Steps for workflow

Hi all
I would like to create a workflow. THis is inititated when a particular object's is create event is triggered. Can someone brief me the steps needed for this, with the transaction codes . ( should i create a container here )

Dynamic Dialog in a Dialog Participant Step for Workflow

Hello All,
I am trying to create a Dynamic Dialog in the dialog participant step for a workflow.
so when a user has the Dialog participant step opened up, if they select from a drop down, it will make another textfield hide/show.
In a component dialog I can do something like
var comment = this.find('name', './jrc:content/customComment')[0] to find the field to be shown/hidden.
however when I run this inside a Dialog Participant step, the result is undefined.
Any Sugguestion on how to approach this ?
I am using a listener on the dropdown widget/attribute

Hello,
The find() method will not help you because it searches the property based on configured value which you can not pass in your scenario. If you dont have any constraint with your hide/show field then best way it to configured it with a property "id" (String) and give it some unique value which has not been used by any component in this dialog and then use below method to find out the component.
this.getComponent(id)
when you pass the "id" value the method will return that component and then you can show/hide it.
I have used this approach many times which is easy and fast to find out the component in any container.

N-step approval workflow for Shopping Cart-WS14000133

Hi Experts,
We have 5-6 levels of approvals for Shoppoing carts.All the SC needs to be approved by 5-6 managers based on their approval limits.All the approval limits are assigned at the Role level .(We have created Z roles)
Please let me know how and where to define the roles in BADI to activate the N-step approval workflow for Shopping Cart-WS14000133

Standard n-step approval workflow for Purchase Order in sap 4.7?

Hi AM,
there is no std template for n-step approvals but for Single Release.
What you could do is create a custom one as per the number of approvals for PO.
Also note a PO Release Strategy can handle only 8 levels of approval.

I am very new to workflow and I need to develop a workflow for the following scenario.
1) User changes Delivery date in PO for single or multiple items then send an Email to a user upon save.
2) I also want to delay email notification till end of the day.

I think if you are changing the Delivery date you can track this as the Change Event of BO BUS2012 gets triggered. You can track what type of change by coding in a virtual attribute of your Custom BO which is delegated to standard BO. In the attribute you should code that filter the changes are relevant(Delivery date change) for workflow or not. If the changes are relevant the Flag will be set. In the start condition(SWB_COND) of Wflow you should make use of this Flag for triggering.
Regarding sending mail at end of day this can be done using Requested start Tab of step in Workflow Builder.

Need workflow config step by step for PM Notification change status

as per our requirement we need to trigger workflow when PM Notification Status will be change (Event will trigger for approval when sombody manually change the workflow status)
Kindly guide me step by step for configuration of that

try to do like this
1. Find a Enhancement spot for the Txn IW22 and check whether that enhancement is getting executed while trying to change the PM notification.
2.once you are sure that the user exit is getting executed then by using the FM SAP_WAPI_START_WORKFLOW trigger the workflow by passing the workflow template to the FM...
3. But before doing the second point develop the workflow template and make sure you have create a Z bor to implement your own logic.. or find a standard BOR which has the event CHANGED and if at all you have any standard BOR then use that BOR's event , I mean rasie the event CHNAGE from the user exit you found by using the FM SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT

Edit option not enabled for workflow content from within Content Presenter in Webcenter Spaces

I have a webcenter spaces portal page with a content presenter displaying a html page using the default out of the box template. The html page is located in webcenter content / UCM under a folder on which the " All Reviewer" seeded workflow is enabled. The issue i am seeing is when the file is in workflow the edit option is not being enabled even though the reviewer should be able to edit/approve the content in this step. The other functions like workflow approve or reject and switching between workflow version and published version are all enabled. Also when rejected the content does not show edit option from the content presenter (cntrl-C option) for the original author to make any updates.
What would need to be done to enable editing from within the content presenter for workflow content?

We are using WCP 11.1.1.8.5
To recreate the issue
1) Login to WCC Portal: Spaces as admin user , create a New Page under a webcenter spaces portal
2) Under the space , Pages Section , select the page and click edit
3) In Design mode , choose Content Management and Add Document Explorer and Add Content Presenter on the page
4) The Document Explorer will default to the Current Space/portal directory under MyWebcenterSpaces in UCM
5) Create a directory "content" under the Portal space using the document explorer.
6) Right Click on Content folder and choose details. In Details view , go to File->workflow settings and pick a seeded workflow -> MyWCSAllReviewer. Add a user as workflow approver
7) After workflow is enabled on this folder upload a basic html page with simple text into this folder
8) Now in the design mode choose edit in the content presenter and select the "single content view" with default template to display an Image or HTML. Click browse and select the html that was added to workflow
9) Save the Page and view the portal. Workflow should now be enabled for any content changes to that html page.
10) Click Cntrl-shift-c in portal/space as an authenticated user with edit access to content and make an edit to content , this will trigger worklow . The author currently will see edit option get disabled once content enters workflow
11) Login as approver to the portal and cntrl-shift-C to the portal and workflow options(approve and reject) are enabled but the edit option is not. If you reject content , the author should be able to edit content in the content presenter mode, this also is not available. The issue is the content is now no longer available for editing from wthin content presenter if it is in workflow to either the approver or the original author depending on workflow step. If you check the same content under the document explorer the option to edit is enabled. Is this a bug /issue with content Presenter or some option needs enabled?

How to use the Validate step for Approve step

Hi Experts,
I have modeled a workflow with the steps start,process, validate, approve, process and stop.
Process is set to owner and approve is set to some other user user1.
My requirement is as follows :
1) Approve the records by approver and then it should send it to the next step for further processing
1.1) if the approver did not approve the record it should send a error message until the record is approved. So it should not send it to the next step when record is not approved
I am using a field called item status for approving and disapproving the records. My validation is based on this field only... Validation working fine when i tested it manually.
But my issue is when am using this validate step in workflow design validation is getting triggered for all the users.as per my requirement only approver should get the error message.But in my scenario owner is getting the error message and approver is not getting any message.
How can i use the validate step only for particular step say approve in workflow.
Can anyone please help me out how should use validate step only for approve step...

Hi ,
I have set the validation property to "None".
My design is as follows :
start->process->validate->approve->stop.
Owner is assigned to process step and approver is assigned to approve step.
Now my problem is owner is also getting this error message along with the approver. AS per the design both process, approve users are getting the error message.
As per my requirement only approver should get this prompt but not the owner.
How can i restrict only for specifc user to get this message.
Can anybody please advice how can restrict the owner to not get this error message...

The creation of the SC stays the same. Only the event linkage and the start conditions determine which workflow will be started.

Basic questions in SRM for Workflows+need material

I have developed Workflows in SAP R3.I am very new to SRM. I have following questions -
1. What is the use of BADI when we implement Workflow? My understanding till now is to provide all approvers to the
   Shooping Cart.That means for workflows without approval we dont need to BADI to implement.
2. Is there any other concepts more i have to know? Like in R3 Event will be triggered with help of change doc, status mang., LIS exceptions and all through SWEC tx. is it same in R3?
   Sorry to ask very basic questions.
   Can anyone provide me step to step guide to configure SRM workflows and Cookbook for SRM?

1.All the n step workflows(where approvers are determined dynamically) in SRM can be implemented only using the BADI "BBP_WFL_APPROV_BADI".the main purpose of this BADI is to fetch the Approvers/agents for the workflow.In addition to the n step WF,you also have no approval, 1 step and 2 step approval workflow in which the agent assignment can be done directly(no BADI reqd) and this is applicable for all types of business objects i.e. Shopping cart,Bid etc.For more details refer the foll link;

2.Work flow concepts are same as in R/3.So techincally you can create your custom workflows in the same way.

Issue in completing the block step for parallel processing

Hi,
i have created a workflow where in i have used a block step to send workitems to multiple agents. I have used parallel processing in block step. Number of agents are determined in the runtime. Lets say i have two items in my multiple line container( two agent id). Now inside block statement i have put user decesion step. So at the same time workitems goes to the two approver for approval. When both approver take the decesion after that also command is not coming out of the block step. I want the command to be out of block step after this and goes to the next step of workflow.
Please suggest any helpful solution for it.

I think theremust be a binding problem , the binding must be some thing like the below
&USERID[&_WF_PARFOREACH_INDEX&]& ----->&_USERID_LINE&
of the block step from WF container to Block Conatiner. Because when I checked in my system it is behaving as you want., I also include one Decision step inside the block, and then hard coded the userid values int the table USERID and made the above binding and it ia working fine and in the Decision Agent I mentiond the EXPRESSION and assigned the value &_USERID_LINE&
