CALL a report from WDA using SUBMIT to sap-spool

I need to call a report from one of the methods of a WDA application.
The out of this report is a sapscript. I want show it in WDA (PDF).
The report is called when a user clicks EXECUTE button.

If i execute this code in WDA, the sy-calld never is equal 'X'.

Hi Silvio,
a submit REPORT to spool does work from WDA.
ONLY when "and return" is used.
You have that, so it should work.
Note you had print immediate on, so it will be output on printer,
and not available to read after the call.
(which option was the keep after print?, I would have to check docu)
The sy-calld will be set to X inside the REPORT when it is running.
After the submit has run back inside WDA it is of course reset to space again.

Suppress spool in Submit Report

Hi All
I am doing a Submit Report in background in loop.
I can check from the background job if the Submit was successful or not. But if it is successful I dont want any output in spool.
By default it is creating a spool request for every Submit.
But dont want any spool to be created as the submit will be executed no. of times.
Kindly let me know if and how we can suppress the spool request. The code I have written is attached below.

Output of a report to spool

how to send output of a report to spool and output of of report should not be display and i need spool number in status bar of the selection screen.all this function should happen when i exectute selcetion after providing varient in selection and selection secreen should not change and in staus bar i need spool number.

Writing a report to spool

Dear all,
I have a requirement to write the report output to spool. For that I have used the syntax, new-page print on and new-page print off. But in ECC 5.0 system is telling that the command is obsolate. Can you please suggest what can be done to write the output of a report to spool? Is there any function module available to write the output to spool?

i am stuck here with an issue. i am trying to print a report using spool in Russian, its status ends in error. however when i try printing same in english its status is complete.

Why do you want to do
SELECT *
FROM    table_name;
inside the procedure? Why not have your script run the procedure (without the query above), and then do that query afterwards, when you can use SPOOL to put the results in a file?
If you really must write a file from a procedure, here's an example of how to use utl_file.
First, SYSTEM (or some other user with the CREATE ANY DIRECCTORY system privilege) must create a directory, and grant privileges to use it. For example:
CREATE OR RPLEACE DIRECTORY a_dir AS 'C:\Foo\A_Folder';
GRANT ALL ON DIRECTORY a_dir TO PUBLIC;
Typically, SYSTEM does this once, and other people use it hundreds of times.
You might create a file in that directory like this:

Will SUBMIT report EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY work, when Run in Background?

You can use SUBMIT <report> EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY, and then Call the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY to get the Data.
This works fine, when the Program is Run in Foreground. My question is, will it work when I Run the Program in Background? i.e. When I Run the Program in Background, will the SUBMIT Statement, Export the List to Memory? Because only then the FM LIST_FROM_MEMORY will get the Data.
Any alternate solution to meet the same requirement will be appreciated.

Skip Error message in submit report

Hello Gurus,
I am using SUBMIT <REPORT> command inside a loop of my calling report. For one record the SUBMIT <report> is throwing an eror message due to which my report is getting stopped by displaying the error message.
My requirement is to skip the record if there is any error in SUBMIT <report> and process rest of the records.

Vasanth's idea regarding doing a CALL FUNCTION IN BACKGRUOND TASK does work, unless you need to get back some information from the SUBMIT, as export parameters can't be set when using IN BACKGRUOND TASK.
As i need to get data from the SUBMIT, i'll keep looking for other alternatives, so other ideas are still welcome...

Submit report to get output list

   I have one requirement to take output list of a transaction in one internal table.
As the transaction is very much interactive , that perticular internal table gets populated somewhere in the middle of the standard program...later on that table undergoes further processing to cope up with he interaction...
using SUBMIT report , we can export it to memory
and using FM 'LIST_FROM_MEMORY' we can get it back as following.
list_tab contains data in two fields RFCSIZE and RFCRECORD in numbers only...
Submit   report_name with SELECTION-TABLE SELTAB
        exporting list to Memory and return.

   BUT , Can we get the same output list (i.e before interaction) in one internal table...

You can check whether the list is exported in between before the submit.
Supposed it is exported before the interaction den you can import it ..Just check the value is fetched and stored in a temporary table.
Is it a csutom program or standard SAP one..?

Report output list to internal table using submit report

I have a report that generates the output in the form of an abap list. I want this data in an internal table for further processing. the report internally does not do a export data to memory so i cannot use import later on to get the data.
i did the following
SUBMIT <report name> exportING LIST TO MEMORY and return.

This returns the data in the ascitab, but the data contains additional unwanted info like lines and hyphens etc. Also the data is in a table with a single column, so pulling out individuals fields is again an issue. Is there a way to get this data into an internal table directly?
