliveryService service = (IDeliveryService) locator.lookupService(IDeliveryService.SERVICE_NAME);                    NormalizedMessage result = service.request(processName, "process", message);
    What should I do to make it work?
