Submit by email button ignoring specified email address and subject

I have recently upgraded to CS5.5 and I am having trouble with the Submit by Email button in my form. 
When I distribute the form the email address and subject specified on the button are ignored.  Instead, the form is submitted to my email address with the subject of 'Submitting Completed Form'. 
I have tried creating the form a number of different ways (i.e. converting PDF created in inDesign, just in Acrobat from scratch, just in Livecycle Designer from scratch) with no success and the same result.  I have found I can change the email address if I go to Acrobat X Pro: Edit > Preferences > Identity but this is not an adequate work-around and does not fix the issue of the subject.
My company develops forms for both internal and external clients that require this functionality.  The email subject is used to help identify which form it is and routes it to the appropriate department. 
I have searched the web and this forum for answers but have not found an answer. 
My question is:  How do I get the 'Submit by Email' button to work correctly?
I have created many forms before using CS3 and have never encountered this problem.  At the moment the only way I can see to fix the problem is to go back to CS3 which seems ridiculous.  I thought later versions of software were supposed to work better not look the same and not work (sorry for the rant, frustration is getting the better of me).
I need to use the Distribute Form as it states in the LiveCycle help:
If you do not use the Distribute feature, form recipients who use Adobe Reader cannot save modifications to most PDF files, including forms filled with data.  They must either immediately return their data electronically or print the form and return the paper copy.
I am using Acrobat 10 Pro and Livecycle Designer on Windows 7 64-Bit

What you are seeing is the intended behavior and I'm not sure why is has changed.
When you distribute a form, it substitutes the email address you originally set up with the button with the one specified in your identity preference and the subject is set to "Submitting Completed Form". It makes a number of other changes to the document that make the distribution workflow possible. I do know that different code is used if the form is being used in a version of Acrobat/Reader prior to 9.
With an acroform (not XFA), you can save a copy of the distributed form, allowing you to edit the scripts that among other things set the subject line of the email, so that a different subject line text is used. You can then re-enable the form and it should work OK. The problem is knowing exactly what needs to be changed and finding it, and I'm not certain that this is possible with an XFA form. I normally work with acroforms and know where to do it in Acrobat, but things are different in LiveCycle Designer.

    The submitForm function takes the following four parameters.
    The email address and subject
    A Boolean true to imply that all fields are posted
    The attachment file format (XML, XDP, or PDF)
    The character encoding

    Reset the device:
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Setup Email Button for Multiple Emails

    Is there a way to setup an email button or link within a form that with each click it sends to a different email address or when you click it allows you to pick an email address from a pre-approved list to send it to?

    Open the "Properties" for the drop down field. On the "Options" tab enter the name in the "Item" option and the email address in the 'Export Value'. Now the value of the field will be the 'export value' for the selected item.
    i assume you know how to write the code for creating an email.

  • Does the Email button fail with some OS and Reader?

    I use an Adobe form on a monthly basis and have a submit by email button.  I get the majority of my forms submitted and collected fine but there is a small number, more frequent this month that I don't get the submission.  Mac users in particular - the form never reaches me.  I tested this on a Mac this morning and see that it says it will send the data, but it doesn't send any email.  If you use other options, it sends the blank form. 
    I read there might be an issue with Reader 10 and Windows, is this still the case that the forms are not submitting with this OS and Reader version.

    Thanks George.  I'm in a University setting and everyone should be using Outlook (I think we're totally converted now across campus)  I know that the Mac isn't delivering it to my inbox through the submit button, and if I use the email option I get the message that it will send it as an attachement but the form will be blank, which it is.  My Google search indicated a problem with Reader 10 and Windows 7,  so I wondered if that was my most recent problem.  I had two show up for a training class today and I didn't have either registration so I didn't show.  I've had over 500 registrations in the last 2 months and probably less than 10 had an issue with the form.  Most of those 10 were Mac users so this recent issue with Win 7/ Reader 9 users had me wondering if there was something new going on with Reader.  I am pretty sure that the majority of my recipients use Acrobat X Pro and did not experience the problem, but the two today indicated they had Reader only (9  & 10) so I wonder if what I Googled is true.  Hoped there was an easy fix, but think my resolution is to make my note (Larger and Bold)  that if they don't get a confirmation from me, they need to email me directly as it's possible I didn't get the submission.  Thanks for your help.

    Neither the Email Link menu option under File nor the Email Button installed from the customise menu option when placed on the tool bar work.
    Thunderbird 24.5.0 is the email client both installed on Linux Mint 13 with latest updates.
    Nothing happens at all when on a web page and the email link is clicked or the envelope icon is clicked.
    Help appreciated.

    The Preferred applications menu list showed Thunderbird as the email program but it did not link the email button to firefox.
    I had to eventually go to the Firefox preferences and in Applications, Thunderbird was not listed. So I selected Other and browsed to the filesystem / Usr/Bin and selected the Thunderbird icon which then put Thunderbird in the Firefox Applications options for email.
    The email link / button then worked.
    Now I have to sort out the link for emailing photos from Picasa as this does not work either

  • Event email alarms have no "To:" address, and cannot send

    Hi,
    A strange thing has happened since upgrading to Tiger: all email alarms get sent with no "To:" address, even though I have selected a valid email address in the event alarm drop-down. Mail pops up with the alarm email indicating that it cannot be sent, showing a blank "To:" line.
    The email addresses I have tried are all in "My" card in Address book. I've tried re-selecting the email address and have also removed iCal plist and restarted, but all to no avail.
    Searching here hasn't provided me with any direct hits on the problem I'm experiencing. Does anyone have any other pointers on things I can try to get this working again?

    I am having the same issue. When I click "Reply" to an invitation Mail generates an e-mail without an address in the "To" field resulting in an error. We are using an exchange server but I have tested this with invitation generated with iCal as well. Also, a co-worker of mine, using the same set up as me (PowerMac G5 Dual 2.0 GHz, 10.4.6), has no difficulty.
    So far, I have deleted both my work (exchange) and home (.Mac) e-mail accounts from mail. I have created a new work account (imap) and re-sync'd with the exchange server. I have deleted both Mail and iCal .plist files from User> Library>Preferences. I have deleted all outgoing mail servers except my company mail server from the server list in Mail>Preferences>Accounts.
    I can receive, address and send e-mails fine with mail. When I click on a name in the "Attendees" list in the information pane in iCal I can see a grey'd out list of e-mail address for each attendee. When I select "Send Email" it addressess the e-mail correctly.
    In short, I am utterly confused as to why this does not work properly. Out It guy just quit and I am left figuring this out on my own. So, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Is there a way to improve the sign in experience so that users don't have to specify both address and username?

    I've wondered this for a long time-is there a way to set up Lync so that I can have users sign in with just the sign in address, and not have to specify the username as well? Things tend to go like this:
    User launches lync client-types sign in address and password (in this case [email protected])
    Sign in will fail, and now they'll need to specify the username (in this case CTT1\user) and retype their password
    Now sign in succeeds (and it'll remember credentials)
    Is there a way to fix things in DNS so that step 2 isn't required?  It's a pain for the out of the box experience for new users, and the fact that the login has to fail to be able to specify the username in the first place is a little counterintuitive.
    Is there a record we can create so that the domain name (in this case CTT1) is inferred from the SIP domain? 

    Well if you want a "single signon" experience, the Workstation will need to de join to the domain :-)  otherwise it will prompt for the Username and password for authentificaiton.
    You can then check the save password box.
    For remote user that are NOT on the domain, same behavior, you will be prompted to enter Username/Password.

    if you investigate a little bit the PO output, you can find following information in SRM output customizing:
    POs are edited by methode PROCESS_BBP_PO_MAI from class CL_PD_PO_PROCESSING_BBP.
    Subject, body and attachments are handled here.
    So create your own class and method, and assign them in this customizing point (SRM Server --> Cross-Application Basic Settings --> Set Output Actions and Output Format --> Define Actions for Purchase Order Output).

  • I'm suddenly unable to get my email. Trupled checked my address and password entry  to confirm correct. What to do????Am I forced to reset my password or worse yet change my email address?????

    Suddenly I can't get my email. My email address or password ( can't tell which) is inexplicably no longer accepted --I triple checked it for correctness.  What can I do? Can i avoid having to chg my password  and/or email address???? BTW, this is happening on all devices --iphone 5 , imac, macbook pro.

    Who is your email provider? Do you have two-step verification set up with this account? If so, you will have to read up on how to set it up on a mobile device with this feature implemented, or turn this feature off.

  • When using mail, I can fill in the address and subject line but cannot get to the body of the email to type.

    When using my regular mail, I can hit reply or start a new email and can fill in the address line and the subject line.  I cannot get to the body of the email to type my message.  The curser will not go there and the keyboard does not pop up.  How can I correct this so I can send emails when travelling?

    Oh, ok. That changes my answer completely. The problem here is that Shawmail's webmail interface isn't made to work correctly with the iPad. Gmail works because Google made sure it works. You need to contact Shaw and ask them to correct this. In the meantime, set up your Shawmail account in the native Mail app on the iPad. Do this by going to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and take it from there.

    (It works only by thos users which have Adobe Prof. on their pc.)
    Manche haben aber nur den Adobe Reader oder den Adobe Prof und den Adobe Reader. Hier funtioniert das Formular nicht. Sie können das Formular ausfüllen, zurücksetzen aber nicht versenden.
    (Some users have only Adobe Reader and some users have Adobe Prof. and Adobe Reader. Here the formular doesn't work. They can only fill and reset the formular but they can't send this formular.)
    Wenn ich bei diesen Benutzern das Formular mit dem Adobe Prof. erzwinge, funktioniert es auch hier, aber nicht mit dem Adobe Reader. Leider öffnet es sich standardmäßig mit dem Reader.

    Hi,
    If you are trying to send you form as pdf, your form has to be Reader extend with save permission. Acrobat reader has this ability while Reader - not,  that is why your form works fine under Acrobat and not working under Reader.
    To reader extend form you can use Reader Extensions ES .

  • Movie Clips as buttons – ignoring my stop actions and event listeners

    Ok, so I think I am hear with the proper linked files to show you guys! Pretty much learning everything, so forgive my ignorance thus far!
    Anyway, I am just trying to figure out movie clips as buttons, and have been following along on Lynda.com – however, I seem to be doing these things right, but when i test my movie, the button just loops regardless of rollovers or stop actions.

    Do you get any kind of error messages?  Normally if there's a coding error, movieclips and other things go haywire.
    For you event handler functions, try specifying the event that matches the listener event...

  • I can put in an address and subject, but there is no cursor in the message box.

    After I put in the address & subject, I click on the message box to do some typing, but all it does is sit there. Up in the tool bar, the little circle is just spinning counterclockwise until I click in the message box, then it reverses to clockwise and just sit there stuck in a loop. I've waited for several minutes, rebooted the Firefox and rebooted the computer, even letting it sit several minutes for turning it on again. Still I get the same result. I contacted Earthlink about that, because I use their webmail, and they suggested I try through Explorer, and that worked OK. I went back and tried again with Firefox, to no avail.

    Restart the computer.
