Static in my ears...

I have the latest drivers for the C-Media onboard audio. In Windows 2000 with nothing open and the volume turned up to a pleasing level I get a ton of audible static.
Any idea why this is?
I had it a lil with my SB PCI 128 card, but not this bad.

that solved it. why was there so much static though coming through?

  • How to access static resources in ear without specifing context-root

    Hello, i have a problem with my ear.
    The war's structure is like this:
    ---/jsp
    ---/css
    ---/images/ViewRisposte.gif
    ---/xsl/Request.xsl
    ---/Common/data.xsl
    /error.xsl
    /input.xsl
    xsl files reference css and images files that are contained in css and images dir.
    I can't use the "../" to specify css and images path into xsl and jsp due to security policy setting on the Http server (and I can't change this policy).
    In the ear's application.xml is specified the context root of the module web with the name SABEARWeb
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <application>
    <display-name>SABEARWeb module</display-name>
    <module>
    <web>
              <web-uri>SABEARWeb.war</web-uri>
              <context-root>SABEARWeb</context-root>
         </web>
    </module>
    </application>
    For example with this following code (Request.xsl), how can i replace the "../" notation to access xsl and image resouces without write the context root? How i can insert the images and css references into xsl and jsp files?
    <xsl:import href="../Common/data.xsl" />
    <img align="center" width="20" src="../images/ViewRisposte.gif" id="viewXslRisp" title="Visualizza Risposta">...</img>
    Thanks a lot

    >>As I understand I should change View1 by handling command of button “Edit”, and then View 2 should be displayed, then I change data and then View1 should be updated. How to do it?
    For information about how to handle a command, please refer to my blog post:
    http://blog.magnusmontin.net/2013/06/30/handling-events-in-an-mvvm-wpf-application/
    You could bind the Command property of the edit button to an ICommand property of VMMain. When this command is executed you could then send a message using an event aggregator or some kind of messenger. Please refer to my blog post for more information about
    how to for example use Prism's event aggregator class to pass events between view model classes:
    http://blog.magnusmontin.net/2014/02/28/using-the-event-aggregator-pattern-to-communicate-between-view-models/
    Andy has written an example of how to use MvvmLight's Messenger class:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/26070.communicating-between-classes.aspx
    The concepts are the same but you will have to download and reference either Prism:
    https://www.nuget.org/packages/Prism/
    ...or MvvmLight: https://www.nuget.org/packages/MvvmLight/
    You then subcribe to this event or message in the main view model and change the value of the CurrentPageViewModel property whenever you recieve an event. Note that the class must implement the INotifyPropertyChanged interface and raise its PropertyChanged
    interface for this to work:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.componentmodel.inotifypropertychanged%28v=vs.110%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396
    This is how you are supposed to communicate between different view model classes.
    Hope that helps.

  • Loud burst of static when changing songs?

    My 5G iPod has recently started to occasionally blast a loud, high-pitched burst of static in my ear when I change songs using the "next" button.
    It doesn't happen all the time -- maybe 3-4 times over the last week -- but it's really unpleasant, and I'm afraid it could potentially hurt my ears if it decides to do it really loudly one day.
    Could this be a firmware issue? I don't remember this happening until fairly recently, possibly coinciding with the last firmware update.

    I've been playing with this for several hours. I can make it do it if I peg the memory use (not hard) and then do something like make a window go full-screen or anything that causes the bluetooth to glitch or pause. I got it to do it watching a YouTube video on full-screen, and then when I un-fullscreened, it blasted static. (So it's not just iTunes.) It appears to be the bluetooth, somehow.
    Under Mavericks, this never happened. But Yosemite does it a good portion of the time. Makes the headphones absolutely unusable.

  • Static Discharge

    So, I recently bought this iPod classic and I wish I hadn't. There's obviously something wrong. I'm a student so I have a backpack on for much of the day. When I have my iPod on and my headphones in, and I take off my back pack I get a massive discharge of static in my ears and a large amount of white noise. I thought it was a one time thing so I used it again, it fried my headphones. So then I thought maybe it was that pair of headphones, so I used a different pair... it happened again. It's very annoying and my friend had a different MP3 player with similar problems that just shut off one day after getting this shock. I know it's because of my back pack rubbing up against my sweatshirt causing the static, but should it be going through my device and headphones?? I don't want to loose my new purchase, and I didn't have enough money at the time to get a warrenty.
    ALSO... I bought a belkin rubber grip sleeve and the minute I took the iPod out of the box I put this sleeve on http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=463089 ...just like this for the classic and when I started getting these shocks I took it off and to my surprise there are white, crystal burst like formations embedded on the back of the device... so now I'm concerned there's something really wrong with it. What should I do? Anyone have simliar problems?
    Oh, I've used the iPod w/o the sleeve on, the shocks still happen and the speckles are still there...

    So I kept using the iPod, curious as to what would happen. It killed another headset, but then I reset the iPod and it works now... I have no idea what's going on or what might be wrong...

  • Auxiliary cable to car speakers works, but not to headphones

    Bought my iPod at Target just before Xmas 2012 (which means no warranty through Apple). Use it to listen to music on my car through an auxiliary cable which works just fine, but I just flew to Vegas for the weekend and it was the first time I used headphones on the iPod. It was nothing but static in my ears no matter how loud it was. Audio works great through external speaker on iPod and through auxiliary cable to my car apes lets. Also tried different headphones, same result - nothing but static. Please help?!
    I have an iPod touch 4th generation running iOS 6.1

    You should stil lhave the Apple 1-year warranty. To verify see:
    Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.
    Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • Microphone turning on for no apparent reason...

    I upgraded from 3.0 to 3.1 to 3.1.2 all in a very short period of time, so this problem might be for people with those OS as well however I'm currently using 3.1.2 and I am noticing that when I'm on Safari, or any app that happens to have a feature where you tap to enter information (such as the address bar/search feature), within about 3 seconds of taping and having the address bar/search feature/whatever come up, the clicking noise will happen (if it happens, since it doesn't always); when I put my ear to the microphone, it is obvious that the microphone is turning on (hence the soft clicking noise) and I can hear its static when my ear is up to it. I think this also might be happening at random other times as well, but it's very obvious that it happens most often when I am surfing around on Safari because I use it frequently and because if I'm in a quite room often typing in a URL or search, the clicking noise can be a constant annoyance. I suppose it is also worth mentioning that I recently (for an unrelated matter) went into General, Rest, and Reset All Settings.
    Does anyone else have this problem, or have any suggestions?

  • Iphone and Bluetooth earpeices.

    Ok, so I've had the iphone since it was released and the only real issue I have with it is the reception for bluetooth earpeices. I've had 3 different ear peices, the first 2 were plantronics, they both worked fine but then eventually got so much static in the ear peice I couldn't hear from them unless I had the phone less then a foot from the earpeice..
    Eventually I thought just the earpeices were peices of garbage so I just bought a new jawbone ear peice today, charged it, paired it and I'm still getting tons of static...
    Can anyone give any insight? I'm lost.
    Thank you!!!

    Sorry. Those ** stands for a word that rhymes w. smell and shell. It's the place you go after you die if you've been bad (e.g. posting profanity.) Didn't think it was offensive. Again sorry.
    As for the moto H700 (I checked the model number.) I don't know if it's still around--I've had it for awhile. I've been to two different Circuit City stores and both Verizon kiosks have clearance moto BT headsets for $15. It works good. The newer models have the fold out boom to toggle 0n/0ff. The $15 jobber is a 500 (older still) series... No toggle (bit for fifteen clams it's a steal any which way.)
    The latest Moto BT whichever series they are up to has got to be as good and presumably better.
    I agree w, the post that suggests all BT are subject to interference/static--to a point.
    The phone and the BT headset have a great deal to do w. how that interference is handled.
    I've been in a convertible going 50mph w. the jabra--noise cancel/military grade supposedly--and it worked like a charm--no static clear convo on both ends.
    I've been one foot from the iPhone BT headset and iPhone and turned my head mid call and couldn't believe the static. Also when walking to my car to office--the thing sounded like that place you go when you're bad (rhymes w. smell.) It wasn't windy at all but just the mere walking made it sound like a wind tunnel.
    iPhone thus far has less than stellar BT going for it--from what I've read here, my own experience and people I've spoken to. That being said, I use a BT more than I don't and while I've had better performance w. other phones (the convertible example was a Bb phone)---It still can be made to work--for me anyway.

  • Static files within a ear file     - help me if you can I am feeling down

    I am using oc4j.
    I have some static files (templates and configuration files for the applications) in an ear file.
    These files are addressed via web.xml init param and I use relative path.
    This works in my "working directory".
    But when I deploy the ear file the servlet cannot access the file (io exception file test/templates/temp.txt not found).
    Has anybody an idea how I must address the files in the web.xml?
    How can I address the files from /test level?
    Or is somthing wrong with the structur of the directory?
    my "working dirctory"
    appname/
    META-INF/application.xml
    test/
    web-inf/web.xml
    /classes
    /lib
    templates/temp.txt
    init-param
    <param-value>appname/test/templates/temp.txt</param-value>
    init-param
    <param-value>/test/templates/temp.txt</param-value>
    thanks in advance
    peter

    If these files are only accessed from the web module, then put these files in a subdirectory of the "WEB-INF" directory of the war file.

  • [weblogic 8.1-sp4] EAR and statics placement

    stupid question maybe, but i haven't found any clue.
    i have an EAR with some WARs and static stuff packed at the root of the EAR like "images/foo.gif", "styles/bar.css" etc. in our JSPs inside the WARs we use JSTL core "url" tag to resolve these links like <img src="<core:url value="/images/foo.gif"/>"> or <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="<core:url value="/styles/bar.css"/>">. all the stuff was in a single WAR before, but now when i've moved the statics away to the root of our EAR all such links are apparently broken.
    so the first question is how do i refer to statics placed at the EAR root from JSPs inside WARs (possibly without changing all thousands of pages that we have)?
    and the second is why none of the resources are accessible from browser using "http://localhost:7001/images/foo.gif" or "http://localhost:7001/styles/bar.css", which always give 404? could it be due to security constraints?

    I meant exactly what I said. You have to figure out the best way to implement that. If it's most effective to merge the WARS, then do that. There are other possibilities. You could deploy the shared content on a content delivery network (a fancy term for a separate fast server farm) and have your separate WARs reference them with external URLs to the CDN.
    Concerning the "why" question, I would just say "because". WebLogic is an implementation of the JEE specification. They've added extensions, but nothing that directly addresses your issue.

  • Static/poping sound/clicking while using my after market ear buds???

    I'm having the "Static" issue with my new iPhone 4 as well. However, I'm only getting the static while I'm wearing my ear buds and only while talking on my phone(No issues with itunes). I took my iphone 4 back to the Apple Store and got a new one! It's doing the same thing! So, either it's BOTH of the EXPENSIVE after market ear buds I own or it's picking up interference from the car... That's all I can come up with. Any other thoughts?
    Also, never happen with my other iPhones(3gs, etc..)

    Last night, I actually tried to run Premiere while that file was in the trash (removed from its original location) and the application simply would not start. The splash screen would appear for a fraction of a second and then the program would crash. It remained that way until I moved the file back into its usual location, after which point the application started up.
    The noise continued as before (adjusting my computer's volume also triggers it). I did notice a few things, though:
    1. It appears the noise occurs mainly after I switch into Premiere from another program or the Finder then navigate clips in the timeline panel. It typically occurs when I move the red line into a clip or out of one.
    2. It happens a handful of times, then seems not to occur again until I switch out of Premiere to another application, at which point it will happen a few more times, then typically stop.
    3. It seems to not occur at all when Audio 7 in the timeline is hidden.
    I still don't know what is really causing it but it looks as if I can work without incident if I keep Audio 7 turned off.
    What a strange situation.

    Hi,
    I have multiple web apps to be deployed to an intranet. I need to have acommon
    look and feel for these multiple webapps.
    I could place the webapps in a single ear file or deploy them without aear file.
    I wanted to know if there is any standard way to include static files likeimages,
    javascripts and css files (for a common look and feel) across multiple warfiles.
    Right now I am planning to keep a war file which just contains all thestatic
    files and point all the jsp pages in the other apps to the static files inthis
    common app. Is there a better way to go about this.
    Thanks,

  • When Siri is open, if you listen closely with the speaker next to your ear, you hear static.

    Tested on iPhone 5 and iPad with Retina Display (3rd generation)
    This even happens when Siri is not listening.
    Is this a part of noise canceling or something?

    Is anyone else having this?

    Are you sure you pushed the jack all the way in?

  • Remote creation of MBean deployed in EAR file : loader's ObjectName ??

    I am trying to implement a client which connects to the MBean server

    inside the ear file (and NOT in the "serverclasses" directory), it
