Start and ADF Application with a non-View Task

I would like my application to start with a non-View task from within Unbounded Task Flow.
For example, I would like a single "Task Flow Call" in the Unbounded Task Flow which will call the first Bounded Task Flow. The first BTF will expose the main application page. The main application page will contain a dynamic region to handle all other bounded task flows.
Is there a better task type to use than the Task Flow Call?
Does the first task in an unbounded task flow need to be a view task?
If so, is possible to simply use this page to redirect to a non-view task (such as a Task Flow Call)?
Any ideas on the best approach for this? The point is that I do not want to start the application with a view task.
Thanks,
Vince

Hi,
you can't start with a non-view acticvity in an unbounded task flow. In your case I suggest to use a bounded task flow that you enable for browser access (property setting) and have it using JSPX pages. You don't need to start with a view in the unbounded task flow to achieve what you want

  • Custom ADF Application with Process Instance Details Task Flow

    Hi,
    I want to use Process Instance Details Task Flow which is referred to in the doc below.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E21764_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ws_taskflows.htm#BACDBDJA
    But I could not find the task flow in the JAR files nor in the libraries described in the doc (Actually I could not find one of the JARs itself, adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar).
    Does anyone know where can I find it and how to use it?
    It is more convenient if I can create a custom ADF application which contains information on process instance details using Java API for BPM.
    So I'd like to also ask whether such API is available or not.
    Regards,
    Kenji

    +1
    I also can't find the adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar from the specified directory in the [ BPM Users Guide|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/user.1111/e15175/bpmug_ws_taskflows.htm#BACBBDCE] : "$FMW_HOME/AS11gR1SOA/soa/modules/oracle.soa.worklist_11.1.1"
    When I tinker the OracleBPMWorkspace.ear from the $SOA_HOME\soa\applications, it has the OracleBPMWorkspace.war that contains the adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar in its WEB-INF\lib directory, but the adflibWorkspaceTaskFlows.jar does not contain the "processApplicationsTaskflow.xml" or the "processInstancesTaskflow.xml". Those task flows were present in the WEB-INF itself of the OracleBPMWorkspace.war itself which is not deployed as an ADF library.
    Please advice,

  • OAM and ADF Security with WebLogic 11

    WebLogic Server 11, ADF 11, OAM 10.1.4.3
    I understand (and have successfully implemented) an ADF application with application roles tied to enterprise roles which are mapped to OAM groups (and users). This appears to use the OAMAuthenticator and OAMIdentityAsserter authentication providers from OAM installed into the WLS.
    However, there appears to be a gap in the authorization component beyond simple group membership. Does WLS support roles and policies defined in OAM as they might pertain to an ADF application? In the Oracle Access Manager Integration Guide, the entire section on integration with WLS has been removed between versions 10.1.4.0.1 and 10.1.4.3 (along with several other chapters). What is the future direction here? What would be the best means to create roles and policies (including dynamic roles) which extend beyond simple group membership?
    Regards,
    Tom Gresham

    For a start JDeveloper 10.1.3 uses an older version of JSF that WebLogic 11g. You would be best upgrading your app with JDeveloper 11g and then re-deploying.

  • Packaging ADF application with Libraries

    Hi Experts,
    I was exploring on packaging/ bundling an ADF application with all required libraries, so that this application can be deployed on any J2EE server.
    I have gone through another thread on similar topic - Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic server
    Above thread says that installation of run-time libraries are must. But I want to dig little deeper into the reasoning.
    What are libraries that can't be added into Application WAR file? (Normally J2EE developed application can be bundled and deployed on any of these servers (Weblogic/ tomcat/websphere)).
    Is it possible to bundle ADF application with all libraries and then deploy it to Websphere server directly (without installing 3rd party libraries)?
    Any help on this is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Randhir

    Timo / Frank / Shay,
    Thanks for your help.
    Websphere server is being used by other applications. So the intention of bundling libs was to check ADF application funcationality on Websphere server without installing 3rd party ADF libraries (installation may conflict other libraries and some application can stop working).
    I gave a try on bundling all libraries with ADF application, but still I can see some error messages about missing libraries.
    What is your suggestion on installing 3rd party libs on Websphere server? Will this impact any deployed application?
    Thanks,
    Randhir

  • "Accounting-Start" and "Accounting-Stop" with same "user name" and "session Id" recorded in different RADIUS servers.

    Hi,
    I have questions about "Accounting-Start" and "Accounting-Stop".
    1.If a NAS configured to have a primary and a backup RADIUS server. To start with all the “Accounting-Start” records will be in the primary RADIUS server. Later on the primary server goes down (Primary server won’t tell the NAS?). When sessions stop, the NAS sends the “Accounting-Stop” to the secondary. I understand the “Start-Stop” record with the same “user name” and “session-id” ideally should be recorded in the same server. If this situation happens what should both the NAS and RADIUS server do?
    2.A NAS configured to have a primary and backup RADIUS server. To start with all the “Accounting-Start” records will be in the primary RADIUS server. Later on the administrator decided to change the primary server (as there are problems with the previous primary). sessions stop, the NAS sends the “Accounting-Stop” to the new primary. This ends up the “Accounting-Start” and “Accounting-Stop” with the same “user name” and “session Id” in two RADIUS servers.
    To summarize, how to avoid the ”start-stop” pair ends up in different servers ? If it does, is it  an issue for RADIUS application ?
    Cheers,

    following is the code in front controller's doFilter method. is this not thread safe?
            HttpServletRequest req = (HttpServletRequest) request;
            HttpServletResponse res = (HttpServletResponse) response;
            HttpSession session = req.getSession();
            somepackage.User user;
            if(session.getAttribute("user") == null){
                user = new somepackage.User();
                session.setAttribute("user", user);
            }else{
                user = (somepackage.User) session.getAttribute("user");
            }user object maintains all information about a user. if it is in session scope, everything should work fine.
    another observation is after some time of usage, both people in different systems are getting same session.getId()
    in my logout page i am using
    session.invalidate();

  • Oracle ADF application with Teradata as Database

    JDeveloper PS5.
    Is it possible to integrate Oracle ADF application with Teradata as Database?
    If yes, can you please provide some information with respect to the same?
    Thanks,
    Navaneeth

    Does teradata have a JDBC driver ? and can it understand SQL92 falvor SQL ?
    If yes, then maybe you can do ADF on it.
    Take a look at this :
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/multidatabaseapp-085183.html
    A bunch of ADF features will not be available, primary key generation will be a bit sketchy(all keys for all tables will come from a single sequence of numbers) and you'll have to implement some stuff like the persistence collection manager.
    The one thing that doc does not mention is that you also have to make sure your adf-config.xml is set with the correct 'jbo.SQLBuilder' property (SQL92) in the <amconfig-overrrides> section.
    Happy hacking !

  • I want cRIO to start and stop acquisition with push of physical button on cRIO, is that possible?

    When using my cRIO 9024 on the field, I prefer  to be able to start and stop acquisition with push of a physical button on cRIO.
    I mean I don't want it to be "as start-up," I don't want cRIO to start acquisition as soon as the power is supplied.
    Is that possible?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Cashany,
    you surely can read that switch status. But there are easier (but more expensive) ways to switch a button. Fiddling with a pen or small screwdriver to switch USER1 isn't what I call "user friendly"...
    - You have atleast 2 voltage inputs on your module available. Use a switch to supply voltage to those inputs. Use a "real" button!
    - You have a serial port available. You could set some pins to GND or voltage and check their status inside cRIO/RT target...

  • MDSIOException (MDS-00569) when starting updated ADF application

    Hello everybody
    I am not new to this forum but this is my first post here.
    Some context at first. I am developing a ADF application that is used as a inbox for requests. Requests are generated by scanning system and my application shows the requests ordered in inboxes per team or user. Every request has its own documents and history information.
    The application is structured into several components. Each componenent has its own application in JDev (its workspace) and is deployed as ADF libraries. A main application is used to reference all libraries and is deployed as EAR file to Weblogic.
    User customizations are enabled across sessions using MDS.
    I face the following problem. Everytime I changed a component and try to start the newly deployed application I get an exception from MDS (see the stack trace above). The shwon file name is the resource that has been updated in the ADF library. As far as I read in other forum posts, this error can occur randomly. But in my case it's not randomly, it's everytime I start my updated application. The solution is by now to restart Weblogic and redeploy the application. But this can not be the goal.
    I wonder if the problem is related to my project structure (multiple components with its own ADF libraries). The MDS configuration is only in the main application I use to deploy the application.
    Thank you very much for any information in advance.

  • ADF table and ADF form on the same view object

    Hi,
    As per the ADF demos available on ADF site, I created a jsf page with 2 panels. One panel is an ADF table based on a view object. And the other panel is and ADF form based on the same view object. My requirement is that as I scroll through the records in the ADF table, the ADF Form should dynamically display the details of the record in the ADF table. My understanding is that this should be automatic. However, its not working as expected. What have I missed?

    Hi,
    Apply PPR for form that displays details.
    Like :
    <af:table id="t3">
    </af:table>
    <af:panelFormLayout id="pfl2" partialTriggers="t3">
    </af:panelFormLayout >

    Your reply is most welcomed. I am working for 2 days, if you know just give few minutes to address this issue.

    Hi,
    not sure what the error message is that you get. However, if you access an application through prortal then the security needs to be enforced by the portal, not the application itself because the portal will modify the request headers.
    Did you ask the question on the WebCenter or Portal forum here on OTN

  • I did the recommended re-install to resolve the missing MSVCR80.dll file. This worked, but I am now stymied by two error messages: "Apple Mobile Device failed to start" and "Apple application support not found". How to overcome?

    That worked, however I now get two error messages when I install I Tunes:
    o  Apple Mobile Device failed to start.
    o  Apple Application Support not found.
    This were of course deleted in the recommended re-install procedure to resolve the dll file, but repeated uninstalls and installs simply bring up these two error messages with a recommendation to install I Tune again. Installing the new I Tunes version seems to be problematic per the discussion groups and has no simple solution. SHould not the Genius bar be able to resolve this at an Apple Store? Want to buy a new I Phone 5S, but this problem effectively stymies this.

  • Problem DB Trigger and ADF Application for update a field.

    I again,
    I have a Data Base table as following :
    --Solicitudes*
    id number not null,
    extern_code integer,
    delivery_date timestamp( 6 ),
    ... and more fields
    And a Trigger as following :
    create or replace trigger update_delivery_date
    before update of on Solicitudes
    for each row
    begin
    if ( :new.extern_code = 9 ) then -- I need update the "delivery_date" to the current date and timestamp
    select systimestamp into :new.delivery_date from dual;
    end if;
    end;
    The trigger works fine in the DB, but when I update the 'Solicitudes' data base table through the ADF Application, the 'delivery_date' field is updated to different current systimestamp , for example suppose right now is : 19-JUN-*2012** 10.45.30.773000000 PM -04:00 , it field should be update to this date, but it is not update to that date, it is update to : 10-DEC-*1989* 10.45.30.773000000 PM -04:00.
    Why is this ?
    I put in the SQL Developer's query editor : select systimestamp from dual; and it show me the correct date and time.
    That problem occurs only when I update the table through my ADF Application.

    Marco,
    I don't see any issue with ADF in this. Just tried with a dummy table created with similar structure and tried updating it (have a similar trigger as well). It updated with proper timestamp (tried from SQL Developer, AppModule Tester and in jspx page - all same result).
    Can you check the system date on the machine where your DB is hosted. I guess you are using different database for testing the query and the app is using a different db.
    If not, try creating a simple testcase (as I mentioned in the first line) and see if you are able to reproduce the issue.

    P.S : I tried this in 11.2.0.1 DB & JDev 11.1.2.0.0
