Structure of jdbc

Hello,
I need to insert from a file to a JDBC table. The database table has lots of values ,but i need to insert just a few of them. While i create a structure of the table in the data types, do i need to create the whole database table structure or only the structure of values to be inserted?
Thanks

just insert the values you need, but make sure that you define de key values in the structure. consider taht the structure you define in PI later is translated into a SQL statement. so no problem to insert, update some values of a table and not the wholes fields

  • Question about Sender and Receiver Structure for JDBC

    Dear All,
    I want to know why there is a fixed format for sender and receiver structure for JDBC. why cant we use the structure like what we want? explain me in detail.
    Thanks

    Good Question:
    We have to create our data structure based on the existing database table structure. While reading or writing , JDBC adapter convert our data type structure in to SQL Query Statements that matches Table structure.

  • Date format /structure for JDBC

    Hi, can anyone tell be what format a date should be in when querying a database. I have some old code that was transfered to a new app server which follows Java standards very strictly. Now it gives me problems when comparing dates, for example a query that finds records for a date BETWEEN two other dates. The old format was dd-mon-yyyy, but this doesn't work anymore and neither does dd-mon-yy OR yyyy-mon-dd. When I do the query in the text editor(SQL Plus) it works, but not within the Java code.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    I see what you mean now. Yes, format matters then. Your HTML page will assume that the string that's typed into the text box will be a valid date string using a format that you choose.
    You should turn that String into a java.util.Date using java.text.DateFormat.parse(). Be sure to call setLenient(false) on the DateFormat instance before you call parse(). That way you'll get a java.text.ParseException if the String isn't valid according to your pattern and you can send an error page back to the client. (OR validate the pattern on the client side using JavaScript before the page is submitted.)
    Once you've got a valid java.util.Date for your DateFormat instance, create a java.sql.Date to pass to the ava.sql.PreparedStatement.setDate method.
    Warner's point is that by the time you get around to passing the java.sql.Date to PreparedStatement, all that validation stuff is supposed to be done.

  • IDOC to JDBC Scenario error

    Hi All,

    But it has successfully generated the SQL Query which I think is perfect.
    But whats the error which follows that?
    How do I resolve it?

    Hi,
    It could be due to wrong structure of JDBC, compare your target structure with this blog..

  • Error with Asynchronous RFC call to JDBC

    Hi all,
    We are working on a scenarion where in we have to make an asynchronous RFC call to JDBC.
    We have configured RFC sender adapter following this weblog
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
    We have created data types only for the database as RFC does not require any data types.
    And also we have created message types,message interfaces accordingly.
    In Message Mappping,we mapped the export parameters of RFC to the access fields of database message type.
    Also we have created sender agreement,interface determinations etc.... accordingly
    And for sending RFC request asynchronously we followed this weblog
    /people/swaroopa.vishwanath/blog/2006/12/28/send-rfc-to-sap-xi-150-asynchronous
    Once done with all the above steps we could able to trigger the RFC call and caught with the following errors in SXMB_MONI and no errors are seen in communication monitoring

    Can any one please let me know what other configurations do we need to do?
    I did not map the RFC import parameters,do we need to do that
    Any help in this regard is really appreciated
    Rgds,
    Santhosh

    Hi,
    I am really happy to hear that the problem with mapping is resolved.
    Now as per your requirment It needs to be aynschornous RFC--> XI ---> JDBC call. In XI you should map the RFC Export parameters to the traget structure of JDBC.
    then the question is to how to trigger the RFC Function Module in R/3 to XI.
    Plesae follow below steps to trigger it from SAP R/3
    1. Create a RFC in the R/3 system
    2. Configure the SM59 and Sender Communication channle as given in the Michal's blog. Also test if it is succesful.
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/03/29/configuring-the-sender-rfc-adapter--step-by-step
    3. Import the RFC in XI
    4. Do the mapping to the target strucutre
    5. Configure the JDBC receiver adapter
    /people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/10/24/connecting-to-ms-access-using-receiver-jdbc-adapter-without-dsn
    6. You can trigger the RFC from R/3 sytem by using
    Async Call - in ABAP program use below syntax to call RFC. Here the export parameters will be passed on to XI which further have mapped to JDBC.
    CALL Function "RFC Name" IN BACKGROUND TASK destination <sm59 destination>
    COMMIT WORK.
    Sync Call
    CALL Function "RFC Name" destination <sm59 destination>
    Thanks

  • JDBC Sender Adapter Message format

    I am somenone who is new to SAP PI so please help me out in the format of datatype for JDBC SENDER Adapter ?

    Hi Rajesh
    The source xml structure for JDBC adapter is like below
    <resultset>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</ column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</ column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</ column-name3>
    </row>
    <row>
    <column-name1>column-value</ column-name1>
    <column-name2>column-value</ column-name2>
    <column-name3>column-value</ column-name3>
    </row>
    </resultset>
    Then in the sender JDBC adapter, write the select and update query
    SQL statement for query: SELECT * FROM table WHERE processed = 0;
    SQL statement for update: UPDATE table SET processed = 1 WHERE processed = 0;
    processed is the indicator in the database.

  • Doubt in JDBC Scenario.

    Dear All,
          At present i am doing File to JDBC Scenario using SQL Server database.I am having some doubts in doing this Scenario,please give me some clarification on those.I already completed this scenario using MS Access database.
    SQL Server installed on my local machine.
    1.For MS Access I used Business Service for both Sender and Receiver. Can I use Business Service for Sender and Receiver in this case also? Do I need to compulsory use Business System for the Receiver?  Do I need to give information regarding my local machine in that Business System in SLD?
    2.After going through some documents on JDBC Scenarios,i came to know that,the only difference between using MS Access and SQL Server is ,configuring Receiver Communication Channel parameters and Deploying the corresponding Driver on XI Server though SDM.Is this the only change?or Is there any other change need to do?Please suggest me.....
    3.In Receiver Communication channel configuration at Connection parameter we are giving -
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://172.16.202.57:1433;databaseName=xxxx.
    My system IP Address is  172.16.202.57
    Will the Port Number always 1433 for local machine?
    4.Throught out the whole scenario we were giving the Database Name in Receiver Communication channel and Table Name in Data structure of Receiver.Is this sufficient to determine the Correct Data base and Correct Table name?Or Anywhere else do we need to give the Table name or Database name?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Ramana.
    *POINTS WILL BE REWARDED TO THE ANSWERS.*

    Hi
    1.You can Business Service for Sender and Receiver in this case also. No need to go for Systems.The scenario is going to be the same.
    2.The only difference is in the configuration of Receiver Communication Channel and the parameters are URL Connection String and name of the driver.
    Also the corresponding Driver for SQL server needs to be deployed on XI Server using SDM.
    3.Not in all the cases you specify a port number.I had connected to Max DB using the connection as
    jdbc:sapdb://DBServerName/DBName
    4. Yes it is sufficient because the Receiver Structure of JDBC is defined in such a manner.

  • JDBC to RFC synchronous scenario (Urgent).

    Dear forum,
    My requirement is data is populated in oracle data base.we are fecthing the data from database through XI and sending it to R/3. RFC is sending the response (suceess/failure) to XI. And XI is updating the status message into database.
    For this,I have done the JDBC - RFC - JDBC syncronous scenario using BPM. .I got the successfull message under message monitering.Problem is I cannot able to find the data for RFC and JDBC reciever.
    Please find the following Configuration steps for the above scenario
    3 data types
    JDBC request, JDBC response one dummy structure to capture RFC response messages.
    3 message types for the above data types
    5 message interfaces.
    OB request,
    OB ABS request,
    IB Asyn for dummy,
    Syn ABS (JDBC req and dummy structure),
    IB JDBC response.
    4 message mappings.
    Mapping between JDBC request to JDBC request dummy.
    Mapping between JDBC request dummy to RFC request.
    Mapping between RFC response to JDBC response dummy.
    Mapping between JDBC response dummy to JDBC response.
    3 Interface Mappings.
    JDBC request to JDBC request dummy.
    JDBC request dummy to RFC request and RFC response to JDBC dummy response(Synchronous request and responce) .
    JDBC dummy response to JDBC response.
    Integration Process.
    Used following steps.
    Recieve step asynchronous -> Send synchronous -> Send asynchronous
    I can able to see the payload for sender under communication channel.But the data is not reached to RFC.can any one help me to come out of this problem.
    Points will be awarded for helpfull answers.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Naresh.K

    Hi Seshagiri,
    We are trying the same scenario with out using BPM.
    Following steps has been done in design(IR).
    2 data types for JDBC request & JDBC response.
    2 message types for the above data types.
    1 outbound synchronous message Interface.
    2 message mappings (JDBC request -> RFC request) and (RFC response -> JDBC  response)
    1 Interface Mapping.
    Could you please let me know how to maintain the collaborative profiles & and agreement details in Configuration(ID).

  • IDOC TO JDBC , mappinng source segment to target segment

    Hi Experts,
    I need your guidance on the following scenario
    IDOC to JDBC (DB2)
    Source side has one header and multiple line items to be map to DB2  tables (one for header and one for line item)
    I have searched through web and forum for some step by step guide on this but to no avail.
    I have followed the guide from help.sap
    but problem is when I send one header and four line items , header is inserted to the header table  but only first line item is inserted into the line item table.     I have defined Statement 1 for the header while Statement 2 for the line item
    There are a few things that i am in doubt.
    1. Do i need to change the access to 1 to unbounded fir tge statement2 for the line item table. I did changed access to unbounded but still inserted one first line item
    2. If one of the field in the header is required to  map to the line item structure, since header is 1 to 1 and lines come in multiple times, do i need to user onetomany function ?
    3. The complicated part is within the source line item, there is multinested segment with (1 to 9999 occurence). I have changed the context to the top node of the source line item, but problem persist.
    Does anyone has experience in such mapping that can share or having similar scenario with one header and multiple line items to JDBC DB table ?
    Regards
    FNG

    Hi Freddy,
    1) You can create such a structure for JDBC receiver:
      <StatementName>
    <dbTableName1 action=u201DINSERTu201D>
    <table>realDbTableName</table>
    <access> 0...1
    </access>
    </dbTableName1>
    <dbTableName2 action=u201DINSERTu201D>
    <table>realDbTableName</table>
    <access>  0...unbounded
    </access>
    </dbTableName>
      </StatementName>
    Since we are using single Statement whole payload will be treated as single message. If any record faces problem while insertion, whole message will be rolled back.
    2. You can set logSqlStatement - true in Receiver Adapter. Then you can check the SQL query in adapter log. You can check this query for any error.
