SUBMIT - donot know parameter name

Hi Gurus,
I am calling a report from another report. Inside report_2 i am using,
SUBMIT report_1
AND RETURN.
I am getting one more screen,with one parameter which can be filled dynamically.
I want to hard code this in my code itself just to make sure i get the output.
How do i do that? I am not able to find the name of the paramter that comes up on screen.
How do i pass the value.
I am using:
rspar_line-selname = 'INPUT'.  // using input as i donot know the parameter name
rspar_line-kind    = 'S'.
rspar_line-sign    = 'I'.
rspar_line-option  = 'EQ'.
rspar_line-low     = 'ABC'.     // 'ABC'  is say, the hard coded value i want to pass
APPEND rspar_line TO rspar_tab.
Then i do,
SUBMIT report_1
WITH SELECTION-TABLE rspar_tab
AND RETURN.
How do i proceed?
In the function module, i found that the value goes into a feild symbol 'input'
name of parametr i cud not get
Thanks,
Rashmi

Thank you gurus.
I made the changes accordingly.
but, there are 2 stages to get output from my 1st report.
When i execute report1, i enter some values(now i have hard-coded them in program)
then again, i get PRINT DIALOG BOX
Here i need to enter the put device name. and again exceute.
I am not able to automate this in my program. Could you suggest?
Through F1 help, i found the screen_field name to be 'SFPOUTPAR-DEST'
and i enter default output device 'PDEST'
where do i give this?
and also, after this, i need to do a 'Print Preview' and see if file is opening up.
Can i automate these actions?
Thanks a lot. The previous inputs did help me.
Regards,
Rashmi

  • How to read a Oracle Forms PARAMLIST without knowing parameter names

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to read a Oracle Forms Paramlist on Oracle Forms (I mean read all parameters on it) without knowing any names of the parameters?
    I´d like to create a command line at run time and put on this command line all the parameters and its values, but I will never know the quantity of parameters and its names and values.
    Example of the command line I want to create:
    rwrun.sh batch=yes destype=file desname=/tmp/cmx_objetos.pdf desformat=pdf userid=***/***@*** module=/d01/oracle/VIS/apps/apps_st/appl/ecomex/fmx/cmx_objetos.rep parameter1=value1, parameter2=value2 ... paramaterN=valueN
    Thanks.

    As Francois said it is not clear if you are talking about Forms or Reports here. If Reports: check Get parameter name and type at runtime thread.
    But if you have no idea of the number or names of the parameters? How do you know which values to assign at all?

    Everything works as it should I don't tick any of the check box, but as soon as I tick the check boxes I get the above mentioned Error.
    Can anyone please help?
    Thanks

    You are trying to create a checkbox on the fly and submit it with the page.
    But then APEX checks all the submitted items, detects your checkbox and doesn't know where to put it. So it raises an exception.
    You should disable your checkbox before submit, then it won't get sent back to the server. You also could remove the "name" attribute of your checkbox, APEX will ignore it then. Whatever suits your needs best.

  • How to run a webdynpro multiple times by passing different parameters each time and save webpages with parameter name?

    Hi Experts,
    I am a BW consultant and new to webdynpro. Not sure how to run RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY multiple times and by passing different parameter values each time(either taken from an a standard BW table or user provided - anything is fine) and build web pages with parameter name. Need help with direction on where to start.
    Let me step back and explain my requirement:
    In BW we have an object called transformation.
    One way of generating documentation for transformation is highlight transformation and press F1. Then its documentation will be opened as a local web page.
    I need these web pages for all transformations. This is my requirment.
    I came to know that RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY is beeing used to generate this web page.
    The web link is something like below:
    http://ubw05.xxx.com:8005/SAP/BW/DOC/METADATA/?page=BW_O_D&SystemID=BWPCLNT100&ClassID=TRFN&ID=0KHR6J65AIIUTCJZEC093K6XDFV909PB&objectVersion=A&sap-language=EN&sap-client=100
    When i run this link seperately(not by selecting transformation and pressing F1) i need to enter login credentials to BW system.
    My challenges is how do i pass login credentials and multiple transformation IDs to generate multipe web pages with each page named by transformation ID?
    WHere to start? First of all is RSO_METADATA_REPOSITORY Webdynpro JAVA or webdynpro ABAP or can i use anything?
    Since it is beeing opened as local webpages i assume it is webdynpro JAVa is that correct?
    Thanks,
    Raghu

  • A problem with a parameter name.(% causing problems)

    Hello,
    I wrote a following sql query and it works fine except for parameters like drying%Total, drying%,. The reason is that in the name of parameters there is a wildcard used %. I know that I can use an escape command however I could not figure out how as I think that escape command only works with LIKE operator and not MAX. Could you please help me to resolve this problem?
    Could you please tell me what should be amended in order an Oracle would treat % as a normal character and not a wildcard?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    SELECT c.numlotpharma AS lotnum , c.numof ,
    MAX(DECODE(RTRIM(a.parametercode),'DRYING',numvalue,0)) AS dryingdata,
    MAX(DECODE(RTRIM(a.parametercode),'DRYING%Total',numvalue,0)) AS dryingpercentageTotal,
    MAX(DECODE(RTRIM(a.parametercode),'DRYING%',numvalue,0)) AS dryingpercentage1

    INNER JOIN
    (SELECT MAX(inputindex) AS inputindex,
    parametercode , mancode

    Hello,
    I will post some production data tomorrow as I am not at work today.Great!
    If in decode % is treated as a part of parameter name then what about this part of my sql query
    WHERE parametercode IN ('DRYING','DRYING%Total','DRYING%')
    Is % treated as a wildcard?I think it is. Why do you think that?
    '%' is a wildcard only in the right-operand of LIKE. The '%' characters in the expression above are not in the right-operand of a LIKE operation. (In fact, the expression doesn't include LIKE at all.) Therefore, the '%' signs above are not treated as wildcards.
    Include in your sample data some examples where the condition above is not doing what you expect. Be sure to post the entire query, too; the part that causes the unexpected results might be something completely unconnected to the WHERE clause posted above.
    Could you please tell me what to do so it would not be treated as a widlcard but as a integral part of a parameter name.You don't have to do anything.
    Consider this example:
    CREATE TABLE     table_x
    (     x_id          NUMBER (4)
    ,     parametercode     VARCHAR2 (30)
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (0,  NULL);
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (1,  'DRYING');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (2,  'DRYING%Total');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (3,  'DRYING%');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (11, 'DRYINGFOO');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (12, 'DRYING%FOO');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (13, 'DRYINGFOOTotal');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (14, 'FOO');
    SELECT     *
    FROM     table_x
    WHERE      parametercode IN ( 'DRYING'
                    , 'DRYING%Total'
                    , 'DRYING%'
    ;Output:
    .     X_ID PARAMETERCODE
             1 DRYING
             2 DRYING%Total
             3 DRYING%Is this what you expect? If not, what is?

  • The parameter name [...] in the query's selection criteria does not match..

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to pratice EJB 3 (which I learnt at school), with JSF and JPA, but i'm really stuck with that error :
    Exception [TOPLINK-6094] (Oracle TopLink Essentials - 2.0 (Build b41-beta2 (03/30/2007))): oracle.toplink.essentials.exceptions.QueryException
    Exception Description: The parameter name [departmentID] in the query's selection criteria does not match any parameter name defined in the query.
    Query: ReadAllQuery(oracle.datamodel.Employees)
    I will try to explain clearly what i'm trying to do :
    In fact, i'm following that tutorial :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/ejb_and_jpa/master-detail_pagewith_ejb.htm
    But, as i didn't have any oracle database, but had a mysql one on my machine, i decided to use that DB instead of the the oracle DB... So i created a set of example data (to replace the oracle example set) ...so i created the tables EMPLOYEE, and DEPARTMENT... with the correct relations (FK) and PK)
    All was ok, i choose my "mysql-connector" (jdbc) instead of the oracle jdbc connector... so i could follow the tutorial.
    My problem appears at the step 12 (of "Creating a Master-Detail JavaServer Faces Page"), when i run the file deptEmployees.jspx.
    The information of the first departement displays correctly :
    departmentID 1
    departmentName ... etc
    but it can't display the employees belonging to that department !
    the error is :
    JBO-29000: Exception Description: The parameter name [departmentID] in the query's selection criteria does not match any parameter name defined in the query. Query: ReadAllQuery(oracle.datamodel.Employees)
    I think i understand what is the problem... I think that the query in charge of gathering the data of a specific departement need a parameter, but couldn't find it. But i don't know why :-/ I have tried many things and read the topics talking about that error... but it didn't solved the problem. I don't know anymore where to investigate.
    I have created a Zip file of my work (it's an EJB/JSF Application.. with jdev 10.1.3.3.0)
    (available here : http://dl.free.fr/mQ5esdQuS/EJB_appli.zip)
    I would be glad if someone could take few minutes to help me.
    Thank you in advance,
    Thomas B (student)

    Hello,
    This is a common mistake. Java string comparisons in TopLink are case sensitive by default, and since column names are uppercase when defaulted, TopLink cannot find the "departmentID" column name. In this case, Departments ID column defaults to "DEPARTMENTID" as required by the JPA specification.
    Either change Departments id annotation to     @Id
        @Column(name="departmentID", nullable = false)
        private Integer departmentID;or change Employees' ManytoOne annotation to:
        @ManyToOne
        @JoinColumn(name = "departmentID", referencedColumnName = "DEPARTMENTID")
        private Departments departments;Best Regards,
    Chris

  • I need to use a reserved word as parameter name in proc called from URL

    Let me preface this post by saying I already know this is terrible to attempt, but it's short term fix only.
    Ok, so I have to create a procedure that will be called by a vendors application via a API that calls our URL to send data over. The terrible part is
    that the API they have uses the parameter FROM=vendor_data A change is on the way so in the future the API won't use FROM as a paramter, so this isn't something I want to do, but it's a workaround.
    So the nastiness is this..., I can create a procedure that'll compile when I enclose FROM in double quotes "FROM" as my input parameter
    but if I try to call my procedure via URL (as their application will do) the procedure isn't working. I searched for someway to do an inline
    replace of the FROM parameter to something else, but no luck. I'm open to all positive comments. I cannot go outside of Oracle
    to do this, so I can't call a shell script and replace. Basically I need some way to use a reserved word as a parameter name, and then be able to call
    that proc from a URL, or someway to change the FROM in the URL inline. Any help on this admittedly whacky situation would be appreciated much.
    I tried ...\myproc?from=text
    ...\myproc?"from"=text
    ...\myproc?'from'=text
    proc is simple test procedure
    create or replace procedure myproc
    ("from" in varchar2 default 0)
    is
    v_from varchar2(30);
    begin
    v_from:="FROM";
    insert into test(col1) values(v_from);
    end;
    **** Update
    I didn't get any more replies but came to a solution that I thought I'd post. It's much better, more elegant and maybe can help others.
    So instead of using FROM as the parameter name I did some research and decided I can use flexible parameters. Basically you end up having
    2 input parameters for a procedure, one holds a parameter name the other holds the parameter value. They get loaded into arrays
    and you access the values with regular name_array(1), value_array(1), etc. ?v=parameter&v2=value
    Once I figued I could use flexible parameter it took me tons of research to find out the actual syntax. I'll post some examples for others
    later, but was suprised with the lack of resources consideriing how "flexible" they are.
    Thanks again for the replies. Cheers.

    Scott,
    Thanks for the reply. I'm not familiar with the wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local, however I know that the
    myproc is available via URL. I passed the my procedure name(myproc) on to the dba a while back to make it "accessible" so, I'm assuming that he
    added it to this the www_flow_epg_mod_local (assuming this has something to do with access control).
    If I modify myproc procedure and remove "FROM" as the input variable, and replace with say,
    IN_FROM I can then call the procedure via the URL ./myproc?in_from=test without any problems.
    I'm pretty confident that it's the "FROM" that is the hurdle and not a security or setup issue. The proc is fine to call from the URL until I got the curveball that the only available parameter was FROM. How the URL should be when inputing to that parameter?

  • Parameter name / value length issue

    hello,
    i do know that there is a length limit of the url (255 chars), so i can't use GET, because i have to pass a high number of parameters, which names are 9 chars long and values are 21 chars long.
    i'm wondering if there are any limits on the parameter name/value length, or a total length/size of parameters that can be passed without being truncated by server, or something like this....
    i can't find in api that there is any limit, but still, if my app designed the way it needs to pass a lot of parameters with long names (9 chars) and long values (21 chars).
    can this cause problems?
    if not, is it a good taste to build app that can use POST request only?
    thanks

  • How can I know the name of instance (SID)?

    Dear all,
    After I install the Oracle client in my computer, I would like to change the tnsname.ora. However, I don't know the name of instance (SID) because I am not the one install the database and the DBA is gone. So, how can I know the SID name and the port number as well.
    Best Regards,
    amy

    Hey,
    The sid defaults to the database name.
    http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/ora/misc/identifiers.html
    you can find it by
    select name from v$database;
    or by
    show parameter db_name (run this in sql prompt)
    Run the above on the database server.

    Found one article saying you can get this if previous version not fully removed, and to do a repair of the previous version, but as I said I uninstalled it and followed all steps for cleanup, so nothing to repair.

    Here is the ERRORLOG file from C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log.  At the bottom I am seeing the error you said before was a SAN issue.  I had hoped that issue was only with
    SQL 2012, but it appears it is even with 2008?
    If that is still the issue, I'm trying to understand if by the articles, if the SAN conflict is an OS issue or an SQL issue?   In other words, is it because the OS is Server 2012?   Or would this still occur if I install SQL
    2008 on Server 2008 R2?    I don't know that they will be willing to upgrade the SAN, and I don't really want to fool with a .VHD (virtual disk) as a workaround speaks of.
    If you're asking if I did this from your article:  select startup account for Database Engine services as NT Authority\SYSTEM
    , I don't recall what I did this last time.  I was doing that the last few days, but I think I didn't switch it to that once, just to see if I would have success.  I don't know if that was this last time or not when I switched it.
    Is there anywhere I can check that after the fact?

  • In miro what is po field parameter name

    I don't know what is the parameter name in po field in miro, my problem is i have to check a business area of corresponding plant, i have been implement a badi 'zmrm_header_check',  if i put hard coded po number then its work correctly , i have to put a po number dynamically to pick up plant number..
    So please solve my problem.

    Hi,
    As of my understanding, you are trying to get the PO Number from the MIRO into BADI. If so, you can get it through Parameter ID like
    'GET PARAMETER ID '<ID>' FIELD <variable>.
    For PO Number field 'BES'.
    In general to know Parameter ID of any screen field, go to technical information from F1 help and know the Data element and Parameter ID will be assigned to that Data element.
    If my understanding is wrong, can you please elaborate your query.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Jari,
    I have an additional task, where I'm trying to implement character count for this test text field, as standard one, seems to be not working properly, when you use a "return" character (as the carrige returns should be counted as 2) which later causes:
