Stupid 3 hour time limit...

I've been using Adobe Audition 1.5 for years, with perfect success, but last week i decided to install the CS5 suite. Fine.
Yesterday, I go to look for Audition, and it's gone...like there was some conflict. My system (Windows 7) wouldn't even let me reinstall it.
Anyway, so I decided to learn Soundbooth really quickly, which I did successfully, to do some audio recording of an important meeting. I set it up, did some testing, and voila I'm recording.
It's a 5 hour meeting, so I monitor it for an hour or so and then tackle other tasks. I come back at th end of the meeting and the recording has stopped! What the hell!I l lost 2 hours of recording to oblivion.
I did a test later on, and the same thing. Recording will only capture exactly 3 hours.
I had plenty of HD space and I looked through the preferences and there doesn't seem to be any way to change this. With Audition, I could record for 8 hours or longer, as long as I had the HD space.
So, what's up with Soundbooth? So far it seems inferior to the five-year-old Audition software i had been using.

If you are syncing your iPhone calendar events with iCal, do you have Time Zone Support enabled with iCal, and do you have Time Zone Support enabled with your iPhone?
If yes, confirm your time zone settings on your Mac at System Preferences > Date & Time under the Time Zone tab.
And on your iPhone at Settings > Mail > Contacts > Calendars under the Calendars section > Time Zone Support.

    I rented a Movie and it has been loading for 3 hours now. Internet connection is fine. Have never had a problem with this before. What's really annoying is that the 24 hour time limit is counting down even though we cant watch it. Any suggestions?

    The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
    HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.
    Additionally, your 24 hours don't start until you begin to watch the movie, you have 30 days to start watching the movie.

  • 4 hour time limit?

    i'm trying to add 6 hours of footage to the timeline and it's coming up with a 4 hour time limit?

    Besides that a 6 hour movie should be something like 80 GB-or a little less.Your PB must be quite different to mine...

  • Movie rental time limit: 24 hours not enough?

    If I am in the middle of watching a movie and the 24 hour limit is up, does the movie just quit or will it keep playing until it's finished?
    And is it just me, or is 24 hours not long enough? Suppose at 7:00 I decide to rent Cinderella for the kids, but by 8:00 they're all asleep. They'll have to wait until the next night to watch it, but unfortunately when the clock strikes 7, the rental, like Cinderella's coach disappears. It might play to completion if I start it at 6:59, but if I wait until 7:01 to continue it, I'm SOL
    Wouldn't a 30-hour time limit make more sense?

    My previous post regarding this issue was pulled due to "inappropriate non-technical issues". So i will try to be more technical. I downloaded a movie over a three day period only to find that the movie had a 2 hr window left after the download was finished. This was due to the fact that i clicked on the rented movie icon to see what it was (this was my first time renting). The movie played for 10 sec. then i stopped it. I guess i was unaware of the 24 hour limit.
    I feel that if you have a 3o day rental...you should be able to view the movie for 30 days, and as many times as you wish during that 30 days. Its good enough for Netflix and the like. I don't think I'll rent anymore form iTunes.
    That is my two cents.

  • Can I set a time limit for connection to a certain WLAN?

    I would like to set a time limit for how long a client can be continously connected to the WLAN that provides my guest internet access. The user name/password is hosted on my ACS and authentication is provided by my Cisco NAC. I am using 5508 controllers (7.02) and WCS.
    Somewhere in this combination of stuff, there has to be a way to set a two hour time limit.

    If you are looking for your guest to get kicked off which requires them to log back in .. One option would be to set the WLAN session timeout to 2 hours.

  • Stupid time limit driv

    Ok,
    I want to know who's idea it was to put a time limit on the 2.09 drivers!
    If Creative isn't going to release drivers for 7-8 month stretches they can't put time limits on drivers that fix people's issues.
    Holy crap! I wasn't able to play BF2 with any driver version but 2.09 and have the X-Fi hardware profile turned on. Now I can't play. Thanks so much!
    How easy would it have been to just not put the @#$#ing time limit in the driver package. Maybe your driver team should concentrate on writing more than a line of code a day instead of how to make users more pissed off with this hardware.
    Ban me. I don't care anymore. You have made me sooooo mad. My problems were fixed over a month ago and you disabled them! @#$#@!!!
    The X-Fi has been one of the worst purchases I have made in 20 years of gaming. The funny part is that the hardware is pretty good. The drivers are terrible and the corporate policies governing the software engineer(s) further compounds the issues with half baked drivers and an obviously under manned drivers team. ( guy?)
    If there was ANY other hardware accelerated card on the market I'd be using it.

    Can't u just set back the date on your rig?
    To like march or sumthin? Might crash with other progs, but worth a shot.

  • Help creating a script to move users in and out of an OU based on a time limit

    Here's my scenario: we currently have OUs based on the locations of our facilities, we also have a sub-OU(?) underneath it for users that need a group policy applied to them where whitelist applications allowed to run. From time to time we have need to pull
    users out of that sub-OU for a short period of time to let them run applications they normally wouldn't be able to and won't need to run long term. Sometimes we also forget to add these people back into that policy controlled sub-OU because we get busy do
    other things. Server is 2008 R2.
    Here's what I'm looking for: A script that prompts for the users name, pulls that user out of the sub-OU, puts them in the main OU but only for 24 hours. After that time limit is up, a script/command runs that puts the user back in the policy controlled
    sub-OU. I'm thinking a PS script would be the best way to do this.
    Research: Looking at these posts here and here I'm
    thinking I should be able to Frankenstein something together but I have very limited PS scripting experience.
    Can anyone help me create this?

    You've probably figured this out, but we're not typically in the business of writing complete solutions for people. With that said, there are projects I find particularly interesting, such as this one, where I am willing to help get someone started if they
    are willing to take the time to work through the examples and learn from them.
    You have two requests - one is a script that prompts for a user it then moves to a different  location in Active Directory. The second request is a way to move them back without manual interaction. This will require an automated task (scheduled task)
    that will run at select times during a day.
    Here's the first script (1/2): The first two lines set two different variables. The first line sets the $OUPath variable to the SubOU. The second line prompts for a user and, once a user is entered, sets that user to the $User variable. It then runs the
    first try-catch, attempting to replace the $User variable with the data returned from the Get-ADUser cmdlet. Notice the use of the -Properties parameter. By default the modified date and the extensionAttributes are not returned. We will be using the modified
    date so we can be certain that 24 hours passes before we move them back (see part 2/2). Including extensionAttribute13 will ensure we only move users out of the OU if they were moved in by the script. Note: The modified date on a user in AD is changed when
    it is moved from one OU to another. If the user cannot be located in the first try-catch it will say it cannot locate the user in Active Directory. If it can locate it, it will set the $User variable, as described so far, and then move on.
    In the second (or, nested) try-catch we split the user's DistingusihedName at the first comma so that we have two parts. We use the second part (that doesn't include their CN) and see if that matches the $OUPath variable. If it does match then that user
    has already been moved. If it doesn't match then we 1. Move the user, 2. Replace extensionAttribute13 with the string 'MovedUser,' and 3. Output that the user has been moved.
    $OUPath = 'OU=SubOU,OU=MainOU,DC=mydomain,DC=com'
    $User = Read-Host -Prompt 'Enter SamAccountName'
    try {
    $User = Get-ADUser -Identity $User -Properties Modified,extensionAttribute13
    try {
    If ($User.DistinguishedName.Split(',',2) -eq $OUPath) {
    Write-Output -Verbose 'User already moved.'
    } Else {
    Move-ADObject -Identity $User.DistinguishedName -TargetPath $OUPath
    Set-ADUser -Identity $User.SamAccountName -Replace @{extensionAttribute13='MovedUser'}
    Write-Output "'$($User.SamAccountName)' has been moved."
    catch {
    Write-Output "'$($User.SamAccountName)' cannot be moved."
    catch {
    Write-Output -Verbose "Unable to locate '$User' in Active Directory."
    The second script (2/2): Here we also set a couple variables - one is the SubOU's DistinguishedName where we want to return the user and the other is the all of the users from the MainOU. Foreach user in $Users we check if their extensionAttribute13 is set
    to 'MovedUser' and if their modified date is greater than or equal (-ge) to 24 hours. If it is, the script will move the user, clear extensionAttribute13, and let us know the user was moved. If for some reason your $OUPath variable is wrong, the script will
    run the catch portion of the only try-catch we used in this script. Again, you'll have to schedule Task Scheduler to run this script. Good luck!
    $OUPath = 'OU=MainOU,DC=mydomain,DC=com'
    $Users = Get-ADUser -Filter * -SearchBase $OUPath -Properties Modified,extensionAttribute13
    Foreach ($User in $Users) {
    $TimeSince = New-TimeSpan -Start $User.Modified -End (Get-Date)
    If ($User.extensionAttribute13 -eq 'MovedUser' -and $TimeSince.Hours -ge 24) {
    try {
    Move-ADObject -Identity $User.DistinguishedName -TargetPath $OUPath
    Set-ADUser -Identity $User.SamAccountName -Clear extensionAttribute13
    Write-Output "$($User.SamAccountName) has been moved."
    catch {
    Write-Output "$($User.SamAccountName) cannot be moved."
    } Else {
    Write-Output 'No Users to move.'
    If you decide to use this, be sure to change the paths you use for the $OUPath variables. Also, if you're using this with PowerShell 2.0, you will need to use the Import-Module cmdlet to import the ActiveDirectory module. In versions above 2.0 it will be
    imported automatically if you try to use an AD cmdlet.

  • IDoc Tracking: TIME LIMIT EXCEEDED

    Hello!
    We have about 15 different R/3 platforms connected to XI using the IDoc adapter. If I use the IDoc Tracking functionality in IDX5 it usually is working fine and the IDoc number in the receiving system and IDoc status are returned within seconds.
    However, for one R/3 platform it was always taking about 30 minutes until the IDoc number and IDoc status were returned. The status bar displays that the IDOC_DATE_TIME_GET function module is executed.
    Now it runs for over one hour until it stops with a TIME LIMIT EXCEEDED error message and no IDoc numbers and status is returned any more. What needs to be corrected to speed up IDoc tracking for this particular system?

  • Size/time limit for AppleTV movie files?

    Scenario: I have a few hundred iMovie projects that I want to convert to AppleTV movies. My first project was just under two hours, and it converted fine. The second project was just under three hours total (33GB .DV file), and it crashed at 99% completion on two separate tries, giving me a cryptic error message (15+ hours processing time each attempt -- aargh). I am using the latest version of QuickTime Pro to convert the projects, and not running anything else during the conversions.
    Right now the only solution that seems to work is to split anything over 2 hours into two parts, which seems kind of pointless and diminishes the advantage of the whole AppleTV concept in the first place. Granted most of the projects are around 2 hours, so most of the time it won't be an issue, just on the longer iMovies.
    Anyone know if there is a size/time limit to files that you can convert? Would it be better to import the .DV files into iTunes and try to convert them there instead? Or is there a way to do it from iMovie (I am using the original iMovie HD version from a few years back). Thanks.

    Thanks Winston & Alley Cat for your insights -- I figured I would just do a straight QT conversion to the proper specs and did manage to find it by digging around a bit. In Export(Share) / QuickTime / Expert Settings there is a preset for AppleTV buried deep in there.
    Sorry, I feel like a bonehead for not being able to locate this option earlier. I thought QuickTime Pro was one of the few apps that could only do this conversion, thinking that my version of iMovie HD (circa 2006) was too old to have the AppleTV preset. (Must have been added during one of the QuickTime updates.)
    Anyways, success to report. I tried re-converting the file (2 hours 47 minutes length) and it worked this time. The total conversion time was actually quite a bit faster than QT Pro plus it takes one less step now. I don't know why it is so much faster than QT Pro, but it compressed to the right specs H.264 AAC codec and aspect ratio.
    BTW, I really, really like my AppleTV. Not perfect, but it sure is cool and everyone who comes over and sees it is kind of blown away by what this little box can do.

  • How to make an exception to RDS session Idle Time Limit?

    A little bit of background:
    We are running WYSE Thin Clients to connect to a RDS server farm at our company. We have set the Idle Session Time Limit to 12 hours, in Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration (in Connection --> Properties --> Sessions tab). This limit
    is a site requirement.
    The issue: We would like to configure a few accounts to stay logged into the RDS server indefinitely, past the 12 hour limit. How can we do this without changing the time limit for everyone?
    I have tried a script to simulate mouse movements/key presses at intervals on the client session to trick RDS, but Remote Desktop Service Manager does not show that the script affects the idle time for that client. Is there another automatic way to simulate
    user input to keep the client session active? What kind of hardware interrupt is RDS hooking into to determine that a human input has been pressed? A script would be the least intrusive to our infrastructure so if it is possible this is definitely preferred.
    I've heard that Group Policy may be a solution here - but our local IT department do not have admin access to the Domain Controller for our site, it is managed by a third party. However, if I were to solve this using group policy, what would be the
    steps? I would appreciate a step-by-step walk through if it is possible. We would have hundreds of users that need the 12 hour limit applied, and only a few that needs the infinite logon - so please keep practicality in mind.
    Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    In your case, I would like to suggest the steps for you. Yes, you need to take this successful via group policy.
    You can create 2 group: Just for reference:
    Group 1- MinLoginTime
    Group 2-MaxLoginTime
    Add the required users to particular group.
    Users upto 12Hrs- MinLoginTime
    Users above 12 Hrs- MaxLoginTime
    Now need to apply group policy setting on this required groups.
    Group 1- MinLoginTime:
    Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions-
    Enable -Set 12 Hrs
    End Session when time limits are reached- Enable
    This is because it will disconnect the session of your users who reached to 12 hrs.
    Group 2-MaxLoginTime:
    Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions-
    Not configured\Disable
    If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, this policy setting is not specified at the Group Policy level. By default, Remote Desktop Services allows sessions to remain active for an unlimited amount of time.
    You can find the above setting option under below mention path.
    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
    User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Session Time Limits
    Note: These Group Policy settings will take precedence over the settings configured in Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration. If both the Computer Configuration and the User Configuration policy settings are configured, the Computer Configuration policy
    settings take precedence.
    More information:

    Hope it helps!

  • How can I enforce a time limit across 2 iMacs?

    I have 2 iMacs in my house, 1 is my lil sister's iMac and one is mine, hers has gotten old and slow. On it she has parental controls allowing her to be on for certain times of the day for a certain amount of time. I'd like to make her account on my computer that she can use also, but I want to enforce the same parental controls as on the other iMac. My problem comes in with, how do I get the time limit to sync between the iMacs? So that she can't in theory use one imac till her 2 hours is up then come use mine for a bonus 2 hours; instead she should be restricted to 2 hours no matter wich iMac she divides up the time on.

    I havent tried this but you might be able to sync the preference for parental controls between the two computers via sync software such as Chronosync, dropbox or maybe even iCloud. I dont know of any quick way to do that and this method is getting into a more advanced configuration. Its interesting to see in mountain lion that you can copy and paste the settings by clicking on the gear icon in System Preferences:Parental Controls. What system are you using on each machine?

  • Is there a time limit on downloads from the AppStore

    I have only wireless Internet access, with a monthly quota of 10GB after which the transfer speed becomes even worse than usual. Frequently downloads fail after a considerable time (which doesn't help with my monthly quota, of course). As an example, I have just tried to download iTunes v12 (with my monthly quota exhausted) and that failed after about 3 hours and 160GB. Frustrating and makes something like downloading Yosemite virtually impossible.
    Does anyone know whether the App Store places a time limit on downloads and then terminates them? That's the impression I have. Sometimes I have had more success using the Speed Download program but it isn't always possible to find the necessary URL.
    Thanks for any help.

    i dont think there are how many hours are we talking about?

  • Time limit on multiple imacs

    I would like to restrict the access to the computers for my kids. I want to use the parental controls to limit their time. This is pretty straight forward but I have two iMacs in the house.
    I would like to limit the time on the computers to an hour a day. But because I have two computers I need to limit the time on each to a half an hour.
    What I'd really like is to have a user account shared between both computers and only set the time limit to an hour and not have to split the time.
    I don't want to completely block one computer to the kids. I'd rather they would use their time concurrently. This way they're potentially done in one hour rather than two.

    Maybe this application will do what you want.

    I want to limit it's use to one hour a night only and maybe two on the weekend.

    You can count the numer of times something occurs and use that as a condition to stop things.  How you go about stopping things depends on how your animation is set up.  If it is a straight timeline animation, you would just use a stop(); command.
