Stationery

Hi,
I'd like to use stationery in my Mail, but I have problem to send mail with attachment (pdf, doc, etc.) using stationery.
Does anyone knows how to fix it ?

I am finding the same problem.
I have built my own Stationery template, but when I attach a PDF to the email, Mail app displays a message (something like): "You cannot add attachments when using Stationery mail. Either add as a picture or remove the Stationery to send attachment."
Do I need to specify something in Stationery to allow attachments?
I have been following the "Mail Programming Topics" guide (dated 22 May 2007).
Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers

  • How do I Expand the Text Box in Mail Stationery?

I have a question about using stationery in Mail. Is there anything I can do to make the text box in certain templates to hold more content? It seems that, in some templates (like Bamboo, for example), the text box expands automatically as more content is keyed in. Yet, in the Tack Board template, for example, the text box does not expand beyond what seems to be a fixed length for content. How can I get the text box in Tack Board to expand for additional content?

Please check text input state defined , also if the form is inserted in any container then try to test out the form with different text input boxes in a new page.
Additionally , check the mid-hieght of text inserted in frame.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Print layout in case of pre printed continous stationery

    Dear Experts,
I have one query related to print layout designing. The issue is the PLD is set for an Invoice in the pre printed stationery & the printer out is take using continuous stationery the problem which i have faced is 1 page is printed properly but for 2nd page the print again starts from top so again the user have to do manual setting & print the 2nd page.
    Thanks & Regards-
    Manmath Das.

    Dear Manmath Das,
It is too difficult to handle the print on pre printed continuous stationery by PLD. PLD is a very basic tool. You may only get it work by endless try and error to see.
    Thanks,

  • The latest version of Pages does not allow a Pages document to become a 'stationery pad'!  Is there a way to do this this other than through the 'Get Info' window?

The latest version of Mavericks does not allow a Pages document to become a 'stationery pad'!  Is there a way to do this this other than through the 'Get Info' window?  As Pages templates cannot be ordered in folders, my many templates are effectively unusable now and I need to find another way to order and access them.

Are you aware of that you can still use Pages 09 on Mavericks? You don't have to go thru the grieves of using the crippled Pages 5. Pages 09 should bi in Applications/iWork 09 folder.

  • How To Use Stationery With Mail Replies

The issue of using stationery files was one of the main reasons why I personally resisted switching to Apple Mail from Eudora 6.2.4 for many years. I use stationery files a lot in Eudora.
Now that I have begun to use Apple Mail after all of these years -- I've been a solid Mac user for 21 years -- while I have been able to set up almost thirty custom stationery files, and can use them in original messages that I create -- although it takes seven steps from the time that I hit the "New Message" button to the time that I hit the "Send" button, while this can be accomplished in Eudora in only three steps using the "Message With" or "Reply With" message commands -- I have found absolutely no way to use my custom stationery files in reply messages in Apple Mail.
Surely there must be a simple way to include stationery files in reply messages. Can someone here please point me in the right direction? From what I can tell, there doesn't even appear to be a way to add the stationery button to the toolbar that is located on the top right side of the reply window.
I am also disappointed that there appears to be no way to delete the built-in stationery files that I have no use for, and which are just taking up space.
Furthermore, I haven't found any way to rearrange my custom stationery files in the order that I like them. I want to place the ones that I use the most on the left side of the display window. As it is now, the one that I use the most is located on the very end on the far right side, so I have to scroll way over to use it.
Apple, will you please address these basic Mail issues. Considering how advanced Mac OS X is, I am rather surprised that Apple Mail is deficient in these areas.
    Thanks so much!

As much as I have enjoyed using Eudora over the years, sadly, it is now falling behind the times. Some time ago, I began experiencing certain problems in some email messages, such as links not being clickable when they should have been, or at least not recognizing a certain link format, which resulted in Eudora throwing an error message. In other instances, email messages that were formatted in HTML were not displaying properly in Eudora.
The minute that I switched to Apple Mail, both of these issues were resolved, and I was quite surprised. It really made me realize how old Eudora has become. And the supposedly "new" Eudora? Nope, sorry, no thanks! That is not the real Eudora. I have now grown used to using Apple Mail, but again, I would really like the ability to respond with stationery files.
What also bugs me is that you cannot use stationery files with attachments, unless those attachments are images. For example, try attaching a zipped archive to an outgoing message that uses a stationery file. Everything seems okay until you hit the send button. Then you get a message which informs you that you either have to remove the zipped archive, or remove the stationery.
In the second decade of the 21st Century, I find these various problems with Apple Mail -- including the problems that I mentioned in my previous message -- totally unacceptable.

  • How to make a stationery out of .doc or .docx file?

    Hi,
I stumbled upon a website that has some nice stationery, in .doc format. and since there few free pre made stationery available for Mail.app, at least to my knowledge, because I think I almost downloaded every free stationery available out there that could be easily found via Google. I decided to download some of these .doc stationeries and try to put them in Mail.app, but first I had to convert them into .html format. so here is what I've already tried and did not work:
first I tried opening them in TextEdit, which supports .doc out of the box, only to find out that the pictures in the documents are gone to thin air. I tried saving it and then opening it with something else like Open Office, but the pictures were permanently gone.
then I tried opening the original documents directly in Open Office, you guessed right If you said they will look screwed, and they were, and tried to save them as html, they were screwed even more.
so I did a bit of research and found out that I could use Google Docs in order to convert the documents, I uploaded them into my Google docs and then tried to open them with it, but found it that Google docs can't handle the pictures (specially background pictures) either. as a result I did more searching to find a document converter and here is what I found:
I found a few online service to convert these documents:
http://www.freefileconvert.com/ was pretty good to convert the files into an .odt format. at first I thought yes I got the solution, now I can simply convert it to html using Open Office, but unfortunately, when I saved the document in html format and checked it in Safari to see how does it look, as If I would have done the same in MS Office with the original format, it looked pretty much screwed .
So I continued to look and I found a few other online services one of them asked me to pay a fee, I skipped to the other one which was http://docx-converter.com/. unfortunately the website wasn't functioning properly I think, at least for me (maybe someone out there has succeeded using it, I don't know.) and it didn't send me anything.
Finally I found http://www.zamzar.com/ that could convert .doc or .docx documents into html, or at least that is what it claims to do so, I tried it, and after I received the file via email, I found out it only contains a bmp image of the document's background. So much for the online conversion services!
But I decided I would give it a last shot using MS Office online, so I opened up my old Windows Live mail and went into my Skydrive, I uploaded the documents and tried saving it as html, but there were no save as html (after all an online copy of MS Office should have some limitations, otherwise few people will be willing to buy a Desktop version) but this didn't made me disappointed, since I already knew, that Neither Office Word can make a clear conversion, so I tried something different, while I was in Safari looking at the document in online MS office, I saved the page as Web Archives, then I opened the file with TextEdit, and after deleting useless links and pictures, I finally managed to get a clear document with everything that supposed to be in it. At this point I only need to know how to make use of this document to create a stationery with this raw file which is in Web Archive format. any ideas?
    null

I'm a total idiot! How did I overlook http://www.zamzar.com/ functions? I think I might have mistakenly chosen convert to BMP instead of html. I tried it and the result was very good.
OK I finally found a good solution for this problem, so everyone out there that has the same problem, here is what I did:
    1. OK if you have some .doc and .docx file formats and you want to convert them into something like .html or .odt, without having to reedit the code or getting a screwed document, use http://www.freefileconvert.com/ in order to convert them into .odt so they would look as they do in MS office just go to the website and upload your documents then choose .odt, then click convert, after a few moments you will get a link to download your .odt files. you can use and play around with your document in Open Office, I have tested it and it's really good.
    2. Or if you want to convert them into .html with a clean code, and all the elements in it, simply go to http://www.zamzar.com/ and then ulpoad your documents, choose .html and enter your email address, you will have your .html files zipped and sent right in your inbox, then you could use Kompozer like me, or any other html editor, to make a template out of it. I tried it and the result was nice, now I have a bunch of nice html files that I can use to make templates and email stationery.

  • Save as Stationery unavailable in Mail

I customized a stationery template that I had imported into Mail. Now I want to save it as a template, but "Save as Stationery" is greyed out in the File menu. Is there something I'm missing here? I've saved it as a draft, but want to use it multiple times.

Thanks, Gary, for the interesting idea but it won't work for me because the stationery I am trying to create contains a twenty address Bcc as part of my stationery. (That's the real reason I need this particular template). Following your instructions, I created a good "future" template and was just about to push the send button when I realized that twenty people will be getting a blank email from me. Not good as that tends to lower your "Sender Rating" with friends. ;-)
I don't know why this is so hard for Apple to do for us? Eudora did this so elegantly ten years ago.
It is virtually impossible to make an addressed template with an signature in Apple Mail. How wimpy!
Any ideas would be dearly appreciated.

  • Just Bought a MacBook Pro. How do i add Stationery to mails While Replying?

    Hi Guys,
The Stationery in the mail is showing up for new mails, but when i reply to a mail it's not showing up? The stationery is one of the main reasons i bought the Apple Book.
It'd great if someone could guide me on how to use stationery while replying to mails..
If Apple can't do it can any third party software do it?
    Thanks in Advance:)

You could but that would be fairly slow and cumbersome. My recommendation is to get yourself a good quality Firewire 800 external drive and save your data files there. I would recommend either OWC Mercury Line, Lacie Quadra D2 or G Tech G Drive. This solution would be a little more expensive initially but would prove it's worth in the long term. All of these drives have similar features and are all high quality products.
If you haven't already carefully go over this information to prepare:
    Switch 101
    Mac 101
    Hope this helps some.

  • Template or Stationery?  Which is better to use for building pages?

I'm going to start building my tier 2 and tier 3 pages, and want the nav bar on every page to update with the new tier 2 pages that I add.
Will a template or stationery page update the nav bar? The content will change on each page, but as I add the tier 2 pages, those will become part of the navigation bar throughout the site. How do I do this, or maybe the better question is...which should I use, a template or stationery?
    I'm using GoLive 6.
    Thanks,
    Kirstyn Sierra

    NAVIGATION AS A COMPONENT:
Basically, you build your navigation into a separate file that only has the navigation links and save it as a Component. Then, in your site pages, you drop in the Component into the page where needed. Later, if you add a page, you add the link to your Component, which then goes through all the pages you dropped the Component into and updates them to match what you just saved. You then re-upload all your modified files so the copy online matches.
    SITE TEMPLATE:
You build the entire page design template structure, putting everything where you want. You define "editable" regions in the template for the content that changes with every page (the main body content - basically everything except the basic structure and navigation) and save it into GoLive's Templates folder. You make new pages based on the template, and everything's locked except the part(s) that change on every page. You add the page-specific content to the editable region and save. Later, if you make a change on the master Template file, those changes are copied by GoLive into any page based on that template, but it ignores the "editable" regions so as not to override the page-specific content.
Either way you go, you'd need to read the manual for your version of GoLive for the specifics on how to set up Templates or Components (and post back here if you run into questions). I don't have a copy of GoLive 6 installed, so can't spout the details off the top of my head :-)

  • "Save as stationery" not working-Another suggestion

For those who wanted to keep and send the same standard mail template with their own pictures to different people:
Since "Save as Stationery" doesn't work, It has been suggested here to send a template to yourself, cut and paste and try various fixes.
It is obviously not the right solution since inserted text will break the graphic.
Also making your own template doesn't warrant the time it takes to do it, if all you want to do is send a few copies of a ready made template with a same set of pictures.
What I am doing is saving a template with my own pictures as "Draft" then duplicating it a few times inside the Draft" folder, the way I did before Leopard, with plain mail to which I had appended pictures to be sent to multiple recipients.
On each "Draft" thus created, I can change the text as I want, keeping the same pictures in place.
    I hope it helps.

Reinstalled SL over current installation and updated to 10.6.1.
'Save as PDF" still doesn't work.
If 'Save as PDF' is an Automator workflow, here's a clue perhaps...
In user>library>pdf services, found a workflow reading 'Save As PDF-X.workflow'. When clicked, opened up the Automator library with the following message:
"The behavior of this workflow may have changed because of the reasons listed below.
The workflow was saved with an older version of the action "Apply Quartz Filter to PDF Documents. Some behavior may have changed."
    Anyone?

  • How to set stationery in Mail, using AppleScript

Is there a way to automatically use specific stationery with Mail, from an AppleScript script?
To the script below I would like to add an instruction which asigns stationery to the mail message, and so far I have not yet found a working way of doing it.
    on run {theSubject, theBody, theAttachment}
              tell application "Mail"
                        set newMessage to make new outgoing message with properties {visible:true, subject:theSubject, content:theBody & return & return}
                        tell content of newMessage
make new attachment with properties {file name:theAttachment} at after the last paragraph
                        end tell
      activate
              end tell
    end run
I found an Automator example which requires the installation of an action, but once installed, it does not work. (It must have worked in OSX 10.6, but it does not on Mountain Lion) Here: Automator: Examples
    Any ideas, anyone?
    Thanks, Oliver

    try this:
    tell application "Numbers"
tell table 1 of sheet 1 of document 1
repeat with i from 1 to row count
if value of cell 14 of row i is equal to renew_month then
set address_to to value of cells of row i
                                  end if
                        end repeat
              end tell
    end tell

  • How do i delete a stationery in mail that doesn't have the X

How do i delete a stationery in mail that doesn't have the X to delete it and its beger then the rest of my other stationery

"when I try save to PDF it just wants to save it to a file?"
Correct. The difference between "Mail PDF" and "Save PDF" is that the first opens a new Mail message with the file attached. the second saves a file which you may attach to an email message.
"Terrainathome is a good example of what I am trying to do."
Not familiar with Terrainathome, but my guess is that the company is sending an email message containing HTML code that downloads what's essentially a web page into the displayed message. To do that, you'll need a website, software that will produce the necessary HTML code, and recipients with email clients capable of interpreting HTML (which is 'most email clients' these days).

  • Why can i not open "show stationery" in mail

    Hello,
in my mail i cannot use „show stationery”  anymore. If i click on ’’show stationery’’  in a  new massage, the connection with my mail will be broken.
Recently i tried to save a photo in: ’’save as stationery’’and than i have had this problem . Does anyone know how to solve this?
    Thanks!

When I click on "Mail Help" and search for stationery, it tells me "
    Use stationery in messages
You can add a personal touch to a message by applying a stationery template; you can even include photos. For example, if you’re writing friends to invite them to dinner, you can apply the Dinner template to make your message look like a professionally printed invitation.
    HideApply a stationery template
In the New Message window, click the Stationery icon in the toolbar."
WHERE IS THE STATIONERY ICON IN THE TOOLBAR?

  • How do you save a customized stationery email.

I can't seem to find a way of saving customized stationery.
I put my pictures into the stationery template, no problem and I could send this but the "Save as Stationery" option in the File menu is always greyed out. This means I can't find a way of creating my own Stationery for future use, I have to make it from scratch each and every time.
    What am I missing here

I was surprised that no one wanted to answer this question.
    I waited long enough.
I still don't have this working properly

Could this be possible due to the upgrade to 10.6 from 10.5? Or am i doing something wrong? Is there a separate upgrade for this?
