  • Subcontracting multiple BoM levels for Project Stock

    Hi,
We are an engineer / make-to-order manufacturer, so we use a lot of "individual" type materials (instead of collective).  We are trying to subcontract several BoM levels of work to different vendors, and we are seeing many false requirements.
So we have something like this (this is all in project / wbs element stock):
    Make hereSubcontract Requisition
    Make hereRaw material
    Subcontract Purchase OrderMake here
    Raw material
    Raw material
    Make hereRaw material
The subcontracting items are driving additional false MRP requirements (planned orders and purchase requisitions) for all the raw materials under them.
I figured out how to fix the subcontract on level 3 by transferring the HALB material from project stock to unrestricted stock (411Q), then transferring it to subcontract stock (541) (Is there a better way to do this?  Now I can't see my project-specific stock line for that item).  But, while that purchase order is still open, there's nothing I can transfer to make the extra, false requirements disappear.  Also, I am getting an MRP exception telling me to cancel the PO because it doesn't see the dependent requirement for the subcontract requisition above it.
Does this question make sense?  How can we fix it?  I need to get that subcontract requisition to see that its material will come from the subcontract purchase order.
    Thanks!

    Hi All,
    Any thoughts or ideas?
    Thanks very much,

  • Profitability Reporting at Package (BOM) level

How do other companies address this issue:
We sell product solutions (packages) consisting of one or more components and for logistics purposes need to process at component level in sales order, delivery, material doc etc.  However from a finance, marketing and customer perspective the product being sold is the sum of the components and so we want to measure profitability at this level.  However costs get posted to FI accounting documents at component level whilst revenue is posted at BOM level.  The package is entered as a BOM in the sales order and are normally fixed components e.g. as below:
                                                       Revenue      Cost
    Package:       DT100                     2000
    Component:     A100                                        100
                            B200                                           50
                            C300                                           50
    Profit= 2000-(1005050) = 1800
Ideally I need to get a posting that shows the related product package for the component cost otherwise I have to do clever reporting to look back to original sales documents to find related product package to link component costs to.  Does CO-PA assist here or can I just do it in FI accounting in some way.  I also considered using the product hierarchy i.e. the product hierarchy for both component (cost) and product package (revenue) is the product hierarchy for the product package.
    Much appreciate any insights.
Happy Xmas and best wishes for New Year

  • Supply Area-BOM Level by Level

    Hi Folks,
I am having a problem in fetching the Supply area when a Component is having many sub-assemblies.
    To be in detail,
I am fetching the  DISTINCT Production Order(AUFNR) from MSEG w.r.t to MBLNR and MJAHR.
Then w.r.t to this AUFNR I am fetching the BOM category(STLTY) and BOM (STLNR).
Then w.r.to this STLTY and STLNR I am fetching the Supply area(PRVBE).
If the supply area is maintained at this level, then fine.If this BOM is having many sub-Assemblies and the supply area is maintained at a different level then we need to explode that BOM step by step and fetch the Supply Area.
To be precise CS11 gives the Supply Area according to the BOM Level by Level.I just wanna fetch the Supply Area as per that.Do anyone here has an idea about how this functionality can be achieved.
I am trying to find by debugging CS11,any valuable inputs from experts here will be helpful.
    Thanks,

  • Maintaining Stocks at WM Level

    Dear All,
I have a request from the business whether we could maintain stock at WM level without account assignment. That is stocks are GRN in IM Level with account assignment and when it comes to WM level the stocks should not be based on Account Assignment.
From the system behavioural pattern i believe this is not possible, the reason they are insisting on this is due to the following factors.
    1. Our industry is Apparel and with regard to Raw Materials like fabric our present practical scenario is such that we GRN stocks in IM based on Sales Order / Line item. So for eg:
    PO/LI    - Material A - 200yds - SO/LI1 ( SU 1, SU 2)
    PO/LI2  - Material A - 100yds - SO/LI2 ( SU3)
So when the GRN is done the stocks are allocated for the respective Sales Order / Line items. Physically we have three SU (100 each) satisfying the two Sales Order/ line items. So when the user wants to issue for a production order he has the flexibility to select either of the three SUs to satisfy SO/LI1 or SO/LI2 (without the WM system in place)
With WM in place the storage units would be allocated for the respective sales order / Line items as shown above SO/LI1 (SU1 & SU2) & SO/LI2 (SU3). Now the user does not have the flexibility to issue SU3 for SO/LI1.
( The reason the business follows this practice is due to the fact that the product (Fabric) has quite a lot of characteristics such as Width, Shrinkage, Shade so only after the inspection process do they know which SU satisfies which SO/LI.
How do we overcome an issue like this, since at the point of GRN ( MM & WM) we cannot gurantee the correct SUs are getting allocated for the correct SO/LI. As a temporary measure i am doing an MB1B (413) process to switch SUs between SO/LI. Is there any other way i could mitigate this issue,
    2. The second issue is during stock counts
Since with WM in place all the SUs will be specific to Sales Order / Line items but when the stores do a stock count they do
based on material / SU alone and are not aware how much yardage is available for SO/LI at Storage Unit Level. Thus the
continous inventory process breaks the stock at SU ( SO/LI Level). Do i have to create a seperate ZPROGRAM to facilitate the
stock count process or is there any way i could do a continous count for material & SU without taking into account the SO/LI.
Hope my queries are clear, would appreciate a response
    Thanks
    Shabeen Buhary

    Hello,
Based on my understanding . You are receiving goods with "E" stock ( special stock indicator). This E indicator comes with sales order number and line item will be stored( ex: E '151'000020) in the IM and WM stock. (you can see this in LS26/MMBE once you receive). So you canot issue this item for another line item of the same order. Coming to the questions you raised
    1. "whether we could maintain stock at WM level without account assignment?".
What ever comes from IM will be the same in WM. So you can not change the stock indicator value only in WM while issuing goods to a specific on hand orders with "E" indicator. I hope you should do a process change either in SD/IM area than in WM. Because  you said that "product (Fabric) has quite a lot of characteristics such as Width, Shrinkage, Shade only after the inspection process do they know which SU satisfies".
and So when you are creating a sale order of that kind you should have either not having the specific purchase( E stock ) or should have a BATCH with characteristics. OR you should transfer the stock to quality for quality inspection and then make available for issue. Either way you need to see this issue beyond WM level because this is a process of (SD/IM/FI) cross function.
    2. "is there any way i could do a continous count for material & SU without taking into account the SO/LI.?".
    I hope NOT.
I could not understand yardage problem while counting.i don't know if any physical material handling problem in warehouse will intern effect of your continuous counting.
I Hope looking more options in Batch/quality/sales order areas will certainly help you..... thanks

  • What is the T-code to see the stock at tank level?

What is the T-code to see the stock at tank level?
    Regards
    S.Senthil

    Hi Senthil,
In Order to Overview the stock at tank level do the following:
                1. Tcode-   O4_TIGER
                2. In the screen launched set the 'Transaction' Field as 'Stock Overview'.
                3. In the 'Pre selection' frame, enter the Storage Location and the Seq. No (Tank ID) details
                4. On execution you will get to see a Report. Refer to the 'Corr. Book Stock' column for the available stock.
                5. If there are more than one materials assigned to a tank. Click on the line item of the Report to see the break up materialvice.
P.S: To fine the seq No of the tank use tcode 'O4NA'.
Please let me know if this has helped you.

  • Can 119 phantom asslys at one bom level  create problem in product costing

I am going through a scenario where there r 119 phantom assemlies at one bom level. Can this create problem in product costing? It has been told to me by somebody that there can not be more than 99 phantom asslys at one level of bom? Is that true? My problem is that when i am doing product costing it is showing error-" too many dummies at bom level". Is this related to no. of phantom asslys at one bom level?

    HI bala,
all the materials are costing relevent. I thik this problem is releteted with no. of phantom assemlies allowed at one bom level.
I had 119 phantom assemlies at bom level 3 of a varient material. At that time it gives me abap runtime error during product costing.
Now I have removed special procurment key 50 from material master of 20 number of phantom asslys. so now there r now 99 phantom assemlies at bom level 3.
I have taken costing run and its not giving error.
so i reached to conclusion that statndard limit of no. of phantom assemlies at one bom level can not exeed 99.
Now customer requires 119 phantom assleys at this level 3 of bom.
So can u suggest me whether i should contact sap to increase this limit for this perticular case?
will they solve my problem or there is any other solution to this?
    please reply.

  • Stock at plant level

    Hey,
Is it possible to have stock at plant level. Or do you always need a storage location?
    Steven

    Hello,
When  you have a record in MARC for a certain material plant combination, but no record in MARD for that combination then  it means that for the material no stock is possible at storage location level.
If you have a entry in MARD table means for that material you have stock at plant / Storage location level.
But incase if  material is provided to subcontract ( Vendor ) then this stock will not be at storage location level but it will be at plant level.
    e.g. - total 1000 qty
100 - provided to vendor for subcontracting
    800 - stor. A
    100 - stor. B
Then in MARD you will get only 900 qty and not 1000 qty

    Hi,
You can use LSMW for Tcode LT01 to upload inital stock in WH.
So here u can enter all relevant data required like material, qty, batch, plant, Sloc etc..

  • How to plan in characteristic based forecast in BOM level

    Hi experts,
How to plan in characteristic based forecast in BOM level
Can explain me elaborate about this.
    Regards,
    babu

    Hi Harsh,
Remember that the tree table is a Master-Detail relationship between VO. So in your case, you are applying a VO Criteria to your Master, wich will allow you to filter data a Master Level. If you want to filter the Child VO, you need to create a ViewCriteria for it and apply it in your AM -> YourMaster -> YourChild VO :: Edit -> Shuttle the VC to the right.
But following this approach the Filter you use in the ChildVO, will be applied to all Childs independently of the MasterVO.
Hope it is clearer now, but let me know if you need more help or if you think I didn't understand your main issue.

  • Stock report as per BOM level component

    Hi All,
Is there any report for stock materials in sap which will give stock as per BOM component. Requirement is like if header material is A which is having component X, Y and Z, if i want to know what is the stock level of all this items as per mention in BOM.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajesh,
If you check your FG in MD04 there's a button on the left, under the menu (I'm not before SAP I don't know its exact name). If you push that button you can get e tree-structure of the components and clicking on the components you can get their stock/requirement list. You can check them one-by-one...
As per my knowledge there's no BOM-component specific stock report that would display the stock level of all the components. Maybe this kind of stock report wouldn't be very useful because stock level itself doesn't give a full picture of the planning situation / availabilty of your component.
I mean you should know the whole planning situation of your component and it's very likely that stock level itself is not enough - you may have orders, reservations, etc for your goods and these MRP elements have an effect on material availabilty...
Additionally, you may have components that build not only into one BOM but into several ones...
Please try to use MD04 (there's a collective display tab as I remember).
But if you adhere to our idea, you can get the components e.g. via transaction CS12 and after ctrl+c you can insert them in MB52's apropriate selection field...or you can create an own query but my advice is to please check whether MRP-transactions are good for you.
