My issue is, when I login with DE Language, I want to see the German Description for both Storage Location and Plants
When I login with EN, need the descriptions to be in English.

All,
We have a current requirement where we want maintain the storage locations description in both English and French languages and display them based on the user's login language.
SAP ERP as a standard does not provide an option to create description in multiple languages for Storage locations.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

do you mean international adress e.g. with chinese characters and western characters?
you have to activate international adress version first.
when you maintain the storage location adress (by clicking he envelope, you will find a button for international adress in the lower part of the pop-up for the adress .

In SPRO, I need to maintain descriptions for Plants and Storage Locations in 2 Other languages apart from EN.

I tried by seprately loging in in with different Language.
But the descreption changes done in one language overrides the other language.
For ex: Plant Descreption maintained in both EN and FR. When I enter description in FR, even the english descreption changes to FR
Any alternate solutions?

Hi,
There is no Language for the description of the storage locations.
But if you want to maintain the address of storage location in a different language then you can go to address screen and click on internation versions and maintain the address in different location.
In case if you want to cross verify then go to SPRO , open the menu path for the defination of maintain storage location and then on the top menu click on additional information and select technical data and click on language - dependence and the system will give a message saying that there is no table to contain the langauge

Multi Languages - Import Manager

Hi
I like to import some product descriptions in multi languages [DE, FR, IT]. But the problem is, that the source file has more languages as the destination.
How I can exclude languages from import It looks like I have to match all "Source Values" to "destination values"
Value conversion and mapping
DE -> DE
EN -> Nothing
FR -> FR
IT -> IT

Hello Werner,
Pivoting is a possible solution, but much easier is using "NULL Interpretation". In IM on the "Map Fields" Tab you have mapped the language from the source to the destination language field. In the "Destination fields" grid use the right mouse button menu -> "Set NULL Interpretation" an set it to "ignore". Now in the "Source values" grid set all language values to NULL that you don't want to import. Then you can map all NULL languages to any language in the "Destination values" grid, they will be ignored during the import because of th NULL interpretation. This way you have all values mapped and the import can be done!

Storage location code should come in PR/PO

Whenever I am creating a PR or PO,I want storage location code should come instead of storage location description in storage location field. System picks this storage location from MRP2 view of the material.
How do I achieve this?

to display the key..
in the transaction..either ME51N or ME21N..
there is a Icon called Personal setting..after clicking the same you have a window opened ..in this in the Basing setting tab..in the section conversions
click on the Display key check box..
then the respective keys would come.
Note--this would effect for the Plant and Storage location both and is ID dependent and has to be done individually for IDs for which they want this setting.

Description of key figure for multi language support issue.

Custom key figure description multi for the language support issue
The key figure is created in English language and description also in English.
When I have logged in to English language and checked the report in Bex ,description of key figure is available.
But when I log in to other language(German, Spanish Portuguese and etc) environment the description in Bex rport of key figure is showing blank
In rsa1 in both English and other(German, Spanish Portuguese and etc) environments key figure description is okay and correctly displaying.
Please post me your inputs on the same.

This are the key figures XPRECIO: Transactional Price and XPRECLIST: Price list, its maintained in RSA1 tcode at info object level .
These two KF descriptions are maintained in English, its working fine when I login into SAP Bex analyzer with English language and its not showing the description for the languages (German, Spanish, Portuguese and etc).
Its need to be displayed in when login into SAP Bex analyzer with language German, Spanish, Portuguese and etc.

Multi language description of data types - xsd export

Hi,
with PI 7.1 there is a new feature for multi language field description (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/9f/fdd13fa69a4921e10000000a1550b0/content.htm) in the repository.
If you change the display language, the description language is also changed.
If you want to export the XSD of the data type, the description in XSD depends on the display language.
Does anybody knows a way to export a XSD with both language description.
I remember seen a XSD with the xml:lang tag.

yes. Hence you should be able to get away with manually removing the secondary language packs. There is however a slight chance that some Ids have no displaystring in the primary language pack.

Multi Language Description and Long description update.

I would like to know the possible ways to upload the description and long description in multiple languages for the existing items in mass. For newly created items, we can enter the data in language form tied to the description.
Is it possible to do with APC WebADI.? or any other suggestion would be highly appreciable.

i am using this bapi method to copy materials from one plant to another plant using storage location so here what happenig is everyting is going correct but only the storage location data is not saving in table mard so any body faced this kind of problem please tell me.... and one more dbt
bapi_marcx-pur_status = 'x' what is 'X' here??? is that mandatory field or required field ???

In the HEADDATA structure, STORAGE_VIEW should also be set as 'X' , in order to update storage location data
for example
BAPI_HEAD-STORAGE_VIEW = 'X'.
Also, PUR_STATUS corresponds to field MARA-MSTAE whose domain has value table T141, therefore values in the field are checked against T141

BEX Multi-Language SQL Query

1) I have created a BEX Master Data Query on 0MATERIAL. The Material Master Object also has a text table associated with it called /BI0/TMATERIAL. It has text in French and in English. We also have the "Language Dependent" box checked on the 0Material Info Object.
2) When I log into BW in FRENCH and execute the query, the FRENCH text are returned back in the result set in BEX Excel. Conversely when I log into BW in ENGLISH and execute the query, the ENGLISH text are returned back in the result set in BEX Excel.
QUESTION
How can I view the SQL or locate how BEX queries the /BI0/TMATERIAL table with the current LANGU of "FR" or "EN" depending upon my login. I have tried debugging in RSRT but no luck.
What I am trying to understand behind the scenes how SAP handles and obtains the correct text in a multi-language environment.

how your getting which ever language you login corresponding language decription only , because i have the same requirement where i should pull the data from 0vendor , but here if i log in through Japanees i am getting japanees and the other languages as weel , but the difference is only i can see japanees vendor descriptions in japanees only but for other languages i can see in description place also the KEY
ex: vendor       description
