SUBMIT BY EMAIL - script to specify default email client?

hello, Is there any way to open the desktop email application directly with a submit button? i.e. to eliminate the pop-up windows (select email client, send data file) - We are trying to reduce the number of steps for the user in order to submit his data)
Thank you very much in advance

No, I don't think this is possible. You could submit the document via HTTP to a servlet (or some server side component) and then email the XDP from there there, or do whatever you want with it. That would be transparent to the user, and I believe this is what Aandi is refering to.
If you email the document, it will ask the user how they want to email it, ie: desktop mail client, web mail, etc.

  • Why does Thunderbird only send 6 emails of hundreds when QuickBooks is sending emails using TB as default email app in Windows 7?

Current Setup: Windows 7, Quickbooks Non-profit Edition, Thunderbird. Thunderbird is set as the default email program.
Recent history: Previously to Thunderbird (TB), the non-profit was using Outlook and using server A for email. Then over a month ago moved all users to TB IMAP accounts from broken Microsoft IMAP accounts. Then moved all IMAP accounts to server B using imapsync perl script which is awesome if you don't know about it. All fine after move for regular email, but not for outgoing email coming from QB to TB.
In Quickbooks (QB), you can have it send invoices and statements to "customers" via email. When the setup was with Outlook and server A, it all worked fine. Now with TB and server B, when you try to send hundreds of invoices in email from QuickBooks to TB, TB only will send out 6 of the emails. It is a curious number 6, but that is what happens.
What have done: Searched interwebs for clues, none found. Talked to tech support at hosting for server B to see if there is any limit on sending emails through server; account has 500/hour limit -- not the issues. Now asking help from anyone who has an idea or inkling to pursue.
Thanks for any and all comments!

Try disabling email scanning and on access scanning of the temp folder. And make sure most of all McAfee is not in the mix at all.
    Place Thunderbird in Offline mode
click the two monitors in the bottom left corner on the status bar. or File menu (ALT+F) > offline > work offline
Going back on line is the reversal of that process.
At a wild guess I am assuming events are simply falling over one another. Unlike outlook Thunderbird is trying to actually send the mails as it gets them. Taking it offline will defer that action until you are online. So each mail will be written to the outbox folder only until Thunderbird is online.
The three options I mention are all designed to remove road blocks to the process.

  • Why is one of my other email addresses trumping my default email address when I reply to emails?

    Good morning.
I have several (4 different) email addresses imported into my imac mail program. I have gone through the settings and configured the program to best of my ability. I have set one email address as my default account. For some reason when I compose a new email message...the mail program will use one of my other email addresses (non-default email address) instead.  Do I have something set up incorrectly?
    Thanks
    Alex H.

open up your mail preferences and in the composing section there is place to choose the default email address for composing new messages.
if you have several email accts though whatever acct you're in replying to the message will always default as the reply from address since that is the address it was originally sent to.

  • Reader email not going to default email client

If I open up an article in 'Reader' in safari, then go to 'Mail this page' it opens up in the OSX Mail program. I use 'Sparrow' and have set this up as the default email client (I know this as I can go to the file menu and 'Mail link to this page' and it will use 'Sparrow' client. Is this a bug in Safari?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
    Quit Safari (Command + Q)
Open the Mac Mail app then from the menu bar click Mail / Preferences then select the General tab.
Make sure: *Default email* reader is set to Sparrow
    Relaunch Safari.

  • Want to use email alias (forwarded) as the reply email instead of the default email Using Outlook 2007 with Google apps

I have one main email address using Google apps and 3 alias email addresses within the same domain (I believe Google calls these accounts group accounts).  I would like my replies to appear to come from the alias whenever an email is received through
it.  Is there a setting to do this automatically. Currently I use 3 separate accounts on Outlook where everything is filled as if the alias account is a real account except for the username and password - where I fill it out with my real email login info.
I then had to disable these 3 accounts from the RECEIVE group (under send/receive) and make sure I use the "account" drop down when I'm replying and pick the correct the email alias.  The problem is that I usually forget to pick one or pick
the wrong one.  If there a setting that would do this automatically it would be a life saver and probably a job saver too :-).  I would even take an Outlook Addin...if there is such a thing.

    Diane:
This worked perfectly for me, I tend to read most of my mail on the default reading pane (as opposed to opening the email completely -which doesn't work).  I Actually created three different Macros for REPLY, REPLY ALL, and FORWARD and replaced the
buttons on the ribbon so I wouldn't click them by mistake.  The only change (besides the obvious changes) I added a line "strRecip = LCase(strRecip)" because I noticed the Macro would not work correctly if the person used uppercase when typing the email
address...for example if they typed it as [email protected] it would work fine but if they typed it as [email protected] or [email protected]  or even the domain itself it would NOT work.  With this addition everything works! I'll post this on the
bottom of the macro link too...I would have typed it there directly but you probably don't visit that page very often and I wanted to make sure you got my response.

  • How do I make a button onj the form which will submit and send the pdf as an email?

how do I make a button on the form which will submit and send the pdf as an email?

You can set up a button with a "Submit a form" action and use a mailto type URL to specify the email address you want the forms sent do. If you want to send the entire PDF, select that option and not FDF or anything else. The mailto URL should not include any spaces and the "mailto" part should be lowercase, like:
    mailto:[email protected]
This will attempt to initiate an email using the users default email client. If the user does not have one set up or there is some other problem, the email might not get initiated. If it needs to work with Reader versions prior to 11, then the form needs to be Reader-enabled, which you do in Acrobat 11 by selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools

  • Z1 default email app doesn't sync

I have a new z1 since last week, and I have problems to sync with my corporate email account with Z1 default email program. Some times sync, some times doesnt sync.
Its a POP3 account, I set the sync frecuency to 5 minutes but sometimes nothing happens and i have to manually sync but also nothing happens!!
I tried deleting  the account, restoring my phone, clearing data for the email application under settings > apps > all > email > clear data.  but still dont work.
I have another phone (samsung) with the same configuration and it works very well, so it´s not the corporate server neither a permision or server configuration.
Please could Sony help?  i dont want to use any third part application.
    thank you

    Hi folks
    I'm having a similar problem.
The default Z1 Compact email app is doing weird things.  I've got 3 accounts set up in the app.  All with the same provider which uses live.com/hotmail as the email server.
Two (2) of the accounts work fine.  Checking email/syncing automatically and manually refreshing updates the inbox etc.
The other one, my main account, has stopped updating/refreshing the inbox.  This started about 2 weeks ago.  The weird thing is that it is still updating/refreshing the sent items.
I can send email from the account.  I just sent one from one account (the one that won't refresh) to one of the others successfully.
I've deleted the faulty account on the phone; set it up again - still the same.  Powered off, deleted account, set it up again.  No good.  I've altered the sync settings; changed parameters; put them back to default.  Still no good.
The account works fine on my wifes Samsung Galaxy S5.  Send/receive/refresh (both manually and automaticaly).  It also works fine on the Galaxy Tab 3 and the Surface Pro 2 and through the browser interface.
I do not want to use yet another email app - I like the Sony app.  I like its functionality, its look, its customisable format.
No, I don't want to add another non gmail account to the gmail app.  I want things separate.  No, I don't want to do a factory reset.  That shouldn't be necessary when the 2 other accounts in the app work fine.  Not to mention the time and data wasted to reinstall apps/updates etc.  That would be as bad as a Windoze reinstall.
I just want the Sony email app to work like it did previously.
    Any suggestions/help???
    Thanks in advance.

  • HT1277 I want to set up my email composition with a default me@alumni.myschool.edu address that is different from my ISP.  How do I configure?  Command line OK with me.

    Hi everyone,
I want to set up my email composition with a default [email protected] address in the "Reply-to" field that is different from my ISP.  How do I configure mail to set this default?
I have looked through the help and fail to see an option in the Preferences -> Compose window.
I am OK with UNIX Command line tasks if that is the only way to set this default.
Basically I have an alumni email redirection service, which is an address that never changes, even if I change ISP.  That way all my friends can use it an never change.  However, they tend to use whatever ISP address is, not what I have asked them to use.
I want to force emails I send to default to my alumni address when my friends reply, not my ISP address.  I want control over this.

Email preferences --> select Account --> Account Information tab --> Email address.
The Email address setting supplies the "from" mail address in a sent email for that account.
I  been doing this for years (well in Eudora but it works in Mail too) since my return address is a mail forwarding service.  That lets me switch ISP's and no one is ever the wiser.  I just change the forwarding service "pointer" to point to my new ISP.  But everyone else see sees the same "from" address as it's always been.

  • How should i setup my Alias iCloud email to be my the DEFAULT email?

Is there is a way to setup my Alias iCloud email to be my the defualt email?
    Please advice
    Thank you in advance

Thank you Roger for your quick responde, really appreciate it, however; this is not actually what am looking for, it helps though.
Lets say for example that you create a new iCloud account and called ([email protected]) then later on, you created an Alias for that account and called ([email protected]).
Now, the ([email protected]) is your default email account which you use to login through iClould.com, restore your i device and so on, however; you can't use your Alias email ([email protected]) for this things, because basically its not your default account.
My question is, how should i setup ([email protected]) to replace ([email protected]) to be my default iCloud account?

  • Samsung Stratosphere Stop Default Email App

A few weeks ago, I got the upgrade to some partial ICS from GB, since then, it seems I get email notification from the default email app and gmail app.
I have two  email apps in the notification area. I can't seem to find the default  email to stop it from accessing gmail, I want google gmail app to access it only. The only area I can view the default app is in the All Applications drawer. When I try to untick the email app from receiving mail, it will not let me. Keeps the tick mark listed. This is done in the app Settings section.
It all started once I got the software upgrade a few weeks ago.
Any ideas how to stop this?
    Thnx.

  • Can you add a submit by email button without a "default" to: address?

Can you add a submit by email button without a "default" to: address? I need the email window to launch without an addressee so the user can manually type in their addressee as needed. (A completed pdf will be attached to the email as well).

    Hi,
use a regular button with this script in its click event.
    event.target.mailDoc({

              cCc: '',
              cBcc: '',

  • Email Submit Button doesn't use default email software

When I click the Email Submit button, the form does not use my default email program (Eudora). Instead it uses an old hotmail account which I don't even use anymore.
All other web pages bring up Eudora when I click on a mail link.
Only Live Cycle documents do not.
I have the latest version of LiveCycle.
Is there a fix for this?

When you click the submit button, do you get a window that has the title "Select Email Client"and has the options of "Desktop Email Application" and "Internet Email"? If not, does anything at all happen?
Note that Mac users must have Acrobat or Reader installed and be viewing the PDF in Acrobat or Reader for it to work. Many (most?) Mac users have the Preview Application as their default PDF viewer, and it does not support many interactive features such as form submissions. Although some third-party PDF viewers for Windows support form submissions, many do not.
For those that do not use PDF viewers that support form submissions, they will have to manually attach the document to an email message.

  • Submit By Email Doesn't Launch Outlook 2010 as Default Mail Client, though Outlook is properly set a

A form designed in LiveCycle Designer with a Submit By Email button, doesn't launch Outlook 2010 (Standard Edition) when clicked, although Outlook is properly configured as Default Mail Client.  Checked with Microsoft and followed all proper steps yet the button doesn't invoke Outlook onClick.  However, Outlook is launched if a link or html button, set to the mailto syntax is clicked.  Is this a PDF form issue for LiveCycle or is there something I am missing?  Please any ideas?

I have this problem on Win7 64bit, but it seems to work fine with XP and Vista. Not sure about Win7 32bit.
I've also seen the problem in the past with programs like Thunderbird set to be the default email client (on XP).
I've never been able to figure out if it's an Adobe or Microsoft problem. Adobe uses the MAPI settings to find the email client.

  • Email Error no default mail client

I tried support on this one and no one had an answer.
I created a new form with 4 fields and the submit by email button and the print form button. The print form button works, but when I click the Submit by email I get the following error.
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mial client.
Working with the support person we updated to the most recent version (9.4) of Acrobat and he had me remove Office 2010 from my machine and reinstall. Same problem. I also at that time recreated the form in the latest version, Same problem. The Outlook program is the default on this machine.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, Office 2010 Pro Plus, Adobe Acrobat 9 and Adobe Elements.
I have a number of forms to build but hessitate in getting into them until I know this is going to work. Most of our office is on Windows 7 and Office 2010.

  • Program or script to delay sending emails? - For late night workers

    Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can delay sending emails out. Sometimes I am up very early (4am) to work. I don't want these emails going out at such a weird hour so I need to find a way to tell the emails to go out at a specified time (ie. 8am).
I don't think Mail has this option. I heard there are scripts out there but the ones I've tried are all out of date.
Can anyone help? A script OR another decent email program would do

I'm not aware of Mail having this option, either, but you can this this rather easily with iCal.
In iCal, double click on a day, and choose Edit. As you look over the options for the New Event, click the alarm (by default, it says None), and scroll down until you see Email. Of course, you can choose the date and time of the future email according to your needs.
