Stopping image linking to detailed view

I have created a web app to manage a large number of adverts on a clients site. I have a simple app with a few fields that include an image and the url to go to when the user clicks on the image.
The idea was to use the list view to have something like this: <a href="{tag_url">{tag_image}</a>
..but BC seems to overwrite this and links to the detailed view instead.
How do I get around this?

You do not need to do that Dave
Custom image field has two options to the tag
{tag_yourimage_nolink} will stop the link rendering and {tag_yourimage_value} will render the url of the value so you can use that to wrap in your own image attribute.

you need to change photos page's detail view widget's downloadPhoto function (in DetailView.js file), you can change it in several places:
1) inside iweb.app, you have to drill into iweb.app by control click on it and select Show Package Contents... to inside iWeb.app/Contents/Resources/Widgets/DetailView.iwdgt
2) inside your published site: <your site>/Scripts/Widgets/DetailView

Javascript stops working when a detail view of a web app is shown

On a trial site I am working on for some reason the javascript breaks on the template when a detail view of a webapp is on screen. If anyone could let me know why this might be please let me know.

Liam, I figured it out based on your comment. Something I really do know but just totally overlooked.
The problem was this:
<script type="text/javascript" src="js/mediaelement-and-player.min.js"></script>
The Fix:
<script type="text/javascript" src="/js/mediaelement-and-player.min.js"></script>
I was missing the / for the beginning of the path.

Add a image on account details view

Hello,
I've following requirement.
Add a image on the account details view concerning to a special status.
What's the best solution here? View is BP_HEAD/AccountDetails.
Or should i create a complete new view?

This is configurable view so any mime data you can place before or after code:

For example adding such

So throug changing of lv_status_img_url you will display img for spesial status.

Web App detail view.

We are going to rebuild a property listing site in BC. We can create a web app with list view and detail view as per the knowledgebase. What we need to do though is make the background image change for detail view page.
Please see http://www.cadigal.com.au/Properties-for-Leasing for an example. Each detail view has a different background image. Can this be done? How?

You can create a custom string field in your web app for the image URL and then use jQuery to append the background image style to the body or some other tag. Perhaps you can look at this function http://api.jquery.com/css/. Or you could maybe use this function as well http://api.jquery.com/append/. There are probably other ways of doing it, but that would be my approach.

Order list not linking through to detail view

Hi all, I'm creating an order list in a secure zone, each order needs to link to the invoice of that order (the detail view). I have read:

but cant seem to link from the order list to the detail view.
My list template is:

Are any of these tags meant to link to the detail view? I have looked for further tags which link to the detail view but cant find any.

Yea, best is to wrap {tag_productimage} in a div with a class, i.e. <div class="order-image">{tag_productimage}</div> and "shrink" it with css:
.order-image {
     width:80px;
     height:80px;
.order-image img {
     width:100%;
You can not define a template for the detail view (I wish...), it is using the default template.

Bug in details view: index columns not shown correctly, stops at 4th column

I do have two indices on a table which are shown in the details view. In the column 'columns' only the first 4 columns are shown that belong to the index.
If I choose an index in another detail view, all columns are shown correctly.
Where to report this bug?

I just realized this was an issue today.
Once one knows that only 4 columns are shown in the summary and that you have to click on the index name for any index that shows 4 columns to see if there are more, well that extra click is pretty simple and not a big deal.
The problem is BEFORE one knows of this. For weeks, when reviewing some indexes created by others, I was under the wrong impression about some indexes because I thought they only had the 4 columns shown. I didn't know at that time that I had to select the index and look at the detail section.
It wasn't until I just happened to click on one of them and saw more columns listed that I realized there was a bug. And yes, as far as I'm concerned, this is a bug not a feature.
At an absolute minimum, there should be something done so users know they have to look at the details. Perhaps the heading could be changed to "Columns (up to 4)" or the ellipsis or (more) could be added as someone else suggested. Even just an additional comma would help. I can't imagine why it was written to stop at 4 anyway - why does that make any sense?
This is the first time I've come to this forum so I'm not sure how to request an enhancement. I'll read a few other threads and see if I can tell.

Many - to - many view links (master-detail)

Case :
I have a relation many-to-many between two tables, composed of 3 tables:
Table Users ( User_Id, User_name ) // Master 1
Table Groups ( Group_Id, Group_name ) // Master 2
Table Users_Groups ( User_Id, Group_Id ) // Child (holding then many - many relation)
Need :
I want to make Master-detail relation, so that when I change the group (Master 2) the details of the users - user_id, user_name - in this group appear in table below.
problem :
All the master-detail examples I have seen in Jdeveleoper, between One - many realtionship, where the details table contain the information to be displayed; now my case that the details to be displayed is in another table (Master 1) not in the child table directly.
So using ordinary view Link between the a master table and the child table displayes only the Id's of the child table but I need that the names that in (Master 1) table which is related to the selected master id.

Link to discussion detail view or flat view gets broken If new subject view is created

Whenever I try to create new subject view of discussion board with different name, the link to flat view for discussion detail is broken rather it opens the new subject view again. Does anyelse had this problem? and is

According to your description, my understanding is that when you click the subject in the new subject view, it opened the new subject view rather than going to the Flat view.
I could reproduce this issue. To fixing this issue, we need to modify the new subject view, and set it to show this view in the top-level folder. You can do as opening the view->Modify View->Folders, under ‘Show this view’, select ‘In the top-level
folder’, click OK.

How to link an image file in code view

I can't seem to figure out how to link the image file in code view. It has to be in code view because the image is hidden in Design View so I can't do it in HTML view. Here's the coded section:

Webapps. How can I create a link to a page instead of showing the details-view

I want my client to define what page a webapp shall point to in list-view, instead of showing the details view, but I cant figure out how. I have tried this, but it seams that tags don't work inside links:
<a href="{tag_my_custom_link}">{tag_name}</a>
.. does any one know how to do this?

The problem is the format of your tag. If your field name in the web app is "My Custom Link" then your tag is {tag_My Custom Link} (note the spaces).
Cedric is right though, make sure the field is a textfield and not a hyperlink field in your web app. If you use BC's new "Develop" tab up top you can navigate to your web app detail layout in /Layouts/Web Apps/<yourwebapp> and find "list.html". Then, you can use the toolbox on the right (click the data tab) to insert tags without having to guess. You can choose your custom field and insert the tag.

Open images in detail view

Is there a way to show images in detail view automatically, without the user needed to click on a picture?
So far I had to do it by pointing to webpage that is www.mydomain/mysite/mywebpage.html#0

I like the FastPictureViewer Codec pack myself. FULL support for all the functions required of codecs. Commercial software, but quite inexpensive and well worth the price.

Link to remove Product from Cart in Product list/detail views

I'm wondering if it would be possible to construct a link/button to remove a product from the cart (assuming it's in the cart) from within the product list or detail views.
Much like the 'remove' link on the shopping cart page.
Anyone done this or have any ideas as to how it might be done?

I was messing around with it and figured it out.
I changed the onclick value ...false to ...true.
Apparently this allows the href value to be used after the onclick function has run. Here's the jquery i used to make the change.
$(linkA).attr('onclick',$(linkA).attr('onclick').replace('false','true'));

Making an image in a pic viewer link to an outside site

I am very new to Flash and have purchased a great set of
tutorials from LearnFlash.com. I am currently taking what was
taught in the "Building Websites in Flash 8" and tweaking my own
site using the ideas. I have a portfolio page that has thumbnails
that when clicked on show in a pic viewer. What I want to happen is
to take the larger image in the pic viewer and be able to click on
it to get to the actual website. Now the guy that teaches in the
tutorials likes to make everything a movie clip. I am not sure that
I can make a button inside the movie clip of the pic viewer. Maybe
some text could show up under the pic viewer giving the name of the
site and they can click on that but I would rather have the image
in the pic viewer take them to the site. Here is the code that is
on the page so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is
in AS 2.0.
