If your current ECC 6.0 is also on DB2/400, you can use DBCO - outlined in the following blog.

If the retail business can be moved to SAP solution, plain SAP RFC just works fine. If not, you can install a SAP gateway instance on DB2.
There are many options. It could be hard to identify the best choice without a detailed review/analysis.

This is not possible.
My suggestion is that you create shell scripts on the unix side that copy the data to the other database.
ARD runs it's own private copy of PostGgreSQL inside the package so it won't interfer with any other SQL databases on the network or even on the machine.

Connecting SAP with Excel (Beginner)

I'm new to the SAP scripting. On my company we use lots and lots of Excel spreadsheet lists with sales orders and projects, which is why i need to learn to connect those lists with SAP.
I have a list of sales orders in Excel starting downwards from cell A2 and I want to get the exchange rate on each of the orders from the header of VA03, so that the script copies the currency rate of each sales order next to the order number in the spreadsheet.
How do i do this? :s

if you have allready worked with Scripting (Recording) you allready have the way to connect excel with SAP
To Connect an existing Instance of SAP with Excel you will need this code:

The current NCo version is limited to usage with .NET 1.1 and within VS2003.

You could also consider simply updating to a more recent version of Tiger, as support for additional external burners has been added in the later revisions.

Unfortunately, an iSync update from Apple will be required to sync this phone.
It uses Symbian OS v9.1 and UIQ v3.0, whereas previous Symbian Sony Ericsson phones such as the recent P910 use Symbian OS v7.0 and UIQ v2.1. Apple will have to implement a different syncing protocol in iSync as this phone doesn't use SyncML via Bluetooth.
I was very surprised that the recent iSync 2.3 update didn't help...
Maybe iSync 2.4 with Mac OS 10.4.8 will offer something - whenever that may be.

Connection timeout with DB2 source

Hi all,
looking for any similar experience... I've a scenario, started with StartScen.sh command, that imports data from a DB2 mainframe database and do some transformation.
Sometimes, when data to import is huge, even if all ELT transformations goes ok the whole scenario fails. Debugging it I've seen that failure is due to a timeout got from DB2 connection. I've found that ODI works in this way:
1. Opens connection to DB2
2. Loads needed datas
3. Peforms transformations
4. Closes connection
Since step 3 takes long time DB2 connection time out and of course when you close the connection you get an error about socket already closed from remote side. TCPDump has showed that no keepalive packets are sent from client to server.
I've opened an SR to Oracle and they told me that there's no way to force closing connection before perform transformation. Also Oracle relays problem to a possibile missing keepalive function in DB2 JDBC driver. Oracle suggests to change the scenario adding a step to load data from DB2 to a local table and then another step to perform transformation starting from this local table. This is not applicable as many scenarios have to be change in a production environment.
Does anyone has already dealt with a similar problem?

Hi,
TIMEOUT parameter "Oracle Data Integrator Timeout" has been increases but this is not working. This parameter is for the connection with ODI repository database and not for the application database. Is there any separated arameter/setting to control the conncection timeout against warehouse database where data gets loaded.

Connecting Nw2004s with DB2 Database on AS400

I have a BW Server with the following configuration
OS: AIX 5L
SAP System: NW2004s(BW 7.0)
Database: Oracle 10 G R2
I am trying to make a soruce sytem connection to the folowing datbase Server
Database: DB2 UDB
OS: AS400
But as per note 523381, we have to go for a SAP Application Server. but even then the libdbsl file is not exisiting for AS400 machine.
Please guide us of what we can do.
Have any one faced this situation before

Even when we go for a Windows Application Server, we could not find the DBSL file for DB2 UDB in AS400.
We are referring to the DBSL File located in

The info page of the DBSL file is telling that it supports only Operating System of Linux 2.6
Please tell us where we can download the DBSL file DB2 UDB(DB4) Database in AS400 Machines.

How can I use the Connection Pool with DB2

I am facing the problem with the usage for the Connection Pool.
I want to use DB2 via JNDI lookup.
But when starting the Weblogic server, Error occured with the following message.

DB2 and Weblogic are on the same machine.
In case of the use of remote DB2 database, I also encountered the same error.

Perhaps It's my fault for Weblogic console's setting.
After I reset the target server in console, Error message disappeared.
But, when I call the TestCode, I encountered another error message. The error
is NameNotFoundException.
When lookingup the JNDI name, NameNotFoundException errer occured. I tried to
change my setting and JNDI name, but the results are the same.

Configuring JCo3 Connection Pool with single sign on on non SAP Java server

Hi Everyone,
i have configured a connection pool on JBoss as per JCo3 Documentation and is working great.
Now I need help to configure this connection pool with single sign on so that RFc on SAP ECC systems are executed using end users credential rather than using single user name password used to configure JCo connection pool.
On SAP Java stack I am sure its possible within Java WebDynpro and i assume using JCA resource adapter. But what if we don't want to use SAP Java App server.
Any help will be appreciated.

after window log in as administration appear window with RFC connection
when I try to test authorization it show error. logon is failed. but this user in BW created and Password is correct

We would like to connect SAP with Kenexa BrassRing. Since we do not use SAP PI, we will need to directly connect with Kenexa BrassRing.
What are our options to connect and transfer data between the two system. I have been reading about using XML but are there other options to look at. What would you suggest that would be easy to implement and maintain.
