Streaming bluetooth through car stereo with uconnect

I have iphone paired and can make calls but sometimes when it streams music through the bluetooth function it skips or plays really fast. Any suggestions?

Thanks Deggie... no biggie, just trying to clean up cords. I recommend this head unit if anyone is looking... I wired it for hands free calling in my car and it works flawlessly. Much better than my BT headset. And the music playback through wired connection is great because I can choose to control it through the stereo, or through the phone.

  • Bluetooth through car stereo

I have been using a Sony XPLOD MX8500 for some time as my car head unit and handsfree kit combined. It has paired successfully with a series of phones, going back to the Nokia N82. Using the Lumia 800, I can pair the phone and use it for both calls and music. However, it appears that I am not getting a true stereo signal over the bluetooth connection. I have tested with several songs that I know to have segments that are either fully left speaker or fully right speaker (an example being the opening sequence of The Invisible Man by Queen) and the sounds remains firmly centre stage.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it a known problem? If so, is it something that is likely to be fixed or will I have to use a stereo output cable for my tunes?
    Kind regards
    David

  • Pandora App No Longer Streams Through Car Stereo

    Hi,
I have a Alpine iDA-X305 head unit in my car and I used to stream Pandora through my stereo using a plug in connection. I recently did an app update for Pandora and it can no longer stream through my car stereo. A message pops up on my phone and it says that the device is not optimized. I have an iPhone 4 and am running the most up-to-date software.
Anyone have any input on how i can solve this problem?

Most likely the car player is the culprit here. Call their customer support.

  • I recently purchased a car stereo with Bluetooth capability. I paired my iPhone 4S with it and it wasn't working properly. I went into forget this device. Then found out it was something they did when they installed it. Now it won't pair again. Help

I recently purchased a new car stereo with Bluetooth capability. I paired my phone with the stereo and it wasn't working correctly, did forget this device. Found out it was a problem with the radio. Now it's fixed and my phone won't pair with it again. How can I pair it again?

You will need to put the car stereo back into discovery/pairing mode. That may mean you removing the initial pairing of the device. See the user guide for the radio on how to put the device into discovery/pairing mode, and if necessary, how to remove the original pairing. • VOLUME THROUGH CAR STEREO

When I first played my 40g ipod HP through my car stereo with a cassette adaptor it sounded great! Now when I do it it won't play loud enough to hear it. Even with the ipod volume and stereo volume cranked. What did I do wrong?
Does it have something to do with volume leveling? I though it might and turned this feature off, with same results!

Try the cassette adaptor in another tape deck, if it works then your car radio cassette is bad or try a portable fm radio with the cassette adaptor in you car. probably the cassette or your car radio is bad...sorry

  • Playing through car stereo

I am having problems playing through car stereo using the cassette deck. Only getting audio out of right side. Have tried two Dyantec with same result. Ipod has sound on both sides through ear buds. Cassette deck is playing regular cassettes just fine. Trying to stay away from fm transmitters.

Do you have the option of an 'aux' in your car stereo? If so, you should only have to purchase an auxiliary cable and plug it into your IPod and 'aux' in the car. It will then play through the speakers. You can also do this with your home stereo if it has the 'aux' option.

  • MacBook Pro Through Car Stereo?

    Hi,
I want to run the sound from my MacBook Pro through my Kenwood Excelon car stereo so that I can hear it on the truck speakers.
I'll first try it with a Bluetooth connection. The BT between my iPhones and the stereo works perfectly, but I've never tried the computer. I figure to pair it and go to System Pref's and set output to BT.
If that does not work, the Kenwood will also take a USB connection. Can I do that? If I establish a USB connection, is there a sound out preference that will show in Syst Pref's for USB out?
    Thanks.

PS. Here's the full version of what I'm trying to do for those who want more. I've got a small motorhome. It has an entertainment center with speakers connected to the car radio. I want to either stream Netflix or use my Slingbox to watch the video on my MBP screen -- but get better sound by running it through the car radio and the rv sound system.
The RV is older and I cannot hard wire into the entertainment system from the MBP; so, I'm going through the newer radio.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You can't pair a Nano with the MacBook Pro and more information is needed about the problem you are having with the Beats Pill and your car stereo. Check the car stereo manual and see if it has A2DP compatibility.

  • TOMTOM through car stereo

    Hi All,
I have trauled forums and still dont have an answer. Here is my query. I have an iPhone 4s all is fine, just installed the tomtom app, again great app however I want the nav instructions to speal thorugh my car stereo. (VW GOLF Mk6) now my issue is that TomTom uses bluetooth streaming and in doing so means I cant listen to my iPOD nano plugged into the car dock.
It seems I can only have one or the other.
What I find strange is that siri works through the car system pausing the MIDI music when speaking an instruction or replying with an answer, surely TOMTOM can do the same without using the BT streaming function of the stereo.
I see there is a A2DP blocker app but wont this disable the Tomtom speech thorugh the stereo?!

Do you have the option of an 'aux' in your car stereo? If so, you should only have to purchase an auxiliary cable and plug it into your IPod and 'aux' in the car. It will then play through the speakers. You can also do this with your home stereo if it has the 'aux' option.

  • 6210 Navigator, Bluetooth and car stereo

Hi there! I just got myself a Nokia 6210 Navigator, and i want to connect it with my car stereo for bluetooth use. I did so with my SonyEricsson T630 with great success. But when i try now, i follow the exact same steps as before, but it does not work. I do get the setup to finish, but when it tries to connect, it just disconnects after about 0.5 seconds. Ive tried several times, and i have deleted the paired phone and everything, but nothing seems to work. I can have 3 phones paired, so that should not be the problem.
The car stereo is a Pioneer DEH-P700BT.
Thanks for all help, and feel free to ask if you need some extra info. Thanks!

I have the 6210 Nav, the only way I can get it to connect is by going through the set up, then letting it link to BT Audioo first, once it sees that, I can select a different source and hey presto!
    But still not good enough!

  • Low volume on Ipod Nano when playing through car stereo

I used to own a 4 gig ipod mini, and I'd connect it to my car stereo via a stereo cassette adapter. Well, that little guy crashed after a few years of good hard use, and I bought an Ipod Nano. Only, when I play the Nano through my car stereo, the volume is really low. Is there any way to fix this? I'm thinking maybe the Nano doesn't have the same amplification as the mini, and that's why the volume is low, in which case there's going to be no way to play it through the car stereo. I've tried two different stereo cassette adapters so I know that's not the problem. Anyone have any clarifying thought on this? Please help. David

I use a cassette adapter in the car as well, and also have to adjust the voume on the stereo and the ipod to a higher setting than what I would when listening to a cassette or CD. I've used this adapter with another brand of MP3 player before I got my nano and it was the same as the nano in regards to having to turn up the volume.
In using the adapter in different cars, I've noticed that on some cassette players, I have to swith the auto reverse from say, tape A to tape B in order to get sound out of the adapter. You may want to check the auto reverse settings on your cassette deck, if you haven't already.

  • Ipod adaptor for car stereo with cd player not tape

If my car stereo has just got a front loading cd player does anyone know an adaptor - preferable in apple store - that i can use? The only ones i have seen use the tape player.

b Various Methods to Connect to a Car Stereo System, or Listen to Your iPod in the Vehicle
    b Best:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack of your iPod, to the mini-jack input (or AUX RCA input jacks) of your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units may have this feature.
There are also some after-market, moderate to fairly expensive direct interfaces, that hook into your existing car stereo to provide a high-quality, direct connection. Most will also power/charge the iPod. Pretty slick, but can be pricey ($80-$300). If money is no object, a clean way to go. Not very portable from car to car – if at all.

    b Better:
Connect your iPod to a cassette adaptor and play your tunes through your car's cassette player. Some new cars no longer come with a cassette player, so it may not be an option. It will provide even better audio quality if you can run the audio feed out of the dock connector (see the SendStation link below). Can be portable between cars that have a cassette player and also be used in your home cassette system.
    b Good:
Attach an FM transmitter to your iPod and play the tunes through an unused FM station. Convenient, but wireless FM transmitter signals are susceptible to static and outside interference, and can vary in strength and quality depending on your location. Some noticeable degradation and distortion, depending on the quality of the transmitter, the sensitivity of your ears and the airwave congestion in your area. Highly portable between cars, and may be used in a home system. FM transmitters that need to be plugged into a DC auto jack may not work in a home environment (without some sort of adaptor).
    b Marginal:
Attach an external speaker system to the iPod and play it in the car. Workable, but not too good - unless you spring for a $300+ Bose (or similar) system. But why? Only if your vehicle has no Stereo system, perhaps.
    b Brave Techno-Geek:
This site gives some direction on adapting your own car stereo by yourself: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/ . Risky, but it has been successful: Seanski, "silent track" #2, 11:59pm Jul 15, 2005 CDT
Whichever you choose, power the iPod through your car’s DC power -- either from a power adapter, or as part of the combined audio adaptor. Have a method to secure the iPod to the dash/console/etc. See the reviews for all the various accessories at the iLounge
You will also get better audio output if the dock connection plug is used, rather than the headphone jack. See this URL for a novel adaptor: https://www.sendstation.com/us/products/pd_lousb.html. Others types are also available via this site.
I have read positive and negative reviews of each method, and within method there are great variations in performance of different manufacture's systems – and peoples’ opinions of their performance. Some cassette adaptors/FM transmitters work poorly, some better.
FWIW: I have the iTrip Mini & the Newer Technology RoadTrip!+ FM transmitters, a Belkin cassette adaptor (used both with & w/out the PocketDock) and two vehicles with the BlitzSafe direct interface. Using the same song in the same car, I found that the FM transmitters worked, but not as good as the cassette adapter via the headphone jack. Using the PocketDock on the cassette adapter resulted in a significant audio quality improvement. As expected, the Blitzsafe direct connect was exceptionally better than everything else: less tinny, a more warmer/richer sound, and close to true CD quality.

  • Does playing my ipod on the car stereo with USB hurt the battery of the ipod?

Just curious if when playing the ipod on the car stereo using the usb plugged into the stereo unit will cause the battery life to shorten since it is seems to be charging the ipod.  Or does the ipod have a regulator that stops the charging once the battery is full?

Thank you for the info.  I must have gotten a bad ipod, because I only had it for a month and the battery would drain down overnight even with the wifi and bluetooth off.  I play it on my stereo unit hooked up with the USB.  I didn't think that by doing that it would mess up the battery and cause it to drain quickly in just a month.

  • Touch refuses to play through car stereo

Hi, I just got a 16gb Touch and love it. Unfortunately it's refusing to play through my car stereo. My car stereo has an auxiliary jack and I have a cable with RCA at one end and ipod connecter at the other end. My wife's Classic and Nano both play fine but the Touch is refusing to play through. Am I missing something?

Look at http://pinouts.ru/Devices/ipod_pinout.shtml and read the description of pin 21.
I suspect the Accessory Indicator/Serial enable causes the problem when there is no charging voltage.
You might want to contact the car adapter manufacturer to see if they have a fix.

  • Play other apps through car stereo like pandora an aol music

With the increasing number of music apps other than the ipod I'm looking for a way to play those through my car stereo. I have an 06 VW Jetta that has a built in ipod player, when I plug it in it goes directly to the ipod and only plays ipod if I'm in another app switch to another one it always goes back to the ipod. I would like to play pandora or aol music or flycast any of them throuigh the car stereo and I wanted to know if anyone knows a product that can allow me to do that. Or how I can do that now. I have the cassette player through the headphone jack but my car doesn't have a cassette player. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Apple has an accesory that transmits from your phone to any stereo/radio via the FM band...just pick an unused spot on the dial.

  • Connecting ipod nano 7th generation through car stereo usb cord.

When I connect my ipod nano 7th generation to my car stereo through a usb cable, (using a lightning adapter),  I am not able to control my music through the ipod, but only through the car stereo system. The car stereo system won't allow me to play my playlist on shuffle mode nor can I control the ipod itself through the device when it's plugged in. I have to unplug it and make new playlist selections. Any solutions?

I am having the same problem with mine.  I have a Hyundai Sonota and can pair with my Ipod Nano but cannot connect.  I also would appreciate any help.  Thanks!!
