Submit a report to a new online window

Hello,
Is it possible to submit an online report which instead of using the current window would open a new one, sort of a “/o”?
Thank you,
helena teixeira

Hi,
SUBMIT <report> AND RETURN. This statement calls the report in a new internal session. Try this and reward points if helpful.
Thanks and Regards,

  • Problems with Reports in a new IE window.

    I have a JSP aplicattion running in a web browser (IE or
    Netscape) in fullscreen without any kind of bar. So I open the
    report in a new window with bars so the user could close it and
    come back to my aplicattion. The problem is that it works
    correctly in Netscape but not in IE. IE only shows some data in
    the reports. IE only shows the margin section but not the main
    section.
    Could anybody help me?

    Adding to David Sir's answer.....
    Rather than creating a new IE object $ie2 and opening the URL associated with the button.
    You can use Tab in your $ie1 object....there is a navigate2() method which opens up a tab.
    $ie1.navigate2("$URL2",65536)
    #Note the value 65536 will open the Tab and make it foreground tab
    Hope this helps

  • Submit form with response in new browser window

    Is it possible to set up a submit button so that it pops up the response in a separate browser window?  With an HTML form, I can do it using target="_blank", but not aware of any such option on a LiveCycle submit button.
    If it can't be done, maybe there's another way to do what I need.  Users complete the data-entry PDF form and submit the data to a servlet, which returns another (different) PDF.  My user may look at this PDF, see a problem, and want to return to the data-entry form to change what he's entered before regenerating the output.  However, by this point my original data-entry PDF is gone.  I am not using LiveCycle on the server.  Any ideas?

    Many thanks for your help on this Paul.  I decided to go with the hostContainer approach despite my reservations.  Here's a simplified version of my servlet.  This version simply parrots back the XML in a separate browser window.  I hope this helps someone.

  • Displaying BIP report (ByteArray) in new browser window after runReport

    We have BIP 11g standalone.
    Our UI is built in Flex / Flash Builder 4 and we are using runReport to execute our BIP reports.
    For now, we am working with reports that are HTML output (Excel output comes later).
    The ReportResponse object is returned successfully with a populated reportBytes (as ByteArray).
    I am unsure how to display the reportBytes HTML report in a browser window (although I've found a number of blogs detailing in Java how to display a report, or save it to PDF etc and using OutputStream).
    Can someone please advise how (in Flex/FlashBuilder) to take the ByteArray which is the resulting BIP HTML report and display it in a browser window?
    I've been trying with URLRequest and about:blank vs image.load(bytes) etc but nothing is working.
    Thanks

    Hi Micky.
    If you have the spool number of the printed billing document you can use
    component WDK_SPOOL_TO_PDF in order to display spool as PDF.
    Just transfer spool number and format to default inbound start up plug.

  • Open discoverer report in new browser window and without connections page

    Hi All,
    We are using Oracle 11g Discoverer 11.1.1.4.  Requirement is to open the discoverer report in a new browser window and without connections page.
    When we are running discoverer reports with this parameters we unwantedly get the connections page of the discoverer plus which we don't want.
    Went through the documentation given in this page and followed it still the issue persists, and i see couple of threads with my issue and no updates.
    This excerpt is from the documentation available in the link
    " _plus_popup=true and framedisplaystyle=embedded launches Discoverer Plus in a new pop-up browser window that contains the Plus applet embedded in it "
    http://www.art2dec.com/documentation/docs/oas10g1012/linux/bi.1012/b13918/urlstart.htm
    and Here is what we use to invoke our reports.
    http://ipaddress:port/discoverer/plus?cn=cf_123&_plus_popup=TRUE&framedisplaystyle=EMBEDDED&wb=disc_wb_1
    Request the forum users from PRO discoverer group to help me out of this issue and expect a good discussion on this.
    Thanks in advance

    We were able to achieve by changing the browser settings in the IE 8 Browser. Disabled Tabbed browsing.

  • Bug Report: New conversation window stills the sys...

    Bug Report: Skype Desktop: New conversation window stills the system/keyboard focus.
    When the UI is in multi-window mode and a conversation window pops up (due for example to a newly received chat message), that window steals the system/keyboard focus, even though it appears in a minimized state in the Windows taskbar. And this should not happen by default, because it is impractical (especially for screen reader users). And it didn't happen in Skype 6.21 and earlier. But since the new UI was introduced officially in Skype 7.0, it started happening constantly.
    Steps to reproduce it:
    1. From "View" menu, activate the "Split Window View", if it is not already enabled.
    2. From Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM settings, enable "Open a new window when I receive a new message in Split Window View", if it is not already enabled.
    3. From Tools -> Options -> Advanced, activate "Enable accessible mode", if it is not already enabled.
    4. Activate the "Save" button, to save the changes.
    5. Close all windows, related to Skype. You may keep only the main window opened.
    6. Move the system focus to another application.
    7. Tell someone to send you a chat message. When the message arrives and the conversation window pops up minimized in the Windows Taskbar, everything seams to be as it should. A few seconds after that however, the system/keyboard focus gets moved to that new conversation window, even though it is neither restored/maximized (it is minimized), nor it is visible on the screen (except as a button in the taskbar).
    Actual results:
    When a new conversation window pops up in the Windows taskbar, it stills the system/keyboard focus to itself from the currently focused application.
    Expected results:
    Skype's popping up new conversation windows should not still the system/keyboard focus to themselfs from the currently focused application.
    Test environment:
    - Operating system: Windows 8.1 Pro N, 64-bit, in Bulgarian with all locale settings set to "Bulgarian".
    - Skype version: 7.0.0.102 for Desktop.

    This is a known problem, but Skype have not given us an estimated time for a fix.
    Traditionally, Skype updates have been roughly monthly, so we are due a new version sometime soon. Many of us here are hoping that is has a bunch of fixes for the UI, the focus problem being one of them.

  • Calling web report in new browser window

    I have one Web-based Oracle report where I am calling another report in a FormatTrigger as:
    http://myserver/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?key1+:param1
    I want to run this second report in a new browser window. I tried using TARGET="_blank"
    but I get syntax errors. I know that without the cgi parameters, it is easy to include the TARGET after the URL. But can anyone tell me the correct syntax for the above case (with parameters)? I tried putting the TARGET before '?' and after the param but both failed.
    Thanks
    null

    try this in your format trigger:
    web.show_document('http://myserver/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe?param1=value+param2=value', '_blank');

  • Link to a New Browser window

    Anybody knows of an easy way to open a report through the link on another report into a new browser window by default? Thanks.

    hi you can do this in a couple of ways
    create a format trigger on the column that you want to use as the link :-
    function F_organizationFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    srw.set_hyperlink('http://' || :BASEURL || '/anotherjsp.jsp?REPORT_ID=1&destype=cache&desformat=' || :desformat || '&WHERECLS=' || :DRILLCLS || '&DRILLVALUE=' || chr(39) || :column1 || ' ' || chr(39) );
    srw.set_hyperlink_attrs('target=_blank');
    return (TRUE);
    end;
    or you can put it in the Web Settings piece of the Property Inspector for the column that you want to link from . there is a paramter for hyperlink and hyperlink destination.
    hope this helps

  • Open PDF in New External Window

    Hi
    how to open a PDF Report(File) in new IE Window from WebdynproJava
    Regards
    Dhinakar

    Hi,
             If the PDF document is in the server then we can show that in the external window onClick of the button.
    Write this code in the onAction button event.
    try

    String stResourcePath = new String("<server path>\Guide.pdf");
    IWDCachedWebResource resource = WDWebResource.getWebResource(content, WDWebResourceType.PDF);

  • Checkbox and report page in new window

    Hi team,
    I have the following problem.
    On a page I display a report where each row has a checkbox.
    The user can check a row and press a button (button in region)to produce a more detailed report. I want to display this report in a new window. I know that I can use the javascript PopUpURL or PopUp2. The issue I have is that I have to process the checkbox with function htmldb_application.g_f01(i). I can't use that directly. So what I have done is create a hidden field and assign the return value of the formentioned function to it in a Page processing computation. The problem I hit is that page processing is/has not taken place. Therefor the call to the new page is missing a paramater because the hidden field is empty.

    Hi Raymond,
    1. Create a URL redirect branch back to the same page when the VIEW button is pressed
    "f?p=&APP_ID.:&APP_PAGE_ID.:&SESSION.:&REQUEST.:&DEBUG.:"
    2. Create an Hidden Item P1_HIDDEN_ITEM
    3. Create an after submit computation to null the hidden value item
    4. Create an after submit computation to find out which check box is checked.
    Dynamically generate the popup URL you would like to view into the Hidden Item.
    P1_HIDDEN_ITEM
    3. Create a JavaScript function called showpopup in the page HTML Header region
    &lt;script&gt;
    function showpopup () {
    if ("&REQUEST." == "VIEW")
    if ("&P1_HIDDEN_ITEM." != null)
    popupURL('&P1_HIDDEN_ITEM.');
    &lt;/script&gt;
    4. Call the showpopup function in on load JavaScript region. onLoad="showpopup();"
    Try this and see if it works for you.
    Also I would have changed the Checkbox to a Radio button group because this will limit the user to select only one row.

  • Report on a new window

    Hi All,
    I have a calendar and a report on the same page:101. But I want to open a report on a new window whenever a user clicks on the event. I can not move the report on the different page because it is before login and public.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks.

    If you're wanting to just dump some data to a new window/popup, in the "Column Link" section:
    + Select "URL" for the Target field.
    + Enter the following in the URL field:
    javascript:var newwin=document.open('','_errmsg','width=500,height=500'); newwin.document.write('#ERROR_MSG#')
    ...where ERROR_MSG (for this scenario) is one of the columns/attributes on the page.

  • Command to open a PDF generated Oracle Report in New browser window

    I know this is probably something for the Oracle Forums but I'll ask anyway because I can't find any info out there on this, without some extra work.
    I am generating a PDF file from 10g Oracle reports on Linux RHEL 5 and storing the PDF file to the server. I can send that PDF file directly to a printer with the "lpr" command and that part works fine.
    What I'm wanting to do now is "View" the PDF from within the server in a new window. We are using RHEL 5 (Linux) platform and I'm trying to see if there is a way to open the file with a "command line" command that will open it in a new browser window or new window period (opening it with Adobe Acrobat).
    Does anyone have a command that will do this? Otherwise, how has everyone else been handling this. The idea of just viewing the previously generated PDF Report file will save us overhead on our database servers because they won't have to re-run some of the same reports over and over.
    Any help and assistance is appreciated.
    Chris

    Several options:
    - If you only want to show the pdf to the client without printing, use destype=cache and use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT after the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT (for examples search the forms-forum, there are lots)
    -If you have to generate the pdf to a file to get it printed, you could
    +use WEBUTIL_FILETRANSFER.AS_TO_CLIENT after the printing to transfer the file to the client, then use CLIENT_HOST to view it.
    +map the appserver-directory you generate the report to as a virtual directory in the application-server then use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT to directly access the generated file via url.

  • Open an on demand sub report in a new window

    Hi There!
    While reading the forum threads, there is an thread that have the same issue that i want to find out, but the thread is not yet answered. Could you guys help me. Thanks!
    Thread by: Kylie Edwards
    Hi I am wondering if it is possible to open an on demand sub report in a new window.
    I have a report that has 6 level drill and I want to be able to close the information in the sub report to give the end user the ability to keep drilling.
    I have tried inserting a text box with a hyper link back to the main report but hyper links do not seem to work the subreport. "
    Thanks and Regards,
    Joni

    Hi all,
    Sorry for the late reply, and thank you guys for the helped. I manage to solve the problem myself
    To Falk:
    Ya you are right, for what i know,  Inforview is not possible to open a subreport from a RPT file in a new windows as well.
    To Wallie Cheng :
    When i posted the question for help, i just want to know if i could display a crystal report on a new window.
    My situation is that i have a page that is size 3in x 3in ( Just a small static graph ) and i wanna attached a A4 report. In order to have a nicer view at inforview ( 3in x 3in border box ), i will need to reduced the size of the crystal report. The size of the main report is now properly change, but it affects the view for the sub report ( As subreport is A4 size, the system display the A4 size document in a serveral 3in x 3in page. -_-"' ).
    To Abhishek:
    I wanna try out your solution, but i can't find the hyperlink tab in perference option ( in inforview ).
    I manage to solved my problem (suitation that i have explain to Wallie Cheng ). That is to created a hyperlink to the report. Rather than a subreport link.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Joni

  • How to automatically startup a report in a new window after committing a form

    I have a form on a portal-page. The user enters values in the form and presses the INSERT button.
    After doing so, I want to show a report in a NEW window querying some values the user entered in the form.
    I was hoping to be able to use the After Processing Form PLSQL-section as follows:
    declare
    l_id integer;
    l_url varchar2(2000);
    begin
    l_id := p_session.get_value_as_NUMBER(
    p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_ID');
    l_url := 'APP_OWNER.MY_REPORT.show?'
    &#0124; &#0124; 'p_arg_names=id&p_arg_values='
    &#0124; &#0124; to_char(l_id);
    htp.p('<a href="' &#0124; &#0124; l_url &#0124; &#0124;' target="_blank"></a>');
    end;
    But I see only "Inserted one record" and no report is started.
    I've tried to use the after-form-processing part, but it seems I can only startup reports in the same window with GO and CALL.
    Also the ID-variable can not be read from that part.
    A second solution I tried was to put this PLSQL in the PLSQL-handler-section of the button, but for some reason all double quotes " are automatically changed into single quotes ' causing several Java-script errors. Perhaps a bug?
    Does anyone have a solution for this functionality?
    Thanks,
    Jan Willem Vermeer

    Hi,
    There are 2 scenarios I can think of:
    1. The value of ORD_ID is not known until the insert processing completed.
    2. The value of ORD_ID is known and can be retrieved without a roundtrip to the server.
    The 2nd scenario is being simpliest and could be done from Javascript w/out any server involvement, all you need is the getField() function (or any other function to get the field value) described here : http://technet.oracle.com:89/ubb/Forum81/HTML/000073.html
    Javascript piece goes something like this:
    myWindow = window.open("http://myhost/portal30/pos.APPROVAL_INVOICE_DYN.show?p_arg_names=ord_id&p_arg_values=" + getField(this.form,"ORD_ID"),
    "myWindowName","toolbar=yes,location=yes,directories=no,status=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,height=400,width=600");
    The first scenario is more complicated.
    During the "accept cycle", when your PLSQL insert/update etc. event handlers are
    fired all the processing output will happen into the current window.
    Neither owa_util.redirect_url() nor wwa_app_module.set_target() will help.
    Both of them will do a redirect only in the current browser window,
    actually, wwa_app_module.set_target() internally calls owa_util.redirect_url().
    What you need is:
    1. Get the field value, and either: 1. store it somewhere in a package variable,
    or: 2. do this all at once in "before displaying the page"
    2. After the form processing is completed (but not in the onSuccess!!! code),
    open a new browser window w/Javascript specifying the same url you were passing to
    set_target().
    Here is my example, place following code into "before displaying the page" additional PLSQL block:
    declare
    l_id integer;
    begin
    l_id := p_session.get_value_as_NUMBER(
    p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_ORD_ID');
    if l_id is not null then
    htp.p('{SCRIPT} var myWindow = window.open("http://myhost/portal30/pos.APPROVAL_INVOICE_DYN.show?p_arg_names=ord_id&p_arg_values=' &#0124; &#0124; l_id &#0124; &#0124; '",
    "mySubWindow","toolbar=yes,location=yes,directories=no,status=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,height=400,width=600");
    myWindow.focus();
    {SCRIPT}');
    end if;
    end;
    To do: you will need to add more logic to decide when to open a new window,
    whatever is appropriate for your application,
    rather than just 'is null' check I did.
    Hope this will help.
    Thanks,
    Dmitry

  • How can I open a customized report in a new window?

    I am trying to create printable views for my reports that are published as portlets. In specific, I would like a link to open the report up in a new window where the user can print at. I have figured out how to do this with the default report created. However, after a user has customized the report, is there a way to open the customized report in a new window?

    Hi
    I do not think it matters whether your reports portlet is a default one or a customize one. I think whne you place the portlet, you can specify in the property to open up the result in new window. I think it is common feature of Portal.
    Thanks
