Start encoding on startup?

I think this question boils down to: what is the window name of FMLE 3 in Vista?
I want to setup a machine whose sole purpose is to live encode a single camera input. No problem. But I want it to automatically start encoding when the computer boots up, such as after a power outage.
I have the Vista machine setup to automatically log in. I have a .vbs that opens FMLE. But the FMLE window does not receive focus so the scripted {Enter} doesn't start the encoder.

The {ENTER} doesn't do anything since the FMLE window isn't activated.

Nevermind.
The window name is "Adobe Media Flash Live Encoder". I had tried that before with no luck but it is magically working now.
I'm leaving this thread up in case anyone can use the information.

I'm sceptical to if that's even possible, as that would have massive security risks.
Essentially what you'd have to do is add your app to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
within your registry.
so your best bet would be to look around and see if Actionscript can mess around with the registry, which i don't think it can due to the hugeeeeeee security implications it would create...i may be wrong though.
I know it's possible in C/C++ though.

when you install the disc, do it with the machine powered off. Place the disc in the the slot, push it in while holding the power switch tp poer it up, while holding the "C" key down till the gear starts spinning. After the gear starts spinning you can release the C key and wait. This takes much longer than normal longer, then create a new account. Be ready to wait.
USE YOUR ORIGINAL INSTALL DISC!

Is this for a computer model or an iDevice model? If the former you've posted in the wrong forum. But here's the answer.
Open General preferences in System Preferences. There are two options you can check that affect this behavior:
Check the boxes you thing you prefer. When you next shutdown the computer you should be asked in a dialog about reopening applications on restart. Select the option to not reopen.

Boot from the startup disk and run disk utility, repair permissions and repair disk as well. Reboot and see if this helps.
Your startup disk is completely full and could be why it will not boot. If you have access to another Mac and a firewire cable you can boot your broken Mac into Target Firewire mode by holding down T at the chime. This will then mean your broken Mac appears as an external drive on the other Mac allowing you to delete some files and see if it will boot once you have freed up some space.

Adobe Media Encoder CS6 - Startup crash

I am not able to start Adobe Media Encoder CS6 on Mac (Lion 10.7.3) - it always tries to load and gives me an "Adobe Media Encoder CS6 quit unexpectedly"
This happens with a freshly installed Web & Design Suite AND on both of my Macs.
I just re-installed Flash CS6 to verify - and still, no chance to open it.
Super annoying! What can I do?

So, I was able to resolve it based on this (old) thread which deals with the same kind of problem under CS5:

In short: delete the "Adobe Media Encoder" Folder from your User Preferences (/<Username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Media Encoder).
It will be recreated on next Startup.
What was strange was, that I need to provide admin password for deleting the Folder, although i's under my User Prefs.
This should not be the case and I suspect this to be the reason for the crash (Folder rights issue, preventing Adobe Media Encoder from writing in it's own Preferences Folder)

AME fails to start encoding after AE CC adds to queue why?

Hopping to get some help for a relative neebie.
I am testing a very small AE CC project. I basicly just animage 10 frames of a start moving across the frame.
When I goto Add to Adobe Media Encoder Queue... Nothing happens. Well almost nothing. The folder and temp .aep file is generated but then nothing happens.
So I then try adding an After Effects Composition from AME itself.... I use the dialogue to browse to my composition. I click it and I get a connection bar spining at the bottom and then finally a message: "Connected to DynamicLink Server". I can't click OK because the OK button is disabled. I click away and then click back and now the status says it's "Connected to my Project"
Can anyone tell me whats happeneing here?

Let's see if we can get you back in business ...
You need to boot from your install disk and run Disk Utility.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
If you cannot boot from your install disk, try booting in Safe Mode
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck

AME takes a long time to start encoding when using GPU Acceleration (OpenCL)

Have had this issue for a while not (current update as well as at least the previous one).
I switched to using GPU Hardware Acceleration over Software Only rendering. The speed for the actual encoding on my Mac is much faster that software only rendering. However, more often than not, the encoding process seems to stick at 0% waiting to start for a long time, say anywhere from 1 minute to several minutes. Then it will eventually start.
Can't seem to find what is causing this. Doesn't seem related to any particular project, codec, output format or anything else I can see. I'd like to keep using GPU Acceleration but it's pointless if it takes 5 times as long to even start as rendering by software-only would. It doesn't even pass any elapsed time while it's hanging or waiting. Says at 0 until it starts. Like I said, once it starts, it's a much faster render than what the software would take. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Actually, I just discovered it doesn't seem to have anything to do with OpenCL. I just put the rendering back to software only and it is doing the same thing. hangs for a long time before it starts to run. Activity monitor shows it running 85-95% CPU, 17 threads and about 615 MB of memory. Activity Monitor doesn't say its not responding, it just seems kind of idle. It took almost 7 minutes for it to start rendering.
1- Running version 7.2.2.29 of Media Encoder,
version 7.2.2 (33) of Premiere.
2- Yes, a premiere project of HD 1080 source shot with Canon 60D, output to H.264 YouTube 720, fps 23.976
not sure what you are referring to by native rendering. The rendering setting i tried now is Mercury Playback Engine Software Only if that is what you are referring to. But OpenCL gives me the same issue now.
3- H.264 YouTube 720, 23,976 - seems to happen on multiple output types
4- In Premiere, I have my project timeline window selected. Command-M, selected the output location I wanted and what output codec, selected submit to Queue. Media Encoder comes up, the project loads and I select the run icon. It preps and shows the encoding process setup in the "Encoding" window, then just sits there with no "Elapsed" time occurring until almost 5-6 minutes later, then it kicks in.

Most apps have started crashing on startup

As of today, most of my non-Apple standard apps have started crashing/quitting immediately on startup.
All the regular Apple apps work ok - Mail, Camera, Photo.
And some new apps I redownloaded that were crashing, like Google, now work again.
But most of my apps don't work. As soon as I start them up they immediately quit.
I tried a reset, but that didn't help.
Anybody ever see this before?

Never mind. It turns out I didn't do a true reset (hold the home and power buttons down until it automatically turns off and restarts). I was doing just a power down.
After a true restart everything started working again.

Yeah i strangly had this appear randomly on my system prefs window. Which i found strange even thought my card was a ATI.

I am running Adobe Media Encoder CS66.0.3.1 on Win7 64 with Intel i7-4770K CPU 16 GB Ram.
The source file is 1920 X 1080 29.97 fps. Output file is H.264 Android Tablet 1080 P 29.97 fps
I do not see any indication what so ever of what is going wrong. I have uninstalled the program completely and re installed it with no effect.

Microsoft Office 2011 Student starting up at startup. How to discontinue this?

I have recently bought Microsoft Office 2011 Student for my Macbook Pro and they automatically start up every time I start up my Macbook. How do I get the programs to stop starting up every time I start my Macbook? I have tried going to System Preferences and General and I have not seen any options for discontinuing this problem. I have also tried clicking on the programs themselves and trying to untick the option that says "Open at login" and it still continues to pop up. Any other solutions?

Make sure the programs are closed down before you shut the computer off. Then on the shut down screen there is a check box as the bottom to reopen programs at startup, uncheck that. Then open system preferences, users & groups and look at the login items. If any of the office programs are in there highlight them, one at a time, and hit the minus sign at the bottom of the area.

Its very easy to prevent Oracle XE from starting up automatically.Just change the startup type of the Oracle service to “Manual”.
You can do that by navigating to your Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services, double click on the Oracle service and change the Startup type to Manual.
