Structurs in LSMW

Hi Experts,
Why LSMW has multiple structures.I have created multiple structures and assigned in field mapping. But when i was in READ FILES step it is showing no field name.So how to handle multple structures.
Kindly tell me abt error handling in LSMW.

Hi,
1. Maintain Attributes:
Here you have to choose the second option and you can do the recording how this should work. Then assign the same to the Batch Input Recording name.
2. Maintain Source structure:
  Create a structure name
3. Maintain Source field:
In this you have to create a structure same as taht of the input file
  eg: name
       age
4. Maintain structure relations:
This will link the structure to the input file.
5. Maintain field mapping and conversion rules:
Here is the place where you can do coding, depending upon the code you have   written or assignment you have done the values will get picked up from the file and get processed.
6. Maintain field mapping and conversion rules:
If you have any fixed values you can define here.
7. Specify files:
Specify the input file path and type.
8. Assign files:
This will assign ur file to the Input file
9. Read Data:
This will read ur data from teh file.
10. Dispaly Read Data:
You can see the uploaded data
11. Convert Data
This will convert the data to the corresponding format for processing
12. Display Converted data:
13. Create batch input session
Here this will create a batch input session for processing
14. Run Batch Input session:
By clicking on the session and process the same you can do teh needfu.
Hope this helps you.

  • Can we assign 1 flat file to 2 different structures in LSMW.

    Hi all,
Can we assign 1 flat file to 2 different structures in LSMW.
    Please help.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Amruta.

    Hi,
of course you can assign a flat file to as many LSMW structures you want.. If one structure is subordinate to the other, then all fields of your flat file are available to assign to any field in the structures.
For example, you want to create/change vendor company code data via standard upload program. There are structures BLFB1 for company code data and also BLFBW for vendor withholding tax. If your file is a flat file and contains a record for each vendor and say, up to three withholding tax types, you can assign your structure to both BLFB1 & BLFBW. You have to enter code in BLBW, though to transfer up to 3 BLBW records

  • Problem with 2 structure in Lsmw

    Hello experts,
I am using lsmw using batch input session. I have two structure one for vendor and other for vendor details. I am not able to assign both the structures at a time.
So I am having problem in mapping the fields.
I refered to other sites they have example with only one structure.

You can use two structures in a LSMW object  . Make sure both the structures have a common field
( unique field to link the two structures )

I used DIRECT INPUT method, below are the details,
    Prog. - RFBISA00
    Object- 0010
    Method - 0002
Prog. type is "B" - Batch input.
Issue: we r getting ther BSKX structure, its for GL Creation.
But, here we r getting the field STYPE in this strucure, its making issue for us.(we dont hv any SOURCE STRUCURE for it, so, nothing is assigning for it?
    Pls. let me know that,
How to DELETE this STYPE field in this LSMW under field mapping radio button?

Well Carlos, that would destroy the process, as STYPE is a necessary, technical field. Please care and read previous replies before suggesting potentially dangerous action.

  • Maintain Structure Relations - LSMW - IDOC method

    Hi,
Trying to use LSMW Idoc method to upload BP masters.
Have maintained the ports, partner types, message types etc. When I reach the "Maintain structure relationship" step, I have a very big tree structure under EDI_DC40 when am trying to maintain the structure relationship between the source and the target in LSMW idoc method.
Do I need to maintain my relationship at all the levels of the tree structure under EDI_DC40 or can I choose the nodes that are relevant and maintain a relationship only for them?
Is there a short cut or a way where I can maintain relationship for each node under the target strucute EDI_DC40.
    Appreciate your inputs.
    SK

    Hi SK,
There is no need to maintain EDI_DC40.
In 'Maintain Structure Relations' step, you just need to create Relationship for the structure you want the information be uploaded in the BP. Mapping of the fields in the structure to your upload file's values will be done in next step. Hope the above helps

  • In LSMW need field validation

    Hi,
My requirement is adding fields to an existing structure in LSMW batch input method and performing validations on those fields as follows
           1.  Alternative Priority                  should be numeric
           2.  Alternative Starategy              should be numeric
and valid values are  ‘1’  ‘2’.
            3.  Alt. Usage Probability             should be numeric with no decimals
                                                                  and valid values are 0-100
    Thanking u inadvance,

if you go to field mapping section(in change mode)
double clik on the field(where you see the mapping of your source field and the target field) which you need to write the condition, it will open up the editor to write the code. play around there you will get some idea.
if still you have problems let me know

  • Uploading of PO Details using LSMW

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to upload PO details in order to create PO using u2018LSMW with recording methodu2019.
    Here are the following concerns
u2022     I want to create each PO with more than one line item. However, the object which I have created is creating a PO for each line item. Can you please let me know where exactly I need to keep the loop.
u2022     u2018LSMW with recording methodu2019 is the right option to do that or do we need to use u2018LSMW with IDOC methodu2019. Please suggest me.

    > Murthy.
This preparation of the source is already pretty good.
Now you describe this source structure in LSMW:
choose step  Maintain source structures in LSMW
    Choose Create structure.
    A dialog box appears.
Enter the name and description of the source structure  (this shall become the header level)
    Choose Continue.
The LSM Workbench: Source structures screen appears again. The structure you created is displayed.
create an additional structure now. When you create additional structures, a dialog box with query "Same level/subordinated" appears. choose subordinated for your item lines.
Next you define the fields for each structure.
    follow this instruction:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/76/a05b78e8a411d1b400006094b944c8/content.htm
Keep an eye at the Identifying field content, because here you tell SAP how to know which line of your source file has header data and which one has item data. In other words:  Here you enter the "H" that you find in the first field of your source that defines that this line is header data.
When SAP reads a line with a H it will add the record as header data, if it dont, then it is item data.

  • Vendor Address is not updating in ADRC table by LSMW IDOC method

    Hi,
I'm updating Vendor address data by LSMW IDoc method
for this i'm using ADRMAS as msg type and ADRMAS02 as Idoc type.
In partner profiles Process code given as BAPI for this.
i maintained entry in TSADOBJ table LFA1 as OBJTYPE,1 as ADDR TYPE,0001 as context,LFA1 as TABLENAME,ADRNR as FIELDNAME, ADRC as TABLE PERS, ADDRNUMBER as FIELD PERS
    Idoc generating sucessfully.
But data is not updating in database.
i think the problem in TSADOBJ config.
Please give exact configuration which can update vendor data.
    Thanks in advance

be open minded. SAP gives several import methods to load vendors.  one of them is per IDOC.
But the vendor master IDOC does not automatically create the adress master.
And even more important, if you migrate data from one SAP system to another, the IDOC method is more straight forward than the batch input, because you can send the IDOCs from legacy system to new system, you will then have a 1:1 relation of the structure in LSMW and you can create vendor masters by knowing the new vendor number from an internal number range already in LSMW, long before you actually post the vendor. With batch input you can either post with numbers from external number range, or you just dont know the new number already in LSMW.
And you dont need to download the data to Excel. And further, the LFA1 adress data has less information than the ADRC adress data.

  • Error handling in lsmw

    Hi,
Is it possible to handle errors in LSMW if so how?
Advantages of LSMW over Function Module.
Is it possible to create multiple structures in LSMW to accept multiple Flat files.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Shankar,
SAP generated messages can't be handled in LSMW. We can check/Analyze the logs by T.Code: SLG1.
We can create multiple Structures in LSMW with 2nd Step.

    Hi,
It's no possible to upload directly Excel file in LSMW.
You must transform to an flat File.
    There are 6 delimiters
    - No Separator
    - Tabulator
    - Semi-Colon
    - Comma
    - Blanks
    - Others
    or
In txn LSMW, then create an object for your purpose. The txn can guide you to create the template.
The Excel file needs to be converted to a text file and uploaded through LSMW. If necessary, you may need to change the input file so that the column layout matches with the LSMW object.
    or
But in essence this is what you need to do:
Create a headers datafile, and a lines datafile.
Go through the routine of setting up LSMW to read both files, one the subordinate of the other.
Link files together using "Fields with identical names" button (turns pink!)
When you specify your structure relations, make the header datafile relate to the header structures, and your lines datafile relate to the lines structures.
LSMW will work out the loops for you!
    Hope it helps.

  • Merchandise category & hierarchy upload using LSMW???

    Hi
I am trying to upload Merchandise category and hierarcy using LSMW (BAPI/IDOC method only).
    For merhcandise category
I used message type W_WGRP and it is helping me in changing or reclassification of articles. But I am not able to create new merchandise category with this. I used structure E1BPE1WGR01  with "function" field with value "005, LSMW is working fine idocs are created successfully but no new Merc Cat is created.
When I used same structure with "function" field with value "009" I get error message "Class XXX does not exist or or is not valid on this date".
    For Merchandise Catrgory Hierarchy
I used idoc CLSMAS but getting error message "Keyword missing for class XXX"
has anybody uploded entire hierarchy structure using LSMW ?

Sorry to say, but your problem is not resolved.
In IS-Retail, a merchandise category must first be created as a class (CLSMAS) and then also as a merchandise category (W_WGRP).  Yes, you must process two IDoc per merchandise category, and in that order.
To understand how to load data using LSMW, the best approach to watch what the system does naturally.  In this case, use T-Code WGSE to send the merchandise category hierarchy via ALE from one system-client to another.  For understanding, you needn't configure the entire ALE scenario, just the outbound portion.  Then watch the outbound IDocs be created; there's your example!
For merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), there are four message types that will be sent: W_WGRP, CHRMAS, CLFMAS, and CLSMAS.
IDoc Serialization using message types (serialization groups) is used when several different message types are dependent on each other, as is the case here. For example, if a merchandise category is assigned to a merchandise category hierarchy level, the merchandise category hierarchy level must first exist.  How you use LSMW and IDocs is informed by the sequence.
To understand the IDoc sequence for creating the merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), use T-Code BD44 to view the Serialization Group GRP_W_WGRP includes the 4 desired message types in sequence:
CHRMAS04 Distr. of Characteristics with Dependencies and Long Texts
    CLFMAS02 Master object classification
CLSMAS04 Classes with Long Texts, Document Links, and E1UPSLINK
    W_WGRP01 Distribution of material groups
CHRMAS04 is only relevant of Characteristics are being assigned to merchandise categories.  Let us leave Characteristics aside for now.
Step 1:  Create Merchandise Category Hierarchy Nodes
Step 2:  Merchandise Categories - Create as a Class
Step 3:  Merchandise Categories - Change as a Retail MC
Step 4:  Merchandise Categories - Assign Category Hierarchy Nodes each other, and assign MC class to MCH node.
    For this, use these messages:
    Step 1:  CLSMAS04
    Step 2:  CLSMAS04
    Step 3:  W_WGRP01
    Step 4:  CLFMAS02

  • LSMW using Recording

    Hi,
I am trying to upload Regional structure using LSMW. I have recorded transaction SR10 (Create City) but I am not sure how to proceed further. What changes I need to do in the recording and what should be the target structure for that.
If anybody can tell how to use the recording it'll be a great help.
    Thanks.
    Jashan

While recording you should place the cursor on all the fields you need to fill (filling them) and using the transaction SR10 as normal for creating a city. Once you save it the record will be done and you'll have all the fields of the target structure that you will need to map from the source file.
However I'll suggest you to use within the LSMW the standard Regional Structure upload program instead of your own recording. The standard one works perfectly.
    Cheers,
    Aubin
