Starting Timer Control on WLS Startup

Hi,
I request some help urgently, esp from BEA support. We are building an app inside
WorkShop 8.1, with WLS 8.1 SP1. What we want to do is this: Execute some functionality
at periodic intervals. Part of this functionality is sending eMails, which is
provided by a workshop control.Now,we have a workshop timer control whose onTimeOut
method calls this mailSender mail control. What we cant figure out is how to start-up
this timer control when the WLS server JVM starts-up. We cant make a WLS start-up
class because this class wouldnt be able to call a workshop control. We are stuck
on this for a while now, so any help is appreciated.
Regards,
Vik

You can make it so that your ear deploys on startup, and you can fire things
in the app lifecycle listener. See:
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/deployment/concepts.html
Cheers

    A<ADVC-4> Absolutely, Timer mechanisms are the appropriate way to make your web

  • OMS Start Time

    Hi,
    I wonder if there is a way, either on the OMS server or at the backend repository database, to find out the last time that OMS was started. When I use emctl status oms -details it does not give the timestamp at which the current OMS was started. But when you do for an agent (emctl status agent) you do get such information for the agent start time.

  • Everytime I start time machine, my computer backs up +/- 250MB, then freezes.  Tried it with 3 different external drives, all stop at about the same point (they all work fine on other macs). Any suggestions?

         The drives I have are Seagate 1TB GoFlex portable drives (one has UBS 3.0, the other USB 2.0), and a WesternDigital 1TB passport (USB 3.0).  I originally tried to backup with Time Machine using the Seagate USB 3.0, and when that didnt work, Seagate suggested maybe since my operating system is a little older, that I try with a USB 2.0, so they sent me another NEW external hard drive, with the USB 2.0.  Had the same issue.  Frustrated and convinced that Seagate just  sucked, I went and bought the 1TB WesternDigital passport (USB 3.0).  Have the exact same issue again.  Every drive was new, and formatted for mac.  When I started time machine it started to back up my files, but froze after copying give or take 250 MB (usually 252.5MB, to be exact).  I went and tried the drive on several other macs, and none of them presented any problems.  I also tried dragging individual files, but it still freezes on pretty much anything bigger than +/- 100MB.  Disk Utility says that all the drives are fine. Obviously this is a problem with my computer, and not the 3 brand new external drives.  I thought about upgrading to OSX 10.6, but don't know if this'll help or not (plus, I'd really prefer to have all the files backed up on a drive before doing that, just in case).  I dont know what else to do.. called apple, but I'm not about to pay them $50 to have them MAYBE give me a solution (done that twice now for previous unrelated issues, and each time they just told me to take it to a computer repair place.)  Just seeing if anyone out there has a solution before I cave and take it back to the certified computer guys for them to figure it out.. Also, I live in Montana and theres no apple store anywhere close (not suprising), so taking it to an Apple Store is just not an option.
    Side note:  Seagate tech support is awesome; they tried everything to solve the problem, and they even bent their rules a little to send me a new drive, even though it wasn't a malfunction issue with their drive.  Really helpful, friendly people, which is much more than I can say for Apple at this point...

    this is what you need to do to exclude everything apart from desktop.
    on time machine preferences, click on Options
    click plus sign, on the new window, click macintosh HD
    do a Control + A then deselect users then click okay
    go to options again, plus sign, go to users, control +A then deselect your user account
    go to options again, plus sign, go to your user account, control + A, deselect desktop
    start the back up.

    Hello experts ,
    Last one and half month on-words we are phasing some problems on STMS
    while releasing the Transport Request getting this error messages on
    status-bar
    1. "could not start transport control program tp"
    2. while importing the TR into quality system getting this error message" RFC Error :timeout during allocate/CPIC-CALL "
    3.while forwarding the TR from QAS to PRD : " RFC Error :timeout during
    allocate/CPIC-CALL "
    after continues refreshing,we are able to release the request and importthe request into quality system. But after some time again same problem
    coming
    for this we did the kernel upgrade , tp , & R3trans update and STMS RE-
    Configuration etc...But no use with this we got the same problem after
    finishing all these workaround , but don't know what happened after 2-3
    days STMS starts working fine DEV-QAS-PRD ,
    Now we are in the same problem after continues refreshing,we are able torelease the request and import the request into quality system. But after
    some time again same problem coming
    please suggest us what could be the reason behind this & what we can do
    for better

  • How to Set A Default Start Time For New Events In Calendar?

    How to Set A Default Start Time For New Events In Calendar?

    John,
    Thanks for that suggestion - could not get it to work. However, I did manage a different approach. I finally determined the sequence of events in terms of how the various events and listeners fire (I think).
    Basically, the CalendarActivityListener fires, followed by the listener associated with the Calendar object's Create facet, followed finally by the CalendarEventListener - the final is where the TriggerEvent is available and then finally, control is passed to the popup/dialog in the Create facet. So, my approach of trying to set/get the TriggerDate in the user's HTTP session was doomed to failure because it was being get before it had been set :(
    Anyway, I ended up adding a bit of code to the CalendarEvent listener - it grabs the current BindingContext, navigates through the DCBindingContainer to derive an Iterator for the ViewObject which drives the calendar and then grabs the currently active row. I then do a few tests to make sure we're working with a "new" row because I don't want to alter start & end dates associated with an existing calendar entry and then I define the Start and End dates to be the Trigger Date.
    Works just fine. Snippet from the listener follows
    BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();+
    *if ( bindingContext != null )    {*+
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer) bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();+
    DCIteratorBinding iterator = dcBindings.findIteratorBinding("EventsView1Iterator");+
    Row currentRow = iterator.getCurrentRow();+
    if ( currentRow.getAttribute("StartDate") == null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("StartDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    if (currentRow.getAttribute("EndDate")==null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("EndDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    *}*

    First of all, I assume you mean "... up it does NOT start ..."?
    It might be helpful to point out that the purpose of the NodeManager is not to start the servers, but to "control" the servers through remote commands. When the NodeManager starts back up, it tries to reset the servers to the last known state it set them to, based on remote commands.
    For instance, if your system was running and you stopped the servers through the admin console and then restarted the machine, the NodeManager would not start the servers on machine startup, because the last controlled state of the servers was down. If all of your WebLogic servers were running as a result of NodeManager commands, and you pulled the plug on the box, when you restarted the machine, the NodeManager probably would restart the servers.

    Hi Giridhar,
    I think its a cpic timeout occurring before reading tp could start. Please check the parameter gw/cpic_timeout in your system. The default may be 20 sec for this parameter.. You can consider it increasing to 60 sec.

    I need to be visible from 5:00. Is it possible, make it automatic startup 5:00?

    hi mate, sorry to hear about your experience. in this case, the fault may lie with the Nokia Care point's handling of your device. in this case you will need to persist with them until they either fix it or issue you with a replacement. else if they are not being conducive to the matter, then you will need to take up the issue with head office of Nokia in your region.

  • Time Controlled Loop?

    I am building an application that scrolls through an panoraminc photo to make it appear as if its rotating 360 degrees.
    So far i can get the image to scroll left and right continously by having a left and right button to click on
    what i am after is some ideas/direction on how i could automate the process, as in when you click the left button the image will scroll at a certain speed.
    I was thinking that i would need a time controlled loop where the the method for scrolling the image to the left occurs every few seconds.
    Thanks in advanced

    Use a inner class that extends Thread as follow:
    class MyTimer extends Thread{
    boolean continue=true;
    public void stopScroll(){
    continue=false;
    public void run(){
    while(continue){
    try{
    xpos=pictureScroll(img, xpos, "right");
    sleep(100);
    }catch(InterrupdedException e){
    }use
    Thread t=new MyTimer ();
    t.start();to start scroll, and to stop
    t.stopScroll();in button's ActionPerformed

  • Start timer from another thread

    I am working on a project which will receive command from telnet and start a timer.
    In the sock function, I use form reference to call timer.start(), but timer control cannot start Tick event:
    Here is code for sock functin after receive the command:
     static void appServer_NewRequestReceived(AppSession session, StringRequestInfo requestInfo)
                switch (requestInfo.Key.ToUpper())
                    case ("START"):
                        session.Send(requestInfo.Body);
                        changetimer(1, requestInfo.Body);
    break;}}
    Here is the function to call timer start:
      static void changetimer(int action, string incomingmsg)
                //timer1.Start();
                Form1 frm = (Form1)Application.OpenForms["form1"];
                switch (action)
                    case 1:
                         frm.timer1.Start();
                         break;
                    case 2:
                        frm.timer1.Stop();
                        break;
    and this is timer tick :
    private void timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e)
                TimeSpan result = TimeSpan.FromSeconds(second);
                string fromTimeString = result.ToString();
                label1.Text = fromTimeString;
                second = second + 1;

    You should start the timer on the UI thread. You could use the Invoke method to access a UI element from another thread:
    static void changetimer(int action, string incomingmsg)
    //timer1.Start();
    Form1 frm = (Form1)Application.OpenForms["form1"];
    switch (action)
    case 1:
    frm.Invoke(new Action(() => { frm.timer1.Start(); }));
    break;
    case 2:
    frm.Invoke(new Action(() => { frm.timer1.Stop(); }));
    break;
    Hope that helps.
