Strange - on one blade, /OVS is mounted twice

Oracle VM 2.1.2
On a 5 blade HP C3000 Enclosure, I'm trying to provide the shared /OVS file system. On 4 of the blades, OCFS is working correctly. Strangely, on one of the blades, despite an identical /etc/fstab, after booting, /OVS is mounted twice:

To my best knowledge, fstab is the only file defining filesystems to be mounted upon startup.
When I umount /OVS, the unwanted mount is removed, leaving the proper one. When I try to establish HA using VM Manager, the unwanted /OVS reappears....
On this blade, for a first quick test before setting up OCFS2, I've set up (and deleted thereafter) a VM Server (Server Pool Master, Utility Server, Virtual Machine Server). Maybe the unwanted mount of /dev/cciss/c0d0p3 stems from this trial? Is there another file that could cause the unwanted mount?

Alas, no success, see my steps and results below....
After that, I've found a thread that sounds promising - [ovs-onlinerepo not working with multipath environment |http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=843783]. I realize I havn't mentioned multipath yet - sorry if this was crucial information.
Anyway, I will check the solution path out and come back with outcome....
==> Quick update: Multipath does cause the problem. Commented /etc/multipath.conf out, booted.......and /OVS mounts like a dream. Haven't done the

DMG mounting twice and launching when finder opens

Dear All,
I have 2 problems concerning dmg's.....
1) I have a dmg that keeps being mounted when i open finder. I've tried editing/deleting the com.apple.finder.plist from the User/Library/Preferences folder and it keeps returning. The mounting occurs independent of which folder your opening. Of the 31 dmg's i've built, this only happens with 1 file. I've completely rebuilt the file including the read/write file and it still happens.
2) After a dmg has been compressed, when run, it mounts twice ......1 when you double click the dmg to launch and the second time when the window opens. According to the mounts info, the first mounting is the dmg, the second mounting is the original read/write version i have. These are my first mac installers.....and I'm guessing this double mount behaviour is not normal.
Any information would be greatly received.

I had the same issue.
There seemed to have been a script running in the background that kept mounting the drive when I was creating an dmg. How I resolved my issue was go to the terminal and type
ps auxwww | grep master
this will list all instance that are running. If you see scripts that you where running in terminal just kill that process
sudo kill -9 "process id"

Can one ODI procedure be used twice with different option in one package?

I have a procedure with three check box type options. This procedure is used twice in a package. I tried to set options differently in the package, but once I set up the options for the second call, the first one will be updated to the same as the second one automatically. Is the option supposed be used as parameter? If it is true, why I cannot call procedure twice by using two different parameter settings?

Create two scenarios of the same procedure. While generating scenarios change the options as necessary. Then in the package call the scenarios instead of the procedure. That should work.

OVS not mounting OVMM repository automatically

We had 11 nodes OVS 3.2.8 setup with HA enabled and discovered by OVMM 3.2.8. It is also integrated with ZFS appliance. Everything is good and works well. After we added another OVS node [becomes 12 nodes], but when we bounce 12th node, the OVMM repository is not automatically mount [when we log into OVMM -> repository tab-> present the 12th OVS server to access repository and it gets mount]. How to automatically mount the OVMM repository without doing manually logging into OVMM? These remaining 11 nodes does automatically mount the OVMM repository without logging into OVMM.
Any clue to fix this for only 12th OVS node.

As far as I understand this issue, agent has correct entry in its local database so it should attempt to mount it automatically upon agent start-up. This is stated in a /usr/sbin/agtctl python script which is called from /etc/init.d/ovs-agent. Then the code points to function mount_repositories() which is defined in /usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/agent/lib/files.py and later on uses linux "mount" command as coded in /usr/lib64/python2.6/site-packages/agent/lib/linux.py. Moreover it should report error if mount did not succeeded. So it is really weird that it is not mounted and there is no error in /var/log/ovs-agent.log.
I'd try to manually mount this repository after server restart using command (you need to use your real uuids):
# mount -t ocfs2 /dev/mapper/3600144f0a9dxxxxxxxxxxxx82000a /OVS/Repositories/0004fb0000030000xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxba

When I minimize ff with several tabs I can maxamize the one I was on straight away but any other one I have to click twice, why?

when I minimize my ff with several tabs it goes to my task bar with a number of shadows equal to the tabs I have opened if I mouse over it I get small previews of the tabs open and I can open the one I was on last straight away but if I click on any other I get a beep and then nothing so I have to do the same thing again before it will open to a different tab, why?

Odd thing when ff is maximized and I go to the preview in the windows task bar I can click on any tab and it will open right away it's only when ff is minimized that I have to click twice. fyi I have tab previews checked and I have tried to unset it the reset it to see if that would help but no go.

V570 LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD: Mainboard replaced twice, overheating, broken HDMI. And that's typical!

Hello. From very beginning, shortly after purchase, V570 overheated (80-90 degrees Celsius, with screen shots of core temps as proof). Problem went on for several months, burning leg at one point. I called tech support, no call back and no repair scheduled. Kept notes, dates and times of all contact.
I had purchased next day on-site repair service for three years. So when no one called back about problem after ten days, I called back and raised a little pleasant ruckus. Got some action.
On-site tech installed more powerful fan. Helped out with high temps. Tech recommended motherboard to be replaced, since it was probably fried from overheating.
Then, the HDMI port no longer worked. Lenovo took more than a week on this repair. Parts were sent to a technician who was no longer in business, so parts were in Fed Ex limbo. I spent 10 hours on phone (5 hours to the Philippines) trying to straighten out the mess.
Problem escalated. No one from North Carolina or Texas ever calls back. No. Call. Back.
You can imagine my trust factor with Lenovo is zero now.
New mainboard installed. Works fine. Tech leaves. Two hours later, screen is completely black. Nothing. Dead darkness dead dead. Cannot power on. No tricks with power button, recovery button or anything else working.
Called support again about dead machine. Sending out another mainboard for another repair. I do research and realized this is the bad bad bad motherboard that *everyone* here is complaining about. Lots of other dead black screens from it. So, again another two hours on the phone.
Then, I call tech in Philippines back, and say, hey, this is the mainboard that is riddled with problems -- I really do not want to go through this again. They recommend another mainboard, but it's a slower one -- an i5 dual core instead of quad core.
At this point, we're three or four mainboards in, in terms of repairs that have happened and parts coming, on a machine less than a year old.
At what point does Lenovo make the financial or business decision that the best option is to replace the machine rather than paying for four motherboards and on-site repairs?
And, BTW, when I pay hundreds of dollars for a 3-year on-site next-business-day repairs, I mean ON-SITE, NEXT BUSINESS DAY. That's what my contract says, in writing -- I've got it in front of me. That doesn't mean 2-3 business days that all the techs are saying to me.
I've even had several techs say I need to send in my machine, and I say, uh, I have on-site repair, and they say they "need to get approval" to authorize on-site service. **bleep**??
This is the worst customer service and the poorest machines I've ever encountered.
I also have a 2-month old y570, that arrived with a broken battery bay and still the touchpad is as stiff and unusable
as Day One. Both the lower housing/battery bay and the touchpad have to be replaced or repaired.
I'm gathering that others are having as many problems with their machines as I am having with mine. And even when you pay for good service -- you don't get it.
IdeaPads bear no resemblance to the greatness of ThinkPads or the IBM of yesteryear.
Lenovo, please help.

Unfortunately, the carrier that you purchased it from is where your warranty channel is. I wish I had a better answer but that is how the system works.
As I mentioned, even if you are within the warranty period and with the same carrier, the warranty is probably void since the device has been disassembled and repaired--they can tell when it's been apart. I've heard of this mirrored issue before and it's usually a hardware problem, as you've already been made aware of by the repair facility you took it to.
I hate to say it but you are probably out of luck on this one. Wish I had something better to tell you.

Sometimes ( we can't trace the trigger) we're experiencing wird behavior of the Thunderbird
All of the sudden cursor in editor (text input areas) starts to run back, as one would hold left/back/ arrow.
First thought was it is a virus, but apparently there is none.
at that time In left folder menu: when selected folder tree starts to collapse to root (sub-folders can not be accessible)
in drop-down menu: when selected, it starts to move to another drop-down continuously
if we restart application, problem is still there, only if we restart the computer, we can use thunderbird again until next time problems appears.

This one is very strange. One track from album won't import...

I have been trying to import a CD I own for a long time. I'd hoped that getting my new Mac might have solved this problem but...
The CD in question is fine,. it works and imports OK, in totality, in my partners account. It plays fine in my account. However when I try to import the album into my iTunes library every song except for one will import. The one song which won't import is my favourite from the album, sods law. I have tried every which way to import both the whole album and the single track on it's own to no avail.
I can delete the whole album and re-import it. During the import process iTunes tells me the track is being imported and goes through all the motions but when all is said and done the track does not appear anywhere in my iTunes library. Believe me I have searched for it both in iTunes and the Finder and it is not there! If you look in the folder in the Finder for the album every track is there correctly numbered etc. Except track 12 is skipped and ain't there, it goes from 11 to 13.
This is driving me up the proverbial wall. Please if anyone can offer any advice I will be very grateful...

maybe a long shot but it won't hurt trying:
check if you have read & write permissions for your iTunes music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
you may also give everyone read & write access. if this doesn't help, try the same on your iTunes folder (not just the iTunes music folder).
now try to import the track again.
if still no joy, this might be a workaround:
create a new admin user account on your machine, log into that, fire up iTunes there, and try importing the CD. if it works, move track 12 in the finder to <MacintoshHD>/users/shared.
log out and back into your usual account. in iTunes there, choose +add to library+ and navigate to the shared folder.

Disk images now mount twice!

Recently, each time I eject a mounted disk image it disappears for a second then remounts again. Ejecting it a second time always does the trick. What can be going on here?

Oracle VM Server 2.2.1 - Extra mount options for /OVS

we would like to know how to add extra mount options (rw,hard,intr,tcp,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,timeo=600) to /OVS in Oracle VM 2.2.1.
In version 2.1.5 and lower it was possible by adding those options together with the UUID in /etc/ovs/repositories.options
How to manage mount options in Oracle VM 2.2.1? I've tried the same and no success.

In the above report one GL account is appearing twice (The acct name SMALL DIFFERENCES ACCT) in the section of TOTAL COST OF SALES AND TOTAL SUNDRY & GENERAL

You have not mention that which report like Z report or standard one.
However, if it is Z report, the GL may be grouped twice in the report. and ask your ABAP team to find from where it is getting value. So that, it is easy to track why it is appearing twice in the report.
If it is standard report, check your FSV for the correct grouping.

Instead, one of my articles displays twice, so it looks like this:

Mount disk before running app through one shortcut

There's a game i have on my mac which needs the disc to run, but i don't want to have to put it in the drive every time so i created a DMG which i have set to mount on startup which is ok, but not ideal.
What i'd like to do is to find some way of creating one shortcut which will mount the drive and run the game straight away. I have pretty much 0 knowledge of automator and only started using OS X last week
any help would be fantastic

Hmm...pretty sure you could do this through applescript.
I'm not sure how you would run the application, but this would be how you mount it.
tell application "Finder"
do shell script "hdiutil attach /yourgame.dmg"
end tell
You must put your dmg file into your root directory for this to work
Maybe add something to run the game after it mounts.
If you don't know what applescript is, just search "script editor" in spotlight, then paste in the script.
Sorry I couldn't be more of a help, maybe someone else can add on to my answer to make it run the game too : /.

Trouble with mounted partitions (root twice)

Since a few days ago, I'm experiencing troubles with my partitions, like / being mounted twice. I'm using systemd instead of Init, mtab is symlinked to /proc/self/mounts

my partition layout inherit from the time where I had both Windows and Arch Linux installed (so I was low on free primary partitions) is: sda1 350 GB ext4, sda3 8 GB swap, sda4 98 GB ext4. So I have no /home and / in different partitions as sda1 is where I have all my data.

So, my troubles here are:
/ is mounted twice, and /tmp is not being cleaned. Any clue on this?
Also, to me, my/proc/self/mounts seems weird, aside from the fact that I think there is why / is mounted twice. Could someone check that?

The only place I have found that is on my /boot/burg/burg.cfg file:
linux /boot/vmlinuz26-pf root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/11331a92-bb2a-4aa2-a376-de9c2d12d6a3 ro fastboot quiet logo.nologo resume=/dev/sda3 init=/sbi/e4rat-preload
But as far as I can remember, that has been always there since I started using burg instead of grub (half of a mont ago, maybe more). And never got troubles with that.
Also, rc.local has everything comented out
EDIT: have I to assume that the burg entry is leading to troubles?
