Statistics Enhancement

Dear SDN's,
I successfully installed BI Statistics cubes in our BI 7.0 system.
As my user wants to see the costcentre should be included in all the BI Statistics cubes,my question is  BI Statistics cubes are my self cubes.
If i want to add costcentre in all the BI statistics cubes where i need to enhance the cubes R/3 or in BI system ?
If enhanced all cubes with costcentre should i enhance RSDDSTAT tables also with costcentre ?
Thanks and Kind Regards,
Lakshman Kumar G

Hi,
You need to add in BW (If it is InfoCube), just double click on Cube the it will display Cube Structure, so there you can find CostCentre from right side and then move it to Left side and assign the dimension.
To get the data for this you need to enhance the datasource in ECC, if costcentre is already there in DataSource then you don't need to enhance the DS in ECC.
Thanks

  • Is it possible to Enhance 0TCT_C* BI Statistics Cubes

    Dear SDN's,
We successfully installed BI Statistics Cubes in our BI 7.0 system.
But we want Costcenter to be avilable in all the BI Statistics Reports.
Is it possible to enhance all 0TCT_C* cubes with costcenter.
Are we need to do enhancement for virtual cubes also i.e 0TCT_VC* (or) only enhancement to 0TCT_C* Cubes
    Please let me know ASAP
    Thanks and Kind Regards,
    Lakshman Kumar G

    Dear Priyanka,
I added costcentre as a navigational attribute to 0TCTUSERNM and made a transfer routine to Costcentre.
My client wants to see which user belongs to which costcentre and how much frequency he using the cubes or queries.
Please let me know which is the best option
    (1) adding as a navigational attribute to info object
    (2) enhancing and coding the 0TCT_C* cubes,
    Thanks and Kind Regards,

Customizing exits allow you to add your own functionality to SAP’s standard business applications without having to modify the original applications. SAP creates customer exits for specific programs, screens, and menus within standard R/3 applications. These exits do not contain any functionality. Instead, the customer exits act as hooks. You can hang your own add-on functionality onto these hooks.
If you want to enhance the functionality of your R/3 System, you should take advantage of the exits available in standard R/3 applications. There are two main reasons why you should use exits rather than modifying SAP software yourself. Add-ons attached to exits have the advantage that:
    •     They do not affect standard SAP source code
When you add new functionality to your SAP System using SAP’s exits, you do not alter the source code of standard SAP programs in any way. The code and screens you create are encapsulated as separate objects. These customer objects are linked to standard applications, but exist separately from SAP’s standard software package.
    •     They do not affect software updates
When you add new functionality to your R/3 System using SAP’s exits, your objects (called customer objects) must adhere to strict naming conventions. When it comes time to upgrade a to a new software release, customer objects’ names ensure that they will not be affected by any changes or new additions to the standard software package.
Customer exits are not available for all programs and screens found in R/3 standard applications. You can only use customer exits if they already exist in the R/3 System. You find find more information about locating applications with pre-defined exits in Locating Applications that have Exits.
As part of the enhancement concept, it is possible for the customer to
add his own elements to application logic, screens and menus.
The current possibilities for enhancement are:
    Text enhancements:
Allow the customer to add supplementary documentation for data fields
non-specific to a transaction, and to change key word texts.
    Field exits:
Every screen element with data element reference can branch to PBO or
prior to PAI to a function module if desired. The field contents are
available here for doing special checks and making changes (e.g. user-
specific checks, authority checks, writing entered data and producing
         statistics...).
    Function exits:
From the main program you branch into a software level, in which you you
can store ABAP/4 coding. The applications programmer at SAP determines
where in the main program the function exit is placed, and which data is
imported/exported via the interface. The accompanying documentation
describes the functionality of the function exit.
         Menu enhancements:
Pre-conceived menu items can be activated and named. On the function code
set at menu item selection, there can be a reaction in a relevant
         function exit.
    Screen enhancements:
The customer can determine the layout of areas in screens provided by the
applications developer. Here, additional information can be displayed or
         data entered.

  • Enhanced internet snails pace

I thought I would post this before switching to Comcast. I recently upgraded to "enhanced". I am told the best speed that I could purchase was 1.1 to 3.0 mbps. After the "upgrade" I went from .79 to .97. I called the off shore support, and actually spoke to an intelligent rep. After about 30 minutes my speed was 2.84. I was thrilled. Each day for the past week the speed has dropped, and now I am at 1.28. I tried calling support again, and after nearly and hour on the phone "reading the script" I asked for a supervisor or another rep. I wasw disconnected with no call back. There is no one that you can talk with to explain your problem to. What happened in Verizon's Co that cut my speed?I can't purchase Fios, and I can't talk with a live person. Is going to Comcast my only solution?

Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up.  It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace)  might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
For example this what I saw when I was using Verizon

Step two: Can you provide the Transceiver Statistics from your modem?
#3 If you don't know how to get that info:
    a) What is the brand and model of your modem?
    b) If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to it: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
#4 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to the modem, even if you know how to get the Transceiver Statistics from the modem: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?

  • Ability to run Reports on Media Download items... (Enhancement Request)

I would like to suggest that ABC consider enhancing the Reports section to allow users to run reports on the Media Download items.  I have a client that is interested in tracking their download activity of whitepapers and brochures off their website, and while you can go to each of the individual items and see the activity in a graph, this is limiting in a number of ways.
Activity is not able to be pulled into their own reporting system and they have to manually re-enter the numbers based on day, month, etc... to get the information. We should be able to export the information and have it pulled down via CSV like other statistics on the site.
It's cumbersome and time consuming to have to go to each individual item and look at the "Activity" one at a time. If this were added to the Reports section, users could go in and review the Media Downloads (in total) to see how many times information is being pulled off their site, but then use the sort/selection options to quickly jump to each of the individual Media Download items. As with #1, it would also be advisable to have this data exportable into a CSV file so that it can be used in Excel, then sorted that way.
It would also be good to add the Media Downloads as an option to the Custom Reports area, so that a client could save certain search options to pull specific sets Media Download items to see what's being downloaded from their site.
Hopefully this can get some traction in the ABC community, or if someone out there is aware of how to do this otherways, please let me know. I did chat with SBC support via Chat and they indicated that what I wanted to do was not possible at this time.
    Thanks,
    Eric

Eric-  While you are waiting for this feature to be added to reporting-- have you tried using Google Analytics Event Tracking to track the downloads?  You'll get an accurate representation of downloads if you hook that up.
For more information on Event Tracking see: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/eventTrackerGuide
You might, for instance, make sure all your Media Download links have a class of "media-download" and using javascript can track a "Download" event when those links are clicked.

  • Statistics on automatic processed payments by the electronic bank statement

Hi fellow sap knowledge hungering colleagues.
I have set up the EBS application in my company and it has now run for 4 month with ok success.
I now have to do a follow-up on the project and therefore I'm interested in seeing how many payments have been automatic processed by the EBS application.
I cant seem to find any characteristics on the payment documents that separates the ones that have been automatically processed and those that have been post processed in the FEBA transaction. When each statement is imported you get a sum up on how many pay-ments where automatically processed but is it possible to see overall statistics for all the statements and if not is it possible to recall the statistics for each imported statement?

    Hi,
the bank normally includes the details provided by the customer in the bank statement.
depending upon the information provided, the user can clear the customer line items. In order to auto clear using EBS, you can use enhancement FEB00001. You can have your logic to auto clear.

  • Issue after BI statistics activation in ST03N

    hi gurus,
wE HAVE ACTIVATED bi statstics but cube 0tct_c01 is getting zero delta records everyday & also we are not getting any statistics data for infocube/reports in ST03N only i can see statistics for PROCESS CHAINS/infopackge/DTP
Can anyone help me here ? Is there any SAP note that can rectify this situation.
    thanks
    nilesh

    Hi Pathak ,
    1. Check the tables RSDCUBE and RSUPDINFO for the Infocube - 0TCT_C01 and make sure the TIMESTMP are same for the infoprovider . If they are not same , then re-activate the update rule from the content.
After that try to make a new init/load and make sure the init loads are green and then check the results.
    2. Maintain the necessary parameters for collecting the statistical data properly .
You can refer to note-1237091 (Enhancements to Query Runtime Statistics of BI Admin Cockpit)  for it .
    3. If still , your issue is not fixed , then apply the notes -
1317483 -  (BI Application name missing for 3.X Workbook and Templates)

  • Upgrade to High Speed Internet Enhanced : Not working

I recently upgraded my internet connection to High Speed Internet Enhanced (7.1 Mbps to 15 Mbps) from my old plan which had a speed of 1Mbps to 3.1Mbps. The order status indicates that the service has been activated. But still I am experiencing only the old speed (approx 2.5 Mbps only). Can anyone help?

Could you post your modem's Transceiver Statistics for us? If you don't know how to get them, finding your modem make and model and posting it up will help us help you get them.
One key thing to lay out on the table, if it isn't a stats issue it's possible 3Mbps/768kbps is your max speed due to your line coming from a Remote Terminal or DSLAM rather than the CO itself. Remotes are currently capped at 3Mbps, with the exception of a few meant to act as Mini-COs due to the lack of capacity going to them, and especially due to some of them being quite old. This is something for a person with the right level of access to the network or your account to find out. I've got someone who will check and turn up the speed if possible but we need to see the stats first.

  • Enhanced speed

I pay for enhanced speed internet but the speed test I did showed it at .33 not even 1mps!!! Why should I keep paying 40 a month if I am not getting the speed I am paying for

Some upload results, along with a ping result and some Transceiver Statistics would be appreciated in this case. If you need help finding how to get the Transceiver Statistics, tell us what modem you have (make and model) and if you have any separate routers.

  • Statistics in Appleworks

    Hello,
I am doing some work in statistics for a science class at my university. Is there some way to tell the spreadsheet program to put a "best-fit line" on a plot of data points?
I have looked through the function list and I haven't found anything. Currently, I am doing this through my graphing calculator, but I would rather do everything all in one place.
All the examples in my lab manual are done in Excel but I figure that AppleWorks is probably similar enough that I can get away with using AppleWorks.
Thank you for taking the time to respond.
    -Rolf

AppleWorks can't do this natively, although I think there is an enhancement pack available at the AppleWorks Users Group that includes this capability. You might also check VersionTracker for an application named "Regress+" that is specifically made for such an application. Just import the graph into your AW document.

    Hi Julius,
Have your tried scheduling the update stats via DB13 'Immediately'. ??? Does it still gives you the same error when its done 'immediately'?
Try out DB02 and check your whole Database along with missing indexes. Refresh database and update histories.

  • BW Statistics setting.

    Dear All,
I am having some doughts on BW Statistics Setting,
In selection for BW Statistics settings ( AWB->Tools-> BW Statistics for infoprovider) all objects including Master data object/ODS/Cube is selected.
My doughts is that is BW Statistics work for Master data objects/ODS ?
or it only work for Cube.
Do we need to deselect all check box in seting for Master Data object/ODS and only need to be checked for Cube.
    Thanks All in advance.

    Hi,
With the new architecture for BI reporting, collection of statistics for query runtime analysis was enhanced or changed. The parallelization in the data manager area (during data read) that is being used more frequently has led to splitting the previous "OLAP" statistics data into "data manager" data (such as database access times, RFC times) and front-end and OLAP times. The statistics data is collected in separate tables, but it can be combined using the InfoProvider for the technical content.
The information as to whether statistic data is collected for an object no longer depends on the InfoProvider. Instead it depends on those objects for which the data is collected, which means on a query, a workbook or a Web template. The associated settings are maintained in the RSDDSTAT transaction.
Effects on Existing Data, Due to the changes in the OLAP and front-end architecture, the statistic data collected up to now can only partially be compared with the new data.
Since the structure of the new tables differs greatly from that of the table RSDDSTAT, InfoProviders that are based on previous data (table RSDDSTAT) can no longer be supplied with data.
    Effects on Customizing
The Collect Statistics setting is obsolete. Instead you have to determine whether and at which granularity you wish to display the statistics data for the individual objects (query, workbook, Web template). In the RSDDSTAT transaction, you can turn the statistics on and off for all queries for an InfoProvider. The maintenance of the settings (such as before) from the Data Warehousing Workbench can be reached using Tools  ® BW Statistics.
You can use this BRCONNECT function to update the statistics on the Oracle database for the cost-based optimizer.
By running update statistics regularly, you make sure that the database statistics are up-to-date, so improving database performance. The Oracle cost-based optimizer (CBO) uses the statistics to optimize access paths when retrieving data for queries. If the statistics are out-of-date, the CBO might generate inappropriate access paths (such as using the wrong index), resulting in poor performance.
From Release 4.0, the CBO is a standard part of the SAP System. If statistics are available for a table, the database system uses the cost-based optimizer. Otherwise, it uses the rule-based optimizer.
Partitioned tables, except where partitioned tables are explicitly excluded by setting the active flag in the DBSTATC table to I. For more information, see SAP
InfoCube tables for the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW)
You can update statistics using one of the following methods:
DBA Planning Calendar in the Computing Center Management System (CCMS)
For more information, see Update Statistics for the Cost-Based Optimizer in CCMS (Oracle). The DBA Planning Calendar uses the BRCONNECT commands.
We recommend you to use this approach because you can easily schedule update statistics to run automatically at specified intervals (for example, weekly).
To use the CBO, make sure that the parameter OPTIMIZER_MODE in the Oracle initialization profile init.ora is set to CHOOSE.
BRCONNECT performs update statistics using a two-phase approach.
           1.      Checks each table to see if the statistics are out-of-date
           2.      If required, updates the statistics on the table immediately after the check
For more information about how update statistics works, see Internal Rules for Update Statistics.
You can influence how update statistics works by using the -force options. For more information, see -f stats.
Unless you have special requirements, we recommend you to perform the standard update statistics, using one of the following tools to schedule it on a regular basis (for example, daily or weekly):
DBA Planning Calendar, as described above in "Integration."
A tool such as cron (UNIX) or at (Windows NT) to execute the following standard call:
    brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t all
This is also adequate after an upgrade of the database or SAP System. It runs using the OPS$ user without operator intervention.
Update statistics only for tables and indexes with missing statistics
    brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t missing
Check and update statistics for all tables defined in the DBSTATC table
    brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t dbstatc_tab
For examples of how you can override the internal rules for update statistics, see -force with Update Statistics.
The InfoCube tables used in SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW) and Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO) need to be processed in a special way when the statistics are being updated. Usually, statistics should be created using histograms, Statistics for the InfoCube tables can be updated, together with other tables in a run. In this case, the statistics for the InfoCube tables are always created with histograms. You can specify which tables are to be handled as InfoCube tables using the init.sap parameters:
            stats_table
            stats_exclude
            stats_dbms_stats
The function of this keyword is to ensure that only InfoCube tables are processed in accordance with the selected parameter settings.
Statistics are only checked for InfoCube tables and updated, if required
            brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t all -e info_cubes
Statistics are checked for all tables besides InfoCube tables and updated, if necessary.
            stats_dbms_stats = INFO_CUBES:R:4
brconnect -u / -c -f stats -t all, Statistics are checked for all tables and updated, if necessary. New statistics for InfoCube tables are created with the DBMS_STATS package using row sampling and an internal parallel degree of 4.
This is the default. Statistics are checked for all tables and updated, if necessary. If InfoCube tables are present and selected following the update check, statistics are generated for them using histograms.
You can update statistics on the Oracle database using the Computing Center Management System (CCMS).
The CBO is a standard part of the SAP system. If statistics are available for a table, the database system uses the cost-based optimizer. Otherwise, it uses the rule-based optimizer.
You can also run update statistics for your Oracle database using BRCONNECT. Refer to Update Statistics with BRCONNECT. This is the recommended way to update statistics.
Update statistics after installations and upgrades
You need to update statistics for all tables in the SAP system after an installation or an upgrade. This is described in the relevant installation or upgrade documentation.
           1.      You use the DBA Planning Calendar in CCMS to schedule regular execution of check statistics and, if necessary, update statistics. For more information.
           2.      If required, you run one-off checks on tables to see if the table’s statistics are out-of-date, and then run an update statistics for the table if required. This is useful, for example, if the data in a table has been significantly updated, but the next scheduled run of update statistics is not for a long time.
You can check, create, update, or delete statistics for:
    ¡        Single tables
    ¡        Groups of tables
           3.      If required, you configure update statistics by amending the parameters in the control table DBSTATC . This control table contains a list of the database tables for which the default values for update statistics are not suitable. If you change this table, all runs of update statistics – in BRCONNECT, CCMS, or the DBA Planning Calendar – are affected. Configuring update statistics makes sense with large tables, for which the default parameters might not be appropriate.
Do not add, delete, or change table entries unless you are aware of the consequences.
Tables from the DBSTATC table with either of the following values:
             ACTIVE field U
ACTIVE field R or N and USE field A(relevant for the application monitor)
          6.      BRCONNECT writes the results of update statistics to the DBSTATTORA table and also, for tables with the DBSTATC history flag or usage type A, to the DBSTATHORA table.
          7.      For tables with update statistics using methods EI, EX, CI, or CX, BRCONNECT validates the structure of all associated indexes and writes the results to the DBSTATIORA table and also, for tables with the DBSTATC history flag or usage type A, to the DBSTAIHORA table.
          8.      BRCONNECT immediately deletes the statistics that it created in this procedure for tables with the ACTIVE flag set to N or R in the DBSTATC table.

  • Gather Schema Statistics improve the performance of the R12 application?

    Hi All,
If we run “Gather Schema Statistics” program, it will improve the performance of the R12 application?
Platform Linux and DB version 10.2.0.4.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Tharun

    Hi Tharun,
If we ruer n “Gather Schema Statistics” program, it will improve the performance of the R12 application?
Yes, it will speed up as it ensures to have an up to date statistics.
    Please refer notes:
Concurrent Processing - How To Gather Statistics On Oracle Applications Release 11i and/or Release 12 - Concurrent Process,Temp Tables, Manually [ID 419728.1]
How Often Should Gather Schema Statistics Program be Run? [ID 168136.1]
    Why Stats Gather?
Stats gathering must be set as a routine job and is recommended to be scheduled. Even though this program is available from the fronted in the form of submitting a concurrent program basically it performs a DB level enhancement and ensures that you have an up to date optimizer statistics.Because the objects in a database can be constantly changing, statistics must be regularly updated so that they accurately describe these database objects.
For indepth understand as to why it should be run, please refer doc:
    Managing Optimizer Statistics

  • Statistics in 2004s

    Hi,
What are the possibilities for running statistics on user activity in the portal - KM repository activity and browsing (page/iView hits) etc.
    Regards,
    Erik

    Hi Erik,
for gathering information about the number of users who visited each page and iView you can use the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/58/728ea01cf64fff996b827f2a06f9b1/frameset.htm">Portal Activity Report</a>.
There are also some interesting weblogs about this report if you need more information, just search here on SDN under weblogs.
Unfortunately, there is not such a feature delivered in the standard for KM repository activity. But there is an article by Thilo Brandt dated 11th July 2006 named <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/7d28a67b-0c01-0010-8d9a-d7e6811377c0">Enhancing Customer Reports with Commands and Parameters</a>. This article describes how to implement a KM activity report. <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/message.jspa?messageID=2718476">This thread</a> might also be usefull if you have problems using the provided code.

  • Highspeed Internet Enhanced - slow as un-Enhanced

I have been a Verizon DSL customer for years. At first the line speed was not to bad (much better than 56kb dialup). But as years passed, the line speed got slower and slower. Now I experience time-outs when moving from one screen to another on the same web site, including the Verizon web sites. I have timed the movement between screens and found it takes 30 seconds+ for most movements. I switched from the regular High Speed to the Enhanced and did not notice any improvement. I get the advertisements for FIOS each time I log into Verizon. I have been waiting for 3 years for the FIOS to be offer in my area. If Verizon cannot offer what they advertise, they should quit advertising until the service is available.
I am seriously considering going to Cox for my phone and DSL services. Many of my neighbors have and say it is much better.

For example this what I saw when I was using Verizon
        news.giganews.com
traceroute to 71.242.*.* (71.242.*.*), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

        4 so-7-1-0-0.PHIL-CORE-RTR1.verizon-gni.net (130.81.20.137) 6 ms 6 ms 6 ms
        5 P3-0-0.PHIL-DSL-RTR11.verizon-gni.net (130.81.13.170) 6 ms 6 ms 6 ms

Step two: Can you provide the Transceiver Statistics from your modem?
#3 If you don't know how to get that info:
    a) What is the brand and model of your modem?
    b) If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to it: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
#4 If you have a RJ-45 WAN port router connected to the modem, even if you know how to get the Transceiver Statistics from the modem: What is the brand and model of the RJ-45 WAN port router?
