I am using sql server db. I would like to store image into
db. How can i store image into db and read it after that.

Unless there is a compelling reason for storing the image in
the database, I'd suggest you store the image in an image directory
and store the filename of the image in the database. For example,
if you store myImage.jpg into a directory named imageDir, you can
store the filename "myImage.jpg" in the database. To display the
image, retrieve it as the variable showImage and display it using
<IMG SRC="imageDir\#showImage#" ... >

Need help on interface to store images into oracle database using forms 6i
i am using forms 6i and oracle 8i. i am able to store .jpg and other picture files into data base.now my problem is how show and store the CAD/CAM drawings using forms. can any one help me please. is higher version is providing any new facility for this purpose?

I am using Flash Builder 4.6, BlazeDS, and Hibernate. How to store a webcam snapshot into the MySql Database. I stored Form Items by using RemoteObject into the database. But I failed to store webcam snapshot. I captured that image on Panel component.I converted that image to ByteArray. Now I want to save that image into the database. Please help me in this regard.

Can I store RTF file with image into CLOB?
I have created a WORD template document with company logo heading and format. I have to replace the 'user name', 'date' etc. data every time before I insert into my database. Therefore I store the template doc as RTF format.
1. Can I insert this doc (RTF with image) into CLOB or I have to store it in BLOB?
2. I want to store in CLOB because I sometimes have to change to content of the doc with replace statement. Actually, can I replace a string in BLOB too?I understand RTF is a binary format and so needs to be stored as a BLOB.
The DBMS_LOB paackage contains procedures like INSTR() and WRITE() that may do what you what. Take them for a test drive.

I've been researching this problem (saving images in a MySQL database) in order to accomplish a task I was assigned to. Finally I was able to do it. I'd be glad if it will be of any use.
First of all: the original question was related to an applet. So, the post from rkippen should be read. It says almost everything, leaving the code job for us. Since I managed to write some code, I'll put it here, but I'm not dealing with the byte transferring issue.
To obtain a byte array from a file I'd open the file with FileInputStream and use a loop to read bytes from it and save them into a ByteArrayOutputStream object. The ByteArrayOutputStream class has a method named �toByteArray()� which returns an array of bytes (byte [] b = baos.toByteArray()) that can be transferred in a socket connection, as said by rkippen.
My problem was to save an image captured by a web camera. I had an Image object, which I converted into a byte array and saved into the database. Eventually I had to read the image and show it to the user.
The table in the MySQL database could be:

1. Create an HTML form where the image field will be <input type="file">. You also
need the file MIME type .
2. Create a procedure receiving the form parameters. The file field will be a Varchar2
parameter, because you receive the image path not the image itself.
3. Insert the image file into table using "Create directory NAME as IMAGE_PATH" and
then use "Insert into TABLE (consecutive, BLOB_OBJECT, MIME_OBJECT) values (sequence.nextval,
EMPTY_BLOB(), 'GIF' or 'JPEG') returning BLOB_OBJECT, consecutive into variable_blob,

I want to store a JPG image into database column through Servlet
and dispaly it on a JSP page through Beans
how can i ?Any requests made to a JSP are of a certain content. Generally you make a request to a JSP page it sends back a "text/html" document. There is noi binary data as such just text.
Images on a page are displayed because the "src" attribute of the image tag points to a server location. This in turn returns content of type "image/*".
A servlet can retrieve/generate your images for you for example you could point to a servlet:
<img src="/system/imageServlet">
I guess a JSP can do the same (I've never tried it) just remember to set the response.contentType to "image/gif"/"image/jpg".....

Can't drag or import images into iPhoto
For some reason, I can't drag images into iPhoto or importing by going to "Add t olibrary"
As opposed to many people I have no problems draggin in jpgs from my computer, but I can't bring in images that iPhoto has sored from my didigtal camera.
In other words, when I import pictures from my digital camera (a regular Sony camera) it imports them no problem, and then stores them in separate folders. But if I ever want to grab images from those folders and drag them back into iPhoto it won't let me.Try making a direct shortcut to the Organizer and then the Editor.
You should then be able to drag and drop on to the desktop icon.
On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file “PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails - could be different in PSE5 but look for the exe file)
Select it and click OK
Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application.

Inserting Image into BLOB field from URL
Is it possible to insert an image into a BLOB field from a URL? I don't have access to the filesystem on the server and I have a page that uses PL/PDF to generate dynamic PDF files from data I pull from the database. I would like to include my companies official header with logo on the top of the PDFs I generate and need to somehow get the image which I currently have uploaded to the images section in Application Express and can access from the "Shared Components => Images" section of the Application Builder. I just want to be able to either query whatever table holds those images or copy the image I need to a blob field in one of my tables so I can use it in my PDF document.
The other alternative (which is what I first mentioned above) would be to try and perform an insert into the BLOB field in my table but the location of the image file would be like "http://www.myportal.com:7777/pls/htmldb/wwv_flow_file_mgr.get_file?p_security_group_id=1234567&p_flow_id=111&p_fname=myimage.jpg".
Is this possible? If not, what can I do?
Thanks in advance.The reason why I am asking this question in this forum is two-fold:
1. I am using Application Express (AE).
2. Since I am using AE all images that I upload to my workspace are stored in a table in a database and not as an actual file in a directory structure like in Windows etc. This being the case, I can't ever reference any of the files that I upload to my workspace in order to insert them into my BLOB field unless I know their physical location on disk (which of course does not exist b/c they are stored in the AE database somewhere). If I knew AE's database and table structure I could do a "select into ..." from whatever table stores my uploaded images and save those images to my own custom table in my BLOB field. -

How to store images in database and retrieve them back to page?
Well I don't know how to store an image file to a database (say MSSQL) from the JSP and retrieve it back whenever needed and put it on the JSP page? Please help me.
I am not sure how to store images in database but what you can do is store the image into particular folder using FileOutputStream and its unique name into the database...and than retrieve it from the folder using that name retrieved from database...
