Start a separate iview from current iview

Hi there
Is it possible to, say, start / reload a separate iview from the current iview.
If I am in a BW report, in the content area, and I want to reload an iview that is placed in the Navigation area, is that possible, and if so, how?
Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks Ritu
Do you have any documentation available on eventing?
Kristoffer ... I don't want the iview displayed below my current iview, but rather in the navigation section, so your option is not viable unfortunately.
Cheers,
Andrew

  • Control iView from another iView

    Hi,
I would like to know, how I can control on iView from another iView. Is there any HowTo-Guide about this? Or a simple example, maybe a list of links in one iView and the displaying of those links in the other iView.
    Kind regards,
    Dominik

    Hi Dominik
You can do that using the client side eventing framework (EPCF) provided in EP.
    Please go through this

  • Need call a method of one iview from another iview

    Hi,
There are 2 iviews in a component.
    1) FirstView - contains abc() method & xyz() methods
    2) SecondView (a popup) - asdf() method
i want to call abc() method from asdf() method. i.e. i want to call a method of the firstview from the secondview.
    Note:
    1) i couldn't able to copy the code of abc() method to component controller, as it has the code which uses (iview) local attributes (this can be done by context mapping) & main reason is from the method it calls the xyz() method of the same view (again i couldn't call a method of iview from component controller).
    2) firstView contain 5 tabs, i want to be in the same tab from which secondview (popup) was called, if i use fire plugs between both view, the current tab will be chnaged (i suppose, not sure).
    3) can we use event handlers, if yes how can we do that.
Please provide a better solution for calling a method of view from another view.
    Thanks
    Maha

    Hi Maha,
It is better to have such methods in the component controller to make it reusable and avoid writing same code again and again.
You can have that method in component controller and call that method on click on a button from Iview1 and can pass the parameters in the mthgod only.
    for example.
Say Method abc() which is currently in Iview1 and you are passing values from context say aa bb cc to the method now what i am suggesting is
    have that method abc(String aa, String bb, String cc) ;
and call it on click on button in Iview1 and pass the required parameters.
    Hope this will help

  • Opening another iview from an iview in the same page ....

    Hello ....
I need to open another iview from an existing one in the same page without overwriting the other existing iviews on the page. I am using EPCM.doNavigate() as given below
    EPCM.doNavigate('ROLES://portal_content/com.hersheys.Hershey_Content/com.hersheys.Human_Resources/com.hersheys.hr.sap_mss_iviews/EmployeeExit?SCENARIO_PARAMS=PERNR='+person,0);
The iview does open in the same page, however i lose the other iviews on the top and bottom of the page ....
    Any pointers??
    Thanks,
    Devina

    Hi Devina,
Try using IUrlGeneratorService to generate the URL to the required iView, instead of EPCM.doNavigate().
doNavigate sometimes refreshes the whole page while loading the required iView.
    cheers

  • Call SAPGUI-iView from WebDynpro-iView

    How can i call a SAPGUI-iView from a WebDynpro-iView?

You can create a Transaction iview on portal and point it to a particular transaction in R/3....

  • Calling Iview from BSP Iview

Is it possible to call a transaction iview from a BSP iview .
i want to trigger a transaction iview when i click a button in my BSP iview .
    thanks in advance .
    J

    hi,
The URL that you get on previewing your Transaction iView is the one that needs to be used in your BSP as:
    <a href = "http://sgssmcepdv:52000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.hcl.FLD001!2fSiddharthaID!2fiViewsID!2fMisc!2fepcmID_0" >hello </a>
Te get the url correctly, open the Transaction iView,in the properties look for the property PCD Location
    It will be something like
    portal_content/com.hcl.FLD001/SiddharthaID/iViewsID/Misc/epcmID_0
Now in place of the '/' replace !2f .
    portal_content!2fcom.hcl.FLD001!2fSiddharthaID!2fiViewsID!2fMisc!2fepcmID_0
Now the complete URL would be
    http://sgssmcepdv:52000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.hcl.FLD001!2fSiddharthaID!2fiViewsID!2fMisc!2fepcmID_0
    Ok.
    Then test the BSP Iview.

  • Ep6.0 How to differentiate a Java Iview  from other Iview

    Hi,
I would like to know how to recognize a Java Iview in the PCD? I would like to open up an Iview and want to understand whether it's and Java iview or others, I know about bsp, urs, wingui etc..
Also once I know that, how do I get to see the code behind that Iview, if I need to change etc..
Also is changing the "cache level" to 'Shared' for bringing in efficiency in the memory use is considered a modification? Currently the 'Cache Level' of some of the iview for one perticular apps is set as 'None'  Is there any other way to do it ?
    Arunava

    Hi Arunava,
still, the answer stays the same: <i>You cannot determine if the content is provided in Java or in fact in some backend system <b>generically</b> by looking at the properties.</i>
What does that mean: If you know for some special case that the existance of a certain property means that this iView is served by a BSP for example, then you know this. But in general, a property is a property is a property, and all properties are in first place used by the java implementation - maybe to be passed through to a backend system.
In my first answer in this thread, I gave complete instructions hwo to find out which java class is called when calling an iView. Always it's in first place a java class.
Hope it helps to understand why it's impossible to generically determine by properties where the business logic in fact is implemented.
    Best regards

  • Is Muse CC 2014 a separate product from current Muse CC?

I have a Creative Cloud single-app membership for Adobe Muse. When I started MUSE yesterday, it offerred me a new version upgrade ( to Muse CC 2014) which I accepted. However, this didn't remove my current Muse CC desktop application. So I now have two muse Apps on my desktop and whnen I use the new Muse CC 2014, it keeps telling me that this is only a 30-day trial.
Is that the regular upgrade? Is Muse CC 2014 a new product that I have to buy? Isn't it the normal prolongation of the current application in my single-app membership?

-This messages says (at least some) CC 2014 programs use NEW plugins https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1499663
-so do not uninstall the older CC programs if you use plugins in your programs until you are sure you have plugins that work in CC2014

  • Start an iView from a WAD?

    Hello to you all,
    I have a question.
Is it possible to start an IView from a WAD Application by pressing a button?
    Regards
    Jörg

    Hi Jörg,
You can call a VIEW, pressing a button. However, this is not a standard SAP functionality.
Well, you have to create a HTML code.
    I'm creating an example:
Put this on your WAD code after
Of course, on the parenthesis ( ), you have to remove and put the value required. Remove the parenthesis, as well.
This will create a button on the top of your template.
Click on this button and the VIEW selected on ACTION url will be called.
This is the only way I know. I've tested on my system and works.
I hope you find this information useful...

  • Calling KM navigation iview from ABAP

    Hi All,
I am trying to call the KM Navigation iview from ABAP webdynpro view. it is like implement the same functionality as currently available for Repository filters through ABAP coding. I have to create a new Folder in the KM and call the KM Navigation iview for that specific folder. I know KM has provided few new webservices which I can use to create a new folder in the KM repository but I am unable to open the KM navigation iview with the newly created folder through coding.
I am using the navigate_absolute Portal Navigation method to call the KM Navigation iview from ABAP code. Currently it is opening iview with the folder set as root folder in the iview property but I need to open it with the newly created folder through the code. The same sort of functionality is implemented from java code by passing the Business parameter with navigate_absolute method. The problem with ABAP code is that I don't know what is the exact format of the Business parameter to be passed.
In the java code the Business parameter is passed as
    Uri=/documents/cprxrpm/46A73F1FEED21B0DE10000000A4241A8:DFM_450_MIT3_SAURABH/RIH/47B44774254208CCE10000000A4241A8:wonder-item-01 :WONDER-ITEM-01
Does anybody have idea how can i implement the same scenario in ABAP and what should be the format of the to be passed as Business Parameter from ABAP code ?
    Regards,
    Vikash

In the abap web dynpro view create an exit out bound plug with url as parameter.
In your wddoinit call the the url. The url can be accessed by previewing the km iview in content management. Hope this helps.

  • Can I send an HTTP Header from an iView

    Hello Developers,
I'm trying to run an external web application from a URL iView.  In the URL I point it to a reverse proxy that starts the web application.  The reverse proxy requires a user name in the field HTTP_USER.  Sending a value as a URL Parameter doesn't work.
My question is, can I include the Portal users name in a HTTP Header and sendt the Header from the iView?
    Thank you

    Hello,
you can get the servlet response and set a header value using the following code :
    HttpServletResponse res = aRequest.getServletResponse(true);
    res.setHeader("header name","header value");
    Hope it helps.
    Regards

  • How to hide an iView from a User w

    Hello Experts.
Is there any way to hide an iView from some group of people?
Fox example, we have a role (Role A) containing a page containing the iView (Role->Page->iView) and we want to hide this iView for users that don't have some another role or group. Is it possible to hide this iView even for users who have Role A?
    Best regards,
    Timur Semenchuk.

    Hello Timur,
that sounds... complicated. This is probably one of those cases, where a nice drawing or screenshot would help a lot to understand.
Is this homepage already there? Do I understand that correct, that it will contain links in the detailed navigation, that are iviews and those link to documents (in the KM for example) that have infos like pictures etc in them?
And you just want to show those iviews on this start page, if the user has the roles, that are needed to show the content that is displayed AFTER you click on a link in the document in the iview on the start page?
If I understood correctly, why don't you put those start iviews (let's call them like this for now) into the roles, that they should display? This way, only a user that can use the content after the jump can see the start point.
So every iview in the start page is part of one of the roles, that the user has. Or can an iview have content, that leads to different displays, depending on which link/banner he click in the iview content?
Like I said, I wouldn't do this via the PCD permissions. It's not very practical and later on hard to maintain.
    Regards,
    Steffi.

  • Calling xRPM standard iView from custom WD ABAP iView

    Hi,
We have an issue regarding - calling xRPM standard iView from WD ABAP Application.
    Here are the details.
When xRPM 4.0 application is displayed by clicking the Portfolio Management role,
the item dashboard gets displayed. On the leftside, tabs for Reviews, Reporting Cockpits, Colections etc.
are displayed. Below these tabs, we have a custom tab that navigates to custom WD ABAP applicaiotn.
On click of this custom tab, WD ABAP application gets launched in same window instead of Item dashboard iView.
Everything works good till this point.
The requirement is - an event on this custom WD ABAP applications should navigate to standard xRPM iView (like Item Create or Item overview iView)
we tried Object based navigation & firing a Portal event. But no navigation takes place. It stays on the current page.
Is there any Portal setting need to be done for navigation between custom WD ABAP application and standard xRPM iView?
Your inputs on this will rellay be helpful.
    Thanks
    Bhushan

    Hi,
We could resolve the issue to certain extent.
    We used the following.
    Interface  - if_wd_portal_integration
    Method - navigate_absolute
and a PCD location of Item Creation page is passed as a parameter navigation_target.
This opens standard xRPM Item Creation iView.
Similarly we tried opening Item Overview iView by passing ITEM GUID in Business_Parameters parameter.
This opens the Item Overview iView but does not refer to the Item GUID passed and throws following error.
An exception with the type CX_SY_MOVE_CAST_ERROR occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
    CX_SY_NO_HANDLER CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CP CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CM01Z 1
    CX_SY_NO_HANDLER CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CP CL_RPM_OBJ_MANAGER============CM01Z 46
So I need to either pass the ITEM GUID parameter through  navigate_absolute method or somehow set ITEM GUID in xRPM context so that when Item Overview iView is displayed, the iView will refer the ITEM GUID.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bhushan.

  • How to Change TimeZones from Personalize iView

    Hi All,
In my Masthead, i need to Display the Country name and the Time, user is going to chnage the time zone and Country from Personalize iview User Profile, according to that the respective time is going to display it on Masthead part.
Now my Question, If user is Change the Timezone & Country in the User profile, how it is going to reflect on  Masthead area.
    Thanks In Advance
    Krishna Ganesh

    Hi Michael,
In the Masthead JSP it self, we are adding jsp scriptlets and html Div Elements to display the time on the Masthead. Currently i am able to display the server time with normal Java API.
Now i am going to display 5 timezones in a Iview, that iview is going to add to user's HomePage(User Choice).
    Thanks

  • Launch Adobe Flex iView from Specific URL

I was wondering if there was a way to launch a BSP iView from a direct URL, rather than having to log in to the portal and navigate to the iView. For example, if I create an Adobe Flex application called SamplePortal, I want users to be able to click on and bookmark a link that takes them directly to the application, while still taking advantage of the NetWeaver user authentication.
    I see 2 options available:
                 1.  Create a Quick Link (http://<servername>:50000/irj/portal/SamplePortal) - I can;t seem to get this one to work
                 2. Directly Access the iView (http://<servername>:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3?&NavigationTarget=SamplePortal) - I also can't seem to get this method to work
    Which is best?

    1. QuickLink option
You can assign a value to the quick link property of an iView or a Page and then you can navigate to that quick link using a direct URL like:
    http://myServer:50000/irj/portal/myQuickLink
However, the iview/page should be assigned to the user via a Role assignment for it to work.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/97/b0ef8b24a64ae884f0ab246e54cae5/content.htm
    2. Navigation Target
The navigation target specifies the location of an iView or a page in the current user role. The target can be obtained from the portal catalog as a value that is concatenated by folder id s, roles or other objects.
    http://myportal.wdf.sap.com:8100/irj/index.htm ?
    NavigationTarget=ROLES%3A//portal_content/MyRole/MyRole/MyTest/MyIView
You should be mentioning the PCD path in your Navigation Target.
