Submitting another request from a delivery plan

At the end of a service delivery, I have a need to submit a different service request, copying across some field values etc.
Sounds like using the API is only way, and I need to first call the getServiceDefinition to get service definition info such as version etc., and then call submitRequisition to submit the request.
Has anyone done this before as part of a delivery plan of a service, and can you share what approach you took and any system/technical challenges? Do all within Service Link? Or have an external automation tool submit the new request?
Any plans for product team to add some built in function to have a task to submit a new request?
Thanks.

Thanks Lim.
I have tested the AuthenticationService API by providing my credentials and it was working fine by populating a part of my details in the person document as the response.
So, I have provided my credentials as it is in the RequisitionService API which didn't work. The link which you have shared to me to generate the encrypted password didn't return any value. So, I will be checking with Cisco TAC Support for this as I am working with them already for the below response which I am getting though the directory integration is ON.
I thought that I need to use this WebService in a ServiceLink agent. Since you have mentioned this as an API, I am assuming that I dont need to have a WSListener for a response using the RequisitionService API. Am I correct?
The response error message I am getting while accessing the WS using SoapUI tool:

  • Error when submitting GRC request from IDM

    Hello GRC gurus,
    We were running into an issue when trying to set up our IDM - GRC integration; when submitting a request to GRC via the AC Validation task the "Submit AC Request" task always encounters an error, but in spite of which the request still gets created on the GRC end; weirdly enough, 2 requests get created each time:<br>
    putNextEntry failed storingcn=TESTUSER,ou=submitrequest,o=grc
    Exception from Add operation:javax.naming.CommunicationException: [LDAP: error code 2 - (GRC Submit Request:2:oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver)]; remaining name 'cn=TESTUSER,ou=submitrequest,o=grc'
    <br>
    On the GRC end we noticed that we are getting the following error:<br>

    Hi Diego,
    Thanks a lot for your quick response! Sorry for the delay in responding; I was travelling.
    Uploading the new files from the Note you mentioned allowed us to view what the actual errors were; but we've started running into new errors now; when looking at the operation logs for VDS, I see that the webservice actually returns an operation result of SUCCESS also quoting that "Finished add operation"; which is why the request does in fact get created in CUP but a couple of log entries later after the webservice returns the request number I encounter the following error within VDS:
    Exception in GRC WS API call:oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    Here's the error found in sequence within a set of other operational log messages within VDS:

    It's the strangest thing, because it seems to send the request across successfully which is how the request is getting created in CUP but after it succeeds it encounters the exception with the GRC WebService call from the API; any ideas why this is happening? how can we possibly fix this?
    Would greatly appreciate any insight / advice on this!

  • Submitting Concurrent request from PL/SQL

    Hi
    I am currently attempting to submit a concurrent program from a pl/sql block that itself is being run as a concurrent program. However the call to submit_request would only returned zero.
    I inserted a call to FND_GLOBAL.INITIALIZE as suggested on another forum and am now getting .. ORA-00942: table or view does not exist has been detected in FND_GLOBAL.INITIALIZE.
    Surely if a table or view did not exist the package fnd_global would not compile (it does compile)
    Any suggestions in terms of
    Do i need a call to fnd_global.initialize
    Without it would to submit_request return zero
    ..etc
    The parent conc prog code is as follows:
    v_action := 'run file download stage'||utl_tcp.crlf;
    -- Write to concurrent log.
    apps.fnd_file.put_line(apps.fnd_file.log,'v_action: '||v_action);
    apps.fnd_profile.get('USER_ID', v_user_id);
    apps.fnd_profile.get('RESP_ID', v_resp_id);

              THEN
              apps.fnd_file.put_line(apps.fnd_file.log,'1.3');
              RETCODE :=2;

         else
         apps.fnd_file.put_line(apps.fnd_file.log,'1.4: sqlerrm:'|| sqlerrm);
    END IF;
    However as mentioned this returns the following in the concurrent log..

    Thanks for any Help
    will

    Ok
    Done some more reading and looks like i may not need the call to
    fnd_global.apps_initialize
    as i am running this from an apps session using a parent concurrent prog.
    I have commented the above call out, however get the following in the concurrent log..
    Start of log messages from FND_FILE
    v_action: run file download stage
    11170
    20420
    1
    apps.fnd_message.GET: ORACLE error -2289 in SUBMIT: others
    Cause: SUBMIT: others failed due to ORA-02289: sequence does not exist.
    The SQL statement being executed at the time of the error was: &SQLSTMT and was executed from the file &ERRFILE.
    0.5 v_req_id: 0
    1.4: sqlerrm:ORA-0000: normal, successful completion
    End of log messages from FND_FILE
    There seems to be a missing sequence being called from fnd_request.submit, however if this was the case the package would not compile.. correct?
    Any help would be appreciated..

    either you use fnd_request or concsub
    skip the parameter start time to submit the request immediately

  • How to enable end users to escalate requests outside of newScale - end user view of delivery plan

    How do you communicate to end users in a large organization, the procedures for escalation a request that is late or urgent. The views of the delivery plan available to users don't give them muche detail about who is doing the work.
    I'm curious how other people communicate the escalation procedures - per service - to the end users that submit them?  for instance, our unix admin team is pretty swamped and not meeting their OLAs reliably.  They want to provide a way for the Appdev/IT users to know how to escalate requests that are late and urgent/important.
    When a user submits a unix admin service on a req, if the user knows where to look in myservices, they can see the delivery plan, but enough detail to know who is doing the work. (we submitted an enhancement request a while ago to provide an options for a "full disclosure" view of the delivery plan).   Even if they have enough access to service manager to find the req number and see the service manager view of the delivery plan, they still only see the service team/queue name, which might not be enough info for them to make a call or send an email.
    We are discussing a few options and was curious what others are doing:
    1.  Update the Service description to include a contact distribution list for the fulfillment team (for requests with simple plans) or the service owner team for complex delivery plans.
    2.  Create a custom email template to be sent at start of delivery plan.  Ccurrently we have a generic email that covers most requests, but are thinking of creating emails that provides service-specific escalation information.
    3.  Create an intranet page with escalation information by service, and perhaps including this as a link off the myservice home page or the service description.
     The scope of this question is more around infrastructure requests that are fulfilled by centralized groups, not how end users escalate phone or computer requests.  Our service-desk generally not involved in support of infrastructure requests, although they woudl probably be the escalation point for end-user requests

  • How can I forward a request from to another servlet?

    If I would like to forward a request from a servlet to another one, but they are not located in the same machine.
    Could I use the following code to do it?
    getServletConfig().getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("XXXXX").forward(request, response);

    You can not do a forward to a servlet on a different server. You can do a redirect and put any parameters you want to pass in the url. If you are using JSP you may bve able to use the JSTL include tag, again passing the parameters in the URL. You could use the URLConnection or HttpURLConnection class to open a connection to the servlet, make a request, get the response and the return the response to the client.

  • Transport a request from one server(quality) to another server(production)

    Hi All,
    I want to transport a request from one server(quality) to another server(production)
    Can we transport a request from quality to production programatically i.e. by using programing logic.
    Regards,
    Swarup

    Hi,
    It cannot be done programmatically. Although it can be automated by basis guys. They configure it in TMS (Transport Management System). You can check it using STMS. (if you are authorized to view it).
    Transport path are defined in TMS.
    For Automated Transport configuration is done in TMS.
    Generally automatic Transport are not setup between quality and production. Changes are first tested in Quality and then Transported by basis team either periodically / individually.
    In case of manual transport Transport Request can be imported in production using STMS_IMPORT transaction in production. (Basis guy will do it for approved Transports)
    If there is no direct connectivity - Basis people copy "data" file and "co" file and Transport it to target server (This is generally not the case in Quality - production as Transport path is always defined).

  • Move transport requests from one landscape to another

    HI Gurus,
       I am facing a situation where i need to import the Transport Request from one landscape to another.
        Consider i have two  landscapes DE1 TE1 PE1  and  DE2 TE2 PR2. and both the landscapes are on
        different release.
         I have created a Transport Request DE1Kxxxxxx.
         And now i want to use this transport request in the other landscape of DE2 TE2 PR2.
       How can i do that. Is there any process in using the Transport Request created in another landscape of different release.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sachin Kumar.

    Hi,
    Just do manual copy of both data and cofile to second landscape...there you need to change the naming conventions(SID)....But it will works only that is a customizing request...cause developments will depends upon installation nubers....

  • Order GI date different from Delivery Planned GI date

    Hi Gurus, I noticed on one order-delivery that the order's GI date (in the schedule line) is different from the delivery's planned GI date. What could be the cause of that?

    hello dear
    System is nowhere stopping to change the planned GI date in billing. If orders schedule date is say 15.10.2007, i can change the planned GI date to 16.10.2007 and so the billing date also.
    regards

  • Sending email in one account, triggers a password request from another

    I have several email accounts operating in MAIL. I have recently noticed that when I send an email in one account, a second account pops up and requests a password. I used to type in the password, but then I thought: has a nasty virus infected my system and somehow, whenever I send emails, they are also secretly being sent somewhere else via this second password-seeking account.
    There is nothing in the Outbox for the second account, so I'd like to find out what is going on. Is this an indication of a virus, or has MAIL gone haywire?
    I can get around the problem by clicking OK to the password request from the second account (but not having typed anything in), which sends me to a window asking me if I want to use another account to send the email. I select the first account (the one I actually want to use), it asks me for the password, and away it goes.
    Thanks in advance for any comments.
    Guy Burns

    Guy,
    You need to provide us with some additional info about the SMTP you are using as the Outgoing Server for each account, and what, if any, relationship that SMTP has to both accounts. The use of the SMTP provided by your ISP, for example, if Authenticated either by Password or by SMTP after POP3 methods, can trigger a password prompt that looks the same as that for the Incoming server of an account provided by that ISP.
    More info, please.

  • How to load data from one Infocube to another request by request using DTP

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario where we are maintaining backup Infocube B for Infocube A.  User loads data from a flat file many times a day in different requests.  We need to maintain backup of the Infocube A on weekly basis.  i.e data to be refreshed with delta update from cube A to cube B.  There are some situations where user deletes some of the requests in Infocube A randomly after use.  Will this change effect in back up cube B when performed data refresh from cube A to cube B.  i.e. this functionality is similar to reconstruct in BW 3.5.  Now we are running on BI 7.0 SP 9.
    Can anyone answer this ASAP.
    Many Thanks,
    Ravi

    You cannot load request by request, " Get Data By Request " DTP loads request by request on " First In First Out " basis. You can run some Pseudo/Fake DTP's if you dont want to load data from a particular request.
    If the user deletes a request from Cube A, it wont be loaded to Cube B but if it is already loaded in Cube B and later the user deletes the request from Cube A you have to delete the request frm Cube B. Inorder to monitor request by request run DTP with   " Get Data By Request set.
