Sticky Region at bottom of browser window

Hi there!
I'm new to Application Express ;-/...
Can anyone tell me, if there is a possibility to have a form like this:
=========================
Header
Region showing a Tabular Form on table X (showing the existing contents only)
Region (sticky at bottom position of browser window) showing a form to enter a new row in table X
=========================
Thanx a lot!
Johann

Horvatj,
Yes, that is possible. If you click 'create page' then choose 'Page with Components' it should give you all the possible options like the one you described.

  • Dynamic position of an image at the right bottom of the browser window

    Dear Dreamweaver-community,
    I'm trying to have an image positioned at the bottom right of a html-page. It is embedded in a table so that it doesn't interfere with the rest of the site's content (which it would if I simply used an absolute position). The height of the table is height=100% and I thought that this would make sure that if the browser window is being dragged smaller or bigger the image stays at the bottom right (just as the content stays centered if you set the width of a table to 100% and center it). But if you make the browser window higher the image won't keep sticking to the right bottom but will stay in one place while the rest of the page (bottom) is simply filled with the black background color. Do you have any ideas what I'm missing out on? Is there something like a valign-tag for a table or the page's body that dynamically keeps the image at the bottom right position no matter how you change the size of the window? I hope you can help me. Thank you!
    Missy

  • Missing bar @ the bottom of the browser window

    in previous versions of FF (up to 3.x?) there was a bar at the bottom of the browser window which showed:
    - a lock when on an encrypted page
    - a field when the download pop-up was closed while there were still downloads going on and showing how much time was left for the download(s) to finish
    are those icons / functionalities still available available ?
    if not, would it be possible to put them back?

    The Statusbar is gone and the "lock" with it, as of Firefox 4.0. Security information about a web page is shown by the Site Identity Button.<br />
    The old padlock could give users a false sense that a site is secure by not supplying all of the information about a site and only showed that there is a secure connection that didn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. The Site Identity Button was introduced in Firefox 3.0 to show more complete "identity" information for HTTPS web pages. <br />
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Site+Identity+Button
    You can add a padlock to the location bar with the Padlock add-on- https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/padlock-icon

  • Error console eating bottom half of my browser window & can't turn it off :(

    I can't see—this error started with firefox for mac v33 but I could drag the error console down to the size of a small status bar at the bottom of the browser window—now when I drag it down, it drags the rest of the window with it so all I can see is a narrow landscape of whatever page I'm browsing at the bottome of the window, & the top of the browser is all white upto the toolbars :S —what's going on? I didn't change any settings over the last several updates, but maybe it's an old setting that didn't jibe with new code?

    Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause
    Firefox issues. '''Disable All of them.'''

  • Footer seems to be "sticking" to bottom edge of browser window and not bottom of website

    Hi, all
    I am designing a site in Muse CC (2014) and have my footer on the master template located in the designated footer area. But for some reason the footer is anchoring or sticking along very bottom edge of the browser window instead of at the bottom of the live website area. Below is a link to the website:
    Home
    You may need to adjust your window and drag down to see whats actually happening, since on first appearance it seems to sit correctly at bottom edge of website.
    Thanks for your assistance!!
    Howard

    No, its still not correct. It looks like it upon first appearance but if you reduce the view so you can get space below the website, the footer stays fixed to bottom edge of browser window. Seems to happen in most browsers not just Safari. You need to stretch the browser window down and footer moves with it. Thanks.

  • How do I make a image stay at a certain point on a browser window?

    So, I'm having this problem where the image I want to stay at a certain location based on my browser windows size (Not to be confused with "Persistent" images that float over all other content) The image in question is my lo
    When I view the browser in a regular window size, it looks fine, I then maximize the browser window (The screen I am on is a 23" with a 1920x1080 resolution") and the image stays put versus adjusting it's location based on the new window size... It looks crazy odd on a full screened wide-screen monitor, especially with the logo now appears to be in the center of my navigation bar and no longer properly aligned with my content. A good example of the navigation I am using and of the effect I am trying to achieve is on this website. http://www.bungie.net
    Notice how the logo, navigation icon and the search/sign in stay in the same location to the user based on the size of the browser window, How do I achieve this?
    EDIT: Ah, I almost forgot, when I preview my site, the background image/footer stop about midway of the browser height in full screen, and it leaves a ugly blank space at the bottom of my page, how does one go about fixing this as well? The background is set to fill the browser window yet it doesn't???

    Try pinning the object to the browser window - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-pin-objects-to-the-browser-window/.
    Regarding your second issue, make sure you have your footer items marked as Footer and that you have Sticky Footer enabled in Page Properties - http://tv.adobe.com/watch/muse-feature-tour/muse-define-headers-and-footers/.
    Thanks,

  • Tooltip position relative to browser window

    Hi -
    I have a repeating region of left-floated divs that works
    like a horizontal looper for my data set - items repeat
    left-to-right, then start a new row. I have a tooltip on the div to
    pop up a large-scale image of the underlying repeating data.
    The problem is that on the rightmost column, the tooltip
    image runs off the right edge of the browser window (causing the
    horizontal scrollbar to appear). The bottom row does the same with
    the bottom edge of the window - you have to scroll town to see the
    entire tooltip, rather than the tooltip adjusting for the bottom of
    the window. Does the tooltip widget have a setting that will change
    its position relative to the mouse if you are up against the edges
    of the browser window?
    Thanks,
    Rod

    I have this same question. Can the tooltip flip horizontally
    when it touches the browser edge?

  • Getting whitespace between bottom of page and bottom of browser.

    Happens for a relatively short page (site properties of 1280x800) when browser is resized large (resolution, full screen).   The testcode is at http://susandeskotestsite.businesscatalyst.com/news.html
    I have (think I have) put the bottom of browser slider at the same position as the bottom of page slider on all the master pages, that doesn' seem to get it.
    Would be fine to just have it paint the same color down to bottom of browser.
    Thanks

    hey, that was it!    i had defined different colors as browser fill and that was what was having the dark grey from bottom of page to bottom of browser.   your previous fix on sticky footers fixed the problem where i was seeing white below the bottom of the page but only for the width defined in site properties.  thanks, wish i could do more than just mark it correct.
    as a follow on, the site properties are page width of 1280 and min height of 800.   generally looks good, but when you maximize a browser window at 2560 x 1600 you get a lot of browser fill and the 1280 x 800 'page'.   i've seen other websites that will stretch the 'page' to be much larger on higher resolution displays.   can this be done in muse?   would the approach be to define larger page sizes to begin with and then it will be "shrink down" to fit lower browser size/resolutions?

  • How do i get my navbar to stay on one line when the browser window is minimized?

    I am new to coding and have just created my first website in html and css.  I know that the coding is pretty dire and that I have a lot to learn and hope that someone can guide me in how to solve this problem.  When the browser window is minimized, the navbar breaks down into 2 or 3 lines but I want the navbar to fit to the window whatever the size of the client machine.
    I think I need to add a media query but i'm not sure if i do and if so what code to use and where to put it?
    I am worried that the page will only be viewable properly on a desktop and i really want to learn how to make a fluid layout which can be viewed on 320px, 768px and 1200px.
    Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

  • How can I close a remote front panel by closing only the browser window?

    I control a remote front panel in a browser (from the client PC). If I don't use the 'close' - button in my program to end the remote front panel, but instead of this the 'x' of the browser window (in the right bottom corner), my program won't be close, it continues on the server. Do you know how to end a VI by closing only the browser windows?
    Thanks for any help!
    wolfe

    I found the examples. Thanks.
    But I could not find a solution yet. Now I know how to end a VI by clicking on the x of the VIwindow.
    My problem is, to end a VI by clicking on the x of the BROWSER window after I loaded and controlled a remote panel VI in a browser (e.g. IE).
    If you have any ideas ... I'd be happy.
    Thanks for your help.

  • New browser window with javascript

    Hello,
    I'm trying to accomplish something similar to what has been
    discussed in other threads (Jess Learnin, 9/30/2008, and another
    thread from back in '07). I've tried the advice given in these
    threads and have had no luck. I would like to create a button to
    call a new browser window that displays a URL of my choosing. I'd
    like to specify the size and attributes of the new window. I've
    created a small dummy tutorial in order to work on this feature.
    I'm using the "Execute Javascript" option when configuring
    the button. I include the following javascript:
    window.open('
    http://lib.berkeley.edu/BIOS/index.html',
    'myWindow','height=400, width=700, toolbar=no');
    I have the Captivate button context set to "Current". I have
    deselected "Continue Playing Project" (though I've tried it with
    that option selected as well).
    I've tried prefacing the script w/
    "javascript:window.open...", but no luck.
    I'm testing the file on a development server, rather than
    from a local copy. When I test in Firefox, my movie simply stops
    when I click the button, without opening a new window or loading a
    web page. When I test in IE7, the movie stops and I get a message,
    "Error on page"; still no new window.
    I do notice that I'm currently running Flash Player 10. I'm
    using Captivate 3. When I publish my file, my options only go up to
    Flash Player 9, which is what I have chosen. I don't know if this
    would make a difference.
    I have also tried altering the standard.js file in the manner
    that jbradley88 suggested in the 9/30/08 thread, and using the
    corresponding javascript in the button properties window, with
    similar unsuccessful results.
    I have tried running the movie on a different computer, in
    case some local setting was somehow mucking things up. I get
    nothing.
    Any suggestions? If anyone's willing to take a look, I can
    send along my small dummy .cp file that I've been working on.
    Thanks in advance.
    -Kelly

    Hi John,
    Here's the exact javascript that I currently have associated
    with the button:
    void(window.open('
    http://lib.berkeley.edu/BIOS/index.html',
    'myWindow','height=400, width=700, toolbar=no'));
    I've tried multiple permutations, including placing
    "javascript:" in front of the script, both with and without the
    void().
    The message in IE7 just says "Error on page". It's not a
    pop-up message; it's just the small message that appears at the
    bottom left of the browser window in IE7 when a page fails to load
    properly. The message doesn't appear until I click on the button
    that's supposed to call the javascript. There's a yellow
    exclamation point icon that appears next to the "Error on page"
    message. When I click on that I get:
    "Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being
    displayed properly or functioning properly. In the future, you can
    display this message by double-clicking the warning icon displayed
    in the status bar."
    It also displays a pointer to the error:
    Line: 1
    Char: 111
    Error: Syntax error
    Code: 0
    URL:
    http://library11.berkeley.edu/bios/kelly/Practice_demo.htm
    I looked at the source for the page as displayed by IE7 (have
    also looked at the .htm and .js files generated by Captivate) and
    haven't seen anything obvious, but I'm somewhat unschooled in such
    matters.
    If it would help to see what it does, you can view the demo
    at the URL above.
    Thx again,

  • Open New Browser Window Behavior Issue

    I've got a site that has a list of names of deceased people.
    When a viewer clicks on a name I have a new browser window open
    that is a small memorial page specific for that person. This list
    is fairly long so the viewer has to scroll down a ways to get to
    the bottom. If the viewer clicks a name towards the bottom and then
    closes that new browser window they have to scroll all the way back
    down and find where they left off. This of course, is assuming they
    are going in order to view the memorial pages for each person. Is
    there a way to make the "original page (with the list of names)"
    not refresh to the top of the page? I'm using and would like to
    continue using tables and not layers or styles.
    Information can be sent onto [email protected]
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Cody

    Cody,
    It sounds like you are using <a href="#"
    Try using <a href="javascript:;"
    Or better yet, use David Powers' Smart Link:

  • Portlet Item Attr: "Link That Displays Item in New Browser Window"

    I have been searching the forums for a similar experience, but haven't found anything quite like this:
    I have a couple of portlets. One is a Discoverer Portlet, the other is something more basic: The "Developer News" portlet from the 9iAS Community portlet provider.
    After defining the portlets and looking at them, I edit the page and click the Edit button (little pencil) to edit the attributes.
    There are radio buttons for Display Options.
    One option is: "Link that Displays Item in New Browser Window."
    When I select this, OK, and then go back to the page, **the portlet doesn't show at all any more! There is no link, no nothing. Note that I have defined a Display Name, which should be the text for the link.
    It would seem that this feature flat out doesn't work.
    This technique for a popup works fine for an "Item" defined in an item region.
    Anyone?

    Yes -- I did do that after reading an article on metalink about such issues.
    This actually changes the problem.
    When I add the "Display name and image link" attribute to the region, I now do get a link.
    However, clicking it brings up an undefined Discoverer portlet.
    It works great for non-Disco portlets. For instance, I was able to pop up the "Developer News" portlet from the Oracle 9iAS Community portlet provider.
    I think the problem is that the link that Disco produces does not provide enough information to bring up the particular portlet. For instance, the URL does not have the workbook name, the worksheet name, the parameter values, etc.
    If anyone uses Disco w/ the portal, I would be curious to hear if anyone can reproduce this apparent bug / limitation.

  • Opening driving directions in new browser window

    I have installed the Web Assist Google Pro Maps extension and
    would like for the div containing the driving directions results:
    <div id="wagmp_directions_2"
    to appear in a new browser window.
    However, when I open the tag inspector, it says "locked
    region" for the Google maps divs, even though I detached the php
    page from the template. Any ideas?

    Sorry, mixed up my versions a bit. The following code doesn't open a new window.
    try {
                JSObject window;
                window = JSObject.getWindow(this);
                URL url = new URL(this.getCodeBase(), "mydomain/mypage.jsp");
                window.eval("window.open(" + url +")");
            catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
    }It doesn't do anything, instead I'm getting the following output in the trace:
    liveconnect: the url of the applet is http://localhost:29080 and the permission is = false
    liveconnect: JavaScript: UniversalBrowserRead enabled
    liveconnect: JavaScript: UniversalJavaPermission enabled
    liveconnect: JSObject::eval(window.open(http://localhost:29080/mydomain/mypage.jsp))
    liveconnect: the url of the applet is http://localhost:29080 and the permission is = falseI'm testing this code on Linux, FIrefox 1.5.0.3 and JDK1.5.0_07.
    What I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks.

    Anand, thank You very much!
    "In your page, is "View request result" a link ?
    If yes then
    click on "Personalize Page" link which is at the top right corner of the page. Select "Complete View" radio button and click on "Expand All" link. Search for item "link". If your page has more than one link then choose the link item which is related to "View request result". Click on "Personalize" pencil icon corresponding to "link" item/region. Change the "Target Frame" property value to "_blank" under "Site" level. Click on "Apply" button.
    -Anand"
    This is a great power in "Personalize Page"!
    I make solution in this steps:
    1. Activate personalization to user, by setting profile "Yes" value on user level:
    Personalize Self-Service Defn / FND_CUSTOM_OA_DEFINTION
    2. Personalize 2 regions items (Image & Link)
    ( Don't ask me how !!! ;)
    Image have not Target Property. I move URI to Link Region Item and remove in step 4 from Image Region Item.
    3. Export page and my region
    java oracle.jrad.tools.xml.exporter.XMLExporter /oracle/apps/fnd/cp/viewreq/webui/CPViewRequestPG -rootdir $APPL_TOP/personalizations -username apps -password *** -dbconnection "(description = (address_list = (address = (community = tcp.world)(protocol = tcp) (host = localhost)(port = 1521)))(connect_data = (sid = prod)))"
    java oracle.jrad.tools.xml.exporter.XMLExporter /oracle/apps/fnd/cp/viewreq/webui/customizations/site/0/CPViewRequestPG -rootdir $APPL_TOP/personalizations -username apps -password ***-dbconnection "(description = (address_list = (address = (community = tcp.world)(protocol = tcp) (host = localhost)(port = 1521)))(connect_data = (sid = prod)))"
    4. Modify in notepad /oracle/apps/fnd/cp/viewreq/webui/CPViewRequestPG.xml (remove URI from Image Region Item) from this file.
    5. Install script script for PROD like this:
    cp -R personalizations $APPL_TOP
    java oracle.jrad.tools.xml.importer.XMLImporter $APPL_TOP/personalizations/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/viewreq/webui/CPViewRequestPG.xml -username apps -password *** -dbconnection "(description = (address_list = (address = (community = tcp.world)(protocol = tcp) (host = localhost)(port = 1521)))(connect_data = (sid = prod)))" -rootdir $APPL_TOP/personalizations
    java oracle.jrad.tools.xml.importer.XMLImporter $APPL_TOP/personalizations/oracle/apps/fnd/cp/viewreq/webui/customizations/site/0/CPViewRequestPG.xml -username apps -password *** -dbconnection "(description = (address_list = (address = (community = tcp.world)(protocol = tcp) (host = localhost)(port = 1521)))(connect_data = (sid = prod)))" -rootdir $APPL_TOP/personalizations
    6. After install on PROD, You need to "bounce the apache". Additionally, it need to modify / upply button once on a region link. Right now I can not explain exactly, how it helps... But finnaly changes after 'XMLImporter' command will applyed after modify / upply manipulations.
