Structure specific property on Infocube

Hi Gurus:
Does 'Structure specific property on Infocube' will help in query performance?
I am thinking it only helps in data loading.
If you think it helps in query perfromance, please suggest & send a link to the SAP documentation.
I will be more than happy to assign points.
Thanks

Hi M,
The structure specifc property is basically only useful in a case where your query is defined for a fixed set of values.
Suppose you have fixed the value of the charateristic to some constant.
Thus it can act as a performance improver in the case if you are using the characteriastic in the query and your query is using only for that set of values .
Then the number of records retreived for that query will be less and perfornmance will defenately improve in that case as the number of reocrds transferred will be less .
But the draw back is that you will not be able to put any restriction  on those characteristics in the query designer and no drilldown is possible on such characteristics.
Hope it is clear.

  • Problem setting a provider specific property : JMS adapter

    Hi Experts:
I need to set a provider specific property as required by the third party in a IDoc to JMS scenario.
The property name starts with JMS_ and is offcourse a property specific to the JMS provider.
The way I am setting it is I have declared a Additional JMS message property by the same name as desired by the third party say
    JMS_XXX
and then using the DynamicConfigurationBean I assign a value to this in the reciever channel.
The problem that we have observed is, all other properties are set as desired, only this one for which the name starts with JMS_ is not set correctly.
Is it possible to set such a provider specific property using XI or not?

    Hi Amol,
    Adapter-Specific Message Properties
    ·        To store adapter attributes in the message header of the XI message, select Set Adapter-Specific Message Properties.
    ·        To apply the following attributes in XI message headers, set the corresponding indicators:
           Name                                           Technical Name
    JMS Message Correlation ID               DCJMSCorreleationID
    JMS Message Delivery Mode               DCJMSDeliveryMode
    JMS Message Destination                   DCJMSDestination
    JMS Message Expiration                     DCJMSExpiration
    JMS Message ID                                DCJMSMessageID
    JMS Message Priority                         DCJMSPriority
    JMS Message Redelivered Flag            DCJMSRedelivered
    JMS Message ReplyTo Destination      DCJMSReplyTo
    JMS Message Time Stamp                   DCJMSTimestamp
    JMS Message Type                              DCJMSType
    Used JMS Message Selector                 DCJMSMessageSelector
    Used JMS Message Queue                    DCJMSMessageQueue
    JMS User                                                DCJMSUser
If you want to set additional JMS message attributes, select Specify Additional JMS Message Properties (10 Maximum).
    ·        In the table, enter the names of the JMS message properties whose values are to be included in the message header of the XI message.
The technical names of the additional attributes are DCJMSMessageProperty0, DCJMSMessageProperty1, ..., DCJMSMessageProperty9.
You can enter more than 10 properties in the table, but only the first 10 are taken into account.
The attribute namespace for the adapter is http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/JMS.
if found worth pls do the req

  • How to implement the summary report of a specific property?

    Hi Experts.
We want to realize the summary report of specific property on following situation, but we can't find the good solution.
    for instance:
    (1)ENTITY Dimension
    ID Region
    DE EUROPE
    FR EUROPE
    MY ASIA
    ID ASIA
    TH ASIA
("REGION" is one of the properties of ENTITY dimension)
    (2)Example Data
    ID JAN FEB
    DE 10 5
    FR 5 5
    MY 10 10
    ID 2 3
    TH 23 24
    (3)Report that we wanna realize
    ID JAN FEB
    EUROPE 15 10
    ASIA 35 37
In addition, we wanna make this report as following situations:
    -Without assigning "Region" as hierarchy
-Without displaying each member level (DE, FR, ...). only display their property such as EUROPE and ASIA.
    -BPC version is 10.1(NW).
By the way, we make out to subtotal each property to use "Member Sorting & Grouping" in menber selector, but we want to implement without displaying each member.
Is it possible to implement? Please advise us the good solution.
    Best Regards,
    Masa

    Hi Vadim,
Previously I had the same requirement as masa, So I have searched for solution which masa is asking for.
At that time I also came to conclusion that creating hierarchy would so this problem, but didn't created because I referred somewhere that creating 3-4 hierarchy for dimension is good practice. More than that it might impact performance. We already had that same no. of hierarchy.
This type of report can be created with the of BW Bx Query, so we created with it.

  • How to create a specific property node w/ VI script

I am writing a VI script to work with some multi column listboxes.  I need it to create a property node that gets a reference to the ItemNames field.  I see that I can create a property node via the invoke node method Create.Property Node, but how to get the ItemNames field specifically I so far can't figure out.  Can anyone help?
To be clear, I am writing code that looks like this:
...and when I run the script, I want it to produce this:
Right now it produces the MCL as expected, via the New VI Object node...but I don't know how to get the ItemNames created automatcially.  I thought it might be in the PropItems array but so far no luck.
    thank you
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The output of "PropItems[]" will be a one element array.  Index that element and wire the reference to an invoke node.  Select the method "SetProperty".

  • SP2013 Search - Query documents only in a library with a specific property bag value

    Hi,
I am hoping someone might be able to help me as I am struggling to figure out how to get the following scenario to work using query variables.
I have configured a property bag value against document libraries and made it indexable and turned it into a managed property. I have checked to ensure i can search specifically against this managed property and it works correctly and returns document libraries
which have a  property bag key with a value that I specify in a search query e.g. classification:internal.
I have also configured a managed property for a piece of metadata i collect against every document e.g. colour. I can successfully search against this manged property and return documents whereby colour is equal to red e.g. colour:red
What I would like to do is take this one step further and say search across only libraries where the property bag value equals internal and return documents within those libraries which have a metadata value of something e.g. colour = red.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can achieve this.
    Thanks in advance
    Mark

That or in some way get the container metadata to be present in the item itself as well.

Have you tried putting the XML file in a shared .jar? And referencing
the jar using the Class-path entry in the manifest of each EJB's jar.
You should then be able to load the file as a resource.

  • Specification for Infocube.

    Hello All,
I want to make a specification for creating Infocube with all the detaild information.
So, can anyone guide me how to start and following procedure or any templet which can help me.
Thanks for your time and consideration.

    HI,
    Creating InfoCubes
    Prerequisites
Ensure that all the InfoObjects you want to transfer in the InfoCube are available in an active version. Create any InfoObjects you need that do not already exist and activate them.
Instead of creating a new InfoCube, you can install an InfoCube from SAP BI Content.
    Procedure
           1.      Create an InfoArea to which the new InfoCube should be assigned.
    Choose Modeling ®  InfoProvider.
           2.      In the InfoArea context menu, choose Create InfoCube.
           3.      Select either Standard or Real Time as the InfoCube type.
    Choose Create.
If you want to create a copy of an already existing InfoCube, you can enter an InfoCube as a template.
    The Edit InfoCube screen appears.
           4.      Adding InfoObjects:
On the left-hand side of the screen, there are various templates to choose from. These give you a better overview of a particular task. For performance reasons, the default setting is an empty template. You use the pushbuttons to select different objects as templates.
The InfoObjects to be added to the InfoCube are divided into the following categories: characteristic, time characteristic, key figure and unit.
On the right side of the screen, you define the InfoCube. Use drag and drop to assign the InfoObjects in the dimensions and the Key Figures folder. You can select several InfoObjects at the same time. You can also transfer entire dimensions using drag and drop. The system assigns navigation attributes automatically. These navigation attributes can be switched on to analyze data in the Business Explorer. If the navigation attributes are switched on, they are also displayed in the transformation (only if the InfoCube is the source) and can be updated.
    Or:
You can insert InfoObjects without selecting a template in the left half of the screen. This is useful if you know exactly which InfoObjects you want to include in the InfoCube. In the context menu for the folders for dimensions or key figures, choose InfoObject Direct Input. In the dialog box that appears, you can enter and transfer up to 10 InfoObjects directly, or you can select them using input help. You can use drag and drop to reassign them.
           5.      Details and provider-specific properties:
If you double-click an InfoObject, the detail display for this InfoObject appears. In the context menu for an InfoObject, you can make additional settings under Provider-Specific Properties.
           6.      Create dimensions: The data package, time, and unit dimensions are available by default. In the context menu for the Dimensions folder, you can create additional dimensions under Create New Dimensions.
    More information: Dimension.
If a dimension only has one characteristic, or it has a large number of values, you need to set the Line Item or High Cardinality indicator. More information: Line Item and High Cardinality.
           7.         In the context menu for the Key Figures folder you can Insert New Hierarchy Nodes. This allows you to sort the key figures in a hierarchy. You then get a better overview of large quantities of key figures in query definition.
    More information: Defining New Queries
           8.      Save or Activate the InfoCube.
Only an activated InfoCube can be supplied with data and used for reporting and analysis.

    Hi Jana,
The program RSUPGRCHECK is to check the inactive UPDATE and TRANSFER RULES.See SAP note 555717 and 449160.
Check all your update rules and transfer rules are active ,else reactivate them using the Pgms

Remember AP_FACTVIEWS_RECREATE should be run before the SAP upgrade.

Is it possible to delete the specific column data from the InfoCube & ODS????
If it is possible then how can i delete the particular specific data from the specific column of InfoCube and ODS.
    pls tell me

    HAI Ronald
I already loaded the data into the InfoCube and ODS. But i want to delete the 'year column=1900 , 1910' only (not the corresponding datarecords).
IS it possible to delete that Year Column only from the loaded data of InfoCube .
I think , it is possible by creating a new InfoCube and transferring my InfoCube data into newly created InfoCube and writing the start routine for Update Rules in between  my InfoCube & newly created InfoCube.
So do you know the ABAP/4 code for that

  • Can event structures be used w/o property nodes?

I want to know if there can be programming done using event structures but without using property nodes. My prgm has buttons and should be selected exclusively

Property Nodes really have nothing to do with Event Structures.
Property Nodes either Read from or Write to the various properties of the linked control/indicator. Event Structures react to an action from a control/indicator.
Drop an event structure and a single boolean button inside of it, configure the structure to the Value Change event for the button and hit run. The program will run, but the structure will stop the program until you click the button to run the event case, no property nodes required.
If this is not what you are referring to, provide a few more details and we'll se what we can do.

  • Error Reading Property File in Portal Component

    Hello,
I have created a portal component that calls an api that is located in a jar file.  The documentation on the Portal Component Structure specifies putting the jar file in the PORTAL-INF/lib directory, which I have done.  The problem is, my jar file reads a property file using ResourceBundle, but it doesn't find the property file.  I have placed the property file in the jar file, and throughout the portal component structure, but it just can't find it.  Has anyone else done something similar?  If so, where did you put your property file(s) for external jars that are used in the portal component.

  • Value assignment and value assignment type in the specification workbench

    Hi all,
There is this section on the specification workbench called u201CProperty Treeu201D, this section contains all the value assignment type, I have two questions on this.
    Question 1 u2013
What is exactly the value assignment type? The SAP help portal said it is a structure specification data and information. What exactly does it mean and its usage?
    Question 2 u2013
May I know where is the SPRO configuration that actually causes the list of value assignment types appear on the property tree section for this particular specification type which I created.
In another word, I create this new specification with specification type u201CREAL_SUBu201C and specification category u201CSubstanceu201C in the specification workbench transaction. Next thing I know is that the property tree section for this particular specification consists of a list of value assignment type. How does the system assigned these list of value assignment types to this specification i created? Coz I didnu2019t do anything.
Where in SPRO and the logic link it up on this??
    Thanks.

    Hello all
EH&S contains a number of submodules (PS, DG, IH etc.). Regarding each submodule a basic customizing is delivered by SAP. One example is the specification type. Usually you will find something like
    REAL_SUB
    LIST_SUB
etc. in the Customizing as discussed. Further more I believe with EH&S 2.7. the specification category come in place (SUBSTANCE as an example). You need to take care regarding this too.
An value assignment type can be grouped in a property tree and a property tree can be linked to a specification type and there are cases known that one specification type is linked only to one property tree (this is a decision regarding business needs and not an IT quesition). Using the EHS& surface you can change the property tree per specification if the set up is done in Customizing. Therefore the property tree is a "view" on the data linked to a specification. (identifeirs etc. are managed different)
A "property" is based on a value assigment type and in many cases on a related EH&S class and characteristic. You will find these types.
A => value assignment type to be used if you need characteristics
B => value assignment type to be used if you need specification listing
C  => value assignment type to be used if you need composition
    .. etc.
You can mix types. That means you can create a property of type "A" and "C" (take a look in SAP original tree; you will find examples how to do it).
A propetry tree is a "list" of assignment type related to a object (specification). Using the property tree you can maintain necessary data. Therefore ithe property tree itself contains per specification the list of "potential" data structures you can fill with data. I belive SAP Standard is delviering now something like 250 properties (valeu assignment types): To e.g. get an MSDS you need to maintain I would assume at least something like 20 up to 50 properties
The area of customizing regrading property tree, specification types etc.  is the most crticial to have a sucessful EH&S project running; any wrong decision gives rise to a high cost later Therefore take your time to understand what effect does which customizing acitivity have later.
Based on the value assignemnt you will create later e.g. a WWI report (like MSDS).
Additionally if necessary you can create customer specific value assignment types by either do a copy from SAP original to "Z" (highly recommended to do so!) or starting from basic.
Starting with EH&S 2.7. you have now more options to "change" EH&S using standard EH&S functionality. Take a look in customizinjg (example: you could create you own "look and feel" of the workbench (you should'nt really do that but it is possible). You can design your own "tab strips" etc.
So once again: the "correct" set up of EH&S in the area of e.g. identifers, speficiation types, property trees etc. is the "core" activity in EH&S customizing and therefore think "twice" before you change the setup up (you need to understand what a change mean)
    With best regards

    Hi all,
I am trying to export the specification LS_UN_SUB as a .dat file. The problem is that some data in the property tree is not exported to the file. In this case packing requirements and transportation regulations is not exported while risk classifications etc. are exported.
When I open the exported .dat file I am able to see e.g the table for risk classifications (EST0D) however the packing requirements that I believe is stored in the SAP table EST07 is not included in the file.
I have tried to change the exchange profile with no luck so far.
