Stuttering sound on HP elitebook

I'm having the same problem with my audio that many others have complained about.  It's a stuttering noise every 30 seconds or so, that is not resolved when bypassing the speakers by using headphones.  Other users recommended using an older version of HP power assistant to solve the problem, but the links that were posted no longer work.  Can someone please post for me a current link to the appropriate software download so I can fix this problem?

Hi:
If you don't want to uninstall the program completely, here is the link to the version that the folks said worked without issues (version 2.0.5.1).

  • Stuttering sound, keyboard

The stuttering sound, mouse topic seems related, but who knows
I have no problems with my mouse, however when I have my PS/2 keyboard’s keys depressed (say, Shift or Ctrl), or when I type (just normally), the sound would jitter!  I can’t get around the problem, and unlike the linked topic, I do NOT have SATA drivers installed.
I’m using the latest nVidia drivers for my nForce2 (4.62).
Also, at times the sound will just start to crackle a lot (that’s without me even touching the keyboard), until I stop the music and start it again.  It doesn’t matter if it’s WaveOut or DirectSound — the only thing that /always/ works is FooBar2000’s ‘Kernel Streaming’.  I have a short recording of this one, so it is NOT my speakers/headphones.
    Any ideas?

    Hi King_Penguin,
Earlier I had a Windows XP and iPhone4. So photos taken from iPhone4 were copied to Windows XP machine using iTunes and then iTunes syncs these photos to iPad.
Now that Windows XP is no more and instead now I have a new Windows 7 machine and my Macbook. I didn't copied the photos from Windows XP to some external storage medium before dismantling that windows XP machine.
So the only location where these pics and videos are available now is my iPad (1'st Generation).
WIll a new copy of iTunes on Windows 7 be able to copy the pics and videos from this iPad?
    Any suggestion?

  • FOUND SOLUTION FOR dv7 4121er STUTTERING SOUND!!!

    Alright. Sorry for bad english.
I got new Pavilion dv7 4121er with stuttering sound/glitching/laggy games from the box. Lurking this forum got and try many different solutions for resolving this issue. Nothing work.
So let me be close to the problem - i just noted (thanx for RamonGutierrez on this forum for idea) that my HDD led very often turn red\orange and right for that - i got slow performance in gaming\loading stuff etc. So definetely something wrong with HDD. Then, lurking more - HP got utility "HP 3D Drive guard". This utility prevent damage for HDD in case of laptop just dropped on the floor. This utility parking heads of HDD and do it VERY often. So i just turn this utility OFF (unintall or just disable i think it's no difference). And restart PC. Gues what? NO MORE RED HDD LED. Just virgin white when data transmitted, NO AUDIO STUTTERING AT ALL (at least 4 hour with BFBC 2 and GTA 4 testing) and no laaaag or long loading in games!
Hope this is the solution! Worked for me anyway! Good luck!

Apparently HP 3D DriveGuard is already disabled for me (I never messed around with it and it was already disabled) yet I still have the problem. Why do I think this guy is just making false claims, possibly working for HP to make people keep their defective computers with the hope of a fix?
    You got me buddy!
In fact, I do not agitate anyone had not returned their laptops and wait for a solution. I was going to return the laptop. Just in Russia is not so simple. I just described the solution that helped me personally on my laptop model. I'm not saying that it fit all. But I see that this solution has worked not only for me.
And then - you say yourself that the HDD light continues to blink red/orange! That because HDD STILL parking his heads all the time. Why? I dunno... Maybe someone else do. Try to ask RamonGutierrez - hi's just replace HDD in laptop - and problem was solved. Still im sure that was NOT IDT Audio Codec bug in my case.

  • Stuttering sounds in games under Vista 32-bit

Every minute or so when I'm in any game in Vista (tried World of Goo, Crysis, Spore), the sound stutters for a couple of seconds. I think it is just a sound issue because the framerate doesn't seem to slow down during the stuttering sound. I tried reinstalling the Boot Camp drivers and even completely reinstalling Vista, and the issue is still there. Any ideas?

So it is the wireless drivers. Pretty much thought so.
Oh well, too late for me, it was so incredibly bad for me, I gave up. All week trying to wrangle first the sound drivers, then the network drivers, and couldn't get it fixed. Could /slightly/ reduce it by fiddling with which band it was on, but it would still keep stuttering to a point where it just wasn't working for my requirements. Took it back <week after purchase and got a full refund. Have to say, they did look after me well and offered to help me in shop if this problem gets resolved. I'd still recommend one to anyone who doesn't have the need for Vista64, and I'd get it again once I heard it was fixed (and had a chance to test personally).
Amazing really that there's no decently working drivers for this. People are reporting sluggish network access, crashes, stuttering sound, and still no updated drivers. Hope it gets resolved soon, I WANT MY MAC BOOK!

  • Flashvideo stuttering, sound not in sync with video

Can't help it: flashvideos are stuttering and the sound is not in sync with the video as the video/picture always is like a second late to the sound.
Tried Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, even with older flashplayer-versions than 11.5.502.110 as it is now, cleared chache, enabled and disabled hardware acceleration, tested different cache memory size (flashplayer internal settings), with or without camera and microphone allowance, every time I get the same results in a choppy / stuttering video and no sync in picture / sound.
    My System is as followed:
    MacBook Pro early 2008
    MacBookPro4,1
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    2,5 GHz
    L2-Cache:    6 MB
    RAM:    4 GB
    Bus:    800 MHz
    with a GeForce 8600M GT
    PCIe-Bus
    VRAM 512 MB
Internet-connection via cable at least with 5 Mbit/sec up to mostly around 20 Mbit/sec and a 802.11n WLAN (tried LAN cable too, same effect)
My OSX is Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I want to stick with that one, I keep the browsers and the flashplugin always up to date and I am not using a lot of background programs when watching, just one firewall and the usual system processes as I can see in the activity monitor, not much of percentage in processor usage, maybe 2 to 5 in percent all together, talking only of the background usage.
The core / processor usage, when a flashmovie is running, is around 80 to 90 percent,
there is an amount of 45 or so GB harddrive space empty and
somewhat of 1,8 GB of RAM not in use.
The connection-quality as shown in, say the "nfl game pass" window is very good up to max.
Sometimes, when the internet isn't that fast and the connection drops, the picture gets worse and the sound too, but that occurs not very often, maybe once a day and mostly when starting a video. After 10 seconds or so the quality of the picture and sound is high like brilliant HD, cannot complain about that, but the stuttering and out of sync sound remains.
I  watch the flash videos at internal mac-book-pro monitor 1440x900 fullscreen, sometimes not fullscreen,
tried an external LCD Sony Bravia Full HD Monitor  via DVI to HDMI adapter too
and I am getting  always, with any kind of configuration, the same results in stuttering video with sound out of sync.
Did already read faq's and forums and it seems that this is an issue for a long time with very different computer-setups and browsers in various versions of the flash-player. Couldn't find anything in accordance, like same graphic cards or same internetconnections, browsers or else, yet, so it comes down to the flash player.
The issue with the stuttering video and no sync in sound and video occurs at any time of the day with different streams, live, archived - I also tried changing  the mac-system-flashplayer settings in different combinations with no change at all: stuttering video, no sync sound.
If there is any information else that you need, please let me know,
I hope you can help as this stuttering and async is getting quite annoying by now...
greez anyway, out of vienna, austria
    thanx,
    manfred

    Hi Manfred,
When you have the high cpu, is hardware acceleration enabled?  You mentioned this occurs with all releases that you've tested, does this include 10.3 on Firefox?

  • Drop outs, and stuttering Sound Blaster Recon3D PCie Window 8 32bit.

There are other much older threads on this subject but none I could find with the above combination.
    My PC environment:
    N2M4 SLI ASUS motherboard
    AMD X64 5400
    4 gig's DDR2 RAM
Windows 8 Pro 32bit (not a clean install but an upgrade from XP-Pro SP-3)
    SB Recon3D PCie sound card
    Nividia GeForce 9800 graphic card.
The on board audio chipset is disabled, it's drivers deleted.
All drivers and Bios packages are up to date.
I am not a gamer and this SC is only used with music and video playback.
I have a frequent hang, and stutter (H&S) problem which started with the installation of the new Sound Blaster card. I had and ancient Audigy 2 from which I only used it's coaxial digital output this card did not have the H&S but the 3.5mm jack failed so a replacement was needed. The H&S problem started with the new card. It does it with both the analog and optical digital output. It is apparently the SC that is doing this. I have two other outputs I use for music playback, USB and DLNA the H&S problem is not exhibited with these two play back methods.
I have watched the system monitors to see if I can spot what is going on. CPU usage runs 50% or less usually a lot less, and the RAM is also not taxed. What I do see is a split second spike in CPU usage to somewhere around 70% when the stutter hits. This is not reflected in the usage graphic for the RAM. I have adjusted the digital, and analog buffers, I have also changed the file bit depth, etc, to try and mitigate the problem at in both cases it does not fix the problem.
This SB Recon3D PCie is the 6th Sound Blaster card I have purchased over the last decade plus and the first one I have had any trouble with, If there is a solution I would like to hear of it, and hopefully this will be addressed in a driver update very soon, if not, well, there is always the ASUS Zonar Essence.

I have fixed the dropout and stuttering problem. It was not Creative fault but instead it was caused by the malicious site blocker package that was loaded by Malwarebytes in February. I loaded DPC Latency Checker and watched it's real time graph and the latency was through the roof, something was eating my computer alive and it was not my SB Recon3D PCie card that was doing it Turning off Malwarebytes fixed the problem. Before I dumped the MWBS I checked in at it support forum and they where getting flamed over the malicious site blocker and locking up XP machines so I turned it off on my Windows 8 machine and instantly fixed the problem now my new Creative Sound card sounds great like all of the other SB card I have had over the years. Anyone having this problem load DPC Latency Checker, it is freeware, and see if you have a latency issue that is causing your problem.

  • Arena Surround USB Gaming Headset, stuttering sound?

Just yesterday I picked up these new headphones and lets be honest, they aren't cheap.
I loved how comfortable they were and easy to install. But I was less impressed with the sound.
Playing songs in iTunes, the songs sounded muffled, like they needed more treble. Yet oddly, other songs which I knew had high treble, sounded ok. But just ok.
But perhaps my biggest issue is that when any song is playing either in iTunes or another player, the sound stutters.
The best way to describe it is, imagine your playing a song in itunes and at the same time pushing your PC to its limits, extracting a 2GB rar, converting a video, installing a game etc all at the same time. There will be an effect on the system and the sound will stutter as it struggles. But I get this when my computer is just playing music and only with these new headphones. Its because its USB im sure.
So what is the solution? I got these off ebay brand new, so getting a refund will not happen.
I used the driver off the website.

Its really frustrating. I've been watching AVI files and get the same problem every so often. Ive even "rewound" the video to make sure it was a fault with it but no. These headphones are perfect except this. come on Creative, help me out here.
Update: I have uninstalled the creative software and used just the built in drivers for windows 7. There is a noticable improvement. There is some slight issues every so often but its alot better than it was before. Although that isnt saying much, its still seriously IRRITATING.

  • Stuttering sound on all channels?!?

Having a probelm where sound is stuttering/skipping occasionally making me miss what people are saying, just fragments the audio
Anyone have any idea why? Have the black box from around 6 months ago.

Via HDMI, I've checked the cables, removed the power cable and restarted.
I think it's just stuttering in general not just audio although it's for such a brief time I can't tell if the image is pausing.

  • Stuttering sound on HP23-H020A

    Hi guys,
have had the HP23-H020A all in one PC for about 4 months now, sound on music playback now stutters, skips and jumps, sometimes even freezes.
    Running Windows 8.1, 64bit.
It's under warranty, so will take back to store, figured perhaps someone else has had the issue, and knew of a fix before i returned it.
    thanks

    Hello again @mightyreal65,
I suspect that you are getting an update that is causing you the problem. If you could follow the instructions below:
Step 1. At the Tiles Menu type 'control Panel'
Step 2. Click on Control Panel
Step 3. Click on Programs and Features
Step 4. Look for and update by Microsoft called 'KB2962407'
Step 5. If the update is there uninstall it and restart your computer
Step 6. If the update was not there sort by date and look to see what the last updates were
Step 7. Starting with the newest update uninstall it and restart
***REPEAT this process until you sound comes back. Keep note of which update when removed lets you audio come back as that is the problem update.
Step 8. Once you know the update kb number navigate to Windows Update in the Control panel, right-click the troublesome update, and select Hide update.
This should resolve your audio issue and let you get past this problem. I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • HQ-2300D headphones - stuttering sound when used with laptop

    Hi!
I didn't find any headphone forum, but the speaker forum seems close enough...
I've had the HQ-2300D Dolby Headphone headphones for a few months. They work (very!) well with my separate DVD player (a Pioneer model). Now I've bought a Dell XPS M70 laptop, and I've started having problems.
In short: when playing DVDs, the adapter (or converter) switches frequently between Dolby Digital and Stereo mode, creating a very disturbing chopped-up sound. Inbetween it works, but especially quiet scenes are *very* choppy.
Now, I've tried the same scenes with the *exact* same setup - same DVD player software, same settings, but instead connected to my home cinema system (Marantz surround receiver). That sound flawless and does not show the same behaviour.
Again, please note that the headphones work fine when connected to the digital out of my "hardware" DVD player.
So, what can I do? Is there an issue with the decoder? Too sensitive? Is the signal too weak? Please help! This is one of the reasons I wanted these headphones to begin with!
For the record: WinXP, all drivers and BIOS updated, Sigmatel STAC9200 HD Audio, tried both PowerDVD and VLC with the same effect.
    /Mikael

  • Stuttering sound on satellite A60

    Hello,
i recently purchased my laptop, around 3 months ago. up until a few weeks ago everything was fine, but now the sound skips and stutters- this is most apparent in windows media player. has anyone any idea why this is happening??
    Thanks
    Matt

yes, it stutters and skips with everything, music, games, dvds, even with the startup windows sound. i've tried installing new drivers. i've tried deleting drivers and reinstalling them but nothing has worked. i'm thinking its maybe a hardware problem. has anyone else experienced this? the most annoying thing is that the laptops only 3 months old and ive got a 6 year old p700 computer which has no problems with sound. should i bother trying to fix it or should i just take it back to the shop(would be a shame to do this though).
    many thanks
    Matt

  • Stuttering Sound in games with X-Fi Xtreme Ga

I have repeatedly had problems with the sound in Bioshock, Civilisation IV and World of Warcraft whereby the sound will start off OK, but often, particularly heavy scene graphically, the sound either cuts out completely, or starts stuttering. I recently replaced the graphics card, but this problem began before I changed them over. I read in the FAQ that these problems could be overcome by turning off certain features such as CMSS-3D and also turning off the ACPI function in the BIOS. I have tried all the suggestions together and I still have the same problem.

I am not currently experiencing the sound distortions or drop-outs in the game Bioshock.
The solution could be one of the following. I can't be certain which one:
) Unlocking the framerate under 'graphics options' in the game.
    2) Uninstalling the driver 6.0..302, removing the card, rebooting, reinstalling the card, rebooting again, reinstalling the driver.
However, as this is an intermittent fault, I can't be certain it won't recur. If it does, I will post again.
