Strange problem since changing some settings Connection Pool

Since changing the following settings in my connection pool, I have been seeing strange behavior with an application that has been deployed for over a year.
<br><br>
The settings I changed were the following:
<br><br>
Maximum Capacity: Changed from 25 to 100<br>
Statement Cache Size: Changed from 10 to 200<br>
Shrink Frequency: Changed from 900 to 300<br>
Connection Reserve Timeout: Changed from 10 to 5<br>
Maximum Waiting for Connection: Changed from 2147483647 to 50
<br><br>
I was wondering if anyone had any comments on these settings as well as any insight as to why I am seeing the results of a prepared statement
<br>
<b>("select count(*) from event where event_id = ?" )</b>
<br>
come back as <u>0</u> for the user that just created a record a few minutes before. At the same time another user can log in to the application and cause the same query to run and they get a count of <u>1</u> for the record the other user just created. Then if I restart Weblogic both users get a count of <u>1</u>
<br><br>
Driver 9.0.2.0.0<br>
Weblogic 8.1.3.0

try
select * from v$session where lower(module) like 'jdbc%';if you don't find .... so... no connection from jdbc...
Because when jdbc pool ... start.... It should create connection ... hold on database.

• I updated the kmp player a few days before. It changes some settings on my firefox

I updated the kmp player a few days before. I believe that It changes some settings on my firefox or more.
It changed my home page. Also, every time I reopen firefox, it cannot show my windows and tabs from last time.
Then I removed or stopped using the plug-ins in firefox (one of them is npAPI) that installed that day, changed the setting back to what I want.
I can then get the home page back, but the problem that I cannot get my previous tabs when I open firefox back still exists.
I have updated firefox to 25.0 today.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

I had a Microsoft tech access my computer remotely to resolve issues with my hotmail acct. There were files that needed to be deleted and he also changed some settings.
Later, when I tried to open InDesign I received the following error:
AMT Subsystem Failure
The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support.
I rebooted the computer and tried again:
Licensing for this product has stopped working.
You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.
I can access Acrobat and MS Office programs, it's just the CS3 programs that I can't access. Can I uninstall and then reinstall CS3 without an access (un-lock) code?

Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

Yes you solved your own question, use printer handles color, whcih shodul have been the default. If you do want to experiment with Photohsop manages color, try the CMYK profiles, and send a cmyk file. Only exception is if you print to one of the few RGB printers like a lambda.

• WRT54G v8: Unable to change some settings via the browser interface

I have a WRT54G V8 router which I'm trying to set up as a wireless access point.
I purchased it some time ago and flashed the firmware to version 8.00.2. I see there
is a newer firmware version available, and I'm going to try flashing that to see if it
helps, but wanted to ask here first.
The problem is that when I connect to the router using a web browser, I can see
the administration pages, and even change most settings, but some settings
just snap back to their previous values.
For example, I go to Setup -> Advanced Routing, and change Operating Mode
from Gateway to Router. When I do, I see it changes to Router, then I see it
talking to the HTTP server, and then it changes back to Gateway.
This also happens in other areas, like trying to enable MAC address filtering -
it won't let me enable it, and the Security Mode setting (under Wireless -> Wireless
Security) - It won't let me select WPA2 Personal, among others.
Note that I've had this router for a while, but decided to change how it was configured
today, so I started by pressing and holding the reset button for >5sec to reset it to
factory defaults and went from there.
I'm assuming there must be some settings which are preventing these from taking,
but I can't imagine any setting which should prevent me from enabling the MAC
address filtering.
Just in case this matters, I have the router connected to my in-home network using
one of the 4 Ethernet ports, and don't have anything plugged into the Internet port.
Also, I have turned off the DHCP server, and assigned a static IP address to the
router. This is the IP I'm using to connect to the router's administrative pages via
a browser running on one of the other PCs on my in-home network.
The wireless access point is working, in that I can connect to my in-home network
with my wireless client (laptop).
Can anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,

Thanks, Yes, I did reset the router. Just to clarify:
- I was having the problem where making changes to some settings would cause the settings to revert back to the original settings. In fact, the settings would switch back before I would have a chance to click on the Save Settings button. Clicking on the button after the settings changed back, of course, saved the original setting. For example, I would click on a drop-down control to change a setting, see the browser communicate with the HTTP server, then the drop-down would just snap back to the original value. It wouldn't allow me to change it to a different value.
- I reset the router, including holding the reset button for >5 seconds to force a full-reset. This didn't help.
- I attempted to update the firmware with the latest version for my router (yes, I double-checked that I had the correct version for my router/version). This failed with a strange message and required that I do another reset of the router.
It was after this failed attempt at the update that the problem went away. Now, I am able to change these particular settings and the changes stick.
At this point, I updated the firmware to the latest version and it worked. After this, I am still able to make all the necessary setting changes and the router is performing as I need.
Thanks for all the help,

• Computer slower and a few other strange problems since upgrading to SL

Hi all,
About a month ago, I upgraded my mid-2009 MBP to SL. I'm now on 10.6.1. Ever since the upgrade, my computer's been somewhat slower than it was when I ran Leopard (although many people I know say their machines are faster). I did restart several times at one point, and that seemed to speed it up, although it still experiences delays I didn't have before. I've also had a bunch of strange issues:
1) Safari is most noticeably slow, especially when using something like Top Sites on Safari 4. I alleviated this problem somewhat by setting new tabs to open a blank window rather than Top Sites, but even so, Safari is generally slower, gives me 'pinwheels' often, and also is less stable.
2) The other day, I restarted to find that all fonts except system fonts had been mysteriously deactivated. As a designer, I rely heavily on my many fonts, which I manage using Linotype FontExplorer.
3) Today, I opened my computer up after having it sleeping in a backpack, and it had turned off. It was not out of battery; it had just turned off for no apparent reason.
4) Judging by Activity Monitor, RAM is being used somewhat more heavily by the system, contrary to the advertisements of a 'lighter' footprint for SL as compared to Leopard. However, according to Activity Monitor (which I check frequently), the processor does not appear to be getting taxed any more heavily than under Leopard, which makes the sluggishness more inexplicable.
5) Yesterday, I could not get my computer to recognize my Time Machine backup disc. After restarting, it worked, but this is a pain.
I appreciate any advice I can get. Does anyone else have similar problems or solutions? Or is the general consensus that these are SL bugs that Apple will work out by about 10.6.4 or so?
Thanks,
Nathan

I began this thread awhile ago, but the essence of it is that I had a number of strange problems, although mostly my computer was just slower, when upgrading from Leo to SL.
I've now wiped my HD and re-installed SL. It seems faster, although there are still a few issues:
1) iWork (Pages, Numbers) has very weird coloring. All the text looks light blue and/or cyan, and I can't fix it.
2) Although initially Safari worked great, lately it's been going back to its habits of being slow and showing strange things like chopping up the 'Top Sites' view, i.e. rendering it in an off way.
3) Adobe CS3 will not install properly. I get them loaded up, but when I try to launch a program, I get an error that says "licensing for this product has stopped working". I cannot get to the 'activate' page, even though I uninstalled and deactivated CS3.
In the interest of full disclosure, I did restore my home account after clean installing SL-- maybe I should have brought the files over folder by folder rather than bringing back my whole home folder with its settings? I wonder if I accidentally brought over Adobe's FLEXnet folder too.
Also, does anyone know if Adobe CS3 can cause these problems with Safari and other programs? It just seems that the whole machine was slower after installing CS3, even though I wasn't running the programs.
Any help is appreciated.
Nate

• I am trying to change some settings in my Apple and I do not remember my security question answers. When I click on sent a reset email, an old email address (no longer accessible ) comes up. This email address is nowhere in my profile. Ideas??

I want to change some security settings in my Apple ID and it asks to answer some security questions that I have no clue why I am answering them wrong. So then I check off send a reset email to change them and the email address comes up with an old email address I no longer can access. That email address is nowhere in my profile! My profile has 3 email address that are active but not this one. HELP... Thank you so much beforehand

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to call, fill out and submit this form.

• Airport Time Capsule Problems Since Snow Leopard - Loses Connections

I did a straightforward install of Snow Leopard on the iMac 24 and it went fine. I have very few apps on it so nothing weird running to cause two issues:
1 - Time Machine backups to a Time Capsule have become slow and unreliable. Also, even 10-100 MB file transfers to a MacBook Pro 17", also on Snow Leopard, took the longest time.
2 - The Airport/WiFi icon will often go from being a static icon with full signal to one in which each curved concentric level bar flashes one by one up from the bottom dot to the topmost arc, and then back down, and back and forth. This often happens in the middle of Time Capsule backups. Holding down the mouse on the icon shows my network still connected, but the backup fails, and any web page attempted will also report there is no network.
I wonder if others have had similar problem(s).
Imran

I am also having very strange problems with 10.6.1 and TC. The network disconnects for no apparent reason, frequently. It seems to be tying up both of the phone lines too, because once the TC reconnects to the network, the telephone no longer works (it says "line busy" and remains that way until and unless I unplug the TC). Plugging directly into the cable modem works fine, no problems at all with the telephones or with the network disconnecting at random. All three macs on my home network (macbook, MBPro and iMac) are updated to 10.6.1. At first I thought the problem might have been the modem itself but it works fine; it's only when the TC is connected that the weirdness happens.

The issue may not be related to the number of connections or the initial
connections. Check your heap size (ms, mx). Turn on verbosegc. Your heap may
not be big enough to accept the 25,000 rows.

We are creating the result set with 25000 rows(each row has 56 columns) bygetting the connection using data source. With the initial capacity of the
connection pool is 5 and the max capacity as 30 and grow connection as 1,
the server gets out of memory exception, when we issue a new request, even
after closing the previous connections.
Now, if we change the initial capacity to 1 and rest all the things assame, the issue gets resolved and the server works fine.
Could you please help me out in this regard????

• After changing some settings I have to log in everywhere all the time!

HELP! I followed the advise of Mozilla Support and changed some (privacy) settings because I kept having trouble with Adobe Flash Player that wouldn't run.
Now I have to log in EVERY TIME on my email and other accounts, even if I've told them to 'remember me'
I want to change that back again, but don't know where and how!

To be more precise, if you are use "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear the Cookies
*do not clear the Site Preferences
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, passwords, and other website specific data.

• Change EBS OLTP Connection Pool

Hello,
I recently installed and configured OBIEE+ (v. 10.1.3.4.0) and OBIAPPS with ODI (v. 7.9.5.2.) that points to one demo eBS instance. Now, I would like to change the OLTP source to another eBS instance. I tried to find a guide to do just that but was unable. If anybody knows the steps to do this I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know if its OK just to change the connection pool in the admin tool, and in ODI, and overwrite the DWH or thing wont go that easy?
Thanks for your answers,
Luka

I now realized there is a forum for BIAPPS so I kindly ask the moderator to move this question to that forum.

• Nokia C3-01 Email problem since changing sim

A year ago I bought a Nokia C3-01 from 3 and accessed my hotmail via the mail option in messaging without a problem. I have since had Three unlock my phone using the unlock code and I've now put in a Tesco Mobile sim. The internet is working fine but when I select mail now it asks me to accept the terms of the service which i select "accept" and it then asks me to select internet connection.
The options I get are my home Wireless internet and below is Default AP. It then says "Checking for mail service updates" and then reports a communication failure.
What is wrong?

The options are "Read First" or "Accept". Read first goes to a website with the terms and conditions on.
I suspect(I could well be wrong) it may be that I'm lacking the Access point details for TescoMobile. If I go to settings then configuration and select "Preferred access point" there's a "3" one I can select but none for TescoMobile.
I've had them resend me the Internet settings twice today which they did and I got them fine but no change.

• Changed regional settings - connection pane dissapears

I use Version 2.1.1.64 Build MAIN-64.45 on Win XP SP3.
I have changed my windows locale to Luxembourg (control panel -> regional and language options). After that when i run Oracle SQL Developer, connection pane does not show up. After I reverted locale settings back to United States and restarted Oracle SQL Developer, everything got back to normal.
This looks like a bug in that software.

Yes, AFAIK happens in all versions. Some ("rare") locales just don't work.
The more logical workaround instead of changing your system wide settings would be add this to \sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.conf:
AddVMOption -Duser.region=USHope that helps,
K.

• I changed some settings and my internet doesnt work

So this morning I was playing around with my routers settings that I accessed thru 192.168.1.1. The only change I made was to allow public LAN. Now I'm not quite sure what that means (so obviously shouldn't have played with it). But previously my network did broadcat and it did not have a password. So after I allowed public LAN, my Internet connection switched to limited connectivity and I can't get my Internet back. I have tried multiple restarts and disabled ipv6, updated my wireless card settings and nothing I do works. I also tried to modify my Internet settings thru the Internet at 192.168.1.1, but it won't connect with limited connectivity and remote access to the router is disabled
What can I do to get my Internet back?
I have windows vista- lenovo/IBM T61- westell router(not sure what type)- verizon internet

Reset your router. There should be a reset button on it somewhere. This will bring it back to the default settings and it should start working again, or at least make it so you can access it via 192.168.1.1 to configure it.
