Stopping Non-background Audio When Going to Next Screen

We've just imported the swf file. We don't want to import the
.cp files because there are sometimes 70 file in a demo, and we
don't want all those files in a "lesson," but what if a student
wants to stop a demo and advance through the lesson. The audio
keeps playing. What's the answer? Thanks for any help!! (We're
using an LMS that won't let us link to other files internally. We
can only access multiple files through the LMS menu, and often a
"lesson" will contain multiple "demos."

This solution worked GREAT! But now, it seems to have caused
another problem, and we're stumped again.
Sometimes, the first slide with audio in a lesson that uses
the stopAllSounds() command later plays only for a few seconds,
then stops. The animations continue to play. The first time that
happened, I experimented and deleted the slide with the
stopAllSounds() command (located several slides ahead of the
problem slide) and then the first slide played fine. I re-inserted
the slide with the stop actionscript, and the problem came back.
Note that I nefer removed the actionscript from the library.
It turned out that I didn't need that slide after all, so I
deleted it and everything on that lesson works great now.
BUT, I have started another lesson, and now the first slide
of THAT lesson only plays for a few seconds. But the audio on other
slides that occur after the problem slide, and that occur both
before and after the slide containing the stopAllSounds() command
play just fine.
I tried outsmarting the problem by duplicating the problem
slide to see if the audio on the second slide would work, but it
didn't work.
Any ideas about what is causing this and how to get around
it? (By the way, a team mate is using the slide in the same way
that I am and hasn't had the problem yet, but we don't know why I
am)

AIR 3.3 stop background audio when another audio app is launched?

I currently have audio playing in the background in my AIR app for iOS. My problem is that when you have the audio playing in the background, and you launch any other audio app on your phone...the audio starts to overlap because my AIR app does not stop playing audio. So when you open Pandora, Music, IHeartRadio, Youtube, etc...the AIR audio still plays.
Is this fixed in the AIR 3.3 release with the <executeInBackground> tag? Or is there another way for my AIR app to recognize that another audio app is launching? All the afformentioned apps play nice together like that.
I would think this would be grounds for not being accepted in the iTunes store.
I really need some answers because my app is set to go live soon and this will be a game changer if I cannot fix it. I will probably have to try and create it in objective C

It is very unfortunate that there is not a solution to this. It seems that building an audio/music player app via AIR for iOS is not really feasable due to this limitation.
I would think the use case would be larger for my case because typically, when you launch a game on your iPhone, the background audio application stops the music. Or maybe just have a listener that could detect if another app was launched at least, so you could stop your AIR audio by choice. That would be great.
Do you see this as grounds for an audio app being rejected? If the background audio does not stop unless you physically go back into the app and pause it?

LR5 (non-beta) Crashes when going to Slideshow, System Info

LR5 (the final one, not the beta) crashes 100% of the times I try to go to the Slideshow module. It also crashes 100% of the times I try a simple Help/SystemInfo.
I had no such problems with LR3.x and LR4.x, and my system (Win7 64bit) is otherwise perfectly stable and has all the latest patches/updates). The problem occurs even with a "clean" install of LR5 (i.e. without upgrades or migrations from LR4).
As it is, LR5 is unusable for me. HELP.

Hi Ezio,
Just had a quite similar problem, the installed LR5 crashed every few minutes and always when editing or adding custom text to the slideshow. I had the impression it was crashing even more often when using the 2nd screen.
Workaround: I uninstalled and from the unzipped installation folder, I installed manually the 32bit version (on my 64bit Win7). This 32bit installation now works fine so far.
Just try this to get a working installation. Still a pitty for LR5 to be as buggy as this.... did not know this king of issue with LR4.

How can I stop the mail app from moving to the next message when deleting an email?
I like to keep messages as new until I can take action on them, but this just makes an unnecessary step. I do not have this problem on my iPhone, but I am still running 5.0.1 on the phone and have the new iPad 5.1 software.

With regards to deleting messages in Mail, you may find the following portion of the following article helpful:
To prevent the next message from being automatically selected (and marked as read), hold down the Option key when you delete a message.

You can also use Command-Shift-U to toggle a message between Read and Unread (command should be the same in Mavericks):

You can also close the Preview portion of the Mail window, which should then require you to double-click on a message to open it and have it show as read (it appears the double click on the seperator may no longer work in Mavericks, but you should still be able to drag it to make it disappear):

Low audio when going from Xpress Pro to DVD SP

When I output from Avid Xpress Pro to DVD SP I get low audio on the final DVD.
I export my Xpress Pro sequences as QT References with the audio as an AIFF file. I was able to improve the audio a bit by going into APack and converting the AIFF to an AC3 file. Even after boosting all the audio in the sequence (back in Xpress Pro) 10DB it's still not great. Any ideas?

Mix your audio as hot as you can in the Avid...if you are using the -27 Dialogue Normalization setting, you are going to get the levles cut considerably. Use -31 (IIRC) instead...

Audio when going back

I have advanced actions set-up on my slide that if you click a link the current audio stops and a callout appears with that audio. It works just great if I am playing just forward BUT if I rewind/go back it doesnt stop the audio and will play the audio from the callout and the audio from the slide I went back to. How do I prevent this please. Thank you

If you are changing the content of a slide, which you are doing by advanced actions, and you allow to navigate back to that slide, the only way to be sure that everything works as expected is to 'reset' the original content, situation of the slide by using an Advanced Action ON ENTER for that slide. Example: if you are showing objects that were hidden, you have to be sure they are hidden when re-entering the slide on navigating back.
However when providing a default playbar, the user can also navigate by scrubbing the progress bar, instead of using the Back button. In that case you are never sure where the user will be navigating to, it can be in the middle of a slide and in that case the On Enter slide event will not occur, and the 'reset' action will not be executed. That is when you get into problems. Example: a slide start with frame 210 and ends with frame 300. When using the back button, the first frame 210 will be visited and the On Enter action will occur. But when the user scrubs to frame 220, this will not happen.

Crystal Web Viewer executing stored procedure when going to next/prev page

We are using VS.NET 2005 with SP1 to design reports and embed them in an aspnet web app. Some of them take a while to run, even in the designer. In the designer, however, next page and print operations are speedy. In the web viewer, next page and print operations are agonizingly slow.
Viewing page 2 of a report seems to take about as long as viewing page
1. After running SQL Profiler to trace the report, it is apparent that the entire report (Stored Procedure Call) is being re-run and just page 2 is being sent to the browser.
Is this right?
Shouldn't the report document be stored on the server or event the client so that the desired page can be loaded without having to hit the database again??
We are using Business Objects Crystal Reports XI Release 2

It still did not work. As you see my code has the Not Page.IsPostBack. It still goes to the database to run the stored procedure over and over again.
Do an example with more than 100 records to have multiple pages. After you go to page #2, change your data by updating one of your fields that will not fit the criteria you are looking for. In this example I changed the strPeriod from 1 to 2 and it gives you a blank report.

Clicking/popping sound at the beginning of tracks when going to next track

some of my songs have clicking/popping sound at the beginning of the track only when I hit the next track button
if I let the track end the pop/click won't happen
any idea what this is?

Re-import one of the of the problem CDs in a lossless format, such as AIFF or Apple Lossless. Play a little to verify that the tracks are good. Then use iTunes to convert them to AAC.
Verify that those new tracks are good, and if so, you can then discard the lossless versions and keep the AACs.

AJVOAF: Present record is getting is vanished when going for next record

Dear Friends,
In a table region i have 3 LOVs -- Material ,Subinventory and Locator ( I have made Subinventory and Locator LOVs as read only....as per Requirement)
when material lov is clicked it displays material,subventory and locator. (After Material VO extension)
I have succeeded in bringing this subinventory to READ ONLY Subinventory field by default , when material lov is clicked (this is the requirement)
For first time when i click material lov ,iam getting subinventory name in " READ ONLY Subinventory field " by default. ok fine . But for the second time when iam doing the same (clicking Material lov), as usual,iam getting subinventory name in READ ONLY Subinventory field by default ....... BUT the above first record of subinventory is getting vanished .
For the third time when iam doing the same (clicking Material lov), the second record of subinventory is getting vanished. For the fourth time when iam doing the same (clicking Material lov),the third record of subinventory is getting vanished.So now iam able to see only the fourth record only no first,second,third they r getting vanished. How to resolve it.
And when clicking ADD ROWS button in table region it showing error like " ROW 1 MATERIAL - SELECT A VALID VALUE"

Let me give my REQ in detail.
Mine is a stadard page (maintainence user RESP -----stores----one step material issue PAGE) . have 3 LOVs .MATERIAL,SUBINVENTORY ,LOCATOR.
SUBINVENTORY ,LOCATOR. -----------these two i have made read only.
MATERIAL lov itself displays SUBINVENTORY ,LOCATOR also.
So which ever material (say M1) is user is selecting, the corrosponding SUBINVENTORY ( M1-Sub) ,LOCATOR (M1-Loc) should by default come in SUBINVENTORY ,LOCATOR fields which i have made read only.
Similarly when user is selecteing M2 then, corrosponding SUBINVENTORY ( M2-Sub) ,LOCATOR (M2-Loc) should by default come in SUBINVENTORY ,LOCATOR. which i have made read only.
Here iam getting M1 , M1-Sub , M1-Loc properly
But when iam clicking M2 , iam getting M2 , M2-Sub , M2-Loc .BUT at the same time iam loosing M1-Sub , M1-Loc (these 2 fileds are disappering)
for M3 iam loosing M2-Sub , M2-Loc.
for M4 iam loosing M3-Sub , M3-Loc.

Stop non-web subdomains from going to website?

Hello.
I have a number of records set up in DNS for various services. For example, I have sus & calendar records pointing to an Xserve that runs both Software Update and Calendar services. This Xserve also runs Web services.
The thing is, in a web browser, if I enter http://sus.mydomain.com or http://calendar.mydomain.com, the browser loads the website that you'd get if you entered http://www.mydomain.com
How do I stop this?
I thought that if I removed the * entry in the alias tab for my site, then it wouldn't respond to these requests, but that doesn't seem to be the case?

There are two ways of overcoming this problem.
One is to setup virtual hosts for the other hostnames that map to this machine. For these sites set up a dummy home page that does nothing, or configure a redirect to send them back to your www.mydomain.com site.
The other is to use a second IP address on the server and bind the www.mydomain.com site to that address rather than 'any' (and change your DNS, of course). Now the other addresses will map to an IP address that doesn't have a web server listening.

Phone pushing email when set not to when going into phone screen

I have a mysterious thing going on. I have all push notifications turned off and to manually get my email from yahoo. since the 3.0 update when I go into the phone (press the phone button) emails get pushed to the phone. As far as I know I have all the settings off. Anyone have any ideas.

i just spoke with an apple tech and he told me the following:
it is NOT software issue,, but it is a POP email account issue.. he called it pop-lock.
he said it is known to happen with pop accounts and not with imap accounts.. he couldn't explain why it happens,, just that it does.. he eluded to the fact that the email account,,ie, at&t and comcast need to find a fix,, not apple..
and that for some reason 3g and pop accounts will have a greater tendancy for thos pop-lock..
my next troublesoot is to turn of 3g and just run on edge and see if i still get this phantom push.. from his explaination,, i shouldn't

Wallpaper zooming in and out when going to home screen

Whenever I go to my home screen, my wallpapers zooms in and out by itself and it's rather annoying. I want to know if there's a way to stop it form doing it. Is it like an effect or something? How can I turn that off?

I know on Zedge Mortb when i'm previewing Wallpapers they Will pull in & out if i press on the Screen but once i set them as a Permanent picture they no longer do that. Interesting in what the OP has and i have ever tried a Launcher but they do have a Bunch a Settings that you can Change.. b

Quicktime Player wont stretch file when going to full screen

Not used it for a while, but i opened up a movile file in Quicktime player today (for example one of the leopard videos from apple.com), and when i selected Cmd F to run in full screen, the 'movie' file stayed the same size, and put a big black border round it.
It used to stretch fit the whole screen, but not any more!
Is there an option i have missed/messed with which stops the file running in true full (fit) to screen?

I looked at the full screen options, but thought that touching these would have made the movie open in fit to screen mode, which is what i didnt want, i needed them to open in there normal size, then doing the CMD F did full screen and fit to screen automatically (doh!)

FaceTime camera turns off when going to full screen

Hi guys,
both me and my girlfriend have the same issue with FaceTime and Mavericks on MBA 2012: when we start a conversation and switch to full screen, the image disappears. The sound remains, so we can keep talking, but no video. The camera indicator also shuts down.
We have to go back to a window view, then switch again to full screen - then "it just works".
There were no problems in ML before, it just started with Mavericks. My girlfriend has moved to Mavericks first and the problem appeared when she was toggling to fullscreen, I couldn't see her until she switched back to window view, then she could switch again to full screen. She could see me me all the time. When I updated to Mavericks, I got the same issue.
Does anybody have the same problem? Any suggestions how to resolve it?

I see I made an error in my first answer.
The Original post is categorised as iMessages and Messages as well as Using Mavericks and Wifi and Internet.
It then has a tag of FaceTime.
I filter my searches in the Mavericks Community by using the iMessages and Messages Category.
As an iMessages conversation can be used to invoke FaceTime for Video Chat I can see that was what I was thinking about here.
However at the same Time Messages can do Video chats in AIM and Jabber accounts and has it's own windows for that.
I seem to remember an issue with one app not going Full Screen when the window was not "landscape" but more 4:3 or even square in looks.
I don't think that was FaceTime but as the app can display in either Portrait or Landscape it may pay yo switch to Landscape first.
