Starting a class as a Windows Service??
I�ve developed a server which has a startup class. What is the best way for me to install this class as a windows service that start up automatically at computer startup??
please help... I�m dying here

You could create a BAT script that starts your Java program and then use the program SRVANY.EXE to register the BAT-file as a Service.
SRVANY is on the Resource Kit.
Perhaps you can use http://www.firedaemon.com/ instead.

Can we start Node server as a windows service?
Hi,
I am starting admin server, managed server as windows service. I've also started node manager as windows service on a node machine. But, now if i want to start the node server, I am starting it from windows console. Instead of this, can i start the node server as windows service? If yes, please give the details.

I installed Admin Server as a windows service and when I started it, I got the below errors. Do you have any ideas?

If you see your logs, you server has actually started in "RUNNING" mode. Its only throwing lot of "ClassNotFoundException" because I guess they classes are not available in classpaths. If you know the "jar" which contains which are being complained, copy the jar files to "DOMAIN_HOME/lib" which is simple way to add jars to classpath.

Starting oracle weblogic server as windows Service
hi dear friends,
i am working with oracle Weblogic server 10.3 and oracle Jdeveloper 11g
i have an Ear file and deployed it on weblogic server and that work truly
now,i want to start my server with windows Services
for this goal i read some of the documents and created a windows service for my server
when i started windows Service of the server just console of weblogic is start
when i used debug mode for checking errors

Failed to start applications after deployed as Windows service.
I deployed Administration server as a Windows service. Started Administration server in Windows Serivices control panel. The applications FMW Welcome Page Application (11.1.0.0.0), DMS Application (11.1.1.1.0) failed. I also installed adf-richclient-demo, this application in prepared status.
It reported "java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.dms.wls.DMSServletFilter", when I tried to start the applications. However the applications are Ok by starting Administration server with domain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd.
Do any one know how to solve the issue?
Thanks!I asume you are using NodeManager to start AdminServer when you says "I deployed Administration server as a Windows service".
If so, make sure the jar file (jar that contains oracle.dms.wls.DMSServletFilter class) is added to CLASSPATH, that NodeManager uses to start the server. Node Manager starts a Server using the startup arguments configured for the Managed Server in the Server—>Configuration—>Server Start tab.
I suggest restart the NodeManager when you modify this properties.

Weblogic Server does not show managed server started when I used the Windows service to start it.
I created a windows service to start a managed server and the services was created successfully and stated. WHen I go to the Weblogic Server Admn console, the server is still showing shutdown. Whenm I try to start it, it returns with error that the the service is not able to start. Has anyone ran into anything similar. I am running on Windows Server 2008R2 and running Weblogic Server 10.3.6 and Fusion Middleware 11.1.6.

2) Download and implement Core Fix2 and Service Pack 3a (for 4.6)
3) Install all packages and connections to SAP Production
4) Set up BC application as Windows service

JMS resource not located when starting Weblogic 8.1 as windows service
I have a Weblogic 8.1 cluster which I am trying to configure as a Windows service.
The managed servers startup up without errors when started from the command line, but when I start it up as a service they do not seem to find the JMSConnectionFactory that has been configured.
Any ideas on what I am missing ?
MaliniCan you post the error message? Are your custom connection factories targeted to the cluster?

Unable to start Latitude Studio as a Windows Service
I installed endeca-portal-2.2.2 on 64 bit windows server.
It is working fine if I manually start the portal's Tomcat instance.
But I am unable to start as a Windows Service.
I followed the directions in "Running Latitude Studio as a Windows Service" in the Installation Guide.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.What version of the Apache tomcat zip did you extract the service.bat, tomcat6.exe and tomcat6w.exe? It looks like you are using the default java install, and the services is trying to start using the 64bit tomcat.exe.

In JMS Grid 5.1.x documentation (3.2.3 Starting a Daemon), the preferred way to dameon on Windows is to start as an NT Service. But I couldn't find the way of doing this. Does anyone know if and how this can be done?

Starting Admin Server with SSL as Windows service
Using Admin Server 5.2, SP3:
How (or can) I start the admin server as windows service after enabling SSL? When I try to start it as a service, I get prompted with a dialog box for the cert/key database password, but I want this start seemlessly. I tried creating a text file containing the password (as advised for normal directory server) - of the form: admin-serv-<inst>-pin.txt in the /alias subdirectory, containing the line "internal (software) Token:<password>", but this did not work - I still get the dialog box prompt.
Do I need to put this password file somewhere else? Do I need tweak something to make this work? Or is it impossible to start the admin server seemlessly as a service after enabling SSL?

Thanks for responding. I tried making the file read-only in Windows, but it yielded the same result. I also tried different combinations of removing spaces and new-line inside the file, all to no avail.
I think this is a different beast than the slapd server - the admin server is actually an 'ns-httpd' process; Since I saw that this was the case, I also tried updating the <server-root>\admin-serv\config\magnus.conf by adding an SSLPassPhraseDialog directive to a command that echo'ed back the password, but I just got a warning that this directive was ignored.
Any other thoughts? Does anyone else even try securing the admin server? -

then you can create a shortcut for ur webstart app, using the jnlp tag <shortcut>
then add this shortcut to your windows startup folder. -

HayathHere is code I have written to do this. It is deployed using the wrapper utility (see http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org), and I am including the wrapper config file that I use. You need to have the tnameserv.exe executable and tools.jar available - I simply deploy them in the same directory as the jar file I build form the cod below.
This may not be very elegant, but it works, and is in use on a daily basis in live newspaper publishing sites that use our software, so it works well.
