Studio Creator - How to set -source

Trying to compile a Java 5 style project the studio creator suggests
to set
' -source 1.5'
Where exactly is this to be set?

  • New to workshop: how to set source file path

    Hello,
    I am new to workshop. I used to use Jdeveloper where I can set project settings to specify java source root and html source root. that way, my source code does not need to be under the standard directory app/project/src/....
    I am wondering if workshop can do the same thing?
    I tried to use import function, but it only copy the files over to its standard directory.

    You can access the columns through the dataGrid.columns array
    property.
    Get a reference to that array from the DG into a variable,
    modify the column elements as desired through that var, then
    re-assign the var to the dg.columns property. So you are close:
    var aColumns:Array = dataGridID.columns;
    var dgc:DataGridColumn = aColumns[1];
    dgc.headerText = "this is column 1";
    dataGridID.columns = aColumns; //this step is required!

  • How to set the output in a Portlet?

    Hi,
    I'm creating a JSR-168 JSF Portlet application using Java Sun Studio Creator 2 Update 1. In my simple portlet, I want to be able to click a button and then see a page with a static text saying 'Button Clicked'. In my application:

  • How do I update my studio creator from source 1.4 to 1.5

    every time I try to make a foreach loop this message follows
    for-each loops are not supported in -source 1.4
    (try -source 1.5 to enable for-each loops)
    how can I get source 1.5

    Please see this FAQ "Does Java Studio Creator support Java 5?"at http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/faqs/configuration/index.html
    Does Java Studio Creator support Java 5?
    The Java Studio Creator IDE does run on the Java 5 platform, however all web applications are constrained to being compiled and run with a target Java 1.4 platform.
    For a Java Class Library project, it is possible to choose a target platform of 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5 ... but only 1.4 libraries will work with a Java Studio Creator generated application.
    Also: http://swforum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=123&threadID=59829
    btw, <creator_userdir>/build.properties defines the user properties and defines the variable "default.javac.source" which is set to 1.4 by default. Not sure if changing it to 1.5 helps...

  • How to change the source level in java Studio creator

    Hi,
    I am using Sun Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 IDE, in this IDE how to change the source level to 1.5 for an existing project.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rajesh.

    Hi!
    Unfortunately Sun Java Studio Creator 2 Update 1 doesn't support 1.5 source level. But You can try to download NetBeans IDE (from http://www.netbeans.org) and there with Visual Web project You will find the same functionality as for Creator. And 1.5 source level is supported by NetBeans.
    Thanks,

    Basically this is what i am trying to do.
    in my web page or frame i have an list box on the left
    based on the values selected in the list the information is displayed on the right which has bunch of text boxes.
    through me an idea how to do this using Sun Java Studio Creator.
    Thanks
    Senthil

    As of 1.0 Creator doesn't support creating HTML frames via the designer. However, it may be possible to edit the JSP source to include one by hand.
    Have you tried Page Fragments?

  • How to do internationalization with Sun Java Studio Creator?

    Hi everybody,
    the Sun Java Studio Creator seems to be a great peace of software ;-) Currently I'm trying to design some forms for a hello-world-test-project. My question now is: how can I realize internationalization with property-bundles? I already managed it to create my own bundles, I set up a few locales (de, en, fr) and put in some "SayHello" Variables. But how can I associate my locale-variables in the .propertie-files with the value- or text-attributes of the UI-Components using the form designer?

    well... it's not working!
    I created some locale-properties. Put a
    <f:loadBundle basename="mypackage.mainlocales" var="messages"/>directly under the "<f:view>"-Tag as it is descriped in the manual.
    But when I write something like
    <ui:label binding="#{sites$main$mainmenu.label1}" id="label1" style="position: absolute; left: 312px; top: 168px" text="#{messages.test}"/>The designer crashes with an error-message:

  • Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte: How to set the output path for classes ?

    Help !
    Beginner's question:
    Sun ONE Studio 4 aka Forte:
    How to set the output path for classes ?
    As default, the class files are created in the same directory as the
    sources.
    In opposite, both JBuilder and Together support that there is a tree
    with the sources and another tree with the classes.
    The first answer I got was "not possible with Forte, but just if you write your own "ANT Build script" !
    a) Please point me to a ready-to-use ANT script for this purpose, if such is available
    b) Is using ANT instead of the MAKE as comfortable ? Besides the separation of sourcecode and classes, I would like to keep everything else to be the same, i.e. I dont want to edit the ANT file if I enlarge the project by directories or files.
    Tia
    Sincerely
    Rolf

    You can set S1S's options to place newly created .class files in a specific location.
    Identify the compiler that is being used - Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Editing and select Java Sources. Note the Default Compiler value. (If it's one if the Ant options, you use Ant to specify this option, not S1S.)
    Open the S1S's Tools/Options window, expand Building/Compiler Types and select the appropriate compiler.
    The Properties tab of the compiler has the property Target, which sets the filesystem where the compiler output is directed. If you choose <not set>, the .class files are written to their source directory.
    When you set the Target, your change affects all classes that use this compiler.
    Very few options can't be set in S1S; the challenge is finding out where they're set!

  • How to avoid Java Studio Creator 2 to use the regional settings?

    How to avoid Java Studio Creator 2 to use the regional settings to select the language that will be used to display the IDE in a certain language?
    My country settings are set to Belgium (French) but I want to have my IDE running in English.
    What should I change in the defautl properties of JSC2 to avoid this behaviour?
    Please, don't tell me to change my regional settings, it is not a valid answer :-)
    Best regards,

    just modify creator.conf in directory etc/
    add: -J-Duser.language=en
    in the netbeans_default_options line:
    like this:
    netbeans_default_options="-J-Duser.language=en -J-Xms96m -J-Xmx384m -J-XX:PermSize=32m -J-XX:MaxPermSize=128m -J-XX:+CMSClassUnloadingEnabled -J-XX:+CMSPermGenSweepingEnabled -J-Xverify:none -J-Dnetbeans.javacore.background_scanning=true -J-Dsunappsrvint.home=\"C:\Program Files\Sun\Creator2\SunAppServer8\""

  • How to set alias using Essbase Studio?

    I have read through P113-P118 "Oracle Essbase Studio User Guide" about the how to set up alias. It seems easy t create the Alias Set according to the document.
    I want to set 100-10 alias as "Cola", the information comes from the TBC relational database. The product table in RLDB has field SKU and SKU_Alias columns, the value of SKU is: 100-10,100-20, etc.
    My binding is:
    Source: SKU
    connection : TBC::TBC.Product.SKU_ALIAS
    This is using the grammer in page 115
    connection :
    \'<logical_source_name'::'<physical_data_source_name>.<physical_tabl
    e_name>'.'<physical_column_name>'
    But after I deployed the cube, I cannot see the product alias name as expected from EAS? I tried 100 times, but cannot find what's wrong with me. Please advise, thanks!
    My question: How to set up or associate the alias set with the product items from Essbase Studio so that I can see it from EAS? thanks! Bob
    Edited by: user2571802 on Jan 10, 2010 9:38 PM

    First it may be useful to convert the EIS TBC model to Studio, to do this you would have to configure EIS and create the TBC sample application.
    Once it has been created in Studio you can go to Tools > EIS Catalog migration and migrate the TBC app from EIS to Studio.
    If you use this method all the aliases etc will be already set up so you can see how it is done.
    To set up Aliases you would go to
    Tools > "Alias set Manager" > Create a new alias say "Default" and add a binding e.g. PRODUCTDIM.SKU to PRODUCTDIM.SKUALIAS
    Then on your Model right click "Essbase Properties" > Alias tab > Select the Default alias table and move to the selected tables window.
    This should of then assigned the default table, if you check the properties of say PRODUCTDIM.SKU in the alias tab Default and the mapping should be shown.
    Cheers

    AFAIK, this is not the correct way to set the image location.
    We call the working directory as context, so inside the context root along with WEB-INF, maintain a folder with name img and put all the images in that directory.
    You can use either .\<image_folder> or the optimum way would be (if you are using JSPs) to use getContext() method and traverse accordingly.
    FYI,,, using getContext() will give you context root directory, from there it is as simple as accessing any other folder.
    Hope this answers your question.
    Cheers,
    Jeets.

  • How to set JDBC Data Sources in Oracle MapViewer for Oracle database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1)

    How to set JDBC Data Sources in Oracle MapViewer for Oracle database 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1)?
    The following is my configuration in the conf\mapViewerConfig.xml:
    <map_data_source name="mvdemo12"
    jdbc_host="127.0.0.1"
    jdbc_sid="orcl12c1"
    jdbc_port="1522"
    jdbc_user="mvdemo"
    jdbc_password="7OVl2rJ+hOYxG5T3vKJQb+hW4NPgy9EN"
    jdbc_mode="thin"
    number_of_mappers="3"
    allow_jdbc_theme_based_foi="true"
    editable="true"/>
    <!--  ****  -->
    But it does not work.
    After use "sqlplus mvdemo/[email protected]:1522/pdborcl", it connected to the Oracle database 12c.
    Does anyone know it?
    Thanks,

    For 11.1.1.7.1 use the syntax for jdbc_sid, i.e.
    //mypdb1.foo.com as described in the README,
    - MapViewer native (non-container) data sources can now use database service name in place of SID. To supply a db service name, you will use the same jdbc_sid attribute, but specify the service name with double slashes in front, such as follows:
      <map_data_source name="myds"
        jdbc_host="foo.com"
        jdbc_sid="//mypdb1.foo.com"
        jdbc_port="1522"
      />
    For 11.1.1.7.0 use a container_ds instead.
    i.e. instead of using
    <map_data_source name="my_12c_test"
                       jdbc_host="mydbinstance"
                       jdbc_sid="pdborcl12c"
                       jdbc_port="1522"
                       jdbc_user="mytestuser"
                       jdbc_password="m2E7T48U3LfRjKwR0YFETQcjNb4gCMLG8/X0KWjO00Q="
                       jdbc_mode="thin"
                       number_of_mappers="6"
                       allow_jdbc_theme_based_foi="false"
                       editable="false"
       />
    use
      <map_data_source name="my_12c_test"
                       container_ds="jdbc/db12c"
                       number_of_mappers="6"
                       allow_jdbc_theme_based_foi="false"
                       editable="false"
       />
    In my case the Glassfish 3.1.2.2 JDBC connection pool definition was
    Property
    url  jdbc:oracle:thin:@mydbinstance:1522/pdborcl12c.rest_of.service.name
    Uncheck the Wrap JDBC Objects option in Advanced panel, i.e. the Edit JDBC Connection Pool Advanced properties page.
    Add a JDBC resource for that newly created pool
    Use that in mapviewerconfig.xml as above
