Student deal not received despite working .edu email

Hi,
I do have a working .edu emal, in fact I used to register on the forum.
Yet I can't seem to receive student deal coupons either in my mailbox or my spam folder.
How could fix this since it's one of the main reasons why I would shop at Best Buy in the first place?
Thanks,
Yevan

Hello Yevan,
Signing up for the College Student Deals promotion is a great way to get a great price on a new computer. I very much regret that you've run into obstacles to participating in this offer and I apologize for any inconvenience as a result.
I'll be happy to look into this for you, but I have a few questions: When did you sign up for the College Student Deals? Did you receive a confirmation email afterward? Has it been more than 24 hours since you signed up? Have you consulted your school's IT department to verify whether promotional emails from us (and other sources) are routinely filtered?
I look forward to hearing from you and I'm grateful that you brought your situation to my attention.
Sincerely,
John|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate

  • I do not receive notifications for my email account even though the email setting in Notifications is turned on. How can I fix this?

In iOS 5 I do not receive notifications for my email account even though  the email setting in Notifications is turned on. I do receive other notifications. Does anyone have any suggestion on what is wrong or how I should correct it? Thanks.

    Hey M0904,
I found the following information regarding troubleshooting notifications, I'd run through them and see if they resolve the issue:
    iOS: Understanding Notifications
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3576
    Troubleshooting notifications
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you are not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app at least once to begin receiving notifications.
If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notifications to ensure that the app is configured for notifications.
If notifications do not appear only in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
If you are still unable to receive notifications and you are using a Wi-Fi connection, verify that the network or firewall is not blocking access to port 5223.
    Have a good one,
    David

  • I do not receive Apple ID verification email

I do not receive Apple ID verification email, I have updated my password but the verification email from Apple just doesn't arrive - is there another way to verify?

I followed the chain of messages above trying to find a solution. I have the same problem. I'm syncing my iPhone 5 to iTunes and keep getting messages about all the content that will not sync because "not authorized." So I try to login to my Apple ID
    - password is wrong
    - try reset password
    - chose "send email" but no email arrives (I even check 'junk' folder to be sure)
    - go back to reset password and try "Answer security questions"
    - says my DoB is wrong but I'm sure it's not wrong
So what is the solution? Re-purchase all the content that won't sync?

  • I am not receiving allof my comcast emails on my iphone.  I have reset my email 5 times.

I have reset my phone/email account numerous times and still do not receive all of my emails.  Is there something else I should be doing?

Since Comcast is a POP account, when you retreive emails from the server they are automatically deleted, making them unavailable for other devices to retreive them.  This is the normal behavior of POP accounts unless you change your settings to keep message on the incoming server.  If you are checking your Comcast email on your computer without changing this setting, it may be removing the emails from the server, making them unavailable for your phone to retreive them.  On your phone, go to the settings for your Comcast account under Advanced>Incoming Settings>Delete from Server, set to Never.  You will need to find the similar setting on the email client you use on your computer.

  • College Student Deals Not Working - MacBook Pro

I went to my local bestbuy store to buy a MacBook Pro. I asked the sales associate if they offered a discount for college students because I am buying this laptop for college. He said yes you can get $150 off your MBP and directed me to "www.bestbuy.com/studentdeals". I signed up with my ".edu" email and received an email requesting confirmation. I confirmed my email and waited for the coupon deals for about 2 hours in store, but ended up going home because I didn't receive email. I called customer service multiple times and they were no help either. Any idea what the problem is? Any solution??

    Hello Singh/ae1222-
Given how cash-strapped most college students typically are, every little bit of savings you can get will definitely help!  I’m sorry to hear that you have not received your email with the details and coupons for our student deals.
While usually those emails will show up with an hour or two, there are times where it can take up to 24 hours as the email address does go through a verification process.  In addition, some schools have filters in place on their email addresses that block marketing-type emails such as this from coming through.
If you haven’t received your email, I would recommend checking with the IT department at your school to see if this is an issue.  Otherwise, you can also send me a Private Message with your .edu email address and I can see if we can check on it for you.

  • College Student Deals Not Working - Pebble watch

Can you please help? I have been trying for three days to get a response from the college student deal was well. I really want to purchase a macbook air for my daughter but every time I ask if she's received an email, she hasn't. This is frustrating as we are ready to make our purchase and can't get any straight answer from customer service except to wait for the coupon to appear.
ANy help would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the Best Buy forums!
I’m sure that your daughter is really looking forward to getting that MacBook Air for her schoolwork and hopefully we can help her out with one of those student deals!  I’m sorry to hear that she hasn’t received any emails yet from when she signed up.
Usually, most of the signups with an .edu email will take a few hours to confirm, but there are times where it may take 24-48 hours.  Please also keep in mind that these emails may also be forwarded to her Spam/Junk mail folders and that some schools block marketing emails as well.  If she has not received that email yet after 48 hours, I would have her follow up with her school’s IT department to make sure that they do not block them.
    Thanks for connecting with us!

    Hello there rgadde123,
Gaining access to our College Student Deals is crucial as being a student isn’t easy, so every way you can get a little help is crucial. If you weren’t immediately seeing the coupons, I can understand why you may be confused and concerned after signing up multiple times. That being said, if you go to the email you received and click on “See All The Deals” it will link you to a page you may either print out, or use the codes listed to make your purchases on BestBuy.com. If you should have any trouble, please let me know!

  • College Student Deal Never Received

    Hi,
I registered my .edu e-mail for the college student deal about 6 hours ago, and after the website "accepted" my address, I never received further correspondence with the coupon codes that were promised in the initial e-mail. I also just spoke to someone in customer service who said my e-mail was accepted and encouraged me to check with the IT department of my school and my spam/promotions folders. My folders do not have anything, and I checked with the IT department and they have no block on such incoming e-mails.
Could someone point me in the right direction to rectify this? My computer broke and I need to purchased a replacement in the next few days and I really want to take advantage of the $150 MacBooks for college students.
    Thank you!

    Hello jking7,
Purchasing a new computer is a very exciting time, especially for those like me who crave new technology. However, I’m sorry to hear your future purchase may be due to your previous computer breaking! I am happy to know that we’ll be able to save you some money on your new computer with our College Student Deals. It sounds like while your .edu email address was accepted, you’re yet to receive any coupons. I greatly apologize and I’m happy to look into this further.
Since you received the original confirmation email, I can only assume that your school should be allowing the emails that are coming from Best Buy. The fact that you checked with your IT department further ensures this. While the coupon emails usually show up within a few hours, there are times where it can take up to 24 hours while everything is verified with your email address and school.
As you were previously advised, please double check your spam/junk email folders to see if you’ve now received the coupons. If not, and 24 hours has elapsed, please send me a private message with your full name, and the email address you used to register for the College Student Deals promotion. To send me a private message, simply click the link in my signature.
Thanks for posting, and please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need further assistance with this. If you’ve received your coupons, then I hope you enjoy your new MacBook!

  • College student coupons not received after 3 days of waiting

I signed up in store on Sunday, 10/5/2014 to receive college student coupons. They have yet to arrive. I got the message to confirm my address, which I did. I have also since gotten some email spam from Best Buy, so I know that those messages aren't being held up by my university.
I need assistance, please. I have signed up in the past for Best Buy college student coupons (different university, different address) and I didn't have any problem. Got the coupons right there in the store while I was waiting.
I had to go ahead and purchase the laptop that I needed and the store manager said I could return with the coupons to get a refund for the extra money I paid.
I'm extremely frustrated with this. Your email spam is no problem and I'm aware of all your current sales, but the coupons mysteriously are unable to be sent? Come on.
Any help here would be more than appreciated. I've been patient, but this is a bit ridiculous.

    Hi bunnicula,
Being that you needed to purchase this laptop in advance of receiving the coupons, I can completely understand you wanting to receive the coupons as soon as possible. I am looking into this for you, and as soon as I have more information I will post back to this thread. I am assuming the .edu email address used to request these coupons is the one you used to register for this forum?
    Thanks for posting,

  • Not receiving inbox messages & one email I've sent keeps bouncing back bogging up my i

    Hello.
I have a new MACBOOK PRO and I love it BUT.....
I have been having one specific email bounce back into my inbox (recovered messages section) over 1,000x's a day.
I keep deleting the messages and emptying the trash to try to stop it but its not working!!!
I contacted the person who i sent the email too and told them what was happening. Their response was, "its not coming from this end, check with your web guy..." UGH!!!
I am now not receiving any new incoming messages and I have had to result in using my iphone to check my inbox, every  day!!
How do I fix this problem? OR......Should I just make a Genius appointment?? LOL
    Thx! Nikki

    Hi Nikki,
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist.

  • Not receiving some CC'd emails

    Hi all!
I have been experiencing a peculiar thing recently and want to know if anybody is aware of a fix (or even a common bug).
I am in the habit of having all outgoing messages CC'd to me (it's a work thing). Recently, I have not received all copies even though my outgoing messages are showing in the sent box. I am using Mobile Me - my address is a mac.com address. This does not happen all the time, just intermittently. I could send out 3 emails and I might receive the CC on just 2 of them. Kinda strange.
The only reason this concerns me is I use the CC to verify the message was actually sent (and to have a copy for my records). When I don't receive the copy I get a little worried.
Any ideas on what the problem might be?
Thanks for any help. I can't even tell you how many headaches these discussions have saved me. I really appreciate it.

If you logon to your webmail account using a browser and there are no emails getting received, then when Thunderbird connects to server it will not see them either because it is looking at the same folders.
If emails are not getting through to the server, first check to see if you have used up your quota on the server. The server cannot receive any email if there is no room.
In Account settings > Server settings. Check that cleanup (:expunge") is turned on then exit and restart Thunderbird.
Give some time for thunderbird to 'chat' with the server. This should make sure that 'deleted' mail is really deleted amd not using up much needed space.
In thunderbird, if you use your gmail account and send an email to yourself - to the account that is currently not receiving email, do you get a Mailer Daemon email received by the gmail account...it might offer a clue as to what is going on.
