Strange vacation message/group email problem

I have setup a vacation message for [email protected] to forward mail to [email protected] which is then filtered into a folder, all works fine.
If a message is sent to user and cc'd to user2 the message only appears in the folder setup for user2, not in user's inbox. This is also true if an internal group mail is sent and both user and user2 are included.
User2 was receiving group mails and message/cc combinations before the vacation rule was setup. Emailing user2 direct is also fine.
Anyone have any ideas?

Group email problem

I have created a group in address book - all valid email addresses etc. When I attempt to send to group, nothing happens. Tried to send to individual members BCC (do not want to spray people's addresses about) and the system seems to corrupt the addresses, putting at either end and including their names in "" - all of which causes Mail to say that the address is not valid. Any ideas how to fix this one?

I have quite a bit of experience with this, as I have been supporting the 250,000 users of our "MailShot Pro" group email app every day for several years, and I am pretty sure the problem is with Comcast.
A number of our customers have told us that they were unable to send email to larger groups using their Comcast accounts, but as soon as they swapped to sending from a free iCloud.com or Gmail.com account, the problem disappeared. I am therefore pretty sure the problem lies with Comcast's anti-spam routines.
One other, less-likely, possibility which I have seen myself with Yahoo, is that some mail servers may reject an entire email silently if there is one wrong email address on the same "@" domain that you are sending from.

Set vacation message error

Hi, I am using the below version:
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.2-8.04 (built Feb 28 2007)
libimta.so 6.2-8.04 (built 19:28:07, Feb 28 2007)
SunOS webmail1.tm.net.my 5.10 Generic_118833-24 sun4v sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-T200
I am unable to set the vacation message in uwc with the following error:
An error occurred while updating mail preferences
This function works before, older user still be able to set vacation message with no problem.

Are you able to update the vacation message for the problem user using the Messenger Express interface instead - this will help to isolate the potential cause?
-Can't access messenger express interface
Do you see an errors in the webserver error logs when you attempt to save the preference, or if you have UWC logging enabled, in the uwc.log file?
-There is no error messages in webserver error log, in uwc.log there are some messages but I do not think it helps.

Have you upgraded anything recently (e.g. upgraded directory server, patched UWC), or changed UWC domain level parameter?

Vacation Message using old/incorrect data

I have a mail server that refuses to accept a new vacation message. The problem is worse than that because it is sending out a vacation message from over a year ago that had been disabled, even though it shows as disabled in the web interface.
Here is what I tried to do to clear things up.
* Turn off email and web server.
* Remove all scripts from /var/spool/imap/dovecot/sieve-scripts/
* Remove all scripts and vacationIndex.db from /Library/Emailrules/
* Turn on email and web server.
When I return to the user's vacationnotice wiki page it shows the old outgoing email rule. I cannot find where this old rule is stored. When I apply the new rule when a user sends a message to the account they initially receive two vacation replys, the correct one and the 'old' incorrect one as well. Subsequent test messages get a reply of the 'old' message repeatedly, while the new one is properly 'muted' until the following day.
Does anyone know what I'm missing and how to find this zombie message?

Gr message to Purchasing group email Ids

Hi There,
I need to Gr message to Purchasing group email Ids using output type. I checked the output type MLGR, it is not sending the external email ids also it can send the message only to the user entered in the condition record. Also the GR posting is not accessing to the conditions given in the condition record table. It is fetching only the User detail from the condition table. Thanks for your valuable inputs for this issue.

Hi,
Mail access / authorization is one of the reasons for not getting mails.Have you tried to give message manually inMB02? I think you should take a look at the problem of authorization. The process of using output type MLGR is that a mail is sent to the buyer through the purchase group entered in the PO. Check in IMG>MM>Purchasing>Creating Purchase Groups. An email address should have been maintained there.
Alternatively, try creating an output entry using Medium 7 (as you did), but partner function $1, BU or ME. This should trigger an email to the Buyer who created the order.
This may require you to configure these partner functions for the particular output type. I suggest you make a copy of MLGR.

Problems in sending group emails

I am having problems sending group emails.
I get the message "The server"smtp.mac.com" did not recognize the following recipients." Then it will list a random selection from my group, sometimes including my email. I know these emails are good emails. If I laboriously pull these selected emails from the group, eventually the group email will go through.
The next time I try to send a group email I go through this all over again, with another random group of emails that are not recognized. Any ideas? Can my list be too long? I have 160 emails in one group?

Yes. Although you might put a Group into the To field, the recipient of the email sees every email address in that group, and if anyone has any malware on their system or even the mail servers the email travels through, those can be grabbed. After you've sent the email, you can also see every recipient email address in the headers of that message in your Sent folder.
That's why you should not ever send bulk emails using the To field; always use the BCC field; it prevents malware from grabbing email addresses sent en masse, as well as preserving the privacy of your recipients. Nobody wants you to blast their email address to everyone else without their express permission. It's rude, disrespectful, and uncouth.

Thanks for the reply - I think I've sorted it though and there isn't actually an issue.
The whole group wasn't receiving the NDR, only the group manager which I setup a few weeks prior. This is a new feature so it complies with certain RFC's, basically the group manager will recieive the NDR to let them know there is a problem.
Something to do with mass mailing and unsolicited mail.

Group email sending problem - shown as Sent but not sent

My individual and few recipient emails work fine. Yet my group emails (50-90 recipients) emails show up in my Sent file, but the recipients do not receive them. No error messages or emails are given … the blocking is invisible. Comcast, my internet service provider, says it is a problem with the Mail program. Help.

Attachments in a group email sent from outlook 2007 do not show in the message

iPad doesn't show attachments in a group email sent from a Windows 7 PC using outlook 2007. Doesn't matter what the attachment is, if it is sent to a group created in Outlook the attachments do not come through. Is this a bug in iOS? My Google Nexus 4 phone handles the attachments just fine.

You can set up email groups in Contacts. The articles says Address Book (Contacts old name), but it still works.

The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

Creating Groups for Mass Text Messages and emails

I have been searching but haven't been able to find out how to create groups to send bulk text messages or emails from my iphone. Can anybody help?

I am new to this board and I've had the iphone only for a few days, but today, on thanksgiving, I wanted to wish about 50 of my closest friends and family a very happy thanksgiving I noticed the same thing and came here to find a resolution.
Next upgrade this is something Apple really needs to take care of.
Preferably _before Christmas_, otherwise I'm going to have to write those 50 friends, plus texts for random people I just want to keep in touch with.
Don't even want to think about it.
Of course I still have the option to use my good old Sony Ericsson W800 I gave my mother, but what does this tell us about Apple????

Trying to set up a group email "RAM" that will contain multiple email addresses. Receive error messages "check SMTP settings" or "Invalid email address" when I try to send a message to the group.

I am trying to set up the group email "RAM" that will contain multiple email addresses. I have inputted the name "RAM" as a corporation. In the section labeled "Email" I have inputed multiple email addreses so that when I want to send an email to the group "RAM" I just have to input the name "RAM" in the section labeled "To" , input the Subject in the Subject box & the email will be sent to the multiple addresses, yet when I do I receive either one of two error messages being "Invalid Email Address" or "Check SMTP settings" each of which allows me the option of with cancelling the email or send it anyway.

Bump. I'd like to know, too. I even have some synched Groups from my Apple Address Book I email to using Apple Mail on the Powerbook, but I can't see how to do a group mailing on the Touch either.
In normal Mail, I just start typing the name of the group, and it autocompletes, I hit return, and it fills in all addresses in the Group.

Reset your phone by holding down the home button with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. Try it again.

Capture problem -- strange error messages -- computer freezes

Upon 25 minutes or so into capturing, I get a strange error message to this effect: "analyzing DV audio -- validating audio data" -- the video slows to a crawl until it completely freezes -- rainbow wheel whirls nonstop -- sometimes command-option-escape force quits it, sometimes not and I have to reboot the computer. Sometimes I don't get the error message -- the computer capture screen freezes but the camera keeps going. Anyway here are the specs: Intel dual-processor iMac 300 GB with Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5., format Mac OS Extended journaled. External hard drives Western Digital 500 GB formatted the same; QT 7.5.5; FCE 4.0.1; Settings: DV NTSC 48 Khz. Format & use - DV NTSC. Device control preset: firewire NTSC. Camera - Canon 900 ZR (miniDV tapes) hooked up to back of iMac via 6 pin shiny orange firewire for capture. I capture to Mac hard drive and then move video to external hard drive. Yes there is enough space and RAM. I had this problem before except the error message was "locating time break." So it was suggested I capture to hard disk. Seems like it's always something! I've lost hours trying to fix this problem. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

12 bit. Haven't been having any audio problems with FCE. However, I tried the nightmare iDive and never got audio (much less anything else) to work with that. So I uninstalled it and asked for my money back.
