Sub minute recovery time?

Has anybody heard about a high availability solution for SAP on SQLServer which allows recovery times under 1 minute?
I know SAP does not certify high availability solutions from partners, so I think this has to be a hardware solution from a SAP partner (HP, IBM, etc.).
As I know, every HA solution would need some kind of failover for database engine and SCS. Database failover will took always about tens of minutes.
I will appreciate any guidance.

We have SQL 2008 (Release Candidate 0) Mirroring in place (same as SQL 2005, but SQL 2005 is more stable of course, since it is a released product). Our mirroring mode is synchronous with automatic failover.
At SAP level, we have setup database mirroring via supported methods. Just modify the database reference in your profiles, from a single database name to:
SAPDBHOST = primarydbserver;Failover_Partner=secondarydbserver
In event of db failure, at the DB level it takes less than 5 seconds to failover. SAP work processes will error but will be successful during reconnect. Average failover takes less than 1 minute from my experiences.
If you are looking for sub 1 min recovery, do not, I repeat - do not use MSCS. Fastest I have ever seen any MSCS recover is around 5 minutes. MSCS is affected by IPSEC, network name replication, etc. Because the name is moved from 1 physical server to another.
For SQL mirroring, there are no name changes, SAP simply point to another server.

I am wanting to replace all my PC's with Macs, ipads and iphones for my business.
I love the whole system but as a small Physio business, I need to be able to add 15min & 20min appointments to the callendar and share with my colleagues.
The problem I have is that they just bunch up and overlap and it becomes impossible to follow. There is no way of telling if you have any appointment spaces as it no longer shows the gaps. Also, are you able to set a default time for the appointments as it currently defaults to 1 hour (small pain in the arse but thought i'd ask while i'm here)
If there is a way to do this or if there is any other apps out there, I'm sure it would become a very useful business tool and many more small businesses would invest in Apple systems, I've talked it through with friends with other businesses and they agree.
Anybody have any solutions, or do Apple fancy making some simple upgrades to the software?

Yep, that's basically what I'm trying to to detect JJ; which layers overlap the blue area would be the ideal result. Which objects overlap the blue layer's bounds is an ok method, but not 100% accurate (as demonstrated by your example). The bounds method does narrow down what layers I need to check it against, but it still returns 2 layers I need to then take extra time to check against for the actual overlap, which wouldn't be necessary if we can get the check more detailed.
Since a more detailed way of getting the overlaps is still being looked into, I'm thinking of using EnsilZah's and/or c.pfaffenbichler's suggestions in tandem with some code they helped me with previously (here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6256651#6256651 ) to get the actual overlaps by process of elimination on a narrowed return result using current suggestions; at least until a better/more efficient solution comes along. I am still open to other ideas, on this topic, though.

6 minute boot times

Recently my MBP running Leopard 10.5.2 has been experiencing 6 minute boot times. The first screen with the apple lasts about 1 minute with the spinning circle and then the machine goes to a light blue screen and just sits for about five minutes. After about 5 minutes, the machine boots fine and all operations are fine.
So far, I've reset the PRAM and ran the "fix permissions" and "fix disk" from my leopard install dvd. The machine still takes 6 minutes to boot.
So I went a step further and completely wiped the machine and did a clean install. After running all of the Mac updates the machine began the 6 minute boot. Is this normal? Are the rest of you finding the same results? Below is my console output from a boot, notice the time differential between 11:08:13pm and 11:12:16pm. Something is not right there. I hate going to the Genius bar, everyone I've ever dealt with there has been anything but genius.
Any and all help would be appreciated. My machine is still under warranty so if anyone thinks it maybe hardware related, please chime in.

It looks like a hardware problem. Perhaps FireWire related.
Do you have any FW devices on the computer? If so, see what happens when you unplug them.
I would also unplug everything that you do not need and see what happens.
That one message about waiting for IOKit to be quiet is suspect.
If you have a separate IO card for FW, that might be the problem.
Also, you can enter the following Terminal command
dmesg
and get a better reading of the entire boot process
You seem to have done everything else most of us would consider important, and if you must reinstalled Leopard I would suspect some kind of hardware problem, something "flaky" or marginal.

I believe that is for ADC Monitor power if you had one, or a card with ADC, like the little tab on this one...
I think your startup problem is bad capacitors in the power supply or on the logic board, and the need to bleed off their charge before they work right to start.

You are welcome. I'm glad you got it back up.
(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

the approximate time to backup is 8- 10 hours.

"Recovery time" is : RESTORE DATABASE time + RECOVER DATABASE time.
RESTORE can be done
a. in parallel with multiple channels if your backup was created as multiple backupsets
b. using incremental backups
c. whether the backups are on
i. disk
ii. tape
Alternatively, if you have a Recovery Area with an Incrementally Update backup of the database, you can SWITCH DATABASE almost immediately
RECOVER depends on
a. how many archivelogs (in terms of size, not necessarily number) need to be applied
-- this depends on
i. transaction volume
ii. the "freshness" of the backups (how recent the backups are)
b. whether required archivelogs are available on disk (which can be the case if the database backup itself is a very recent backup and archivelogs since then haven't been deleted {whether they have been backed up or not}) OR whether they need to be restored from
i. disk backup
ii. tape backup

RAM : 8 GB
I want to setup a backup policy by configuring catalog server and want to take weekly full database backup and daily incremental level 1 backup.(control file auto backup). The database is in archive log mode
Please let me know the possible recovery time of control file, log file and data file in case of database failure from backup

HomeFusion is disconnecting 5+ times per day, out 5-10 minutes each time.
When it is up, it is fabulous. Signal quality is always great.
Main router page says just Connecting... when this happens.

A simple reboot of the router and cantenna is not going to permanently fix this issue. Its been going on at least since August 2012. The issue is a bad software on the cantenna and its affecting areas such as KY, GA, TN, and OH. I have emailed the manufacturer of the cantenna, I think its PCI and they emailed me telling me that its a known issue but no idea when it will be fixed. It could be a few week or a few months or possibly at least a year.
I think what Verizon should do is refund the money including installation and any fees paid for the service to all affected customers and take down the service until fixed or find a new manufacturer for the Cantenna or work with the engineers with PCI to come up with firmware fix asap. This issue is obviously affecting enough customers where telling your customers to wait is not going to work anymore. I don't mind waiting if I know that a fix is definitely coming and an actual date. Its very frustrating to have a company not support their customers in coming up with a fix on this asap such as a solution within the next 2 weeks. I was in the middle of taking another exam and got an F on it because your service disconnected me.
I think I might join the bandwagon and if this issue is not fixed by the end of January 2013 I'll be calling for a full refund. I am not confident that a permanently fix will be generated by Jan 2013 which is sad. Is anyone else with me - I mean what is it going to take for Verizon to come up with a solution on this permanently. The sad part of all of this is Verion tells me its an issue with a firmware on the cantenna and the manufacturer of the cantenna tells me to be patient and wait for a fix and when I pressed the issue some more, the manufacturer of the cantenna tells me Verizon has to approve the fix but Verizon says they are waiting for a fix from the manufacturer. So, I am not sure what it is.

Recovery time of transient response is defined as the time from the beginning of the transient to the voltage point on the waveform fallen into 10percent of the overshoot. Well, the waveform is something like a pulse with a soft slope.

I recommend plotting your data on a graph on paper. Take a look at the data, and determine what is unique about the point you are looking for. Look for how you can teach your program to look for this point.
I have written several algorithms that do similar, one in fact being for a power supply, the other being for RPM. Neither algorithm used any advanced analysis tools. They are just a matter of determining, mathematically, when you achieve what you are looking for. Just sit down with your graph (I recommend multiple copies) and draw horizontal and vertical lines that determine when you get to the point you are looking for. You are probably going to have to reverse the array and start from the end, so think in those terms.

l me a bitmap of the graph, and what you are looking for and I will try to be of further assistance. Don't do that however; until you you have given this a few tries. Your solution should be involve a lot of logic on analog levels.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
