Statistics in 2004s and Query total runtime

Hi Everyone,
We are setting up stats in 2004s. We have all business content activated and loading successfully. All looks good from that end. We see Data Manager and Frontend Cubes (Basic and Virtual).
Question is:
Where exactly can you see total query runtime? The data is broken out by Data Manager (backend/DB time) and Frontend (OLAP time).

I am building a Query for Total runtimes for Process Chain Statistics. I used the Cube 0TCT_MC21 for Query - 0TCT_MC21_Q0101.
I dragged in Keyfigure section - startdate, end date, Start time are all correct and fine but the End time (0TCTENDTIM) is coming incorrect. Is something else i should use to get the End time?
Please let me know if any suggestions?

Just check if the end times are in GMT ?? usually happens with timestamps....

Very simple answer, outdated statistics will lead optimizer to create bad plans which in turn will require more resources and this will impact performance. If index is fragmented ( mainly clustered index,holds true for Non clustred as well) time spent in finding
the value will be more as query would have to search fragmented index to look for data, additional spaces will increase search time.

You can accomplish that using decode with the grouping function. It returns 1 when that column passed as argument was grouped (or is in some total) and 0 otherwise.

Query generator used to make general total and row total

Dear experts/gurus,
I have a problem how to create general total and total field in row by using query generator. In inventory in warehouse report of SBO 2004A SP 00 PL 41, there are total row of price x quantity / warehouse (if selection criteria is warehouse) and general total. I have made query report that quite similar with inventory in warehouse report using query generator and put selection criteria and item but I still can't find out the solution. is it possible using query generator to do that or if I use query analyzer, what is the code that I have to put ? is it compute sum(qty x price) by itemcode or there is stil another ? i appreciate your answer. TIA

Here's one approach to solve your problem:

...the main query refers to the subquery as it was another table. The subquery calculates quantity per warehouse from the oitw table.
Of course you could create a view in SQL Server instead of a subquery. That would make the query inside B1 query generator more simple and would also make it faster to execute.

How to pass the Bound values to VO SQL Query during runtime?

Hi all,
I have the following sql query;
SELECT NOTIFICATION_ID
FROM xx_NOTIFICATION_V
WHERE COMPANY = NVL(:1, COMPANY)
AND INITIATOR = NVL(:2,INITIATOR)
AND PAYGROUP = NVL(:3, PAYGROUP)
AND SOURCE = NVL(:4, SOURCE)
AND SUPPLIER_NAME = NVL(:5,SUPPLIER_NAME)
AND TRX_DATE BETWEEN NVL(:6,TRX_DATE)
AND NVL(:7,TRX_DATE)
If i click GO button on search page then it pass the selected Poplists values as a Bound values to VO Sql query at runtime after this I store the search results in a Table(Which is created by using New Region Wizard).
I want to pass the Bind parameter values to VO SQL query during runtime and :1,:2,:3,:4,:5,:6,:7 values are coming from Poplists.
I search through forum I found many threads regarding Bind Values but those all are passing ID's only not String(Varchar) values.
How to pass the Character values to VO Query.
Please anyone help me on this.

Difference between NetWeaver 2004 and NetWeaver 7.0 or 7.1

I am little confused and curious to know the recent changes happening in SAP.
Can you please tell me the differences between NetWeaver 2004 and NetWeaver 7.0 or 7.1
NetWeaver 2004 is named because SAP has released it in 2004
and then we have XI 3.0, XI.7.0(that is PI right) , EP6.0 etc as individual components have different versions released in NewtWeaver suite.
But what is this NetWeaver 7.0.
We have EE5 or ECC6 and WebAs 6.4 or GUI 6.4 or recently GUI 7.o or WebAs 7.0.
How does all these differe, is individual component of NetWeaver upgraded with higher versions or total NetWever is upgraded with a higher version.
Can any one please tell me the exact difference between versions.
If some one has ECC6 installed in their environment does it mean that they have Netwaver components like XI, EP, MDM.. etc are installed or its only R/3, BI etc...

When multiple tables are involved , and the actual number of rows returned is more than what the explain plan tells. How can I find out what change is needed in the stat plan ?
2. Does rowsource statistics gives some kind of understanding of Extended stats ?

You can get Row Source Statistics only *after* the SQL has been executed. An Explain Plan midway cannot give you row source statistics.
To get row source statistics either set STATISTICS_LEVEL='ALL' in the session that executes theSQL OR use the Hint "gather_plan_statistics" in the SQL being executed.
Then use dbms_xplan.display_cursor

How to know statistics of an sql query on workload

Dear all,
I am using Oracle 9i. The query is
insert into B (X, Y, Z)
Select f1, f1, Z from A A1,
(Select fun1(X) f1 from A group by X, Y) A2
where A1.X = A2.X
I am executing such type of query for 20,000 records it is taking 1 minute.
On the other hand, if the same query executing for 2.7 million records.
It goes for endless process.
How can i see the statistics while executing the query on workload.
How can i know the reason of such happenings.

First retrieve your own session with:

I have two quwstions of SAP upgrade.
My requirement is: SAP upgrade from 4.6B to ECC 6.0 with non-unicode.
1.Does SAP upgrade influence the report painter? If influence, could you tell me what should I do for this case.
2. We have so many queries (SQ01) in our system and many of them haven't been run for a long time. we need a tool to get the runtimes of queries in a certain durition.
For example: From 2008/01/01 to 2008/03/31,I want to know how many queries had been run/ query name/ runtimes of each query.

Such a tool was RBE (Reverse Business Engineer) - which is out of support.
You can try to get that information from ST03. If that is not enough there's no other way than booking an SLO service to find out the queries that have not been used (http://service.sap.com/slo).

It is talking abou the Special Features of InfoCubes in InfoSets.
For queries based on an InfoSet with an InfoCube, the system decides at runtime whether aggregates can be used for the InfoCube. This is the case if all the required InfoObjects of the InfoCube exist in an aggregate. The following InfoObjects are required:
The key figures of the InfoCube selected in the query
The characteristics of the InfoCube selected in the query
The characteristics required for a join with other InfoProviders in the InfoSet.
Furthermore, as a prerequisite for using aggregates, all the data required by an InfoCube must be readable using logical access. For an InfoCube within an InfoSet with InfoCubes, it is no longer possible to read part of the data from one aggregate and part of the data from another aggregate or the InfoCube itself.

You can pass the parameter same as you pass the other parameters. Define a variable that will hold the Query and then pass that parameter from form to report.

Avg. Total Runtime of the BW Queries.

Hi,
In the EWA report we have the following entry : Avg. Total Runtime of the BW Queries.
What is included in this average reponse time ?
If users executes queries in dialog and backgroung modes, is the backgroung runtime inluded in the 'Avg. Total Runtime of the BW Queries/ ?
Or it contains only the dialog response time ?
