Stop Dreamweaver loading scripts/CSS files included in a page

Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 (Mac OS X 10.10, Yosemite) has a big BUG... isn't possibile build with it large/complex websites.
If I have a website with large numbers of css files (or scripts), Dreamweaver takes too much time to load/save a page that included them (the wheel turns indefinitely).
Is it possible to stop Dreamweaver from loading scripts and CSS files included in a page while I'm working on it (even temporarily)?
I know that without this function (load external files) Dreamweaver is absolutely useless, but at the moment I haven't still found another IDE tool and I need to work with speed.

Have you validated your code to check for errors?

You could comment out your links to external scripts and CSS Files.

To turn off styles in Design View only, go to View > Style Rendering > untick Display Styles. Or consider using a Design-Time Style Sheet.

To speed things up a bit, try these tips:
1. Edit -> Preferences -> Code Hints -> Disable description tooltips
2. Edit -> Preferences -> Highlighting -> Untick both Live Data Untranslated and Translated

Gallery files included on a page without gallery images/thumbnails

Hi,
I included the .js files for the gallery on a page without
gallery images/thumbnails.
The effect is, that the first image with a link on that page
gets a yellow border (as normally the first thumbnail does).
To correct the problem, I changed the code in line 44 of
SpryThumbViewer.js:
from
this.tnImageSelector = "a[href] > img";
to
this.tnImageSelector = "div.thumbnail a[href] > img";
(of course, you have to put a <div
class="thumbnail">...</div> around an image on real
gallery pages, so that they work there)
Do you see any problems with the changed code? Could it be
changed in the official release?

Where do I apply this CSS file in the login page to get the required output

I am an apex beginner. I got this html text from a 'Google Blank Search' for beautifying the login page. I have no idea where to copy and paste this CSS file in the 'login' edit page. If I open 'Edit Page template option, I can see page 'Definition' , 'Header' and 'Footer' and so many codes. In which part of these areas I Should copy this script to get the output.

Importing the js and css files included in the distributable JAR

Hi, I have a custom JSF component that needs one .css and one .js file.
The question is: how can I put those files in the distributable JAR of the component, allowing the jsf pages that use this custom tag, to automatically import them once per page-?
(RichFaces components, for example, work in this way).

JSF 2.0 will have this functionality out of the box. See [1].
Would recommend you give it a shot. The first beta will be released soon, but the nightlies [2]
are fairly stable right now.

Stop Dreamweaver from Locking Local Files?

Using Dreamweaver's check-in/check-out system, Dreamweaver
automatically locks a local file when it's checked in, i.e., the
local copy of the file is set to read-only. Does anyone know of a
way to disable this? I would like for Dreamweaver not to lock the
local files when I check them in to the remote (server) site.

Ted - that's the wrong setup for checkin/checkout to work
anyhow.
You cannot share a local site. Each person must have their
own local site,
and share a staging server location. Checkin/checkout would
then provide
some measure of security if that is the case.
Set up two site definitions:
1. Local site is local, remote site is staging server.
Everyone uses this
site to work on their piece of the action. Nobody can check
out a file that
someone else already has checked out.
2. Local site is staging server, remote site is production
server. Only
the project leader uses this site, and they only use it to
PUSH files to the
production server.

Dreamweaver CS5 - Update Template Files after viewing the page in a browser

Hi
Just a quickie I hope someone can help me with.
My site has been created using a Template. Everytime I look at a page in a browser, I get the UPDATE TEMPLATE FILES. Clicking update or don't update has no effect so I'm wondering why this message keeps appearing and how to stop it. I usually use Firefox on Windows 7 but it seems to happen with any browser.
Any suggestions?

This is erratic. I don't get it all the time but enough of the time for it to be an annoyance. If I've made a change to content in DW then chosen the Preview in Browser option then exited the browser to return to DW, the alert appears. And it has happened to my delegates in training sessions when they have repeated the same process but with IE.
As I said, it doesn't happen all of the time - we seem to get a run of it then nothing. For example, I was plagued with it all day yesterday but it hasn't occurred once today!!!

Include a CSS file problem

I having a problem in including a css file in my jsp pages.
the tag is written as follows
<link rel="StyleSheet" type="text/css" href="ressources/stylesheet.css" media="screen"> I did change the directory ressource, the path and tried to play each and every time with this tag but it doesn't work. by the time I deploy my application, it tells me to download this css file or sometimes it tells me that the ressource is not available.
I am using netbeans with Glassfish.

my CSS file is in the application memory.
I want to prevent the option to write my string as a new file and then read it again.

I see we can use jena api to write a program to load r2rml mapping file into the stage table. Is there any scripts or tools doing the same thing?

The prepareBulk method in OracleBulkUpdatedHandler class can be used to load an RDF file (including r2rml) into a staging table.

How to load portlet css by myself defined.

The . means start the search relative to the . dependencies file , so the path you specify in href must resolve relative to that
Suppose your folder structure is
TestPortal
  resources
    yourdepenciesfile.dependencies

      demos.css
Then you would specify (the search path element means start in folder css relative to where the file is and the href is then searched beginning from there)

Your Css file cannot be under WEB-INF it must be under a location that can be reached by the browserAll The framework will do when the file is found is print the following in the <head> section

which the browser will then try to download. If you keep your css file in WEB-INF then the browser will request for the file, but the server will refuse to serve it (since it doesnt serve any file under WEB-INF)

you have to add xmlns:p="http://www.bea.com/servers/portal/framework/laf/1.0.0" i.e. you are binding the prefix 'p' to the namespace specified. Read up on XML namespaces if you have a problem with the above. Your xml works because you have defined the default namespace to be the correct one , but it always helps to know how something is working. If you add xmlns:p then you need to add p: to the elements, if you define it as default you dont need anything else. As before read up on XML namespaces

HTML Script not being included

The following is my code: <script src="/1337.js" type="text/javascript" language="javascript"></script>
This is included and my page works on all browsers but firefox (on ubuntu). What's wrong with it?

I fixed it. It turns out that it was a problem in the contents of the script causing the whole script to be ignored, and excluded from firebug's list of scripts. PS it wasn't any of the other solutions given.

I would remove the language attribute. Not needed in modern browsers. But unlikely to be your problem.
Can you confirm in the Web Console that the file is loading (200 status)? Use Ctrl+Shift+r to bypass the cache and force a full retrieval and then watch for the file.
Assuming Firefox retrieves the script, is there anything of note in the Browser Console (formerly known as the Error Console) in relation to the script contents?

I have an index page that does not correctly load css, but css works on all other pages in the site.

http://www.boulderridgecondos.com/ does not load the css correctly, but ALL other pages in the site do load the css correctly. There is nothing different (that I can identify) between the pages.

That page is saved as UTF-16 (Content-Type: text/html (BOM UTF-16, litte-endian)) in your text editor. The CSS file is send as ISO-8859-1. Firefox likes to see all files in the same encoding. The other pages are send as ISO-8859-1 and thus use that CSS file. You will have to re-save that page as ISO-8859-1 and upload that corrected version.

A script in file EditingUtils.js has been running for a long time CS4

I'm getting this error in dreamweaver:

I get the error when I open a page that has several spry elements, even after shutting down my computer and rebooting. It has over 100 spry collapsible panels, which each have their own name, ie: var CollapsiblePanel108 = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel108")
I read that editing the parameters of a widget may cause problems for CS3, and it is resolved for CS3: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/401/kb401257.html, but I don't know how to fix the problem for CS4.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I think you have answered your own question. More than 100 Spry collapsible panels is not exactly what most people would call "several". It's a huge - and probably unrealistic - amount.
I don't think there is an actual limit on the number of Spry elements that you can have on a page, but Dreamweaver uses JavaScript in the background to inspect the document and edit it. The more elements you have, the greater the processing power and memory your computer requires to handle them. It might work with a faster processor or more RAM, but I think you need to reconsider your design strategy.

CSS file name not appearing accurately

Dear Dreamweaver Forum,
To sort of give you a context of what I've been doing, I've been following Garrick Chow's Dreamweaver CS3 tutorials through Lynda.com.
Specifically, I'm currently studying chapter 7 Typography.
I tried on my own to save a CSS style sheet.
It seems no matter what I do I am not able to get the CSS panel in Dreamweaver CS3 to save a style with the name I give it in the Save As dialog box.
Below is a 5-step walkthrough of what I'm talking about with two questions in blue after step 5:
Step 1:
Here I have a situation in which I would like to take the style currently in the CSS Styles panel <style> and turn it into an external style sheet I can use with my other .html pages.
Step 2:
Therefore, I used shift + click and selected all the selectors (or should I call them “rules”?) in the CSS panel.
I then right-clicked and selected “Move to External Style Sheet”. I then get this resulting dialog box:
Step 3:
I want to create a new style sheet and so I click the radio button next to “A new style sheet”:
Step 4:
I navigate to my ch7_typography root folder and, in the “Save As” field I type “styles.css”:
Step 5:
The problem is that after hitting the Save button, Dreamweaver saves the css file not as “styles.css” but as “untitled.css”.
My question is why did it do that?
My other question is how can I get Dreamweaver to save the .css file as “styles.css” or “whatevername.css”
I choose to give to it?

This is how I do it.
Hit File > New > CSS.
You now have a blank, untitled CSS page.
In Code View, switch to your HTML page. Scroll down to the CSS rules -- these are between the <style type="text/css> and </style> tags. Highlight and copy your CSS rules (Ctrl+C) without the <style> tags.
Switch to CSS page and hit paste (Ctrl+V).
File > Save As > some-filename.css Done.
