Status bar on my iPhone 5S duplicates & overlaps

Hey! My status bar on my iPhone 5S duplicates itself and then fades back into itself after I close out of an app or just exit an app. I just had my phone replaced today due to other issues, but that was one of the previous problems on my other 5S. I got home and set everything up from a back up and then the problem started again. I've tried to do some research, but I can't find anyone else with this problem. The status bar doesn't over lap into any apps or anything like that. It simply separates it self (after closing out of an app) in to two status bars and then clicks right back into itself. It's quite annoying.
Any help?
Thanks & Cheers.

RESET DEVICE
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).

  • Is there a way to put the date next to the time on top in the status bar on my Iphone 5?

I have a macbook pro and I have my date and time presented on the status bar.  I just got an Iphone 5 and I can't seem to find anywhere how to put the date on top in the status bar.  Does Iphone 5 accomodate this basic need?

It's not possible to put the date at the top of the screen. Sorry.

  • HT1695 what does hsdpa indicates on the status bar on my IPhone 4s?

what does hsdpa indicates on the status bar on my IPhone 4s?

It's a type of cellular network that is supported by the iPhone.
High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) is an enhanced 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol in the High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) family, also dubbed 3.5G, 3G+ or turbo 3G, which allows networks based on Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to have higher data transfer speeds and capacity. Current HSDPA deployments support down-link speeds of up to 42 Mbit/s. Further speed increases are available with HSPA+, which provides speeds of up to 337 Mbit/s with Release 11 of the 3GPP standards.[1]

  • Where is status bar when running iphone app

I've updated my iPad Mini to iOS 7 and now when I run iPhone apps I don't see the status bar (time and battery level etc).  It used to show in iOS 6.
I see the status bar fine when running iPad apps, just not iPhone apps.
    Any ideas?

I don't know which app your using but you can try deleting it and reinstalling it from the cloud. If it's in iPhone mode, you should see the 2x but when you switch it to 2x yes the option seems to disappear to go back to 1x when you are using IOS 7.
I lost the 1x on one of my apps but when I removed and reinstalled, it was there again. The time was showing at the top when I reinstalled it again from the cloud.

  • Enable status bar ONLY on iPhone 5 where there is extra space?

My app really needs as much screens space as it can get, execpt on iPhone 5 where there is a surplus of dead space. I need the status bar hidden on previous iPhones. Is there a way to make the status bar show on the iPhone 5 but not on others, so that iPhone 5ers can see the time, battery and other stuff?

Update: I finally figured it out myself. I took a shot in the dark and tried the stage.displayState property. It looked like a desktop specific thing but it actually worked on the iPhone.
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL
    will show the status bar.
    stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN_INTERACTIVE
    will hide the status bar.

  • Status bar disappears in iPhone apps running on iPad

I would like to confirm whether this is considered a bug or not.
Pick an iPhone app (for example, Foursquare) and open it using an iPad. You will notice that the status bar (the area that takes the whole app view width and that is 20pt high). Send it to background, then open the task switcher (sorry, I don't know its exact name). You will see that the preview image for that app has the status bar visible, however when you tap on it and the app is resumed you will also notice how it suddenly disappears.
Please confirm whether this is happening to you. This annoys me a lot since I'm currently developing an iPhone app and I only have an iPad to test it, so what I am seeing is no longer exactly the same that is usually seen in an iPhone (well, a 3.5 inch iPhone). I'm using iOS 7.0.4

Hi, I'd like to tell you a good news. This issue had been resolved by using a single line configuration in Info.plist file. After testing it does work fine for me.
    Try it:
              <key>UIViewControllerBasedStatusBarAppearance</key>
              <false/>

What does the arrowhead in the status bar on my iPhone 4 pointing to 1 o'clock stand for? Cannot find the meaning of this icon anywhere.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.
Here's an example of what I mean:

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.
    Good luck!

  • IPhone 6: Where's the status bar in landscape mode?

I just got the iPhone 6 (I believe iOS 8.1) and my only problem is that it removes the status bar in when in landscape mode. I find it extremely annoying that I can no longer see the time, monitor my battery life, check whether if I'm even receiving a signal, etc. when I'm using apps such as Safari or Notes in landscape mode. Is there any way to get the status bar back like in previous software versions? So far, I hate having to switch to portrait mode, using the pull down menu, or pressing the home button just to see it...

Same here - I returned my original, same problem on the second one, and same problem on my son's phone. I called Apple tech months ago, got to a senior supervisor who assured me he'd get back to me, but never did.

When I try to sync my iphone with itunes, it tells me a warning that I don't have enough memory and yet the status bar at the bottom says that I do and I know that I have enough memory. What's the problem? It happens with the ipods and ipad as well!!!

The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version.  You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes.  Or you can adapt to the new look.

  • Double iPhone status bar pushes app down 20 pixels (40 in Retina)

    Hi All,
On a non-retina iPhone the status bar is normally 20 pixels high, but when I enable my phone as a wireless hotspot its height doubles to 40 pixels so that it can display text saying "personal hotspot".
When it does this my AIR app gets pushed down and the bottom 20 rows of pixels are cut off, i.e. aren't displayed.
    This, simply stated, looks terrible.
    Is this a known bug?
Is there some way I can avoid this?
    Douglas

I've created a bug report for this issue - if you're concerned about this problem please vote for it:

  • Status bar covering iPhone 6 view IOS 8

have you experience the status bar covering the view specially in Facebook apps when opening a link then closing it. the status bar is blocking the X of the page,

You can disconnect and re-connect and try again.  You should be selecting the Update button for the new Software.  The update while connected to iTunes should not take all that long from the download, through the Verification and then the Install.  If that down't work, you may have to Restore your iPhone to Factory Settings, insuring first you do have a current Backup available to Restore from Backup at a later time after the Restore as New.
Sometimes you can Update your iOS software in a WiFi environment even faster,  if you have enough memory available for the process to work.

  • IPhone always showing 'E' on status bar...

I've got iPhone 2G and it always shows that it is connected to Edge and shows 'E' on the status bar. Due to this it gets very hot and battery gets empty faster...
Is there anyway to disable Edge or close it temporarily..?

If you are connecting to the internet via the edge network then yes, you are getting charged ( or it is counting against your allotment).
Checking/fetching e-mail, visual voicemail, apps, location services, can all use the internet.
The iphone is designed to have access to the internet available at all times.
You can turn off the data option if you like.

  • Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect; status bar looks good. But audio always comes out the speaker. Thx.

Should my iPhone 1 (iOS 3.1.3) with Bluetooth 2.0 (Handset HSP?) work with wireless earbuds with BT 4.0 and the Headset (and Handsfree, A2DP, AVRCP) protocol? They pair and connect as expected (with a PIN); status bar looks good and shows Bluetooth active, and I even see the iPhone displays the battery levels of the wireless earbuds. But audio always comes out the speaker. (If I plug in wired headphones into the headphone jack then audio comes into the wired headphones, as expected.) I have rebooted the iPhone; I have had it forget about the wireless earbuds, and repaired and reconnected; I have reset all network settings. Thx in advance.
PS: I understand that more recent versions of iOS have a way to choose where audio output goes (speaker, headphone jack, Bluetooth device). Does this older version of iOS? I could not find an option or setting.

I've noticed this lately as well, with my iPhone 4. I couldn't confidently pin it directly on any particular iOS update, but my iPhone used to automatically connect up via Bluetooth with my Prius's handsfree feature, and now it doesn't. I work with a CE-based device at my job, with Bluetooth capability, and I used to test out that feature by having it discover my iPhone. This no longer works either.
What I have found (not really a solution, but it does work and may be a clue for Apple) is that if I simply go to the Settings app then the General -> Bluetooth screen and let it sit there, it will pair right up with my car within a few seconds. Bluetooth is always on, and always says "Now Discoverable" at the bottom of the settings screen.
