Struts can't display the input jsp page

Hello,
I'm using Struts 1.3.8 to construct a simple user registration system, in which the user could input his info (such as uuname and gpin, both are strings) in a jsp page, and after the submit, the system should go to a success page. However, somehow, when I access the url, it goes directly to the success page, but not stay at the input page.
Here is my {color:#ff0000}struts-xml.config{color}
bq. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> \\ <!DOCTYPE struts-config PUBLIC "-//Apache Software Foundation//DTD Struts Configuration 1.3//EN" "http://struts.apache.org/dtds/struts-config_1_3.dtd"> \\ <struts-config> \\ <form-beans> \\ <form-bean name="{color:#ff0000}anotherUserForm{color}" type="com.visualbuilder.struts.beans.AnotherUser" /> \\ </form-beans> \\ <!-- Global Exceptions --> \\ <global-exceptions></global-exceptions> \\ <!-- Global Forwards --> \\ <global-forwards> \\ <forward name="success" path="success.jsp"/>     </global-forwards> \\ <!-- Action Mappings --> \\ <action-mappings> \\ <action path="/{color:#ff0000}addanotheruser{color}" type="com.visualbuilder.struts.action.AddAnotherUserAction" name="{color:#ff0000}anotherUserForm{color}" attribute="user" input="{color:#ff0000}/addanotheruser.jsp{color}" cancellable="true"> \\ </action> \\ </action-mappings> \\ <!-- Message Resources --> \\ <message-resources \\ parameter="registration.resources.ApplicationResources" /> \\ </struts-config>
My action class is:

System.out.println("UUName: " + anotherUser.getUuname() + "\tGPIN: " + anotherUser.getGpin());
{color:#ff0000}return mapping.findForward("success");{color}
My ActionForm class is:
package com.visualbuilder.struts.beans;

Everytime I access http://localhost:9080/addanotheruser.do, it jumps to the success.jsp, but not stay at addanotheruser.jsp to wait for the user input, and in the server's console, I could see the output "UUName: null GPIN: null"
I've been stuck at this simple program for three days, could anybody help to find the errors? Thanks a lot.

sorry, the post looks ugly. Does anybody know how to make the indent not disappear?

  • How can you opening the tree.jsp page to a specific folder?

    I am trying to pass a query string into the viewer.jsp page so that I can open the appropriate folder relating to that query string. I can't find a way to do this as of yet. A lot of the code doing the work is only .class files so it is challenging.
    If you have any ideas as to how to begin to tackle this problem please let me know. Basically the querystring would contain the folder I want the tree to open to.

  • Tomcat can't get the specified jsp-page.

    there are three jsp-page : Step1.jsp Step2.jsp Step3.jsp
    Step2.jsp and Step3.jsp are placed at the same folder,but Step3.jsp is placed at the different folder.
    Step1.jsp's content :
    request.getRequestDispatcher("/CH4/Step2.jsp").forward(request,response);
    Step2.jsp's content :
    <form name="form1" action="Step3.jsp" method="post">
    <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit">
    </form>
    Step3.jsp's content :
    <c:out value="can you see this page " />
    the expectent procedure is : Step1 -> Step2 ->Step3
    but there is error : The requested resource (/CH4/MyJspCode/Step3.jsp) is not available.
    how to currect it ?

    The action on your form will be relative to step1.jsp
    So it will look for step3.jsp in the same folder as step1.jsp.
    This is because:
    The request was for step1.jsp
    The action attribute is a relative reference, not absolute, and thus is relative to the requested url - step1.jsp
    Although it was forwarded to step2.jsp, the browser knows nothing of this, and thus uses step1.jsp as its base.
    You can change this by including a base tag on the page.
    You can also give an absolute reference to the servlet/jsp but that involves harcoding the context name into the URL.

    Hello Charles,
    I did the registration in the same way as in the JDeveloper 3.2.3 (see follows)
    // make sure the application is registered
    oracle.jbo.html.jsp.JSPApplicationRegistry.registerApplicationFromPropertyFile(session , "ReefBC_BCPackage_BCPackageModule");
    The argument ReefBC_BCPackage_BCPackageModule is a property file (ReefBC_BCPackage_BCPackageModule.properties). After some tries, I can still use it in JDeveloper 9i R2. The reason to keep it is that there would be a lot of migration work of javabean calling if I change it to <job:DataWebBean..>. But I am wondering, do I initialize two application modules when I use registerApplicationFromPropertyFile() and <jbo:ApplicationModule..> in the same page.
    The problem in doStartTag() is found after I post "http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jsp?forum=83&thread=155210&tstart=75&trange=15", by tracing into the <jbo:ApplicationModule..> after calling the OrdHttpUploadFormData. HtmlServices.getRequestParameters sends back an exception, that breaks the running of the program. It was temperorily solved by extending the ApplicationModuleTag. If <jbo:..> could use the application module initialized by registerApplicationFromPropertyFile(), I guess it may be a better workaround.

  • How can i find the requested portal page in custom login.jsp

    We are using a customized login, logout and change password page built in JSP.
    The wwsso_ls_configuration_info$ has been updated to point to the customized
    JSP pages. Everything works fine so far but we would like to show different
    content inside the customized login page depending on which portal page that
    was requested.
    eg suppose the user requested a page that belong to page group X we want to
    show login page with html content relevant to page group X. If page group Y is
    requested, then it show relevant information for Y.
    The ssousername, password field and other parameter needed for login page will
    be left to the standard names defined by oracle login requirements.
    For this purpose, we need to find which portal page was requested by user in
    the customized login.jsp( as users tend to bookmark the portal page eg.
    http://domain/portal/page?_pageid=33,30983,33_30985&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL)
    Once i know the requested portal page, i can parse the _pageid to get the page group.

    Were you ever able to get this issue resolved? I would be interested in the solution if one was ever found. Thanks.

  • Ive just learned that i can use loadjava to load jsp pages into the database.

    Ive just learned that i can use loadjava to load jsp pages into the database. How is that possible. How can someone go to my lets say, index.jsp page and actually see it if its inside the database? What authenticates it? Where would you set the parameters to tell http(apache) to look inside the db for the pages?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the reply. If I put the file on the database, does it have to be in a particular location? I've put it on the database server, launched sql*plus (as APPS) and ran the following:
    execute dbms_java.loadjava('-v', 'ZebraGetPrinterFromXML.class');
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.Then when I try to run a process that uses this I get this:
    ORA-29540: class ZebraGetPrinterFromXML does not exist

In search criteria, an area is selected and the data related to that area should be displayed from a table in mysql . It has 100+ records each
    with 6 columns, each page should be displaying 10 records, what we call pagination. I was trying this(in java jsp)( should not do in struts, should be done only in jsp) for a long time. By ur faq, i understood u hava already done it. Pls try to help me. Can u pls send me a sample program regarding this?
    I would be very grateful if u help me.

  • Strange scenario,Oracle can not display the data in mysql correctly

    I use Heterogeneous Service+ODBC to achieve "oracle access mysql"(any other method?),and now i find Oracle can not display the data in mysql correctly:
    -------mysql------------
    mysql> create table tst(id int,name varchar(10));
    Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)
    mysql> insert into tst values(1,'a');
    Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec)
    mysql> select * from tst;
    ------------+
    | id | name |
    ------------+
    | 1 | a |
    ------------+
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)
    mysql> show create table tst\G
    *************************** 1. row ***************************
    Table: tst
    Create Table: CREATE TABLE `tst` (
    `id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL,
    `name` varchar(10) DEFAULT NULL
    ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)
    -------------oracle ------------------
    SQL> select count(*) from "tst"@mysql;
    COUNT(*)
    49
    SQL> select * from "tst"@mysql;
    id
    1
    SQL> desc "tst"@mysql;
    Name Null? Type
    id NUMBER(10)

    You can make the following query on the result page:
    "select * from the_table where movietitle = ? and cinema = ?"
    then you set movietitle and cinema to those which the user selected. If the resultset contains more than 0 rows, that means the movie is available.
    Below is the sample code, it assumes you have a connection to the database:
    PreparedStatement stat = myConnection.prepareStatement("select * from the_table where movietitle = ? and cinema = ?");
    stat.setString(1, usersMovieTitleSelection);
    stat.setString(2, usersCinemaSelection);
    ResultSet res = stat.executeQuery();
    if (res.next()) {
    out.print("The movie is available");
    } else {
    out.print("The movie is not available");
    }Now just add that to your JSP page. Enjoy ! =)

  • Display image on jsp page

    I have to display image on jsp page with some text output. This image is already saved at a location parallel to web-inf and is generated dynamically using a servlet. I have used img tag html to display the image. Other outputs are taking their values from database.
    First problem is that image will be taking time to display in comparision of other outouts from database. I have to refresh the page to get imageon my page.
    Second is that if I save image in a folder parallel to web-inf in my project then it will not be displaying the image.
    Can I use any jsp functionality to display image with other outputs from database. I have used "*include*". but it shows only that image and other outputs.

    Best way is to use a servlet for this.
    <img src="path/to/imageservlet?id=someidentifier">
    <!-- or -->
    <img src="path/to/imageservlet/someidentifier">In the servlet's doGet() just write code which gets an InputStream of the image (either directly generated, or just read from the local disk file system, if necessary with help of ServletContext#getRealPath(), or even from the DB by ResultSet#getBinaryStream()) and writes it to the OutputStream of the response. That's basically all. Don't forget to buffer the streams properly to speedup performance and to save memory.
    You can find here a basic example: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/04/imageservlet.html].

  • More than one business component (views) in the same JSP page

    Hi, I am trying to have more than one business component (views) in the same JSP page as Input Form.
    For example:
    There are two BC4J:
    Person:
    Code.
    Name.
    Address:
         Person_code
         Street.
         City.
    There is a master detail relationship between them and there is a link between both views in the application module.
    I want to create a JSP page with an Input form for both views. When the user decides to create a Person, I need to insert in both tables.
    Insert code and name into Person table.
    Insert Person_code, Street and City into Address table.
    It is possible to do in Forms but I am not sure if I can be able to do this in JDeveloper 10G.
    Thanks

    Sorry I lost the tabs
    Person has two attributes Code and Name.
    Address has three attributes Person_coden Street, City.
