Still Image Scanning...Help Please!

I was wondering if someone could help me out. I am posting this thread in this area of the discussion, as it seems to be a little more of a technical photo question. I am making a slideshow for a wedding coming up via iMovie 2011. I will be scanning still pictures onto my macbook pro. I will NOT be printing off these photos. My concern is what "dpi" do I set my scanner to as I will be projecting this slideshow via mini display port via HDMI to the projector. The projector has a Native Resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080). I was told by someone that as far as projectors are concerned, scanning an image at 72 dpi is adequate enough, as this is all projectors are capable of. The specs on this projector are not given in terms of dpi and I am not too familiar with dpi terminology. However, with a dpi scanned image of 72 dpi, will this make the image look "bad" and pixelate it, or do I need to scan my images at 300 dpi? Could someone please assist me with my question? I would appreciate it very much!

Well DPI and picture size arent all that linked. DPI is a print system, not really a screen or projector measurement. Indeed its almost worthless to emasure projectors, as most allow you to use different screen sizes, but with a set reolution, so the DPI will vary on how big the projected image is.
Do you have photoshop?
Best results is likely to scan at the highest resolution (in this case DPI) then use photoshop or similar to scale the picture so it fits in a 1920 by 1080 frame.
Depending on the size of the photos in question, 300 DPI may be overkill, but it can't hurt unless your short on space. Avoid scanning as a jpeg to, something with less compression like a tiff if possible.

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message. -
I am trying to download Firefox 3.6 to use on my Mac OS X version 10.3.9. Three attempts and I continue to get "mounting failed" and "corrupt image". Help please?
Firefox 3.6 requires at least OS X 10.4, the last version of Firefox that worked on OS X 10.3.9 was Firefox 2.0.0.20 which is available from ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/mac/

Signing into the iTunes account has never made content magically appear... it still amazes me that people think this will actually work.
Type "move itunes library" into the search bar or your favorite search engine. You'll find multiple results for how to move the iTunes library. -
Today I updated, thru itunes, my iphone4, and restored backup, but am stuck in setup loop. After few screens of setup phone says "connect to itunes" or "connected to itunes". I turned off the phone and turned back on - still stuck. Help, please?

Since you are using one of the the school's Macbooks, it is quite possible that the time and date are not properly set on the computer that you are using. FaceTime will not work if you do not have the proper time zone set up for the location that you are in. This past week, there were a two other Macbook users I've helped by simply telling them to set the Date/Time properly. By the way, you described your problem very well, which makes it easier for us to help you. Hope this solves your problem -- if not, post back and I can suggest other remedies.

Hi, sill no joy with my sound on my iPad .the sound only works on one app ( Annie ) and the ring volume and it works for about 5 seconds after I switch it on . Was talking to apple and they said the reset my iPad and this will fix it .done this and it is still not working only with earphone and Annie. What next ?As they said this is unheard of as it was the upgrade to iso6 that caused this problem . Help

No Chrome still having issues, help please.

I am trying to learn how to do NO CHROME windows. I have a
small AIR Application which would like to make it without chrome
and have tried the online tutorials but not having much. I am able
to get the window to appear without chrome but with my original
window, i have another window with systems setting pops in as well.
Can anyone help me, please.
Here is my code:To make an AIR app without chrome, you don't have to create a
child window. The app itself can have no chrome. Here are the
requirements for a no-chrome app:
FIRST, in <mx:WindowedApplication> set the attribute
showFlexChrome="false".
SECOND, create an Application Descriptor XML File in the src
folder named with your app's name, and with "-app" appended, as
follows:
my app startup file is src/nochrome.mxml
my descriptor file is src/nochrome-app.xml
(Note that this is an XML file, not an MXML file.)
This Application Descriptor File "ADF" is normally created
for you automatically when you use the Flex Builder wizard to
create your AIR app. If it's not already there, then you'll need to
get the contents just right. For now, I'll assume you have that
file already but haven't used it; if you're not using Flex Builder,
then let me know and I can post the contents of a default
Application Descriptor File. But I highly recommend using the Flex
Builder new file wizard to create your app.
In the ADF, there are two settings to change; here are the
values they should be set to:
<systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
<transparent>true</transparent> (this is
OPTIONAL)
If you're editing the automatic ADF created by Flex Builder,
be sure to remove the comment prefixes and suffixes, or your edited
settings will remain comments and therefore be ignored.
Now your app will have no chrome and (if you set the
transparent property) will also be transparent. So you'll want to
drop at least an EXIT button on the Design page, so there will be
some way to close it! You can use Debug Mode in Flex Builder to
stop the app if there's no visible way to end it.
If you are using transparency too, then the app itself (the
WindowedApplication object) is transparent, so you would typically
add a canvas component to the app's window, and use that for the
app background. For irregular shaped apps, you might use an image
component with a PNG image containing transparency. Or, you could
use code to draw directly on the invisible window. Whatever other
components are dropped on the invisible app window will be visible,
and will appear to float over the desktop.
If you don't set transparent to True, then the app will be
visible, but will still have no chrome. But I suspect that if
you're experimenting with no chrome, you'll very soon be
experimenting with irregular shapes or other forms of transparency.

PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 10 USING CANON 7D IMAGE PROBLEMS - HELP PLEASE
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ELEMENTS 10 AND IMAGES FROM MY CANON 7D WHEN I DOWNLOAD TO SONY LAPTOP ON WINDOWS VISTA. COLOURS ARE DISTORTED, ESPECIALLY ON REDS WHICH ARE SHOWING AS EXTREMELY VIVID AND SOME BROWNS GOING TO A WINE COLOUR. THIS IS A FAIRLY RECENT PROBLEM AND NOT SURE WHAT I AM DOING WRONG? I have had the 7d for 4 years or more.
The images downloaded before from the 7d, we're ok and still look ok, it is only in the past month this has happened and it is not with every image it is intermittent. Some are clear then others on the same shoot have the problem. It is even more exaggerated when printed.
I have tried Zoom browser and it is less evident on there but still shows.
I am shooting both with Raw & Jpeg and I think it shows in both.
Being a mean Scotsman I grudge having paid for Photoshop Elements and not getting the good of it.
I have tried Adobe on line but no luck and they ask me to pay for an annual contract before they will give me technical support, which is about £100.
I appreciate your assistance and any further help.

When you click on a thumbnail and the larger image opens, when you move the mouse all the way to the right or left, the image just moves a fraction of the distance...
I simply can't figure this out...I only manage to have the image follow the mouse til the absolute edges....
I am playing arround with 2 scrolling codes:

CHEERSdepending on the way you lay it out you could have it become part of the rollover on each button. But you'd have to have enough space on screen to accommodate the text you want displayed. Note that the video playing as part of menu background can only be so long and adds to the media on the disk.

I just recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite 10.10.2
I also updated my "Pages" when asked to.
Now when a open any of my Pages documents, I cannot select/edit any of the objects/images in those documents.
I have gone through the "Pages" help but still cannot solve the problem.
There used to be a "make background objects selectable" button, but I can no longer find it.
I have tried the "arrange tab" > section masters > make master objects selectable, but nothing happened

I checked out your link and I remember the import box popping up when I upgraded from iWork to Pages a few years ago. My problem is with all files (even documents created with "pages" last week. The documents open fine, I just cannot select/edit the objects/images in the background of my documents. Yes, I have tried going through all of the tab menus and layout options and tried "pages" help.
So my problem is that I cannot open documents and adapt them to my next lesson, etc.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
