Stop streaming when a popup is created

Hello,
I've just installed a button on my flash player that, when clicked, a popup window of said flash player appears.
Everything works but I have one wee problem. When I click for the Flash player to popup, the existing player in the original window continues streaming the video. Until the video has completely streamed in the existing window, the popup window does not start streaming.
Some of the vids are quite large, forexample taking about 5 mins for the download on the existing page, and then another 5 mins in the popup, which the customer is not at all happy with.
Is there anyway I can stop the existing player streaming when a popup is created? I think I could move the slider to 100% but can't workout how to do this
My code for the popup button is (in AS3):

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Go to the include MV45AFZZ of Sales Order Main program SAPMV45A
and find the correct exit in that and write the User exit code after saving the document FORM USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE or
FORM USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT by calling/writing the
fun module POP_UP_TO_CONFIRM.

Provide you have Acrobat 9 installed in an OS for which Acrobat 9 is compatible then you can use the functionality.
As well, you need a scanner connected, powered up, and the software installed. Acrobat 9 "prefers" TWAIN drivers.
Always visit the scanner vendor's site and download - install the latest greatest software.
n.b., The Acrobat 9.x product family passed into "End of Support" mid-year 2013.
As well the Acrobat 9.x product family is not compatible with contemporary OSs.

Solution to stop error when trying to create a portfolio

Hi all,
I finally found a way to make a portfolio in acrobat pro 9. The problems I was having were explained in the thread titled "Acrobat pro 9 has a stop error when trying to create a portfoloi"
It seems ther is another way to do this, by selecting 'combine' and then 'merge files into a single pdf' rather than 'assemble pdf portfolio'.
The merge option also gives the choice of making a pdf package and does not result in a stop error with authplay.dll.
So much for Adobe support who conuld not tell me this or respond to support requests.
All I have to do now is to remember to not click on 'assemble pdf portfolio' when I want to assemble a pdf portfolio but "merge files into a single pdf" when I want to assemble a pdf portfolio.
I would still like to hear from Adobe why acrobat pro 9 has a stop error with authplay.dll.
I feel a lot happier now.

I read through the pdf wth your emails to/from customer support. I'll have to defer to someone else because it seems you have tried what I would suggest.
If someone else does not respond with a better plan and you are willing to spend a bit more time before writing off Acrobat 9, I would try the process below one last time. (If you are using a CS suite, while authplay.dll is found in each of the directories, it does not appear that the issue extends to the other programs.)
1. Using Add/Remove Programs, uninstall all Adobe Acrobat and Reader software and uninstall the Adobe Flash Player Active X and Adobe Flash Player Plugin. If you have it, uninstall Adobe Air.
2. In C:\Documents and Settings\(your profile name)\Application Data\Adobe, delete the Acrobat and Adobe PDF folders if they still exist.
3. Reinstall only Acrobat 9.
4. From Acrobat, run the updater Help > Check for Updates and install all updates.
5. Verify Adobe Acrobat is now version 9.2: Help > About Adobe Acrobat Pro (If for any reason it is not 9.2, use the update on http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
6. Test

While searching for a solution, I just saw your post over at acrobatusers.com (http://www.acrobatusers.com/forums/aucbb/viewtopic.php?id=15765). Looks like my advice was largely a duplicate, although your event log indicates Acrobat did not update properly.

Photoshop stops responding when creating a 11x8.5 collage

I've been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 for a couple of months to create 11x8.5 photo collage's as part of my digital scrapbook. Yesterday, when I tried to create a new collage the program stopped responding and forced me to close it. It will only do this with an 11x8.5, it's not a problem for any other size, unfortunetly the rest of my pages are 11x8.5 so I really need to be able to use this size! What could possibly be causing this?

I have this same problem and the suggestion didn't help me. Does anyone know of a solution?
I've tried it in both the Organizer and Editor interfaces and tried selecting and de-selecting the box indicating "Autofill with Selected Images".
8.50 x 11.00 works fine, but 11.00 x 8.50 - crashes every time.

Once you know exactly what it is you are editing, report back with that information... and your project setting, and if there is a red line above the video in the timeline, which indicates a mismatch between video and project

First, go install the MacOS 10.10 updates - you should be on 10.10.2.
I haven't heard of Photoshop not responding during opens and saves. Does it stop responding while the open/save dialogs are visible, or while Photoshop is actually reading or writing files?
10.10.1 did fix a crash in the open/save dialogs, but 10.10.2 still has some odd issues (mostly program errors coming from the OS code) in the open/save dialogs.

How to stop threads, process, streams when closing a (internal) JFrame?

Dear all,
I read a Javaworld article about Runtime.exec(), which will output the process outputs and error outputs to either a file or System.out. Now I want to practice it by outputing the process output/error to a Swing JTextArea. It works fine if the process ends successfully.
My problem is that I want to stop all the output threads and clear all the streams when user click close JFrame button before the process finished. The code is shown below. Note that this frame is poped up by a click from another main frame. ( it is not exiting the main Swing application). This happened when I want to kill a process when it is running.
I tried to implements a WindowListener and add
public void windowClosing(WindowEvent e) to the JFrame.
Inside this method I used process.destroy() and errorGobbler = null, outputGobbler = null, or outputGobbler.interrupt(), errorGobbler.interrupt(). But all these seems does not work. Sometimes thread was not stopped, sometimes process was not destroyed (because the stream was still print out something), sometimes the error stream was not successfully closed - by printing out interruptted by user error message.
How can I make sure all the underlying streams and threads, including the PrintStream in StreamGobbler class are closed?
Again this Frame could be a Dialog or InternalFrame, i.e, when I close the frame, the main frame does not exit!

Thread.interrupt() doesn't stop a thread. You'll have to read the API for more specifics. You could use something like interrupt to force interruption of the thread for the reason of checking the terminating case though. I believe you would want to use this in the case where operations can take a long time.
Setting your reference to the thread to be null won't stop the thread since it's running. You just lose your reference to it.
I believe once the thread stops running your streams will be closed, but possibly not cleanly. Someone who has more knowledge of threads might be able to answer this better, but I would generally say clean up after yourself especially if you are writting out data.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

Disk Utility stops responding when creating a CD/DVD image

I'm using a PowerBook G4 (Intel processor) and recently updated from 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard.
I've been copying some personal DVDs (Non-commercial so not copy protected) with Disk Utility.
It was working just fine under 10.5.8, and for the first DVD after updating.
However now when I try to create an image from the DVD, the dialog box opens as though it is
reading from the DVD (As usual) but the progress bar doesn't move.
When I try to cancel, the spinning beach ball comes up and end up having to force quit.
I have tried with various DVDs but the result is the same.
I have shutdown and restarted, and even reset the P-RAM for good measure, but to no effect.
There is no Disk Utility file in the preferences folder so I was unable to trash preferences.
FYI: I bought the computer in Japan so I am using the Japanese OS, but I expect that should
make no difference to the problem.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

TS1398 My wifi signal in my iphone 4 is very poor it wasn't the same before. When ever I try to play video it stopes streaming. I hope apple has an answer for this.

I do not experience any problem browsing Internet or using social networks via wifi but whenever I play a video from YouTube or any other source it stopes streaming after playing 10 to 15 sec video, doesn't matter how close I am from the homehub or which Internet provider I am using. Recently I am experiencing that my phone became slow after installing the new iOS 6.1.2. Application takes time to open. Sometimes application closes on there won without any command. The key l board became slower. I wish I could get the previous version of iOS which was perfect for my iPhone 4.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings

Need to stop creation of second popup until first popup is completed

Hi All,
I have a popup window in a WD component that display a PDF report. It works perfectly. However, I just received a new requirement to create another popup window immediately prior to the PDF report popup window which will allow the users to answer a Yes/No question which will change the content of the PDF. I thought that this would be a simple request and created another window for this new popup and preceded the call to create the PDF popup window with a call to create and open the new popup window. The problem now is that when I run the WD Application, both popups are created and opened at the same time with the first popup behind the second popup. I do not want the second popup to be created and opened until the user selects Yes/No on the first popup window.
Does anyone have an idea how to accomplish this?

Safari stops responding when I try to bookmark (and other slow problems!)

Two weeks ago my logicboard died, so I sent my ibook out to Apple for it to be fixed. Ever since I got it back this past Tuesday, my Safari has been extremely slow, but nothing else is wrong with my computer. Here are the problems:
- The biggest issue is that Safari stops responding when I try to make a bookmark. The popup appears to select the bookmark's destination and to enter the name, but when you hit ok, the rainbow wheel comes up and it stops responding, so I have to reset Safari, and now I can't make new bookmarks at all.
- It lags when it tries to open new windows, especially new tabs.
- If a new page loads that scrolls at all, and then I try to scroll down, the wheel appears for several seconds until it can load the rest of the page. It's as though it gets stuck before it can scroll.
- Sometimes when typing, it will also start to lag behind my typing speed, or if I try to click on a new field, it will not immediately allow me to type on occasion.
All these things have never happened before I sent it out. I have reset my cache, and I have tried entering the open DNS addresses in my networks, which has improved loading speed, but hasn't fixed any of these problems. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how I can fix anything?

Try verifying the hard disk.
Boot from your restore disk while holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo, then let go of the C key. You'll see an Installation window, select English. From the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. If Disk Utility cannot repair the disk you have several options. One is DiskWarrior or
TechToolPro If Disk Utility can repair any errors, go back to the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
If you don't have a restore disk, try booting into Safe Mode
